The interesting part of this book is the character of Seymour Standish, dry goods salesman, Trenton, New Jersey. While Matt and Sam are following a gang that decimated the town of Buckskin, Seymour is being sent to Sweet Apple by his uncle to make sure he is eliminated as an heir. Seymour immediately is tagged with the title “Biggest Coward in the West.” The story is a good one with plenty of action and a good bit of humor.
I like Matt and Sam ... they are true white knights roaming the west and ridding it of the bad guys. In this story they help a coward from New Jersey grow into the job of Marshal and save the town of Sweet Apple, TX. A different slant on the wild west and very entertaining.
Great read, I love the books by the Johnston’s every one you read keeps you turning the pages to see what happens next. This was a great read. Look forward to more new books. Thank you Mrs. Jo for a awesome read.
Another great story with Matt and Sam. They really helped a very quiet man become a town marshal. Someone who was always afraid of everything. They gave him confidence.
Another good book with Mat and Sam. I found it might’ve been a little too much in the middle regarding Seymour “ Lilly Liver”. Overall a good fun western read. It seems there’s at least three other books that will come out of this one after it seem to leave three open with no closure.
This was interesting because Matt and Sam weren't the main character. I read out of order, but it was cool seeing how Semor came to be. I really should attempt to read things in order when I can.
The Mass Market Paperback was released only with 320 pages, missing 128 pages which was later corrected by the publisher and good luck finding the corrected 448 page version.
Not even close to being as good as the previous 10 books from the series or even written in the style that made William a legend in the Western genre. Matt and Two-Wolves aren't even the main story line. This easily could have been book one in the Marshall Seymour Standish series, with Matt and Two-Wolves written in the story line and it would have been decent read. But as much as I like the Smoke Jensen series, I equally like the Blood Bond series and it sucks to see the series tank so badly.
