Sail to England. Return the enchanted heart. Save the devil’s soul…
Dianna’s in over her head.
The Queen is her ship now. Hers to sail, and a crew to keep safe as they voyage across the Atlantic to stop Maria’s evil plan of killing her mother. The stress of responsibility, her pregnancy, and helping Henry deal with his PTSD has become a nightmare from which she has nowhere to run. Henry is suffering, refusing to let her in, and Dianna is worried that their love won’t survive the tumultuous journey ahead.
Just when she thinks all hope is lost, a massive storm hits and threatens to sink The Queen. By some miracle of fate, Dianna survives and finds herself alone, stranded on an island to fend for herself. But she soon discovers that the isle may not be as deserted as she thought.
Can she charm her way to safety and find her crew? Or will she be forced to stay on the island forever?

I’m starting to think that the only way this author knows how to make things exciting is by separating the two main characters. Honestly, I was kind of annoyed to see it come up again in this book. And then, to have the audacity to even touch on a possible love triangle. Are you kidding?? After the last two books of soul mate crap? And a pregnancy to boot? You can’t be serious.
Listen. I was so close. So close and giving this one star and moving on, but Ben. I love him. He’s so much more fun and a way better character than Henry. (I’m allowed to think so! Dianna is not). I loved the curse, and that entire detour away from the main plot was fantastic.
But I’m bored of searching for Maria, and these tiny little drips of information regarding her that we’re getting every now and then. All these other things happening to steer us off path are kind of beginning to frustrate me.
The romance is also dead. I’ve really started to hate Dianna and Henry together, and the fact that she’s pregnant makes it worse. I said it was dumb to start a series off with pregnancy, and I think their crap relationship proves that
Another amazing book to add to this already amazing series! I feel like I’m apart of this epic fantasy world that the author created! The characters are so well intertwined. The storyline is magnificent. I couldn’t put this book down!
One evening, I stumbled upon a Canadian author talking about her books on Booktok. A pirate fantasy romance in Newfoundland? That sounded fun!
Dianna and Henry are now reunited and along with Finn, Gus, Charlie, and Lottie are on their way to England to follow Maria and possibly find Dianna's mother, Constance. Now a captain with her own ship, The Queen, Dianna and her crew have been at sea for almost three months. As her pregnancy progresses, Dianna's biggest worry is the man she loves-Henry. Once a feared pirate, the emotional and physical torture that Henry endured under Maria's imprisonment has made him more dangerous. Dianna recognizes that her lover has what in her world is PTSD and she fears what Henry might do to himself. Meanwhile, others, like her friend, Lottie, worry about what he may do to Dianna. Before all can be figured out, a fierce storm separates Dianna from all her loved ones. Now, on an island, Dianna encounters a crew that has been cursed and they believe Dianna shall soon suffer the same fate.
This one really amped up the magic and mythical elements and I wholeheartedly adored it. I like that Diannna is put into so many situations that she is forced to figure it out on her own. Adored the character of Benjamin and I certainly want more of him, if that's possible. Still apprehensive as to what will be asked of Dianna in the future given the promises she makes in the end.
Have resolved that I need to read book four right away to see what happens in England.
i would give this book a 3.5/5... it was defintely better than the second book but still fell flat, the first book is still my favorite. I still really dont like how passive she is with the whole no blood shed, like if youre gonna act stubborn and act like a leader and a captain of a pirate ship and have a smart mouth... BACK IT UP. peaman could have lived if you had the guts just kill abraham when you had the chance... ugh she is so annoying. My heart ached for Benjamin he deserved better and i hope he does come looking for her to say thank you', but sorry man she is alllll henry's.. which leads me to henry and his episodes... SHE WAS SO SELFISH. talking ab i need time to process, i dont know if i can forgive him, i dont know what to think but then preach youre gonna be there for him through everything... you know whys happening to him you promised to help, you knew what he did at night and when it happened you wanna turn victim and make it all about you.. that man is killing himself inside and out just dreaming ab the shit he went through and now he almost killed the love of his life, can you imagine what he is going through... i found that whole thing so selfish AND THE FACT THAT SHE DIDNT SLEEP BELOW DECK BECAUSE HE WAS THERE.. comonnn, that really shows how much you "care" about him...

We are back in the Queen. Diana, Henrry and her crew are set on their way to find Maria and stop her. Dianna has to figth against Henrry's darkness but nether of them knew how dangerous Henrry could be. One night The Queen and the crew tried to survive a very strong storm when Dianna was toss over board. Now trying to survive in a desserted island or so she thought. pregnant, tired, cold and hungry she went to sleep. not knowing that she would woke up being taking aboard to another ship called the blackened soul. now she most fight to survive, to escape and to get back to her beloved Henrry. She hopped Henrry and the crew survived the storm as well.
Candance Osmond has once again leave me asking for more. I am loving Dianna's and Henrry's story. I admire how strong she is. How intensely she love. In this installment we meet Benjamin and I fell inlove with him as well. I hope I get to see more of him in the next book! :)
This series has just gotten better and better, seriously could not put this book down until I'd finished it!!! So much adventure is found on every page and with the way this author writes, you feel like you're right there amongst all the action. Dianna has become quite the heroine and the love she and Henry share truly leaves you breathless. I now look forward to the last and final book of this series but oh, how I will miss them once they're done. Highly recommend this book, you won't be disappointed!! Wish I could give more than 5 stars!
This book was quite interesting to be honest! I really thought we would get to England and see how Dianna finds Maria and her mother... but it took an interesting turn! This book was filled with far more myths and legends than the first 2! It was great and also a fast read! Around three months has passed in this book and I feel like Dianna and Henry’s loved really grew stronger than ever! ALSO CAN WE TALK ABOUT GUS AND LOTTIE??? MY GOODNESS! I WANT BOOKS ABOUT THEM 😍 I want Finn to find love as well 😭
Why do I keep reading these? Not sure. Book one really had some strong suits, despite the instant love. I thought it would have been a great fuller length novel had the plot been flushed out some more. Book two was interesting, enough for me to want to know how things get resolved. Book three took a hard nose dive! A random side quest, if you will. I'll probably pick up the fourth the next time I have an extra Hoopla credit, hoping the main plot is further explored! However I do enjoy picking up a shorter novel as a pallete cleanser between heavier books and will explore the author further.
This book was an epic tale from start to finish! Once I started book 3 of the Dark Tides, I fell even more in love with the characters.
I felt the struggles that Dianna was going through as if they were my own, and empathized with her during her need to reach Henry, while maintaining the strong presence of a captain.
Adventures, love, struggles, and a cast of relatable characters are given life by this amazing author so really, what's not to love?
The Blackened Soul being the 3rd book in the Dark Tides Series, I don't know how this author does it. I truly don't. She has already set us up for an amazing sail and the epic adventure keeps on going in this book. You won't be able to put this one done either until you read the last page. If you weren't in love with all of these characters before, well...you should have been from the start but still. Pick up this entire series, you will love it.
This series just keeps getting better and better. I don't even know what to say about it. Normally romance is not my cup of tea but this series grabbed me from the first book and I won't be able to stop thinking about it until I read the last book, probably not even then.
Third book in the series that just keeps getting better
These books are so good and always leave you wanting to read more. We really get to see how Henry and Dianna’s love stands the test of time and the journey’s that they go on. I can’t wait to read the next book.
My favourite of the series so far, I enjoyed the character of Benjamin even more so than Henry. Dianna is beginning to seem like she’s too perfect and can do no wrong and it’s a little bit off putting. However I’m eager to continue the series and see where it goes next!
I loved this book. I think it's my favourite of this series so far, each story is like a new episode with your favourite characters! I'm loving this series. Also Lottie definitley gives me Celaena from TOG vibes and I'm here for it!
A great story, of course. But damn it, it’s short!!! More a novella then anything. Also, I thought it was going to be the last book in the series so I was saddened when Maria Cobham didn’t meet her end in the this one!
The third book in the series continues the adventures of Dianna and Henry. Great writing, well written storyline, keeps you wanting more. Likable characters. Fast paced. Recommend.
A heroic novel not to be rivaled, The Blackened Soul continues to intrigue and enchant!
I cannot begin to put into words how delighted I have been to go along with our characters on this monumental journey through time. Each scene wonderful written, allowing the reader to easily slip into and feel for the characters as they experience their trials and triumphs.
I admire Dianna's courage and resourcefulness as she falls into yet another adventure, all while worrying about Henry's recovery, the child she carries and the fate of her new crew. It has been a joy to see her character grow throughout the series.
One can also not be disappointed with the quirky cast of supporting characters, who make this tale colorful and help keep the story flowing nicely.
An overall delight to read, an escape for awhile. I can't wait to see what adventure the next book takes us on!
Another fun read in the Dark Tides series. I enjoy how fast paced things are in these books, there is no useless or boring drawl to get to the point. I wish there was more development with Benjamin but I suspect we will be seeing more of him in the future. I see at the end of this book that the next book was supposed to be the end of the series, but as I have an ARC of book 5 that's obviously not the case.
My constructive criticism is that more attention be paid to typos and grammar, there were a few spots in this book that I had to work out what the sentence was supposed to say due to grammar or incorrect tense. It didn't ruin the story for me though, I always ended up making out what was trying to be said.
I am looking forward to book 4, this book was enjoyable and it seems there is no doubt that Dianna has some otherworldly connection to the sea, and particularly the sirens. I really enjoyed that this book was more fantasy type / supernatural than the others - while the others obviously had supernatural elements I felt like this one was almost entirely made up of it and I liked that a lot.
Well written epic story with The same characters I fell in Love while reading other 2 books. Nothing goes Easy and Dianna will have to deal with Henry's PTSD and being thrown on unknown Beach after huge storm. What is going On? What secrets are hidden and will be revealed ? Read The Blackened Soul to find out.
WOW! Epic tale of adventure that keeps you reading and doesn't disappoint! I can hardly wait to read the next to see how the journey, or better yet, quest ends up!
