A Viking Mpreg

A Viking Warrior vows to protect his pregnant omega.

Halvard is a renowned alpha viking. He lives for war, but in the midst of a raid, he finds a slave. In an instant, he knows he's found his mate. A man who heats his blood hotter than any battle.

An omega slave chosen by Odin.

Asgrim wasn't always a slave. He was the son of a Jarl but his destiny was ripped away from him. Yet, when the leader of a band of Viking raiders murders his captor, his journey to reclaim his birthright begins. The presence of his rescuer awakens a primal desire within, his first heat.

Asgrim seeks his destiny.

Their fate combined, the alpha and his omega set out to reclaim Asgrim's birthright. Halvard must fight for their lives and the life of their unborn child.

Together, they storm a path to glory...

Thrall is the first book in the Thorson Sagas and features vikings who are as sexy as they are brutal, a quest for glory, first times, knotty fun, mpreg (male pregnancy), an indulging alpha and a demanding omega. This is the first in a series, but these men find happiness by the end before the adventures continue in book two.

Did I mention that I’m whore for Vikings! 😂🤣 Man, out of all myths, I think Norse mythology is one of my very favorites so it’s no wonder when I stumbled upon an ABO book set in the Viking era, I knew I had to read this. And I’m very satisfied that I picked up this book. 😉

I am all for timid, subservient and docile omegas and dominant alphas but I love it when an author can pull off a brave, courageous, ambitious and no-nonsense omega. 😊 Asgrim certainly isn’t your average docile little housewife omega. As the first born son of a chieftain, although he was captured as a slave at war, Asgrim knew he’s meant for bigger things. His destiny isn’t just to become someone’s bed warmer and breeder, he is to become a warrior who would avenge his fathers and bring glory to his isle. So when Harvard came raiding his enemy’s village who cruelly enslaved him for many years, he knew he finally got a glimpse at freedom. Except, Harvard is his destined mate. Caught between the love for his mate who protects him, cares him and love him with all his heart and the need to go back to his own people, Asgrim must follow a path which wouldn’t break his heart and his spirit. After all, destiny and love goes hand in hand.

Loved it. 💜 Unique, fun, sexy and engaging. The ending is more of a HFN but since the author is planning to release more books in the series, I can’t wait to read these two’s continuing journey. I especially loved the occasional glimpses of Norse gods in this fantasy romance. 👏 It was refreshing and unique. And like I said, the scholar in me loved those little glimpses of glorious Norse gods so I really enjoyed this book a lot. 🥰

I loved this Alpha/Omega Viking story sooooo much. It felt like the author put a lot of research into getting the whole Viking setting just right, though since I am no expert on Viking culture I may be wrong. Adding gay romance to Vikings is not something I have seen done before but the author made it work very well. Also, she included knotting so yeah, KNOTTING. HOT! Her writing was top notch with lots of interesting and fleshed out characters. Halvard and Asgrim were pretty awesome... both characters that I could get behind (no that is not a sexual reference) and really cared about their happiness. I am certainly hoping that book two of the series will be published very soon as I can't wait to read it. What a thrilling, sexy as hell and fascinating read!

This was such a very different mpreg novel. This is a historical novel with VIKINGS! Skol!

The omega here is somewhat unomegalike - and the alpha - well alpha - but really understanding of how the omega chooses to behave and be committed too - a really remarkable combo. Rich historical background that doesn't overwhelm sets a wonderful stage and when you throw in violence - well that's the type of book I like. Sometimes I get tired of the "goody" two shoes omega or the down on his luck. No real rehash of the slavery past (a little bit of a bummer as you meet Astrgrim when he is already formed from slavery and get no look into his past). Looking forward to the next one.

So I think that maybe the uniqueness of this tale bumped up the rating from what is probably a more like a 3.5 rating story...but I'm okay with that.

Unlike most of the books of a similar genre, this is not a contemporary novel - it's an Historical, set during a time when Vikings raided the North Seas (first #point! for originality). Here we have an A/O/B dynamic society, with most women as Betas and very influential in political decisions who sit at the right hand of the ruler (second #point! for more gender equality; they're also "shield sisters" here, going on raids)...but I think most importantly we get an Omega who is just as bloodthirsty as any Alpha warrior (third #point! for breaking stereotypes). An Omega that has spent 10 years as a slave and is hell bent on revenge, determined to reclaim his birthright (even though as Omega he can't technically become Jarl) and to restore his home to its former glory after another Viking clan kidnapped him and decimated the town. An Omega that earns the (somewhat grudging) respect of his new Alpha's Jarl by going on successful raids himself.

He is not weak. He is not timid. He is not waiting to be saved by the Big Strong Manly Alpha and he doesn't want to be taken care of as a pampered pet. He fights, he trains, he raids, he hunts...Asgrid is the least Omega-like Omega I've read about in this genre.

Damn, how much did I love that?!?

He believes he has a destiny and that destiny is blessed by the gods; it's why he's waited, patiently, for the indicated signs and hasn't tried to escape his slavery. And as much as he comes to love Halvard, the farm and his little family (what would amount to many as a "content" life), he can't let that tie him to a town that's not his, to a future he thinks isn't the right one for him.

Even if that means leaving Halvard, let alone waging war against a possibly stronger enemy - and potentially putting himself and the baby he carries in jeopardy.

Okay, so that part horrified me a bit (especially given Halvard's repeated nightmare/vision) but I'm judging by today's standards and I'm plenty sure there were heavily-pregnant women protecting their homes and whatnot throughout history, by any means necessary. (Anthropological Theory, Historical Particularism & Cultural Relativism weren't things I expected to consider while reading this book. fourth #point!)

Anywho, so yeah. There were some editing issues but I was so enamored with the story that I didn't let them bother me (much). And that ending? Major cliffhanger alert! (Reconsidered subtracting points but decided to let it go.) I'm kinda dying now to know what happens...crossing my fingers that Asgrim is the one to put a dagger through Jorin's slimy, deceitful, hateful, lying, scheming, double-crossing heart.

Hoping the next one comes out soon. I've never read anything else by this author but if the quality of this one carries over (or improves) I'll be looking for more from her.

Edited to add: Also I absolutely loved how much Halvard stood by his man...even through decisions he didn't agree with. He didn't stand in Asgrim's way, choosing instead to fight by his side and support him. THAT's hella impressive as well.

3.5 stars for me bumped up because I really enjoyed the setting! Viking mpreg, folks, that's a new one for me! So, points for originality!

It took me a while to get into the story, what with all of the Norse and Viking terminology, titles, and talk. I know a little bit about viking history, but it did take a while for me to adjust. I really LOVED the combination of vikings with A/B/O characters - men are alphas or omegas, women are the betas, and there are seers, runes, viking raids, and battles - all things I'd think of when I think Vikings.

I loved Asgrim - he is an omega yes, but he is determined and strong-willed, wants to fight - and does!, and stands up for what he wants to do. He is definitely no cowering, timid omega. He's perfect for Halvard, his alpha and mate.

Warning - this story does end in a cliffhanger as far as the overall plot goes, but our two MCs are safe, alive, and together. I can't wait for the next story of their journey!

I received this book by the author for an honest opinion.
Well it's not very often the mpreg genre integrates into the historical very often so I snapped this book up when I read it was set in the Viking era. I love reading about this time period and its a first for me that I've read a mm in this setting so it was a first for me all round as well as being introduced to this author's work. But I wasn't disappointed. This book was about askgrim who after his father the Karl disobeyed the Gods will and went to war, it led to a sequence of events that found his son Askgrim being stolen and his life as a slave beginning. Askgrim has been marked by the Gods so it makes people wary of him but he knows he has a destination y to bring great change. When another attack happens he exchanges one sailor for another but this time in the beautiful form of Halvard who just happens to be his mate and sets off his heat. This is there story.
I really enjoyed this book as the writing just flowed from the pages effortlessly letting us imagine the world it is set in. I especially loved the Norse mythology references interwoven through the book. A good read and I look forward to the next.

The setting is something I have not read before. Of course there has been vikings (time-travel to present day in romances) but never in an actual historical setting. ABO relationships in this setting was surprising. When it started out as the omega MC being the slave, I was not sure how this was going- but the author surprised me at every step. In this world omegas are shown strong and sometimes even devious. The women are portrayed in positions of power- powerful beta wives to the Jarls or seers. Asgrim, the omega MC and the son of a Jarl, starts out as a slave in the beginning of the book, becomes the mate to the alpha and goes back to claim his inheritance. Asgrim unlike many other omegas of ABO universe, is smart, knows how to handle a sword and is focussed on his revenge and regaining his inheritance. It is very interesting to read about their world where everything is dependent on the commands/favor of their gods, runes and their seers foretelling. I am very much interested to read the next book in the series.

The world of This book has intriged me. Like women are all Betas, so does This mean that they don't have fated partners?? I would love to read an essay about womens role in this world because the book didn't explain It very well.

I liked the pairing. Bro, Asgrim gives birth in a boat in the middle of a battle, like That's fucking metal. And I think that they change the name of Sigurds mate, because as far as I understand he is adressed by two diferent names.

Also, by the way, Vikings didn't call themselves Vikings.

I absolutely loved it. I don't know if this author is going to write any more books but I sure hope she does. At this time it appears that her website has been taken down & she is not active on Facebook any longer. We are left with a cliffhanger in this story with things that still need to be done. Asgrim is a slave who is rescued by Halvard while on a raid. Things are not easy and there are obstacles they need to overcome. There is betrayal & very close calls.

DNF 41%. It was too great a feat to combine Norse badassary with omagaverse. I should have known better. Despite the initial build up the characters and plot were boring.

This book is about two Viking mates from different backgrounds who through a twist of fate find each other and follow their destiny. Asgrim, son of noble turned slave, and Halvard, a warrior for another noble, were very different but they were able to overcome problems and fall in love. I loved the Viking setting and historical and folklore references. Ms Steele wrote a well paced steamy romance. It was well written and well researched.

I loved all the secondary characters and the villain was dangerous and treacherous too! I love a villain who causes a lot of trouble but in the end gets what he deserves! Although it's unclear what happened to Jorin in the end at least he didn't get what he wanted.

There was some strife between the main characters and a challenge too and fighting! I loved it all! I highly recommend it. It ended with happy tidings and a new course for the next book and I can't wait to see what adventures they will embark on together!

I really wanted to like this. I have a kink for knotting and M-preg, and then combine it with Vikings and its an instant must have. However this book struck me as a MF book rewritten as MM. Or maybe because it was so short? Obviously the two MCs were manly men where the Alpha and Omega fell for each other.
The details of the setting, clothing and living seemed to be well researched. Possibly the story too, but I am no expert.
There is a lot of violence. There is a lot of posturing. The society is set up with alpha males having a male mate who is capable of childbirth. I never got what the females did, but maybe because most of the characters were male with male mates.
The story for me was a series of scenes that were strung together that never quite jelled into an actual book.
This was obviously the start of a series, but the author seems to have disappeared. A website is listed in her Goodreads profile and in the book itself, but the site is dead.

This is the first book in The Thorson Sagas Series. An intriguing book the writing was good. I do wish that there had been more detail throughout the book and a bit clearer purpose of the storyline to go forward. Otherwise I enjoyed this book. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters captivating. The characters were developed and thought out. Asgrim is an Omega and Halvard is an Alpha are the MC’s of this book and mates. There were raids, fighting, slaves, seers, mates, birds, an island, villages, attacks, sex, betrayal and so much more in this book. I can recommend as a good read. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.

Who doesn't love a Viking?

Combine it with MPreg and I'm there. I've always liked Viking stories, even back when I was reading M/F romance. There's something about Vikings raiding and pillaging that draws me in. It's animalistic and exciting. This book was a bit different and I liked that. I liked that Asgrim was a strong Omega who had been enslaved but firmly believed that the gods would provide him with a glorious future. Halvard was strong but treated Asgrim like an equal. He respected Asgrim's abilities and trusted in his beliefs. I liked that there was a lot more to this story than them mating and having a child. They have something to fight for and are working together to forge their future.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I really liked this story. I’m not a huge fan of historicals but this one didn’t push it on me and with all the references to the gods it felt more of an alternate universe kind of thing.

Asgrim was just waiting for the time that he would leave the people who forced him into slavery and doesn’t expect to be leaving with his fated mate. Halvard is an incredibly sweet alpha in comparison to the others in this story and I loved how he stood by his convictions. These two are the perfect contrast to each other and committed and willing to not let anyone stand in their way. I’m interested to see how this series continues with all that happened before they ended up back with Asgrim’s home ( I don’t want to spoil anything).

I enjoyed Thrall. I liked the Viking setting. Halvard is a great alpha. He comes across his mate during a raid. Asgrim was taken during a raid and became a slave the only thing that kept him going was the Gods told him he would get his revenge.
Halvard and Asgrim will have to decide what is important and believe that everything will work out. This is a great first book to kick off the Thorson Sagas.

I was really impressed by the adventure scenarios that were included along with the romantic storyline of Halvard and Asgrim. Steele has created a very vivid and cohesive world. Along with a very tender love story, there's some very cool mysticism and mythological references. The dialogue is also very natural. All in all, a fun read!

Going a viking

A great addition to the mpreg genre. This is my first Viking mpreg but hopefully not the last. The interesting characters and storyline, with it's world building based around Norse mythology, made this a page turning read.

Interesting book with great world development. I hope there is another book coming at some point since this left with a HEA but a bit of a cliffhanger in the overarching major plot.

I love fresh interpretations of the mpreg omegaverse, and I really love atypical, backboned omegas. This story had both, and was therefore excellent in all aspects.
