Save a fire truck. Ride a firefighter. Isn't that what they say? Ben Riggs says he loves me. He says he hasn't stopped thinking about me since he broke my heart and chased me out of town all those years ago... I say liar liar pants on fire. And boy, do those bright yellow, flame-resistant fireman pants look good on him. I'm aching to feel those big, rough hands clenching on my hips and to collect on the illicit promises burning in his dark blue eyes. Self-control goes up in flames every time he flashes that arrogant smile. So I give in—because a woman has needs. (Am I right, ladies?) He can have my body but my heart is off-limits. I've worked hard over the past few years to prove to myself that I can be successful without him in my life. But Ben says he won't stop until he wins me back—mind, body and heart. He says I'd better stop trying to resist him. He may be a fireman but I'm the one fighting like hell against the inferno of lust and nostalgia closing in on us. And it's a fight I can't afford to lose... Hot Boy is a steamy, laugh-out-loud second chance, firefighter romance set in small town Illinois. It is book 4 in the Blue Collar Bachelors series.

A hot, sexy firefighter and the nerdy doctor he foolishly sent away

Hot boy is a wonderful and well written second chance rom-com by the awesome talent that is Cassie-Ann L. Miller. Having read and loved the Dirty Suburbs series, I knew that this would be an enjoyable, easy to read and engaging story. Some of the stories really tear at my emotions and others are like coming home and being wrapped in a warm and loving hug. This was more of the hug type, though it certainly had it's angst and issues to work through too.

Ben and Angie were high school sweethearts, set on the white picket fence, the gaggle of kids and the happily ever after. Until Ben broke Angie's heart and she ran as far and as fast from Copper Heights as she could manage. She was determined to stay away, until a work place faux-pas with the boss's boss's boss's not yet ex-husband made that impossible. The first day of her new job she bumps into the very last person she ever wanted to see, sexy firefighter Ben Riggs.

What follows is a wonderful tale of battling broken hearts, unrestrained lust, second chances and love. Angie and Ben are just so down to earth and goddamn normal, which is what I love about Ms Miller's books. Her characters could be neighbours or friends, they're just normal people bogged down with the minutiae of real life. The story just drew me in and I didn't want to put the book down until it was finished.

There are some wonderful side characters that add depth and extra interest to the book. Angie's sister Sophie has appeared in a few of the other books. The epilogue gives me great hope for at least two more amazing books, one for Sophie and another for Ben's brother Madden.

There are only a couple of s*x scenes, they are quite full on though not crude. Other than this the story is very inoffensive and is one I am happy to recommend to family and friends.

Aww, this wonderful book has ALL the feels! Angie is back in her hometown after a disastrous error in judgment, but she quickly realizes that her sister needs her and her heart really needed to come home. Except, Ben is still there. And he still wants her. Despite the way he ripped her heart out seven years ago. He's trying to make it up to her, but Angie is determined not to make the same mistake again.

This is one of the better second-chance romances I've read. The reasons behind their initial split felt realistic, and the fall-out was handled in a believable manner. Angie's relationship with Ben's mom had me in tears a couple times. So sweet. Their HEA was hard-fought and well worth waiting for, and it was so nice to get a little more time with Sophia. I can't wait to read more about her phoenix-like journey. While I did receive an ARC of this book, I loved it so much I purchased it right away.

This was a short easy fun listen! The narrators were great! Torn Thom may just be an all new top narrator listen for me! Man that man’s voice is swoony hot! 🥵

The story was great Ben Riggs is a fireman and run into is high school love Gigi at the one place he never excepted. Back home in their hometown. He realizes instantly nothing is more important than her and he will do everything to prove that to her. He has some pretty big secrets he is keeping from her , specifically why he broke her heart. But Gigi is not the same girl she once was. She has grown up and she isn’t going to just take everything sugar coated anymore.

I've been making my way through the Blue Collar Bachelors series and I have to be honest, this was probably the book I was least excited about. I don't really like second chance romance, and we hadn't previously met the main characters Angie and Ben, so I wasn't that invested in their story. Even though I probably wouldn't have picked this up had it not been part of this series, I did end up really enjoying this way more than I thought I would.

Angie is the sister of Sophia (who is best friends with Reece, from the first book). She is a recently qualified doctor who moves back to her hometown after being kicked out of her residency. Ben was Angie's first boyfriend, first love, first everything. He broke her heart 7 years ago when he ended things with her after he got a chance to be in a boy band. He is now a firefighter, and the second he sees that Angie is back in town, he is determined to win her back.

This book was more angsty than the previous books in the series, which I think is just a given with a second chance, but it wasn't overly so, and the book still kept its overall light-hearted feel. Although I'm not a big second chance romance fan, I do love a good grovel, so I was really satisfied on that front. Ben was a swoony hero who had a genuine reason for his past actions, and I loved how dedicated he was to Angie 😍

I did miss some of the other characters from the previous books in this (Reece, Nova, Vivian, Charlie, etc.) but we did get a few mentions and cameos here and there, and I liked how much Sophia was featured. I'm super excited for her story and really intrigued about where it will go.

Hot Boy is the fourth book in the Blue Collar Bachelors Series and it’s all about having that second chance at love. Angie is returning home after seven years away, and on her first boring day at her new job, she runs into her ex, the only man she’s ever loved and the man who shattered her heart. Ben has a bright firefighting career, is a homeowner, but the rest of his life is on autopilot. That is, until he sees Angie again. Their passion flares as hot as ever, but can Ben rekindle Angie’s love for him, even as his biggest secret is revealed?

Ms. Miller has this amazing ability, not only to write a book that’s moving, relatable, and funny, but she also creates characters that you just wish were your best friends, she creates a suburb that you wish you lived in, and she makes her books constantly better than the previous one! I loved Angie and Ben’s story. There was a lot of heartache, but also a ton of love and hope. Angie was so determined not to make the same mistakes again, while Ben was determined that she would be his again, forever this time! I definitely laughed out loud, I might have teared up a bit, but I loved this book and highly recommend this series to any romance lover!!

Funny Moments with a Little Meta

Had some funny moments (especially in the hospital about 3/4 of the way through, where the hero’s mother breaks some personal news that you wouldn’t expect) but overall, felt scattered, like the pieces were all there, but the puzzle wasn’t quite aligned and put together. Things were brought up (see above) for example, that only made temporary problems that weren’t dealt with again. Conflicts resolved too quickly (and didn’t seem to build up). Personality flaws (man-whoring) that were made a big deal about in the beginning...petered out and weren’t mentioned again. A secondary character is made out to be one way, and then we’re told he’s actually something else, even though we heard otherwise, thereby negating the author’s conflict set-up. (Why?)

I wasn’t ever sure if I *liked* the heroine, and I’m not sure why. She felt like a collection of personality traits. I didn’t get a real bead on her. I’ve already gone and purchased all the books in this series (and read this one first) so, hopefully I won’t feel as disconnected by the story in the earlier ones.

All this said, other readers probably won’t have the same reaction I had. And the writing is good, too, with good line editing. Onward!

I’m so upset by this author that I’m burning up writing this. The author starts by saying I received a free copy because I volunteered to write a review so I am reviewing this version. I received it the day before release. Also the arc copy did not contain the epilogue! She said it’s not a marketing ploy yet the epilogue will be included in the version for sale. She states buying a copy should be an added perk to support her continuation to write! Well my time is more valuable than to just drop everything to read a version that I then have to buy to get the ending. If it’s not a marketing ploy I’d like to know what value to me the sales are. It sure isn’t going to add to my income. I understand author’s write to “sell” books but really. I am giving her one star since she did declare this at the beginning of the book and not at the end! There are plenty of author’s and more than enough stories to read. I know I could have ignored the whole thing and hope she just had no reviews but I just can’t ignore marketing gimmicks. I’m not reading nor am I buying anymore of this author’s work and this is my voluntary review of this version of the story.

I have read and reviewed all the books in the Blue Collar Bachelor series. They are all five star reads and “Hot Boy” is no exception. I fell in love with the story from the first page and was so captivated I couldn't put it down. Angela Gallo is back in town to complete her internship at the local hospital after an embarrassing situation at her former hospital. Benjamin Riggs is the hot fireman who broke her heart years ago. The chemistry between them remains smoking hot and they are still in love. Afraid of being hurt again Angela decides that a purely sexual relationship (no feelings involved) is what she wants. Benjamin has other ideas and is intent on winning her back. Why did Benjamin walk away from Angela seven years ago? Can Angela move passed the hurt and give Benjamin a second-chance? If you're looking for a superbly written second-chance story with explosive chemistry, heart-break, forgiveness, and tons of romance “Hot Boy” is for you. One-click for an entertaining reading experience.

I read this book as part of an arc program. This was the second chance romance between Ben and Angie. Ben and Angie dated when they were in high school and had plans to eventually get married until Ben broke up with her without a real reason, except he wanted fame and fortune. Ben was competing on a reality show with his boy band and he broke Angie's heart. Angie left and went to Harvard where she became a doctor. Angie was working as an intern when she was fired when she got caught with another doctor in a store closet and had to return to her hometown in shame. Ben became a fireman and was looking forward to a promotion when he saw Angie. He was floored to see her and realized how much he still feels for her. Ben tries to apologize to Angie and wants her back, but she can't trust him. Ben is determined to win her back and Angie just wants closure. I loved this story. I loved Ben and how he really loved Angie and wanted to do anything to prove how much he loved her. Another great one from Cassie.

Angie has returned to her hometown of Copper Heights, with her head hung low. Her bright shining star has fizzled when she committed career suicide and slept with her boss' husband. Now the once-promising doctor is back in the ER of her small town to complete her medical internship, as well as help her soon-to-be single mom sister. Angie does not plan on rekindling anything with her high school boyfriend, Ben Riggs...the one who broke her heart and caused her to flee.
Ben Riggs is shocked when her learns that Angie has returned to town. He has regrets of the way that he ended things with Angie before they graduated and he plans on making things right. But Ben wants forever with Angie and she only wants a friends with benefits deal. Can Ben prove to Angie that his love is real and change her mind? What will she do when she discovers the real reason that he broke her heart? Is there ad HEA in store for this couple or a HFN?
Good story and great narration team. Worth the read/listen

I absolutely love this cover first of all! I've read a few of Cassie-Ann's books, mainly the "Dirty" series and I've enjoyed them. This is the first one I've read in the Blue Collar Series and it probably won't be the last! Ben Riggs...wow...smokin' damn hot! I love how the book had humor in it so there were times I was laughing out loud. There was also depth to it too though and that's always needed in a romance book. This is a second chance romance, so Ben and Angie have a past. They dated in high school but he broke things off to supposedly go pursue his career with a boy band...yes...kinda cheesy but it is what it is. Well, Angie left town but is back and Ben wants to win a second chance with her. Their attraction to each other seems to be the same, but with good reason, Angie is wary of giving Ben another shot. Did I mention he's a hot fireman? No? Okay, he's a hot fireman! And he doesn't give up that easily! I simply adored this book and was rooting for this couple the entire time! Highly recommend!

I forgot to write my review when I finished. But honestly, it took me so long to finish this audio book (10 days) that I think that says more about the book than anything I forget now.

I wasn't the biggest fan of Angela. She held onto that heartbreak from her HIGH SCHOOL boyfriend way too long to really make me feel as though she matured. I mean they were so young, come on, don't hold onto that old hurt from a teenager. Then she lost her residency job because she slept with her boss. Yeah, not earning respect points from me on that one.

Ben's reason for breaking up with Angela ended up being very disappointing. It was supposed to be a huge deal, but it really wasn't in the end. Given his age at the time though, just like Angela, I have to remember that he was just a teen and teens make stupid but forgivable mistakes oftentimes.

Because Angela kept Ben at arm's length for much of the book, I really wasn't on Team Bangela. This series has been a rollercoaster of quality and even though I'll continue reading, I really wish it was consistent.

I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review. An amazing book. It was written in a way that could identify with the main character Angie. Seven years ago when she was seventeen her boyfriend Ben broke up with her and broke her heart. She felt she was not good enough for him. Left for college and became a doctor. Due to circumstances and shame she had to leave NYC and go back to her home town to work at the local hospital. In that time away she became independent but not in love. She was full of resentment and anger at Ben. Ben never got over her and held a secret of why he had to break up with her. He felt if she knew she would look at him as scum. Now that she is back he'll do whatever it takes to make her his. A lot of emotion in this story. The ups and downs of Angie and Bens relationship. There were side stories full of loyalty and love. But Ben and Angie's relationship was HOT and Passionate.

Can I please place one express order of Ben Riggs?

What’s not to love

✅ Firefighter
✅ Sexy
✅ Dirty Talker
✅ Runs into a burning building to save a hamster
✅ Loves his Mum
✅ Did I mention firefighter

Oh yeah, and the once notorious playboy who could barely remember his one night stands names actually is a hopeless man in love with his high school sweetheart whose heart he once broke.

This book was amazing!

I loved that Angela didn’t cave and as soon as Ben batted his eyelashes and turned on the charm that oozes out of him. She did better than I would have in that situation- she made him work for it and prove that the boy she once knew grew into a decent man. One, it would be worth risking her heart on again.

I need to know more about Madden Riggs (Ben’s hot cop brother) as well the rest of the Riggs family...

Depending conections

Ben is an an amazing firefighter. Angie is a Dr. Angir and Ben were boyfriend/girlfriend until one day they were not. Angie was only 17 when one day they was walking back to Ben's place when he told her it was over with no explanation as to why. So she went away to college. Well she ends up back in her home town. When she see's Ben again all the old feelings come back. But she has to protect her heart. Ben does everything possible to get Angie to see him again There attraction to one another is very strong. Angie fights it for a really long time Ben about gives up on her. This book was an amazing read. I cou I'll d not put this book down. I wanted to cry from time to time. I felt bad for each of the characters for different reasons. This book is a must read Great job on this book Cassie-AnnL Miller

Extremely Hot Firefighter

I have loved every book in the Blue Collar series and adored Hot Boy a second chance romance. Cassie Ann L. Miller never disappoints in fact her superb reads just get better and better. All Cassie’s books have the right amount of funny, sassy characters with lots of hot steamy scenes. You laugh and you cry all at the same time. Ben the hot firefighter is overjoyed when Angie the love of his life returns to Copper Heights. Ben just wants to prove to her that he really loves and is determined to make her his! But will their secrets from the past destroy their chance of attaining their second chance? This was quite an emotional read in parts especially with the love Angie shows for Ben’s mom. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC for a honest opinion.

Angie is back in town after things took a nose dive at her previous hospital that left her career back at square one and reputation now questionable. If that isn't bad enough Ben her first love who broke her heart is still in town and now a sexy firefighter, but she can resist him right? I really loved Annie as I get she made a mistake and she is trying to make the best of a bad situation and she gets to be with her sister Sophia (who we have met via previous books in the series) who by now is heavily pregnant and all alone. There are plenty of emotions in this one, not just for Ben and Angie, but her family and his and this is what keeps me hooked on these books as the world building is freaking great! I hope we get to see Sophia next because that girl well and truly needs her HEA!

If you've read Lover Boy: A Military Single Dad Next Door Romance, you will remember Sophia. The girl who's left at the altar. The girl who's pregnant with her ex fiancé baby. AND now she needs her sister more than ever when their parents are so disappointed with her. AND came Angela aka Angie. She's back after some scandal left her with no hospital wanting to hire her.

So truth to be told, I was kind of expecting more. The secrets that Ben kept from Angie all these years. What is really going on. Well, it is kind of meh to me. But I do like Sophia a lot. She's strong and she's a fighter. Even she's being dumped by her fiancé, she still believes in love and she will find her love one day.

If there's a book about her, that'd be great.

Who doesn't love a big hot firefighter? Swoon. There is so much hotness in this book my Kindle almost caught fire. This book is a fantastic mix of steamy hotness and humor, and I loved the characters. This series is so fun to read.
Ben and Angela were high school sweethearts, but they have a painful break up that deeply hurts them both. When they reunite years later, Angela is scared to trust Ben. She keeps him at arms length, but their chemistry is drawing them together. Can she ever trust him again?
Great book. Ben and Angela will keep you laughing and fanning yourself through every page. Read this book!!

I enjoy Cassie-Ann L. Miller's writing. This book missed the mark for me. I'm afraid I struggled to like one of the main characters. I switched back and forth between the audiobook and the ebook and I'm afraid that listening to the audiobook might have contributed to my struggles with liking the FMC. I own the omnibus version and the single audiobook. I realized that through listening to the audiobook and reading the ebook that somehow the wedding chapter was missing. I'm not sure if that was just my copy or if that's true for everyone. I'm going to keep reading the books in the series! I know not every story hits the same, but I'm not giving up. I've enjoyed other stories in the series.

A good read

So I’ve been reading through the series almost as fast as my kindle can download them :) and I’m loving this community! I love seeing how the characters grow, and the stories develop, and how each book is a little plait if an epilogue for the earlier books!

There are several editing errors in this book - defence instead of defense multiple times, and a few other small things that need a second look, but this is te first time I’ve caught these types of errors in her writing, so I’m hoping it’s a one time, easy fix! :)

An enjoyable second chance romance read!

I have not been disappointed since I started reading this series and Hot Boy is hot, sexy and oh so good. Giving a second chance to your first love is hard, but giving them your trust again is harder and this story gives us Ben and Angela’s journey to forgiveness, love and happiness. One click this romance read that will give you the feels that this author is known for and doesn’t disappoint.

5 Hot Boy stars!

Ms. Miller sure knows how to write a good book! I have loved every one in this series that I've read so far! The reunited lovers theme is a tricky one for me, mainly because depending on the original reason the couple breaks up, I might not be up for a reunion. But luckily that wasn't the case here! Ben and Angie were truly meant to be and it might have taken some time, but they found their way. I really enjoyed this story!!

Attempted to read this twice. Got further this time all the way to chapter 3. Believed I liked the other books of the series. Just couldn't get with this one. Cringe worthy already for me. He really was so enamored that he left a podium. Idk just don't like the vibe of this book. I think because others was so good. This one vibes feel very different. Will update my review if I actually come across again and can stomach it

A powerful and emotional second chance romance. Angela and Ben's story is very moving and also realistic. These high school sweethearts had a rough and painful breakup and now years later Ben wants a second chance. Can they move beyond the anger, pain and distrust? Read this book to find out. I'm posting a completely honest, voluntary review after reading this book.
