Jaggar is a half-wolf, half-mountain lion shifter, but his halves don't make a whole. Instead, they form the beast, a misshapen killing machine that terrifies even the hard-charging wolf shifters of the KSRT, especially after the mauling."Jaggar has tragic down," his friends say about him. His One True Mate, Leilani, is also steeped in tragedy. She's a time-traveler. In fact, our boys in Serenity owe their very future to her. But what she has done for them has robbed her of her sight, and her sanity. When Jaggar and Leilani meet in the forest, her eyes flashing silver, his beast in complete control, it seems only a miracle can keep them together, and alive.
This series has evolved as well as a series should but unfortunately, the direction it has evolved is not a direction my mind is willing to go. Shifter's Paradox, One True Mate 7, was the beginning of the change that would alter this series. When I read "time-traveler" in the synopsis, even after feverishly struggling through OTM7, I stupendously purchased OTM8 hoping for the best. I knew because of the way OTM7 ended, that OTM8 would have to resolve some of the mess left over. What I didn't expect was that OTM8 would be so difficult to read and digest (maybe it's just me).
I initially started or attempted to read this book on April 27, I believe the day after it was released. After several stops and starts, I finally finished the book today, August 30. I have said it before and will reiterate again...I HATE reading time travel stories. I have rarely ever read one that didn't leave me confused trying to keep up with a convoluted plot. Worse still is that many times it appears the author is a bit confused in their storytelling. Night of the Beast is convoluted, repetitive, drawn out, boring, and just plain tedious.
I just wanted this story to be over. I didn't care whether Jagger or Leilani ever came together. I won't go into details because I'd rather not rehash this story in my mind any further. Ladew provided an addendum of sorts to this story as she has for several others--didn't help.
If you're like me and are looking for a straightforward story, hate time travel, and a slow plot, I can't recommend this book but if you must, proceed with extreme caution.
I love this series! It's world is complex and there's so so much to it. Shifters, angels, gods, time travel, other dimensions etc.
This installment was a little frustrating for me but not terrible by any means.
The heroine seemed to spend what felt like forever being... emo? For lack of a better word. It was almost boring for a minute there. It was also really take in the sexy times department. Not even close to hot or even medium. If this was a Taco Bell sauce it'd be mild.
I have mixed feelings when it comes to this story. In previous books Jaeger was the one that I was most intrested in learning more about. The bits and pieces of his past that we got him previous books made me want to know what happened to him and why he is called 'The Beast'. In this book we get to learn a good deal about Jaeger. We got to see glimpses of a his birth, childhood, and his young adult life.
As we delve deeper within the story we start to learn more about the different relationships there are happening within this community. So far we've known about the One True Mates but we don't really know about all of the side characters. That is when the thing I really enjoyed about this story is exploring the different characters that are part of the team and not only the two main characters. The way it was written was not overwhelming at all. There could be times where an author introduces a lot of different points of view and the story line becomes muddled. This did not happened within this book.
We were first introduced to Leilani in Shifter's Paradox we learned little to nothing about her. In my review of that story, https://www.goodreads.com/review/show..., I had a couple issues with the way Evie was handling that only her situation but Leilani's as well. I was very hesitant to read this story because of that issue. I am glad that I did read this story and I think that it helped that I took a couple months off in order to get my head together.
I loved the connection that Jaeger had with Leilani. The both of them were broken and when they got together they help to one another heal. The time traveling stuff was a bit confusing but in the previous book we were introduced to that so I was not surprised.
I felt Jaggar to be complex, torn and divided, in constant pain because of his two animals not really settling inside him. Most including himself call him The Beast, that's how he feels about himself. I just wanted to cuddle and sooth him, since I couldn't do that I'm glad he had Leilani. Both characters have suffered most of their lives, the last book was tough on Jaggar when he thought he had lost his mate, they both deserved some happy. I am glad they have good friends to also step in and help if and when needed. Every book in this series I think to myself Lisa cant top this one, so far she has proved me wrong each time, (thankfully). At times you do need to concentrate a bit during reading this, I mean the time stuff can get you lost if you don't. I didn't have any problems myself since I just soaked it all up and I'm used to watching this sort of thing on TV so it doesn't phase me. I loved all the humour of Timber, Canyon and Trey, they gave some lightness when needed in amongst some very intense scenes, and I look forward to more of them in the future books. As for Trent, well my fingers are crossed that there will be a twist to what's happening with him. Entertaining and enthralling read, had me gripped from the very first sentence, sadly I had to put it down to sleep and go to work or I would have eaten it up in hours. I would quite happily read about all these characters for the rest of my life and not ever get bored. I love all the mystical elements and descriptions of the Meadow, tunnels and the land with all the cabins. I am extremely happy with how this played out and ended, this story is the best yet. This is paranormal in the most fabulous form.
Still hanging in there with this series but I gotta say I am SO FREAKING TIRED of the drama of CLAIMING their OTM. Why can't anyone just be ok with doing it?! Always some kind of oh " I don't deserve happiness " and " I'm not ready but we can totally have lots of sex" or "It's not the right time" and oh yeah "I'M NOT WORTHY!" SOOO IRRITATING! Next book is last one out in series, wil try to read it even if it is as annoyingly all about delaying the whole True Mate claiming if for no other reason than to give feedback. I'm not a book basher and if I'm moved enough to leave a review it's almost always positive. That said I believe in honesty and the author has to know at least in my opinion..a reader who's been through the whole series.... it's really getting worse. So sad to have a series go downhill and I really hope this next book turns things around.
Definitely easier to read than OTM7, but it's lost something that I can't put my finger on. I'm not in the same frame of mind that I was after reading OTM1-6. After each of those books, I couldn't wait for the next. Now...It doesn't matter. I'll read the next, if I'm between books. I'm hoping they get back to what made them so interesting before.
This is more of a series so far review than just this book, FYI, also TW for SA in my review.
First, I think this last chapter needs revised. Hearing they’re dancing to an R Kelly song was a little jarring lol this was published in 2018 and all that stuff went down 2019 but just might be a good idea to edit that part lol
I feel like over the course of this series I keep get these unsettling right wing vibes. It shows mostly in the not super subtle prolife stances of the characters and then the almost badass-to-trad wife pipeline for these OTMs.
Earlier in the series we had Ella’s sister being forced to carry a twin pregnancy to term (and give birth naturally) in a coma when they all (fairly) assume she was literally raped into a coma by the devil. Saying we “can’t kill innocent babies”. Then this book discussing Jaeger’s birth, the guy was like “why didn’t you abort” and they said something to the effect of “life wins”. It’s not necessarily not getting the abortion that’s weird, it’s the dialogue surrounding it.
Then with the OTM. I know they’re supposed to help the wolves repopulate but as soon as they mate it’s like they all became so one dimensional. They’re supposed to be badasses with powers but they spend the majority of the time breeding and being mates to the men. Except maybe Rogue. The weirdest thing about this is that it’s openly pointed out multiple times yet doesn’t change lol which is weird. I hope they are used more to their full potential in later books.
I also noticed that the OTM prophecy states that the half angel women can choose any mate and once she chooses she is bound to that one man. However, every book so far has been specifically just that wolf’s mate. Which is fine but it makes the prophecy seem wrong. Is that just for the KSRT? Or is it gonna be like that forever?
Lastly, I feel like the humor in these books can be cringey and sometimes out of place. It feels a lot like the authors humor being put on these characters and then it doesn’t really match that character.
I’m rereading these right now. I read them first years ago when they were on Audible Escape. It’s not a bad series and there are parts I enjoy but it’s not really a favorite. I came back to it cause I was remembering Bruin’s book and wanted to reread it. I’ll finish up the series but this time it’s not as good as when I first read it.
He's the beast half cat/half wolf Jagged is suffering but his true mate is here the time tracker whose trying to help in this right book. Please read on order to fully enjoy the series
Leilani Kaina, a One True Mate and mate to Jagger, she was a time traveler. She was the one that helped Eventine and Harlan (SHIFTER'S PARADOX) get a second chance at their happily ever after. She also made sure the members of KSRT had a future to look foward to.
Now she was in danger of becoming blind also her mate was hurting and she didn't know what to do to help him.
Jagger Lockport, a half-wolf, half-mountain lion shifter who couldn't get his halves to form a whole. Instead they formed the Beast, a powerful and destructive weapon who scared even his KSRT teammates.
He was lost and yearned for his mate Leilani whom he'd met in the preview book when Harlan rescued her from an asylum. After somw time he returned back home just in time for him and his mate to officially meet for the first time.
But their encounter was a bittersweet one, Leilani was totally blind. That didn't stop her from wanting to get to know Jagger. On the contrary, she wanted to know everything about him. As they discovered things about one another, an event from Lele's sent her running away from the man she loved.
He wasn't about to let her go, he did what he had to do in order to reach her. Leilani and Jagger got their HEA but it wasn't an easy road. Loved the unexpected surprises.
NIGHT OF THE BEAST is the eighth installment in Lisa Ladew's ONE TRUE MATE series. What an amazing, emotional and rollercoaster ride. Fan-freakin-stastic job by Lisa Ladew. 5++++
The Beast is loose and in a murderous rage after being betrayed by the one closest to him!
I do NOT consider this a stand-alone read, as there are reoccurring characters, overlapping / consecutive timelines and overarching themes.
Contains subject matter that may be a trigger or offensive to some including adult language, a couple of semi-steamy intimate scenes and violence details and references to kidnapping / abduction; torture; assault; murder; abortion; mental, physical and sexual abuse; mental illness such as anxiety, depression, thoughts of suicide, hallucinations, etc.; betrayal.
⛔️ If you have not read the previous stories, the following may contain spoilers.
Last chance ….
There are a few grammatical issues including typos (i.e. extra ‘ at the end of don’t), missing or extra inserted words. The world building is better in this story than in OTM7, which almost reads like a duet with OTM8. The two stories fewtures Harlan and Evie (OTM7) and Jaggar and Leilani (OTM8) with their stories very intertwined and dependent upon one another.
I have been working my way through the series and I had been looking forward to Jaggar’s story. There are a few scenes that still need some refinement, but I loved the ending. With only 5 more stories remaining in the series I am excited to catch up with the rest that have been authored as quick as I can.
Here is a high level overview of how the story begins:
Jaggar is known as The Beast (half wolven and foxen, aka large wild dog and big cat). His two sides fight constantly, which has caused him not only a tremendous amount of pain, but altered his physical appearance (one side of his body dark and the other light). He has been told his entire life that he is an abomination that should not exist and that his mother should have aborted him. The leader of his clan tried to murder him when he was born, and when that failed, wanted to bind his animals so they could not shift.
When he was 5 years old his father learned of his existence and took him to live with him. Jaggar was able to learn control that helped with the pain, but he never let his Beast have control, preferring to work with tech.
Leilani is a daughter of the Angel and her gift is time travel. Her abilities are what enabled Evie to be found and brought back to be with her mate, Harlan, after being dead 29 years. Unfortunately there was a price for that, it cost her sight in the real world and she is now blind. She was placed in a mental institution when she was 12. Leilani has been kept medicated for the most part and abused one of the orderlies at the Institution.
She was “rescued” and her body moved to the farm where all the other OTMs are living with their mates. They are hopeful that after the medicine wears off, Leilani will wake up … but she doesn’t want to. She much prefers the unbroken body that feels healthy and pain free while in Rhen’s meadow.
Jaggar knows that Leilani is his mate after he sees her physical self when Evie used her body to check on Bruin. Evie needed to know that there was a chance that Khain wouldn’t win the war like he had in the future (we finally get a little bit of what happened during that time, but I am hoping there will be more details revealed later).
Jaggar doesn’t know about Evie using Leilani’s body, or that is the reason Harlan can’t leave his mates bedside. Then he sees Harlan kiss his mate … on the lips … OMG! Must kill him … NOW! The Best takes control and transitions for the first time and his monstrous claws rip and impales Harlan … Must escape the pain of betrayal and kill the one that betrayed us!
I love this book too. Leilani and Jaggar story was great... I hope the author doesn't mind me using a highlight from her wonderful book...💙💖💙😘 ENJOY YOUR READ💖💖
Harlan shrugged. Laughed. Shrugged again. “He’s got Rhen.” “I can’t believe you said that,” Eventine told her mate. He looked at her and squinted. “Come on, you set me up for it. I thought you wanted me to say it.” She shook her head. He smiled softly at her and kissed her on the tip of her nose. “Sorry. He’ll be fine. I already asked Trevor if he could stay a couple days in Trent’s room. He loves those pups so much. If he doesn’t want to, I’ll get Canyon and Timber to hang out with him. They always keep him entertained.” Eventine went on alert before she knew why she was doing so, before Butterfly filtered the message of a new scent: an unfamiliar wolfen in the building. Harlan pulled away from her, also ready for anything. Before they could shift and investigate, a gray timber wolf bounded out of the back, ears perked, teeth flashing. Jaggar, Eventine thought, not knowing how it happened, but accepting it at once. Leilani came running behind the new wolf, her dress not zipped, her feet bare, a huge smile on her face and her eyes clear and focused, overshooting the doorway in her enthusiasm and almost running into the far wall. No silver. The grey wolf leapt hard, from too far away, but he still hit Harlan in the chest, knocking him over with a joyful wolf noise between a snarl and a bark. Harlan shouted as he went over, but by the time he hit the ground, he was Nowl, his clothes shredded beneath him. Nowl bit down hard on Jaggar’s wolf, tearing at the fur at his throat, pulling him down, a noise almost like a laugh coming from him, if wolves could laugh. The two friends rolled on the tiled floor, under the glittered Enchanted Forest trees, biting at each other, until Nowl broke away and ran so fast he looked in danger of popping a wheelie. Jaggar’s wolf followed. Eventine made her way to where Leilani was and pulled her friend into a hug, feeling so warm inside. Somehow, Leilani and Jaggar had gotten it all. They got the happy ending. They got the fairy-tale. They got everything. She didn’t know how it happened, but she knew why it happened. They deserved it.
Because both main characters had been somewhat involved in the stories since the beginning I had been waiting (impatiently) for their happy ending, I'm really happy with how things ended up, in general it wasn't so easy to pin point how the story would end (besides the obvious HEA) and that made it all the more enjoyable, to see them both fall in love, accept themselves and open up to a future between them.
Last was complex, written so heavy and quite difficult at times to understand or follow, this new book was a little better in that sense. The main female character Leilani (awesome name) evolved nicely during the book, growing up from a weak willed yet well intentioned child, to a rather strong and powerful woman, I liked it. The main male character, Jaggar (I like the name but I'm not a fan of shaved heads) didn't grow as much, I think, it was more a process of understanding himself and accepting himself for who he was, giving his mate the opportunity to know him better and giving himself to love and a future together.
There were lots of drama in this book, sometimes it felt like it was growing and growing like there was something bigger brewing behind it but there was actually very little action or tragedy in this book, not much more than the tragic memories in their past they shared when reunited.
Also, the extra chapters or information on other characters was interesting. Burton and Rhen leave me wondering what will happen when Rhen wakes up, the catamount and the wolf in the meadow leave me wondering what they are and what they mean for the rest of the wolven.... not to mention what will happen with Leilanis power later on, anyway, there were also more time given to Timber and Canyon, Trent and Troy, makes me wonder how things will develop for them. And even thou this characters were given a lot of reading time in this book, I didn't think as if they gave up their own books or ruined the main paring, they were actually nice to read.
Romance trope: shifter Series: One True Mate Length: 294 pages
Plot: Jaggar is the Beast, half wolfen, half felen. He doesn't feel accepted by anyone, including himself, but when he meets his mate, he's even more thrown off-kilter. Leilani is a time traveler who has been back and forth between the Meadow and the real world and is now blind because of her travel and sacrifices. They seem like they should be perfect for each other, but fear is a powerful barrier to being happy and both of them will need to overcome a lifetime of hurt and loneliness.
Commentary: After Bruin's book, this one was my favorite of the series. Jaggar and Leilani were both so incredibly hurt because of their childhoods. In fact, I would like more resolution with Leilani's relationship with her mother. Toward the end, Leilani seemed to be taking the blame for everything that happened to her upon her own shoulders, but I want to know what repercussions the mother faced, because she didn't have to subject Leilani to the "care" she received. Why did she do it? I loved these two characters together though - they seemed to heal the broken parts of each other.
There's was such a sad and trying story but so beautiful and worth it in the end. Jagger fought for his mate, fought for their lives together. Leilani refused to believe that she was deserving of a mate, especially Jagger. Jagger felt like his beast was not deserving of his mate but refused to let her go. He remained with her and followed her where she went to convince her that she could trust his devotion to her. Even though he didn't think that they could ever be mated because of his conflicting animals.
The trip to the meadow was enlightening for both of them and it is there that Jagger and Leilani's lives took a different turn and got another chance at happiness. It is then that they both decided that they would be there for each other.
With the help of the rest of the KSRT, Jagger finally let go and accepted his and Leilani's fate in order to be happy.
Can't wait for Troy's story. Love Troy!! The guy is hilarious, as are Timber and Canyon. The part in the Salvation Army was hilarious!!!!
Highly recommend the entire series. Never get tired of reading what is going on with the other KSRT members and their mates.
There are some really fun parts in this story. And at the same time, both main characters have some serious tragic past stuff going on. It doesn't quite reach the sadness level of the last book but I had some tears. They are a super sweet couple.
I especially loved Timber and Canyon. They are hilarious and unexpected. The plot device of having her in the room with them as a way to unfold the story was really well done. It gave us a way of seeing what is happening with Trent without disrupting the story. And Troy is a hoot.
I also like the time travel as a way for them to get to know each other.
Great funny lines with Timber and Canyon,
“Ooh, I’ll tell Wade. He’ll throw a fit. It’ll be more fun than telling Trevor, because if I tell him he’ll be mad for a second and then a baby will puke on him and he won’t even remember what we said.”
And this one,
“I miss Jaggar.
Timber threw something small at him. A pen maybe. It clattered off the wall behind him. “He’s got a mate now. Your sorry ass is gonna have to find one soon, so you can get together for pinochle on Friday nights.””
The whole scene with Troy buying clothes was absurd and fabulous.
Jagger and Leilani both have had difficult pasts to deal with. Jagger has his duel personality/body of being half catamount and half wolf split right down the middle. Leilani has been in an institution since she was twelve and was drugged out of her mind most of the time since she five. They each believe that they are worthless. He has been called an abomination or monster enough times that he believes it. She thinks she is broken, her mind shattered and that she is weak. They both believe in the other person so strongly that together they are able to overcome many obstacles. We visit the meadow quite a bit. We also learn more about Canyon and Timber as well as Trent and Troy. Rest assured that's enough though we have time travel in this book, it is easy to follow. So jump on into this book and see for yourself. I recommend that you start with book one of the series of you haven't started yet. You will understand things better that way. Happy Reading!
This fast paced story involves angels, shifters and time travelers and is fascinating. Jagger, is a shifter who is both mountain lion and wolf,. Known as the Beast, he's vicious and unpredictable in that form. Jagger is an intelligent loner alienated from family and friends. Leilani is half angel and human and a time traveler. Most her life has been spent in institutions, drugged and isolated, because of her "powers." Her friend, Eventine, is the key to bringing the legend together and she may just bring all the legends to fruition. This story of star crossed lovers, Jagger and Leilani, is gripping, tearing through time, their pasts and their future. They are truly a mesmerizing and magnetic couple. The side gambits with Troy, Trent, and goofballs Timber and Canyon are a real hoot. Excellent interaction between all the characters providing insight and foreshadowing of the intense adventures yet to come in this superior series.
OMG...what can I say except this book is an amazing thrill ride and you just have to hang on and give it your best shot. Jaggar is one of my favorite characters of all time. He may think he is a beast but what a gentle soul he has. He lives to be loved and he never has known a lovers touch. Once he accepts Leilani as his true mate his heart opens to the possibility of a normal life. He is so tortured and accepting at the same time. Lisa Ladew writes characters that you feel as if you know. They are fully rounded flaws and all. OMG Leilani empowers strength like I've never seen. Character development and exacting detail will keep you enticed and enthralled to keep turning page after page hoping with all your heart that Jaggar and Leilani get the HEA ending they deserve. You will not put this book down until it is finished. Be prepared to be amazed by the writing prowess of Ladew as she astounds you.
OTM8 puts Jagger in the spotlight - he's the shifter who should not have been, a half-wolf/-half big cat Beast who knows only pain and conflict. Jagger knows only too well how unwanted and unloveable he is. Leilani is Jagger's One True Mate - the half-human/half angel made just for him. She's also a time traveler, and it's basically ruined her life. In fact, her own mother had her committed to an institution and abandoned her at age 12. She too knows how unwanted and unloveable she is. Rhen, the shifters' goddess, gives them only one chance to be together, with this bit of advice:
"It is not lack of intelligence that makes people reject divine gifts. It is lack of believing they are worthy of divine gifts."
Ladew, Lisa. One True Mate 8: Night of the Beast (Kindle Locations 2590-2591). Heat Publishing LLC. Kindle Edition.
Truer words were never written. Thank you, Lisa Ladew.
Ok, it's official. This is my favorite of the series so far. I just love a tortured soul that gets redemption and... boy, does Jaggar fit that description. I love how the author took both characters on a journey of discovery... discovery about themselves and each other... discovery of who they were with each other. These two characters have had traumatic and heartbreaking lives. They have lived through some truly terrible pasts. Together they had to learn how to not only survive but to thrive. I also really like how the author wraps their story up in the end. There were a few moments when I just wanted to throttle my ipad, but there were also a few moments when I couldn't stop laughing. I was getting worried about Trent, but luckily the author addressed that at the end of the story. I'm so enthralled by this series and I can't wait to read more. Off to see if the next book, Trent's story, has been released yet.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶🌶🌶 HEA Time Travel Slow Burn They Fall Together Trigger Warning: SA Trigger Warning: Physical Abuse Trigger Warning: Psych Ward/Grippy Sock Vacation Trigger Warning: Severe Depression, Talks of Suicide Intentions This was a jumbled plot with time travel, trauma, mental health and depression... but in the end Jagger smiled and got his happy ending. And even the Beast was happy and I cant stop smiling imagining this fearsom, ugly, disfigured creature rolling on its back like a playful labrador puppy. This book was a great build up, just as the last #7, tho I feel we are focused more on the OTM and less on the battle with Kaine though I suppose with 4 more books it is building and the war is coming. The spice is minimal, which in a way is nice as its not over done and repetitive wham bam thank you ma'am. Its mildly spicy with some closed door feelings which is just right. Over all 4 stars, 3 peppers.

This is Jaggar and Leilani’s story. It is as complex as they are, but you cannot expect anything less. You will feel the highs and lows of their journey to becoming true mates. It may even bring you to tears. Be forewarned, once you start this, you will have trouble stopping until you get to the end. As is the case in the previous books, this story is a real page turner.
Lisa Ladew weaves an intense, compelling, and suspenseful tale. There’s intrigue, emotions, and HOT romance. You will truly become involved in each of her stories, finding them hard to put down. You will be effortlessly drawn into and become invested in the lives of her characters. They are well-developed and well-integrated into the whole series.
The outcomes of each of her tales are well worth the ride! I highly recommend this book and series! I can't wait for Troy's story next!!
What can I say about Jaguar and Lalani...this book had me from the start and I lost some serious sleep well reading it. In the last book you really only saw the tip of the claw of what the "beast" and his mate have been through to get to where they are..so much pain and suffering...but they embody the phrases "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger" and "out of great suffering comes even greater joy". Jaguar has always felt like he's being ripped in two always has a headache but through sheer will he keeps himself together and Lalani has paid a high price for her gifts...I think these two have faced bigger odds then any of the others but they also have a bigger reward...even if there's some sadness in it all. Definitely a great read! And I might have a new mantra after reading this.
They are perfect for each other. Both have gone through some very hard trials in their lives up to this point. Jagger's mantra is "take me to church" to stop the pain and get back to the here and now.
Leilani has to find one to get to Jagger, get rid of the silver and make the clock ⏰go away so she won't time travel when she wants to be in the here and now.
Did she do enough time traveling to fix what she needed to so Jagger would not get kicked out of the KSRT?
They both feel worthless and need the other to feel alive, needed, and loved for who and what they each are. They accept that they are mates but will that be enough for Jagger to get over his fears enough to claim her before it's to late?
I really loved this book and I know you all will to. Five huge stars from me.
WHOOP !! WHOOP !! ANOTHER PHENOMENAL BOOK BY LISA LADEW 👏👏
O..K. Let's start by saying that "OMG" One True Mate Book #8 was 💯% worth the wait !! It was just AMAZING !! ANOTHER WONDERFUL BOOK IN THIS SERIES. That I never ever want to end.... " Boy oh ! Boy do I love me some Troy" I'm going to devour book #9 , and try to read it as slow as humanly possible, because it it's going to anything like IT #8, Then Lisa Ladew is upping the ante with each new book in this series !! Your going absolutely love this book. It's probably my favorite this far, well Bruin and Willie's story, if I'm honest with myself is a close the with this one being my favorites!! Thank you Lisa you've hit another Homerun AGAIN !! 🎉🎇👏👏
This is by far one of best in this series. Leilani and Jaggar both broken, both can’t live without the other, and yet being together will never work! Or will it? This beautifully painful love story will take you on a wild ride you’ll never want to get off. I couldn’t put it down. So many unanswered questions I needed to know. Lisa Ladew is pure genius. This series never disappoints. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves paranormal romance. Each book has its own HEA however I recommend reading in order as this series is uniquely complex and would be so much more enjoyable having an understanding of the OTM World. Michael Pauley is brilliant and has grown into these characters so much, that he reads this series like nobody else!!
Hm... I’m trying not to be too critical of this book but it’s a struggle. I really didn’t like lelani. I know the author was going for damaged but I thought she made her seem weak. She kept running away and hiding from everything. I think she was more successful with jagger coming across as damaged but not weak. I got entirely too sick of hearing jagger mutter “take me to church” and every time he said it I thought of the song. I only came back to this series (I stopped after bruins story the first time) because I was interested in troys story. I’m not sure if the author is newer but the books don’t alway flow well. She has great ideas and storylines but the way they play out is weird.
In the 8th story, of her One True Mate series, Lisa Ladew makes us laugh and puts tears in our eyes!
I loved the evolution of Leilani and Jaggar’s relationship. The needs of each comes pouring through her words.
But, tbe perfectly honest, what I can NOT get out of my head is Timber and Canyon’s dialogue throughout the entire book. I still keep breaking up and laughing out-loud, thinking about the comments they made. Completely hysterical!!!!
This was a deep story but silly and fun, just like life. Kudos to Lisa Ladew for having a series where each book is unique and colorful!
I really enjoyed reading this book as I have enjoyed the entire series! I just Loved how Jagger had so much patience, but at the same time maybe he had too much!??? I really enjoyed the closeness between Jagger and Leilaini. BUT, my most favorite part in this book was the Salvation Army scene. OMG, here I am reading this book late at night, everyone asleep, and I read that scene in the book and I brust out laughing nearly chocking because I'm trying to be quiet. Too funny! I really believe everyone who reads this book will truly enjoy it! This book will be recommended to others!
