Absolutely love Cady and Jett’s story – *fans one’s self*
Cady Ellis has a problem that is facing today’s successful young women in epidemic proportions – diminishing fertility with age, and the lack of a suitable prospective partner.
Successful career women are waiting longer than ever to think about having their families, and Cady is no different. She’s got her career on track, but is running out of biological time to get her family started, yet she’s not been fortunate enough to find the right partner to do it with. Her solution in going it alone is not so different either.
She’s going about her plan, and got the sperm donor folder to prove it, but then she meets Jett and all of a sudden, getting pregnant the old fashioned way looks like a way better plan! He’s all tall, tatted and bearded bad boy, and he’s just been through a water-shed moment of his own - realising that three year relationship with Emily, his girlfriend, recently ended because he just wasn’t committed. Maybe commitment just isn’t in his cards, so when Cady, a gorgeous hot and successful lawyer asks him for ‘unprotected’ sex, he’s more than happy to oblige!
Trouble is, Cady is the exact opposite to his usual type, and she seems to be the perfect candidate as someone who he just might like to go long term with – independent, and an equal partner in the relationship. And, just when he’s really starting to fall, Emily appears back in his life thinking that maybe he’s learned the error of his ways, and might like to try again. Add this to the fact that Cady is still as independent as ever, and he’s starting to think he’s going to have to lift his game to convince her that she and their offspring are going to have him around permanently.
This is one of Vivian’s more emotionally intense books, and I have to say I absolutely adored both Cady as a mother-in-waiting, and Jett as one of the most gorgeous and considerate alpha wanna-be boyfriends around! I did get this as an ARC, but as usual, Vivian Wood writes books that you just want your own copy of. This is up there as one of my favourites! 5 Stars.
