I have been both eagerly awaiting this book and dreading it. Anticipating it because I have adored this series and I absolutely love the characters and story line and what KM Shea has done with the King Arthur legends in the other books of this series. Dreading it because I love this series and this characters and King Arthur legends never end happily. So far, every King Arthur retelling I've read or watched tends to end either heavy on the bittersweet or just plain sad. As in, everyone dies.
I had a guess how this series would end. The author had set it up too plainly with the whole time travel thing to have it end any other way. But that still wasn't the ending I wanted. In a way, I didn't want Britt to return to her own time, even though she missed it, because I didn't want her to leave her new family behind.
I'm not going to say any more because that would be way to spoilery, but the ending blew me away. Yes, there was still bittersweet, but unlike most retellings, there was more sweet than bitter in it. It was perfect. I really shouldn't have doubted that, of all authors to tackle King Arthur retellings, KM Shea would be the first I've read to actually pull off a happy ending, stay mostly true to the legends, and put her own unique stamp on it.

A Fitting Ending to an Excellent Series
I have loved this take on the King Arthur legend. Basically Arthur runs off with a shepherdess, leaving Merlin with no king to put on the throne and fulfill his dreams of a united Britain. Merlin uses a spell, linked to the sword in the stone, and ends up pulling Britt Arthurs, an American, back to Camelot.
Endings is the last book in the series, and I would recommend reading them in order. This is naturally where everything comes to a head, and Britt must unite Britain against a larger enemy.
There are many things that I love about this series: I love Britt's relationship with her knights. They can tell that she cares about them. When she pushes them to a higher code of conduct, they rise to the occasion, all except for pigheaded Lancelot! I love the research that obviously went into this series. K.M. Shea uses characters from real Arthurian legends, but she doesn't pigeonhole them. Morgan Le Fey may be an enchantress, but that doesn't make her evil. I love the humor in there stories. Britt and Merlin are both pretty sarcastic, and their reactions to Lancelot crack me up.
This book was well written, and made me wish that the series wasn't over. I would love to see spinoff books or novellas, or anything else that K. M. Shea dares to write. She is that good!

**Review of the series as a whole rather than the individual books except there is a note at the end of this review about the conclusion**
KM Shea lets you know right up front what her stories will be. They will be some type of fantasy (usually), end happily and neatly tied up and are meant as a break from life rather than to be deep thinking. This series delivered exactly what was promised.
This is more of a series of novellas except for the last book that is full length. It's a fun story reimagining the King Arthur Legend. In it, a young woman named Britt is brought from modern day back in time after she touches the legendary sword. It seems the actual King Arthur has run away and Merlin places a spell on the sword to bring someone back that has all the needed attributes to fill the role. What he doesn't even consider is to specify the gender in his spell.
The 7 book series details adventures as Britt poses as King Arthur. She goes about finding her round table and the knights that will belong. KM Shea plays with the mythology and has a bit of fun with it. I enjoyed the stories and Britt as well as other characters' evolutions. Sure it could be far fetched at times but I always give fantasy book a lot of leeway. If you need tight plotting and things to make perfect sense then maybe look elsewhere. This series is not meant to stand up to that kind of seriousness. It's simply escapist, fun reading with a story around a strong female character. There is the faintest whiff of romance that doesn't really even manifest until the end and then only trace amounts.

I LOVED Endings!
In fact, I have loved this series since the very first book!
The thing I absolutely admire about this series is how each and every character developed. It felt like I personally witnessed all of them grow.
It was amazing how even the supporting characters had a depth and storylines that were simultaneously playing out throughout the series. They were really enjoyable, thoroughly likeable and truly relatable.
I liked and admired Britt from the very first book. I liked how strong, positive and funny she was. I liked how she treated all her Knights. I liked reading Britt's banters with both Merlin and Nymue. I also found her disdain for Lancelot quite funny. and Britt's character and morals were truly inspiring.
I also really liked Merlin, he was smart and cunning. He, very early on, understood that Britt was also quite smart, passionate and talented and so never tried to change her. He understood Britt and always supported her
At the end of the book, I was both sad and happy as I have loved this series and all its characters for a very long time and now it has ended.
I am truly satisfied by the was this series concluded and how the author tied up all the loose ends.
K. M. Shea is a truly talented Author and I hope to read many more books by her.

Such is the unfortunate burden of a time traveler. You are blessed – and cursed – to stand between two times and two very different groups of people who love you. Yours is not an easy road.
The feels!!! That ending had all the feels. I even teared up. That was a better ending to the story than I thought would happen. I was scared of the ending because I felt as if I would hate it.
The opposite happened indeed. I loved it. It made me so happy and sad at the same time. I knew some things had to happen, but I didn’t want them to happen. And I don’t know what to start next. This was an end to a good series.
I would say, my biggest complaint is that the books weren’t drawn out more. Relationships built up more. I wish the books were all this long or even longer.

Best. Ending. Ever! I loved this book the most out of all of them—it wrapped up everything so well and perfectly for theses characters in my opinion. 🥰
I loved this last romp with Britt, Merlin, and the rest of the gang (except Lancelot—I still have ISSUES with him 😒), and all the while as the war grew closer and closer I was wondering how the author was going to end everything and let me tell you the twists at the end did not disappoint in the slightest and even took me by surprise!
This story was funny, sad, sweet and heartfelt, and I totally teared up a few times. Even though I’m still a bit iffy on how all the time travel works (which is always the case for me when time travel is involved in a story, haha), I didn’t care as it worked out in the best way ever in the end. I also ADORED the last “mini story” at the end with Merlin and Britt—just perfect. 😍🥰
I love this series and am so glad I read it this year! Would happily read it again and highly recommend. ☺️

The ending was so odd, and yet satisfying?

Still processing all that this book has meant to me :) Yeah...this one kept me up way past my bedtime, but it was worth it!!
There was MUCH more magic in this book; a dragon is spotted, a fae knight makes an appearance (humorous how Britt and the knights respond to him), and Merlin is tested in his response to Britt being attacked by someone. Oh and Excalibur is thrown into water and it releases a signal for help to arrive, that was cool!
Rome's soldiers make an important appearance in this one and Lancelot makes the mistake of confronting Britt and her annoyance with him.
My thoughts regarding Lancelot in this book...curse YOU Lancelot!! Then, how is Lancelot NOT dead yet?! And, oh wow, he is definitely going to get killed here. Finally, how did he get away with THAT? Ultimately, I'm glad Britt forgives him but will never understand how he achieves all he does, in treason and bitterness, and still remains part of Britt's group.
I thought Britt responded very casually to the threat and unavoidable call to war. The first book of battle was traumatic for her and war is avoided the rest of the series until this book. VERY WELL WRITTEN every bit of it, but I guess it's just part of her fearless nature and determination to unite Britain per Merlin's ultimate mission.
I cried at the end, just loved everything about Britt and her relationship to all her knights and the lives they lead to honor her. I was in awe for some of the battle scenes and proud of Britt. Then I cried in utter sadness even though I knew it would be a happy ending and I sensed there would be more time travel. Don't know how you go back to your regular life after experiencing all of that. Then finally I cried in complete joy!! Really cried a lot at the very end...didn't really follow every explanation, but was overwhelmed in satisfaction how it all concluded, EVEN the DOG and THAT LETTER!! This series was so good for me and it ended just as it should, long live Britt and her knights :) :)

Wonderful, wonderful series. Amazing characters, genuine relationships, and a memorable plot! K.M. Shea is amazing and I can't wait to read more from her in the future.

The was an amazing series! I loved the final installment the best! The ending was everything I hoped for and more! I am looking forward to reading more books by this author! I love her twist on famous stories and legends, but most of all I appreciate how cleanly they are written!

Really enjoyed this whole series. It was a unique play on the King Arthur legend and it actually worked well. I’m not a fan of fantasy or anything similar but I enjoyed the characters and their developments throughout the series. I would recommend this series. Glad my friend loaned them to me and had me read a style that I normally wouldn’t.

Love the ending, though I knew from the beginning that it would be bittersweet. She couldn't have everything and be in her time. Really enjoyed these retellings. K M Shea has a knack for using the original but making better and more entertaining.

I definitely have a King Arthur and Her Knights size hole in my life right now. It was so great to reach the conclusion of Britt's story. I don't want to give any spoilers so I wont say anything about the ending other than it was a good and fitting ending and I will miss all these characters.

The King Arthur And Her Knights series was probably my favorite series as a teenager. I read the first six books countless times before this book was released and my hopes for the finale were high, but I was crushed by an ending that was stupid and riddled with plot holes.
I could go on for so much longer, but I’ll leave it off here by saying this conclusion forever ruined what used to be an incredible series and I can’t see myself reading these books again in the future.

Wow. Like, wow. I looked eagerly towards the climax yet I also felt dread; parting is such sweet sorrow! K.M. Shea will not disappoint her readers in this book!
The world seems at peace (till it is not!) and everyone seems happy (till they aren't!). Britt and Merlin have quite a messy problem approaching them... But fear not! Justice and redemption are served as everything comes to a head with the finale to the King Arthur and Her Knights series!
I enjoyed meeting Artie and 'Sir Galahad.' Several plot points that were bugging me are finally resolved (cough Lancelot cough). Gwenevere grew on me with time, and I'm glad Britt saw that too. And Merlin's magic... ahh! Love is the most powerful motivator...
Did I cry? No, actually. Not because of a lack of feels, but because I kinda knew where it was going (someone gave me a hint! ;) If you did cry with Endings, I don't blame you- I got a bit choked up reading the letter from a knight near the end.
Parting is such sweet sorrow, but it is worth it. A wonderful fantasy adventure with a dash of romance, just how I like it!

Oh. My. Goodness. This is without a doubt my favorite book in the series. I love all of the characters and how they were developed. And the ending!!!!! I was all set for a tragic ending-either with Britt dying, Mordred turning evil, Camelot falling, or she being sent back to the future on her own. The most I hoped for was Merlin would somehow find his way to the future to be with her. But the ending was better than I could have imagined. It was a beautiful plot twist that I couldn't have imagined, and it truly made my day. This series is brilliant.

This entire series of seven books can easily be binge-read in a few hours. It's Arthurian-fantasy, with the what-if-Arthur-was-a-girl premise.
I enjoyed reading it. The series builds well and ends well. I would think that it's best read as books 1-3, books 4-6, and book 7 (a trilogy) as opposed to seven books.
I own these now, and I don't know if I would ever re-read them, but they are cheap, easy, fast reads for someone who just needs a fantasy fix.

actually enjoyed the second half of the book and liked how it turned out to be. the first part tho, not so much. but to be honest, in overall, it was rather a poor story.
recap:
so it started with britt, idiotically, volunteer to be a bait and then she got kidnap by none other than duke Maleagant, who unbelievably didn't realize that it was arthur. seriously, this people have problem with deciphering human face, they couldn't realize that britt was definitely a women, and duke couldn't even realize that britt was actually king arthur, not Guinevere, sigh. and then they stumbled upon the invading Roman army, Maleagant's father suddenly offer Arthur an alliance, and maleagant acted like spoiled brat. and then they wondered around, spying on the roman army, met lady ettard and sir palleas (this part, i think, was completely useless), retrieve some enchanted necklace, and then britt angered lancelot (it was definitely a heart-to-heart conversation, she told him how she really felt), lancelot betrayed britt to viviane by telling her about the stupid scabbard who prevented her from bleeding, viviane found britt's wandering party, stole the scabbard, merlin chased her, britt got back, met the roman's ambasador, making alliance with other kings (king of ireland, king of scotland, and lots more, i forgot), and then they prepared for battle (they can not call it war, it was only one battle and i believe it was only an 1 hour, even less, it was so quick). and then the battle started and finnish quickly, britt killed the roman king, and when they chased the roman soldier out of britain, britt got shot by viviane, merlin went crazy and killed viviane, but no one could save britt so they sent her back through time to the future so modern doctor could save her. and then she continued to live her live when suddenly, she was offered a position in Avalon and met them again (merlin, kay, nymue, morgan, gawain, lancelot, etc, etc). turned out they were locking themself in a cave that bend the rules of time and sometimes came out to redo the spell that's how kay got to be britt's sword teacher and lancelot her ride teacher and called the ambulance when britt got back, and then they invested in apple, got fckin rich, and then planning on take over the world, happy ending.
i think the war was too brief and short, very impossible, and of course they won, but at least this book broke the old tradition of anti-killing.
the last part (when they sent britt back through time, because merlin said it was impossible and Nymue said that the spell killed someone, how could they escape unscathed?) was a bit forced though but i like the plot twist and how the author tried to fit this puzzle piece into the whole story (even though it didn't fit perfectly, so many parts are still unfit, like isn't Guinevere supposed to be with Lancelot? and King arthur was supposed to be crowned king and defeated Rome. and he was supposed to be killed by mordred, if they survived, how could they antagonized mordred?). oh well, it was whatever.

so it started with britt, idiotically, volunteer to be a bait and then she got kidnap by none other than duke Maleagant, who unbelievably didn't realize that it was arthur. seriously, this people have problem with deciphering human face, they couldn't realize that britt was definitely a women, and duke couldn't even realize that britt was actually king arthur, not Guinevere, sigh. and then they stumbled upon the invading Roman army, Maleagant's father suddenly offer Arthur an alliance, and maleagant acted like spoiled brat. and then they wondered around, spying on the roman army, met lady ettard and sir palleas (this part, i think, was completely useless), retrieve some enchanted necklace, and then britt angered lancelot (it was definitely a heart-to-heart conversation, she told him how she really felt), lancelot betrayed britt to viviane by telling her about the stupid scabbard who prevented her from bleeding, viviane found britt's wandering party, stole the scabbard, merlin chased her, britt got back, met the roman's ambasador, making alliance with other kings (king of ireland, king of scotland, and lots more, i forgot), and then they prepared for battle (they can not call it war, it was only one battle and i believe it was only an 1 hour, even less, it was so quick). and then the battle started and finnish quickly, britt killed the roman king, and when they chased the roman soldier out of britain, britt got shot by viviane, merlin went crazy and killed viviane, but no one could save britt so they sent her back through time to the future so modern doctor could save her. and then she continued to live her live when suddenly, she was offered a position in Avalon and met them again (merlin, kay, nymue, morgan, gawain, lancelot, etc, etc). turned out they were locking themself in a cave that bend the rules of time and sometimes came out to redo the spell that's how kay got to be britt's sword teacher and lancelot her ride teacher and called the ambulance when britt got back, and then they invested in apple, got fckin rich, and then planning on take over the world, happy ending.
i think the war was too brief and short, very impossible, and of course they won, but at least this book broke the old tradition of anti-killing.

I'm happy that we finally got a novel sized story for this one!!
I love the twist with Mordred and Lancelot. Lancelot commits yet ANOTHER betrayal against Britt (who would have seen that coming... WHY DID THEY NOT BANISH HIM IN THE FIRST PLACE) and then becomes all shocked and upset when Britt is about to die because of it... like ok buddy.
I was a bit conflicted about the ending. I thought it was a bit weird that so many people traveled to the future to be with her again. While it is funny to think of them as secretly being in her life all this time (for example, Kay as her fencing instructor and teaching her to hate Lancelot, which tbh I thought was a bit unfair to instill in her and caused more problems than it was worth), it did not really make sense for so many to upend their life like that. Merlin, Morgause, and Nimue could have just... waited to see her lol. I especially thought it was weird that Lancelot went with them. And apparently Lancelot time traveling to see her made her respect him more. I was not buying it.
I did think it was funny that we see them trying to buy stocks in Apple (which I feel like happened in a few other books/shows when it comes to time travel and making a fortune-- the one I can think of on the top of my head is Good Omens).

Well that was one action packed final.
Before the climax we have the chance to see Britt and her knights do some quests, so we are eased into the final battle. I have to said that I was sad to see Britt's adventures come to an end. I knew it would come and still I shade some tears.

In this final installment of the King Arthur series, Shea weaves together the final threads to complete the tapestry of the King Arthur legends. Loose ends are resolved and the story comes to a rather satisfying (in my opinion) conclusion.
I appreciated that this particular book from the series was longer than the rest, allowing Shea to spend adequate time on the character and plot development, where some of the other books felt rushed. She could have gone more epic even still, but this one felt comfortable in length and detail. I could see how Shea has grown as an author over the course of this series.
Read the series before you read this book. These definitely need to be read in order. If you want a rather unique version of the Arthurian legends, this is a good series to enjoy. It does have its issues with historical accuracy, but that will only bother the people who have trouble suspending disbelief. This isn’t meant to be historically accurate, but instead it is to be fun. Approach the series with that in mind and you will enjoy it as much as I did.

Okay, the end was a bit of a hit and miss, but it was well done up to the modern-day.
Here is the final book in the King Arthur series and it certainly ends with a bang. It’s a united Britain (other than King Ryence’s lands) as war with Rome looms on the horizon. But who will fight alongside Britt and whose betrayal may drive Camelot to its knees?
The wind up to battle is very well done, along with the battle itself. My issue with the book is how something we’ve been told all along is impossible but then becomes do-able. The fact that there are workarounds for more than one individual was sweet for a HEA but fell flat for me as we get to an in-depth explanation for how the magic works and why, which was clinical.
Why some were allowed forward and had no problem starting a new life was meh in the reasoning, there is a rather lackluster medieval confession at the climax that didn’t stick its emotional landing and the whole “job interview” ending far too big to swallow and felt forced.
Still, I enjoyed the series and I would enjoy reading it again one day.
