Question: Is it bad that I like Nino and Momo best when they're not pining over each other?

(Answer: Yes. In this kind of story, it's very bad.)

At least all of the characters are growing and moving forward. I just hope, in the end, they make the choices that I want them to. If they do, I think I'll really enjoy this series!

If they don't... 😑

Soooooo good!!

But goodness, DO NOT BREAK HARUYOSHI'S HEART!! I want him to have the happiest of endings out of every couple and/or potential ship in this series! He DESERVES all the happy things and by golly I better see it! No more heartbreak like I saw in this one!

*coughs* Moving on…

Soooo much angst and drama in this volume, but it was all excellent! I LOVED seeing Alice and Yuzu team up and see them smile when certain things unfolded. It made my heart happy and just so hopeful for them both! <3

And bless Kuze! That was a really touching part of this story and leaves me thankful for those who fight for us and care for us. Left me feeling a happy (and sometimes sad) mush. <3 (That phone call!! Ahh so wholesome! We need more of that please!)

I'm really looking forward to what's to come and excited to see how things unfold based off one musical development that was going on throughout this one! (CONCERTS!!!) Also, I really hope we meet the two new characters we met in this one again at some point. They were fun!

Cheering for all these characters! <3

Another great installment to an excellent series. There are so many crazy amazing developments in this volume. More progress on the Momo/Nino/Yuzu/Miou/Haruyoshi love triangle (love pentagon?) I just want EVERYONE to have a happy ending, and I have a major case of second lead syndrome, regardless of who the actual male lead is - which I am STILL not sure about. AH! Will Nino end up with Yuzu or Momo? I'm team Yuzu, all the way. :)

Yuzu and Nino have their first songwriting gig, for a model duo whose agency doesn't seem that much invested in them as artists. They, however, give it their all trying to write songs that would fit their voices, and then to fit the image they want to portray. Yuzu's and Nino's enthusiasm was infectious, with the duo too realizing how serious they are about it, and they come out learning much more from the experience. We get a backstory for the duo, who are friends who love to sing together (some parallels between Nino and Momo there) but for career purposes had focused on modelling. Through them, Yuzu discovers he can write for someone other than Nino, which expands his range, and Nino herself has to write lyrics to suit the singers in question. Meanwhile, over in the reltationship arcs, Miou finally makes a decision, and has a heartfelt talk with Yuzu, and they get to discuss what they feel about each other. I also loved the minor story-line of Tsukika's and Momo's relationship, and their past. Again, the book leaves us with the future opening up for the characters, with something for us to look forward to!

This series has totally won me over. The music, the drive, the romance. It's just a solid read.

With Volume 8, we get some closure on several plot threads and, of course, new ones are opened up. Yes, the pattern of Anonymous Noise has been this: one volume Nino says she will reach Momo and then the next volume she doubts herself, next volume she says her voice will reach Momo, and then the next volume she doubts herself - ad nauseum. It is a bit repetitive but we still have all the side characters and their love life melodrama to keep us going.

Story: A young model couple wants No Hurry to write a hit song for them. The catch is that it has to be different and unique but still sellable. They expect Yuzu to capture the essence of their relationship and yet still help them to not sound like the latest pop clone. While Yuzu and Nino work hard together to write the music and lyrics in a way that really is unique but distinct to the couple, Miou is slowly coming to the hard decision that she has to let Yuzu go. But doing so means she also wants to break up with Haruyoshi. In confronting both Yuzu and Haruyoshi with her honest feelings (or lack thereof), she sets in motion a way to free herself from the cycle she trapped herself in with her unrequited love.

As can be seen from the synopsis, it was nice to have some resolution to Miou and Haruyoshi's situation. It wasn't a pat solution, either, and Fukuyama resisted taking the easy way out and having Miou fully commit to Haruyoshi as if Yuzu didn't exist. We had some nice scenes between the two at the end of the volume.

Momo didn't feature much this volume - it was mostly about Yuzu and Nino figuring out how to create the perfect song for the model couple. As well, Fukuyama nicely fleshed out the model couple and gave them a very complex relationship. Sure, it gets old that Yuzu and Nino always figure out the perfect song that has everyone listening in shock and awe - but hey, we love our shoujo heroes and heroines.

In all, some nice resolution on at least some of the love triangles. Reviewed from an advance reader copy provided by the publisher.

It's probably nothing to dwell on, but I find it weird that another pair of vocalists sounds like Yuzu and Alice. It irks me.

Who was the girl who likes Cheshire? Sorry, I'm not good with names.

When I tell my husband that I wrote a melody for a song; he doesn't get it. Maybe I need a new husband? 🤣

Yuzu composes music just like that, it's not easy to create music. It takes a lot of patience and determination to figure out what notes and lyrics work well together.

Who is that girl who convinces Momo to go back home? Ah! I suck at names.

Aww, Miou, my girl, you really like Yuzu a lot, huh? That's been going on for so long. Damn, she just went ahead and kiss him. Wow, you're gutsy.

Nino and Yuzu creating a song together are so cute.

In No Hurry to Shout's first solo concert tour was sold out on all dates. Amazing❤️

Wow! Miou's so brave to admit her feeling toward someone she loved for so long. While Yuzu is about to blame his desire for Nino to love him I bet I'll be happier with Miou, but my goddamn heart longs for another girl.

Aww, Miou, and Haruyoshi's break up is so sad. He truly liked her, but she liked Yuzu.

What the heck? The only mutual feelings in this manga are between Momo and Nino and for some fucked up reason they can't be together.

I felt a lot in this volume.

Thank you, Ryoko✨

I hate that this took me "two days" to read, but I started it late last night and was just too tired to continue, and so I have been waiting in anticipation all day to get home from work and finish reading.
I love the tension and emotions expressed throughout this volume, and while I'm still sad we again don't have a summary at the beginning (those summaries are so useful), the story and plot were great.
I only have one more volume checked out and then I will have to wait to continue this series.
I like that while the main focus is on Yuzu, Nino, and Momo we do also get to see the other characters stories (after the characters were established in the first few volumes) and I'm looking forward to reading where their lives will lead.

The models that requested the song get a really great one from Yuzu and Nino, better than they expected. Kuzu finally finds Momo and gets him re-involved with Silent Black Kitty, and gets him writing songs that he wants to write. Miou gets Yuzu to really see her, not Alice, and kisses him. Haruyoshi forgives her and just makes his longing for he more intense. Momo "accidentally" calls Nino, courtesey of Kuzu, and they talk briefly for the first time in 4 months. Miou's heart is melting a little for Haruyoshi and his tenderness with her. Honestly their story is one of my favorites in this series. Highly recommended for ages 14+, 5 stars.

This one has some forward momentum finally! We see Nino writing lyrics again, and Yuzu writing different music, and experimenting with different sounds. We also get some forward movement in relationships with Miou confessing and then the fall out and realizatiins from that.
The while Nino wanting all of Yuzu's music for herself has disappeared here as well, which I'm so so about. While it is kinda sweet, it was also kinda creepy, same as both boys wanting her voice. I am glad to see some growth in the characters as well.

I don’t get the characters in this series. They become anonymous rock stars essentially but don’t care much about the fame and money??? It’s all about “reaching Momo” (Nino) and being better than Momo (Yuzu). Hey kids, don’t you wanna do more than just write songs all day???? Don’t you wanna be 17 and go to the mall? Lol or at least a party????
Yes, I get that the series is about music. That’s obvious. But why not add some teenage fun too?
Some bonding that isn’t music related. I’m finding it hard to connect to these characters.

Just when you think the story couldn’t get any more angsty and heart wrenching….I love this so much, but I do think I could use some happiness in this story. I feel like for most of the story overall has been sad, and when it does have some happy times it’s only a tease before even greater sadness. I guess it’s not really “sad” but just emotional, but either I think these characters deserve some happy times.

Soooooo, I sort of forgot about this series for a loooong time, and it definitely took me about half of this volume to sort of remember who the heck everyone is and what on earth they’re trying to do. So! Much! Romance! Drama! I like the bits that are actually about music, which, there’s some good stuff in this one, but also just so much angst. SO MUCH ANGST!

This is probably one of my favorite volumes here because we see some new depths to the characters as Nino and Yuzu start writing a song together for a modeling duo. I really love watching this process and seeing how they grow as individuals in this process. Probably one of my favorite books in the series so far. Looking forward to the next volume!

NO WORDS!!!!!! Such a great volume!!!! I have such a hard time with this series because I immediately want to read each new volume as quickly as possible, but then I'm so sad when it's over. Can't wait to read volume 9, hopefully this series never ends!!!!

Anonymous Noise, Vol. 8

Nino, Yuzu, and the gang are back at it again. It's starting to get colder & the band is about to go on tour.

Who will confess their feelings for who? Which band will reign on their tour, In No Hurry to Shout or Silent Black Kitty?
