EMP

This is one of the best and most realistic survival series out there. With the way people are acting. Almost makes you appreciate the thin blue line. In any case, it was confusing as to why Max ran off to save a boy across state lines. I guess in a survival situation you do things that you think are right.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Lots of action with little slow time. The characters are good and the constant defense is taking a mental toll on them too.
This is another good read by a talented wordcrafter. I highly recommend this good read.

Probably the best book in the series thus far. A lot of action, as usual, but with a lot more character development. I really liked how the sociological aspect was brought more into the forefront in this book. Fast paced page turner - worth the read!

The series continues to keep me on the edge of my seat. The characters continue to draw me in and make me gasp at ever turn. Ready for the next one before I put this one down.

Still loving this series. Continues to focus on Mandy, Max, his brother John, Cynthia, Georgia, her two kids James and Sadie. Max has been talking to a boy Dan and wants to attempt a rescue. He and Mandy head out and chaos ensues. Those left at camp in the forest are attacked several times by hordes of crazy people. The young boy Dan attempts to make it to Max on his own. He is captured by the militia but escapes with help of another prisoner Olivia. They meet Rob who helps them get to Max's camp. Max and Mandy had just returned home in a failed attempt to rescue Dan and the group is fighting for their lives against the horde. Dan and co jump in to help and Rob sacrifices himself for the group. We also so glimpse into individuals in the militia - Art, Janet, but their stories don't end well.
Actually, think the above is a review of both 6 and 7 combined.

Trying to read around the editorial errors

I’ve now read books 1-6. The spelling and grammatical errors are increasing with each progressive book. In some places the sentences don’t even contain any meaning, as if they were being edited, but parts of multiple edits remained in the final text. It seems, in places, the story was dictated into a machine which couldn’t distinguish “their” from “there”. The author surely knows the appropriate context, but wrong wording is prolific. By book #6, it’s become distracting enough that I can’t keep my imagination in the tale. Unfortunately, I’m not going to read further. Some of the incidents are unrealistic. Coincidences are farfetched to the point of distraction. The series contains too many discrete converging and diverging story tracks for me. Plenty of death and dismemberment though.

Wow!

What? Only one more?
I was hoping for at least half-a-dozen more!
Once again Ryan Westfield has kept me spellbound without gratuitous sex or overly graphic violence.
I have seen war and this is about the most primal of wars, survival. Most don't believe this can't happen, but I know better. It will happen because politicians are still ignoring the infrastructure and it's in bad shape! While we may never see an emp event, the electric grid is as close to collapse as lung-shot elk!

Book 6

One more book. So glad. Book not too bad. I just get tired of the repetition. And will Max leg ever heal? I am guessing that is him on the cover of these books, but he is in pain and slowed down by a bullet sound to the leg. And will we find out what or who caused the emp? Not a bad series if you skim pass the gun and knife fights. Least the cursing is at a bare minimum. Yay!!

repetitive redundant

The underline theme throughout this series is, if you trip and fall down, you will bust your nose and it will bleed. You will lose your firearm and you will leave it behind or someone will take it from you in a scuffle, you will not pick up a firearm from someone you won a fight with. But most of all and most important, you will trip, fall and bust your nose.

Really enjoy this series! Action and good dialogue keep you guessing!

Book 6 is short like the other books in this series however just as entertaining to read. It's fast paced and the ability for any of the main characters to die at any time always keeps you thrilled as the reader.
Only two more books that I see in this series and I'm disappointed that there isn't more to read. Good fast thrilling fun story!

ANOTHER GREAT BOOK IN THE EMP SERIES

Rynn Westfield has continued to deliver another great book in "Dendending Camp" (book 6) in the post-apocalyptic EMP survival thriller. The group of survivors, being family and friends, defend themselves from the hordes of humanity that have degreesed to the point of running wild killing each other for the fun. I enjoyed book 6 and hope you do too.

Boring

These books are somewhat boring. Way to much internal thoughts deluding the story. Also how come the US Government/Military just ended being useful, yet there's some mysterious criminal gang leader that has organized a "militia?" These books are nothing more than useful for passing time. Why couldn't Max get a 4 x 4 SUV unstuck from a ditch? The senselessness of these characters decisions are mind boggling.

Not quite as exciting

While the author does a great job with his characters, I didn’t feel the thrill that was in the previous books. The series is still great, this book just didn’t feel as amazing as the previous books. It’s still a good dread, just not what the previous installments were.

Too many errors.

I read 6 books of this series. It's an interesting story line, but all of the books are full of errors. There are several places where the wrong name is used for a character and there are many missing words and wrong words (e.g. They instead of the). An editor or proof reader should have caught these errors. It seriously detracted from the reading experience.

Defending Camp

Their Camp in the forest, was peaceful it had been for a few weeks now. at last they could think of other things. Using the radio to find out what was going on elsewhere. They got a plea for help from a young boy. Max and Mandy went off to give help. Leaving the others, then they heard that a horde, a mob from the city was on its way. Will they survive, read on.

Exciting Page Turner

Wow Wow Wow!

Action packed with defending your camp. The book is filled with exciting page turning gun fights, kidnapping, and countless rescuing. All the characters are just believable and I'm rooting for them to make it through the madness. I look forward to reading the next book.

Great Read!

The Title Says It All

Except for Max going on a wild goose chase the entire book was more of the same. I was disappointed. I expected the story to move along at least a bit. I hope the next in the series is better and also the last.

Good story

A good but somewhat disjointed story. The bouncing back and forth between different people and perspectives got a little much in this one. I still enjoyed the story though.

Divided

Their numbers have gone down as they lost members as few at a time. Two have gone to search for a boy pleading for help.
