Caius

Rate this book
Caius, An Un-Bearable Knight Caius Pembroke, immortal Knight of the Round Table and modern day adventure traveler, is one grouchy bear of a man. He's spent the past 1500 years guarding a metal shard belonging to the Holy Grail. The Grail is the only thing that can awaken his brother King Arthur in Avalon and stop the demon forces of the evil sorcerer Mordred from ruling the world. As if Caius already didn't have his work cut out for him. the Grail shard just had to choose a stubborn, saucy-tongued modern maiden to be its new keeper. Junior accountant Karlie Sutton is all set to start over in small town Camelot Springs, miles away from the stressful hustle of NYC. During a hike in the park, she discovers a mysterious metal shard that looks like it belongs to a really old cup. When she's pursued by both demons and a foul-tempered yet ridiculously hot blond bear shifter for the shard, she wonders whether it was wise to leave the Big Apple for the big bad woods. Can Caius and Karlie work together to return the Grail Shard to its rightful place in Avalon, or will they drive each other mad before they get started? Heed the Grail's call to love and adventure in this steamy, hilarious, fast-paced paranormal romance, CAIUS, first in the Knight Shifters of the Grail series! This story contains a HEA, but the characters make an appearance in future books in this paranormal romantic comedy series that puts a sassy new spin on the heroic Arthurian legend.

This is pretty good, it's heavy on the good and not so good magical fantasy side for the foundation of the series mission or purpose of Caius, all that was interesting and with some touching moments, romance is secondary.

Straight forward.

Not a bad read. Th lot is pretty straightforward and based on well-known mythology. It was neither boring or exciting; a solidly-written short story.
