I received a copy and voluntarily left a review and all opinions are my own.

Since starting the Songs and Sonatas series by Jerica MacMillan, she has continually left her fans sitting on a cliff waiting in nail biting, breathless agony to find out what happens with these couples that are surrounded by musical instruments, college professors, and celebrity spotlight. Jerica keeps showing us again and again how love blooms between characters from different musical worlds that have to overcome greater obstacles and miles than most. After reading Broken Chords, I couldn't wait to find out how the pop star in hiding whose cover has been blown and the quiet cello player were going to find their way back to each other in Counterpoint and Harmony through the web of lies surrounding them and the miles separating them. It wasn't long and Jerica had me deeply entrenched in the musical drama and ready to see passion build again between these two and them make sweet music together.

Charlotte James is a heroine who is trying to find out who she really is amidst stage lights, paparazzi, and people with hidden agendas. No wonder she fell hard for the soft spoken Damian who would rather pursue his love affair with his cello and music then read a gossip magazine. I was heart broken to see the way that things ended between these two in Broken Chords but proud to watch Charlotte grow into the woman she was always meant to be. If you think she had a lot of personal growth in the beginning of her story, wait until you see the drastic changes that this strong female character goes through to ensure that she can have both of her true loves...music and Damian.

Damian is a character that is a little harder to get to know but once you do, you love him for all his introspective, contemplative ways, and his gentle spirit. But don't let all of that fool you, he knows how to throw down and have his “Charlie” all emotional and wanting in the bedroom. While I loved this character, there were times in this section of his story that I just wanted to shake him and say “what are you thinking?” but underneath all of that, I can't help but love the cello nerd and want him to finally get the girl.

Jerica MacMillan delivers another addition to her Songs and Sonatas series that once again ratchets up the angst and leaves you cheering with over the top emotions for her newest musical couple. I highly recommend Counterpoint and Harmony for a rocky and emotional ending to this spellbinding duo that will leave your heart singing their praises long after their last page is read. I cannot wait to see what Jerica offers us with her next couple that is sure to be surrounded by fame and musical notes. All I can say is bring on the heavy emotions, passion, and cliff hangers Jerica...your fans are ready and waiting!

I have been anxiously awaiting this book since I finished Broken Chords. The way that book ended left things very much in the air for me and with so many questions. I needed this book to resolve things. Well, this story ended up being worth the wait, even if it didn't take quite the direction I thought it would.

My absolute favorite part of this book was Charlie aka Charlotte James. I loved how she really continues her growth and self realization in this book. In my eyes she showed so much strength in her ability to move forward, starting to move down the path of her own choosing, and really start living more for herself. She did all this even when the events around her were heart breaking from more than just one direction.

With Damian, my feelings weren't always quite so warm and positive. But I was so impressed by Jerica MacMillan and her ability to write a story that I couldn't put down, with a leading man I wasn't always fond of. I ended up liking him, but the real star of this story for me was Charlie.

That ending though... I really didn't see it coming and now I am just as desperate for the next book in this series as I was for this one. And I'm sad to know I'll have to wait so long for it. But luckily there will be new books from this fantastic author for me to look forward to while I wait.

Will they or won't they?

Have you ever wanted to take two people and just knock sense into them? This story made me want to do that so many times. So much miscommuncation and misunderstanding, it just tears at you. This story made my heart hurt and my eyes tear, but I'm so glad to have reached the end of Charlie and Damian's story arc and will now be in a withdrawal period waiting for Lauren's 1st book.

I have just put this book down, but had to come here and tell everyone how spectacular this book is.
This is book Two of Charlie/Charlotte's and Damian's budding Romance story which has hit a brick wall.Counterpoint and Harmony begins with two broken hearts, divided by a lie.The lie Charlie told about her identity,so she could attend college, and take a break from her superstar life.Being pop sensation Charlotte James would never be able to do that. But now Damian has found out who she is and is struggling to come to terms with the fact she lied to him about it.He feels betrayed and like she made a fool of him, which is not true .
Throughout the book you sense the barrier between them ,stopping them from moving on.Only being eased when their passion and attraction ignites. But the conflicts waging a war inside them both, leave them both wondering what and how their relationship will survive.
Their love is the only certainty.
We see Charlie/Charlotte became the performer and woman she is meant to be.Standing up to her controlling mother, about her career and life Charlie is stronger and fearless.
Damian however is quite the opposite he is unsure of himself and divided by his thoughts and feelings about Charlie and her lifestyle.
Can he forgive her ?
Jerica Macmillan has woven her magic yet again and delivered a remarkable book.Creating characters and a world so believable and captivating you are instantly drawn into it's depths.
This story shows that no matter who you are famous or not ,Rich or poor.If two hearts are meant to be.Then Love will always find a way for them to be together. No matter how many differences there are love can never be denied.
I love, love, loved this book and I cannot wait to read more books in this magnificent series.
5 glorious stars is not enough.

The love story of Charlie and Damian that began in Broken Chords continues. When Damian finds out the woman he loves is actually a famous pop star he questions her feelings for him and doesn’t understand why she is with him, so he takes a step back.

Charlie thought she had finally found someone who wanted to be with her for her not because of her career. She realizes that she can’t return to her career the way it was before and is going to manage it the way she believes is right for her despite what her mother wants.

There is no questioning the love between them but will Damian be willing to listen to Charlie and open up his heart to her once again so that they may have their second chance at love?

This is a wonderful story of two people who find the strength to become who they were meant to be and that although they live very different lifestyles together they are stronger. I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Counterpoint and Harmony came at the perfect time for me, Charlie and Damian have been on my mind since I finished Broken Chords.

This book starts where Broken Chords left off. Both Charlie and Damian are both back from the wedding and facing the repercussions of the world finding out where Charlotte James has been and who with.

The one thing I wished more than anything is that Charlie and Damian would tell each other how they felt. They both held back because of everything that had happened, and they were both a little apprehensive. Communication is key and in parts, it was hard to read how hurt they were feeling.

Having said that, the way the story developed and progressed was amazing. Their story is one that will stay with me. The power, passion, and respect they both share for music shone through even though their ‘music worlds’ couldn’t any more different.

Counterpoint and Harmony, like all of Jerica’s other books, was fabulous. Completely had me hooked and give me all the feels. Highly recommend!!

The conclusion to Charlie and Damian’s story is melt-your-heart satisfying. Ms. MacMillan opens up the minds of these two characters and gives us a front row seat, conveying their thoughts and feelings so beautifully, so perfectly. So what that there were times I wanted to wack Damian upside the head and tell him to wake up and smell the coffee! He’s not the usual alpha hero, but that’s what I loved about him … it’s totally refreshing. Just because Damian isn’t strong-arming his way into his woman’s heart doesn’t mean he isn’t all kinds of dreamy and hot. He is definitely all that.
Music once again plays an integral role in their story, and once again I loved being in that world. Charlotte taking charge of her career and blossoming, and Damian coming into his own as a concert cellist had me biting my nails, wondering how they would make a relationship work.
This duet—Broken Chords, Counterpoint and Harmony—is another lovely five star read for me. As always, Ms. MacMillan’s beautiful writing carries you along seamlessly, the characters are compelling, and the story keeps you riveted and wanting more.

Charlie and Damian's story continues from "Broken Chords". Damian can't believe that he was duped and he believes everything that Charlie told him was a lie. While Charlie just wants her "normal college life" to continue. If two characters were ever to be destined to be together, it is Charlie and Damian ... but that is hard to do when Charlie's two worlds collide.

I couldn't help but fall in love with these two characters. This book was an emotional rollercoaster! One minute I wanted to shake Charlie and say "just tell him how you really feel already". The next minute I wanted to kick Damian in the shin and say "get over it ... she's a superstar, you can't change that". This book made me laugh and cry ... a lot! And isn't that the sign of a good book when you get emotionally invested in it? I highly recommend this book ... and of course you will have to read Broken Chords first because it definitely continues from that. Next up is Lauren's story and I can't wait!

I gracious received an ARC courtesy of the author in exchange for a honest review.

This is the conclusion of Charlie and Damian's story and it was a perfect ending. The books starts out where it ended on book one. Both Charlie and Damian are back from the wedding and they both are dealing with the fallout of the world finding out where Charlotte James had been hiding and what is Damian to Charlotte.

Charlie makes some major changes in her life after she realizes that she is not going to be able to go back to school. She finally takes charge of her career and starts writing songs herself. She is hurt that Damian refuses to speak with her but she hopes that he will eventually let her explain. In the meantime she is moving forward in her professional life.

Damian is hurt and angry at Charlie but he also misses her. However, he doesn't trust his feelings and doesn't believe that Charlie could have loved him. Once he realizes how much he hurt Charlie with his silence, he actually does something about it.

The 2 of them are very hesitant and weary about where their relationship can go but decided to at least be "friends". Damian must learn to believe that Charlie's feelings are genuine and Charlie must learn to take the initiative at times. The 2 of them are perfect for each other but they have to be brave enough to open up to each other.

I really enjoyed Charlie and Damian's story and the entire Songs and Sonata series. Can't wait to find out who we get to read next!

Have you ever gone to a concert or a play and sat there mesmerized? You know that what you are seeing is a one of a kind spectacle and you sit there fascinated waiting to be transported to what I can only describe as Utopia. A performance that will leave you spellbound and ultimately will leave a mark on your template. This book, hell the entire series, is just like that. From the very beginning, this author and her innate ability to transform words into a mellifluous and heartfelt journey is nothing short of extraordinary. Just like every chord or note in music has a purpose so does every word, scene, and character. Combined they elicit a string of emotions. You will find yourself at times applauding and cheering for the characters and in the next cussing them out for behaving a certain way.

This is the conclusion of Charlie and Damian's story. Whereas in the first story you were left hanging and wondering where do these two go from here, this story does not leave you guessing. it is poignant. It is heartfelt. There are bumps in the road as they both try and find out who they are and what they want to be. There is soul searching to be done for both of them. Can they find the happiness they both rightly deserve? Or will they take their time together to learn from and move on? Read the story and find out. I promise you will not be disappointed.

Wow what a fabulous finish to the story of Charlie and Damian. To me this story was not only romantic but so heartbreaking. You have a famous singer who is so unsure of herself and so unsure that anyone could ever want to love her because of who she really is on the inside. Then you have Damian who was so hurt by someone in the past and is so afraid of what the future holds if he were to love someone famous. These two people work so well together. They make each other feel safe and feel wanted but for some reason they just keep hurting each other and cannot find their rhythm. At the end of the last book they lost something and in this book they are struggling to find it again. I could not put this book down. It played with all my emotions. Jerica MacMillan has done such an amazing job with this couple and I honestly cannot wait to see what she has in store for Lauren. I am positive that her journey will be just as amazing. So, if you are reading this I'm assuming you read the previous book... I'll try my best to avoid spoilers...
We resumed the story a bit after Damian found out the truth about Charlie and now, both Charlie (aka Charlotte James) and Damian are trying to find out where to go from here...
As in Broken Chords, for me, the author did an awesome job with her characters, allowing the readers to understand a little bit more about their emotions and feelings regarding each other and everybody else in their lives.
I especially liked Charlie even more in this book, as we now get the change to know the complete story of her life and her horrendous mother. Damian tended to exasperate me a little, mainly at the end...
I'm just to books that have an epilogue and show you what happens some years after "The End" but this one... just left me wondering for Lauren, hopefully, the author fulfills her promise and we get to know hers and Brendan story soon enough.

I was gifted a copy of this book and was also my first experience with Jerica MacMillan's writing.
I have a really hard time rating it as I'm not one for YA love stories - and it's already a second chance at that. Also I wasn't aware that it wasn't a standalone but was a continuation of Damien and Charlotte's story so I sort of jumped in the middle of everything going on.

Aside from these circumstances I had to give it 4 stars as the book was technically good, the writing was entertaining. Both Charlotte and Damien were likeable characters. I liked how Charlotte took the reins and changed her life for the better. She got rid of everyone who had bad influence and found those who supported her and let her soar.
As I mentioned I haven't read the first part of the story but it wasn't bothering me, the book was entertaining nevertheless.

Damian and Charlie's story continues in this book. When Damian and Charlie first met he thought they were just aspiring musicians, little did he know she was a megastar but he found out and it shocked him into leaving the only woman he loved. Now Damian will do anything to win her heart again. The emotional journey that Jerica MacMillan takes us on with Damian and Charlie was unforgettable. This book is definitely a great addition to the Songs and Sonatas series. I really enjoyed this story and it will be one that I won't be forgetting anytime soon. I cannot wait to see what this author gives us next, definitely an author to watch.

In this book we see what happened to Charlie and Damian after they separated after Jonathan and Gabby's marriage.
Charlie managed to take the reins of her life and do what she really wanted, getting rid of the negative influence of her mother and the entire team commanded by her.
Damian is learning to deal with the attention his relationship with Charlie has caused, and when the opportunity arises for them to talk and meet again, the two will embrace that chance with all their might.
The development of their relationship, Charlie's maturity in facing and managing her entire career, and the twists in this story were very interesting.
I loved this book and the direction these characters took.
I'm anxious to read Lauren's story.
I highly recommend the reading.

3.5 stars.

What a great conclusion for these two.

This story continues what started in ‘Broken Chords’ (so you need to read that first).

I loved how Charlie’s journey to be who she really is, outside all the crap her MOM threw at her. An awful woman, but I was sooo happy with Charlie for standing for herself.

There were some ups and downs in her relationship with Damien, it was hard for him to understand her world and see her as this huge artist. I totally got where he was coming from, it’s overwhelming, but I was glad he finally saw just Charlie. The rest is crap, lol.

Loved these two and I was really rooting for them. :-)

*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

Counterpoint and Harmony is book five in the Songs and Sonatas series. This one is a continuation of Charlie and Damian story. Their story start in Broken Chords which is book four in the Songs and Sonatas series so get this one you must have at least read Broken Chords first. This one picks up where Broken Chords left off.

When this one starts Charlie and Damian frustrated me a little. I so wanted them together and I know they were struggling with the truth about Charlie but I wanted them to get their stuff together sooner then they did. As I read their ups and downs I was nervous as to whether they would get a happy ever after or not. I definitely enjoyed the ride with Charlie and Damian story.

The conclusion of Charlie and Damian’s story was terrific!

Charlie is returning to her career on her own terms after getting rid of her crazy mother and old manager. Her professional life is headed in the right direction but she can’t get over Damian or what they had together.

Damian is going through the motions but can’t get Charlie out of his head. Should he forgive her for what he sees as deception or should he move on and forget about the girl he loves?

I loved watching them navigate their renewed friendship and the bumps that came along with her being a star and him being a college student. This book had so many feels!

Book 2 of the duet was just as good as the first if not better, Charlotte and Damian were both left broken hearted after Damian found out about Charlotte's big secret as she had lied to him. Now they are both dealing with the fall out and their emotions about each other are all over the show which leaves you wanting to shake them both and sit them down to sort it out. I really liked seeing Charlotte start to take control over her life after seeing what she has to deal with especially her Mother. Seeing them work through who they are/want to be, as well as where they fit, if at all in each others lives is great to see unfold and made for thoroughly great read

A Review of Counterpoint and Harmony (Songs and Sonatas Book 5) by Jerica MacMillan

Conclusion of Charlie and Damian - 4.5 Stars

This book picks up right where the last one left off in the series. The cover is totally different for this book, making Charlie (or Charlotte) look completely opposite from what the last book made her look. We get to learn more about the characters that we've already met in the previous books. Definitely worth picking this one up to find out what happens with these two amazing characters.

Fantastic Book!

Counterpoint and Harmony was the conclusion to Charlie and Damions story.
It was fantastic! I Loved It!
It was an emotional journey that they had to take on the road back to each other!
Damion didn’t know how would fit into Charlie’s life. Will Damion be able to get passed his anger and feelings of betrayal?
I loved the way Charlie took back control of her career and made it what she wanted it to be!
Jerica MacMillian has written an amazing book in a fantastic series!

I couldn’t wait for Charlie and Damian’s conclusion and I wasn’t disappointed. Wow! Their story begins where Broken Chords left us. Beware though because Counterpoint and Harmony will be hard to put down once you start. The writing once again is captivating. Jerica MacMillan knows how to bring stardom and reality to life. I was mesmerized with the barriers this couple faced and was curious with how it would play out. Questions were answered, walls torn down and struggles resolved. I am even more excited that this series isn’t over.

WOW - I love Charlie and Damian! These two were made for each other. The saying opposites do attract is so true in this case. She’s famous and rich and he can’t seem to come to terms with her keeping it a secret and why she would want him. Both of them have insecurities they need to work through. Counterpoint and Harmony continues their story. You need to read Broken Chords to understand Charlie and Damian’s history. Their story had me laughing, crying, yelling and cheering all hoping they find true lasting love. This musical series just gets better and better!!!

Charlie and Damien get back from the wedding after it came out that she Charlotte James. He feels that she lies but she didn’t, she just kept quiet so that it didn’t get out so that she could go to school. After he refuses to talk to her she leaves and goes back and starts writing songs and tells her mom that she will not be pushed around by her anymore. Will Damien get his self esteem under control and go talk to her and will step forward more and talk to him and get their misunderstandings out in the open? Music to my eyes! I love a good rocker story and when the main character is a sexy rocker chick I’m in heaven! Charlie is just fabulous as the rocker chick heroine and the conclusion to her and Damien’s romance is terrific. This is a beautifully written emotional love story with a music backdrop. The characters are wonderful. I absolutely love this sweet and sexy music themed series. Don’t miss it! I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

This is the perfect ending to finish this story of Charlie and Damian. She is a famous singer who is really lacking in self confidence and does not think anyone could ever want to love her because of how she see's herself. He was hurt in the past and is afraid to be in a relationship, especially with someone famous. Can they over come their issues to be truly happy?
