Shark and Peregrine are back and the bad guys better beware, because these two are out to take a bite out of crime, but who are the bad guys and who are the even “badder” guys? Just because someone wears a badge, they aren’t necessarily batting for law and order. Will these two get caught in the crossfire? Will Shark’s cover be blown? How will he move up in “The Organization” while chasing down bad guys as he pretends to be one, himself? I know, I know, the webs we weave and all that, but Shark does have a secret weapon, Peri, whether he likes it or not…

Bethany Maines has struck reading gold once again with SHARK’S BITE and I couldn’t be happier! Humor, heart, a touch of forbidden romance, tons of action, bad guys being bad, good guys being bad and did I mention Peri being Peri? What a story as usual. Shark is trying to stay away from Peri, but things are happening and he needs help. Fast paced and intriguing.

Another amazing read. This is the second book in the Shark Santoyo Crimes Series and it was just as amazing as the first. Shark is making a somewhat legit living with the bowling alley and Peri is still fixing things. Shark has made a deal with the FBI and has a fake parole officer, but all is not what it seems. Peri is still trying to take down a human trafficking ring and putting on the facade of a normal teenage girl. I loved Peri. She is a bad a$$. I want to be her when I grow up even thought I am twice her age. She saved Shark with some killer😀 moves. I can tell her and Shark are meant to be. Their chemistry and interactions are perfect. Unfortunately Shark has really stepped in it with his fake PO. She is going to be a problem. I love the flash backs, they really add to the story. I usually don't like going back in time because it usually is too drawn out and I just want to get back to the present, but Bethany did it perfectly. I am interested to see what happens with uncle Al. I understand his worry, but Peri is more than capable of taking care of herself. I also think Peri needs to break up with Trey, I get more of a friendly love vibe not a romantic one with them, and also the connection of shared traumatic loss. I'm mad at myself for reading this so fast because what do I read now? I can't wait for the third book.

What a brilliant piece of fiction! Humorous, nail-biting, unexpected plot twists, with a host of truly likeable gangsters from Shark himself, to all of his crew, and to the delectable Peri. I'm not going to give anything away here, simply urge you read the entire series and then feel all warm inside at truly great writing, plots and characters. Great stuff Bethany and keep it up, I look forward to October and Shark's Hunt :)

Read this second installment in a weekend, I got so into it. The action is awesome, and so is the dialogue and characterization. Heck, I loved it all, especially Peri. Talk about kick-ass! We learn more about Shark and Peri in this story. Who knew I’d like stories about the mob? Turns out I do. I’ll be waiting for the third one in this series.

I really enjoyed following along with the ongoing adventures of Shark and Peri, and this book continued to have great humor and action in it. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the series.
