Kitty Berry grew up an only child who never wished for a sibling in a small town in Connecticut. After graduating with a degree in Early Childhood Special Education, she began teaching in the field and started to raise a family. Her literary influences happened later in life when she stumbled upon The Pilot’s Wife by Anita Shreve after seeing it featured on the Oprah Show. It was her late mother’s (whose name she uses as a pen name) desire of becoming a writer that prompted Kitty to create a contemporary romantic series. Being a creative person by nature who came into writing during a time in her life when the busy balance of career and family made her crave an escape into the world of romance, Kitty took that desire and turned it into a romantic series that offers the reader multidimensional characters. In 2013, she published her first novel from The Stone Series, Sliding. Since then she has written 10 other novels in that series, among them Stoned, Second Chances, Surrender, Starting Over, and Silence. The final installment, Survivor was released in 2016. A holiday edition was released in late 2018. Since then, Berry has released a trilogy titled, The Anatomy of Love and written a carry-over stand-alone novel, Vines of Ivy. In 2019, she released the Compatible Companions Trilogy. Because angst-ridden, plot-driven, women's contemporary romances mesmerize Kitty, Berry writes only in that genre. While each book in The Stone Series can stand alone with its own story, Berry’s intention was to create carry-over characters to satisfy the need of the reader to know more after each novel ends. As an avid reader herself, Kitty enjoys the feeling of being there with the characters inside the story and often finds herself wanting to know more about them, missing them when the story is over, and becoming excited all over again when she discovers those familiar characters in subsequent novels. It is her hope that The Stone Series will do the same for her readers. Kitty is married to a man she met in graduate school and has three boys who are almost men. Kitty recently founded RomantiConn (a romance author signing event annually held in CT) and is currently working on the Falls Village anthology hybrid with her fellow RomantiConn authors. “Screen Play” is Book Five in the [Stone Series]. It is an inter-connected standalone and best read with other books in the series, as we catch up with characters from previous works.
This work focuses on Baily and Nix: an author and producer. Baily Connors is an inexperienced college student who takes an erotica fiction class and turns out a best seller. Nix, is the producer who plans to bring the work to the big screen.
Their relationship turns from professional to personal and Baily enters the world of BDS&M.
There is a lot to like about this book: some of the erotic scenes in the work are super-steamy. It has multiple settings (London, New York) and many character points of view. You learn more about the main characters through the insights of others. There is mystery and miscommunications; characters you like and others that make you want to throw your kindle.
There are also issues that are distracting. The work changes from first person, to second, and to third. The multiple character arcs in the story make the central plot difficult to follow. Rather than supporting the main storyline, it tends to divert off course.
We thoroughly enjoyed earlier works in the series, however, and recommend it. We also look forward to more from this author.
A sinfully delicious story that burns up the pages. If you love a romance with lots of angst, sexual dominance, and sensuality then Screen Play is the book for you. The story follows the tale of Nix and Bailey and other characters from the Stone Series. It was a definite page turner and ends with a cliffhanger that leaves you wanting more and more:)
This beautifully intriguing story will captivate you from the get-go. It is a romance with mystery, suspense, angst, and so well thought out. Bailey Connors's first novel goes viral and is optioned by London producer Phoenix Doyle. Nix is immediately attracted to Bailey and tells her that in order for the movie to be accurate he must teach her his lifestyle. Nix brings his sister Arizona to the states with him in hopes of changing her bad behaviors. But there is much danger ahead. I love how so many of the wonderful, strong, and colorful characters in the first 4 books in this series again appear in this story. I love this story and how it leads us into the next book. It will really wow you.
From virginal to sex kitten is the journey Bailey takes when her book turns into a movie and she needs the help of sex god Nix to make the steamy parts of her book more realistic. The give and take between these characters was a joy to read and the growth that they shared with every turn of the page makes this book a true masterpiece. Kitty Berry has a unique way to make even the simple things extravagant and takes her readers on such fabulous rides. Once again another book in the series that does not disappoint!!
Bailey has written a best seller erotica story but she has never had any of her own, he comes Nix the producer that also a Dom and he is going to make Bailey learn what she wrote. Bailey is very insecure and to have Nix be attracted to her makes her question his motives but she wants to learn and who better to teach her. Great story and I love how the other characters are included.

When her first novel goes viral and is picked up by a famous London based movie producer Bailey will not only be thrown into a life of glamour but also into a life of erotic romance. That famous producer is none other than Phoenix Doyle. Phoenix has wanted to make it big in the States for some time and now is the perfect opportunity.
