This is something about self-expression--something they don't teach in school. Something that's very hard to learn on your own. This is something about putting yourself first because it's okay to love yourself before anyone else. This is something about doing what's best for you, no matter what people say, because only you know what you deserve. This is something about being real, being real to who you are and accepting things as they come and change. This is something about your mistakes, about your flaws, and about how beautiful it is to get up and try again. This is something about being you, about using your voice when you're afraid. About building enough courage when you feel like standing up to something you don't believe in, something that's wrong. This is about you, and every day should be about you, and that's something you should always consider.
As far as poetry goes, this wasn't that bad! For me, there were a lot of poems that were oddly long, in ways that it didn't quite make sense why they were 3 pages long when the point was made on the first one, but to each their own.
There was a good mix of positive/negative throughout, which was nice. Sometimes it's a bit much when a poetry book focuses on only one side or the other when it comes to the topic of the poetry. Too much romance can make it feel icky, and too much depression can bring us all down with the story. Neither of which you want, and this one had a good mix.
Overall, it was just fine. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either.
I wasn’t a fan of “Star Theory”. “Moon Theory” was Drake’s best work in this series, and the books just went downhill after it. The content really didn’t seem like poetry, and instead felt like rambling. In addition, some of the “poems” didn’t make sense and there were several grammatical errors throughout the book.
The words M. Drake used or the way the words were placed on the paper weren't special or extraordinary, sometimes it didn't even feel like poetry. Just sentences spread out over multiple lines. But he knows what's up and how a lot of people are hurting and I think that's special. I did really need to hear some of the condiments he wrote about.
I love the way that I can feel the words being said and how they can be so meaningful. I love how it has a bunch of self love in it and reminds you self love is needed.
I needed every word in this book. It was exactly what I was looking for. It provided strength and encouragement in a heartbreaking situation. I’ll come back to these poems over and over again!
Some of my favorites: .Must Happen .Who Falls .Where it began .Feelings On .Something Crazy .No Prayers .Right People .Sometimes You Do .Fault .Senses .Your Heart .Time & Time .I can admit this
This was exactly what I needed right now self expression is everything in my job and my hobbies so it was great to get a different sort of perspective. And even though I wasn't upset or anything before reading this I felt 100% better afterwards
