This book touched my soul. Not only did I enjoy reading it, my spirit was also strengthened. It is a novel that puts "faces" and "emotions" to the chronicle and doctrine that perhaps we have already read and heard about premortal life, the purpose of our existence and eternal destiny. This perspective allows us to reflect and feed our perceptions. I recommend it very much.
This has been my favorite book for years on end. I have read it so many times, I have parts of it memorized! I can really see myself like the little girl in heaven, the one whom Mother has to keep mending the dress of because I've torn it doing something silly. I love the ideas present here, from the pre-existence to resurrection, I can really buy into it. Losing Leah in the book was hard, but I have known people like that and it puts a new spin on how I deal with them here on earth. Again, this fiction book is able to convey so many truths! One of my favorite ones is when she is getting ready to come to earth, and she is in her "interview" with Father and Brother. She agrees to the hard path that is presented before, but asks a terrific question: Which path is better? The one that climbs, or the one that is level. Father answers her, "Oh my Child," the one that climbs is the best one, because it makes you grow more. He promises to be with her on that climb. The whole interview scene brings tears to my eyes. I also really feel the sorrow that went through Heaven as Brother came to earth, and the people on earth were hurting him so badly that Father had to walk away to the darkest reaches of Heaven to cry. Oh yes, I highly recommend reading this cute story. It's a fast and easy read, but will stay with you, in your heart forever.
