Jumping straight in, because I NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED to tell you about these books!!
This is book three in the Psy-IV Teams series, and I have read books one to three back to back. Literally. Finished one, jumped straight into two; finished two (at stoopid o'clock in the morning, I might add!) and jumped straight into book three. Good job I wasn't at work that day, I tell ya!
We meet Wolf in book one, and Meli in book two. Meli's reaction to Wolf in that book is noted, marked, instant and powerful. When things start to go the pan at home, she calls Wolf, who thought she never would.
Wolf can read minds, feelings, emotions with touch, and without. But he cannot read Meli. Her walls are rock solid and she grounds him. Just by being near, by touch. And she baffles him. He knows she has secrets, knows he could push at those walls if he really wanted, but he won't. He'll let her tell him all in good time.
Only time isn't something they have, those things going down the pan are getting far more deadly than a phone call. When Meli's brother's past is bought into play, things get complicated. And for a time, I had no idea where this was going! Loved being kept on my toes!! And usually, I love being made to wait for the main event but every time Meli and Wolf try to give in to their feelings, they get interrupted! I felt for them, I really did.
It is again, told in the first person, with both Wolf and Meli having a say. I swear to God, If this author switched to present tense, I think I'd still love them, and you KNOW how much I hate first person present tense!!
It is always a much darker read. Meli's secrets make for painful reading, especially when those secrets catch up with her. Extremely well written, just a little close to home. And because its first person...even more so.
Because I read them back to back and because its written in the first person, I noticed the marked differences between Cyn, Risia and Meli, and between Tag and Wolf (but not Kayden from book one, he doesn't get a say) Differences in their personalities, the way they think, how they are. You don't always notice things like that in the third person, or if you have gaps between books in a series and I really REALLY loved being able to notice that.
There is an on-going story line between all three books that is still unresolved, indeed, someone is still missing. But you don't need to read them all. I don't think you do, but if I were you, you should. Because these books are freaking awesome and I really can't wait to get my hands on the next one!!
I'd like to read more by this author. Its the first I've read of her work and I really liked how she spins a tale, making you think, and think, and think again.
Which leads me to my question...When?? I know Bishop is involved from that little snippet at the end, but WHEN??? How long do I gotta wait, Ms Gray?? How LONG?!?!?!?
5 stars (would give it so many more if I could!!!)

Marked by Obsession is the third book in the Psy-IV Teams series, and focuses on Wolf and Meli. Wolf knows that Meli is skittish for a reason, and waits for her to make the first move. She does, but not in the manner he hopes. She rings him because she is looking for Risia. Meli has trouble coming at her from every side, and she doesn't yet know why. Wolf refuses to let her deal with this by herself and, along with Bishop, they arrive to offer both moral and physical/psychic support. The tension between Wolf and Meli is off the charts, but as the secrets start coming out of the woodwork, staying alive comes first!
I absolutely love it when an author improves book-by-book! Hunted by the Past was a solid 4-star read, Touched by Fate was better, and it would have been a 4.5-star if I did half-stars! Marked by Obsession though, 5-stars through and through! There was enough action going on with the current story to keep the most action-mad person happy. Although the overall story arc did make an appearance, it was more in comments about Delacourt being unavailable, or things that others on the team were doing. This enabled me to keep my focus on Wolf, Meli, and the intrigue that opened up.
Exceptionally well written, with no editing or grammatical errors to disrupt the reading flow, I would recommend that you read this book as part of a series. Not that you can't read it as a standalone, but with the depth of Jami Gray's writing getting better every time, why deny yourself the pleasure of knowing the past stories? With a snippet of the next book to come, I for one can't wait to get my grubby little mitts on it. Highly recommended by me.

Merissa Archaeolibrarian - I Dig Good Books! Apr 19, 2017
I received this book from the author to read and give a honest evaluation. This is the first book I've read by this author but certainly not the last. "Nic" was the devil!!! The obsession he had for Meli plus the fact of his numerous crimes, I think he was a nut job. Wolf, on the other hand, the love he had for Meli, was proven over and over. Very well written book!!
A fast read with a good mix of romance and military action. The use of a psychic team and powers mixed well with a stalker-esq problem. The chemistry was tangible between Meli and Wolf. The other characters from the first two book are mentioned, but the main focus is Wolf, Meli, and Bishop. Other team members have short roles such as Ricochet. This is an interesting series and the story was well developed adding to an intriguing concept and team. The villain was predictable, but the writing still built a tense situation full of action, angst and a HEA outcome. Looking forward to the next book!
Outstanding book. This book keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole way through. It has everything in it. Love, danger, excitement and an amazing group of characters. The government runs a group of psychics guarding the secrets and danger that is behind the scenes of the USA. They go above and beyond the call of duty. It will keep you on your toes trying to figure out what will come next. The author is amazing at writing this story. Can't wait to read the next book. This is definitely a must read. Great job.
The book started off trying to build sympathy for Pollyanna the heroine and give the reader a reason why the macho hero would fall for her. Kidnapped by the villain and we get page after page of how a man can hurt a woman! Not my kind of book.
This was my favorite of the PSY-IV books so far. I enjoyed to dichotomy of Wolf and Meli. Even though Meli is not a guns-blazing kind of kick-ass heroine, she is so strong where it counts. Well done and waiting for more!
The stories in this series keep getting better. I don’t know if it’s because I fell in love with Wolf in the last book or because the story was just that darn excellent.
Meli isn’t the typical strong female character that kicks ass and asks questions later, but she has an inner strength that some people wouldn’t be able to touch. She has gone through a lot in her life (Ms. Gray spared no expense to make this woman suffer – she tried to destroy her psychologically, emotionally and physically), but she persevered, because she has a tenacity of spirit that no one can ever take away from.
Wolf is an alpha to the core, add to that his amazing psychic ability and hot body, and I end up having to have to fan myself at the mere thought of him. Yet he wasn’t always as strong as he could’ve been throughout the story, this made him completely human in my eyes, more accessible and less deliciously perfect, but a better more accessible hero. He and Meli were a match made in heaven.
Just so you know before you start reading the book, Ms. Gray is horrible to her characters (For her sake I hope they never come to life), which makes the book that more intriguing because you really have no idea what’s coming next.
