I thank Writers Melon for having sent me this wonderful book.

Self help books always give us useful guidelines and memorable  lessons  to improve  our quality of life. Today’s consumerism driven society with high stress culture paves way to the necessity of such books. They teach us skills for our self-mastery  and thereby leading a peaceful, happy and contended life.

Nowadays the attention the youngsters attribute to these sorts of books  dwindles .They should realize the significance of them as they serve as a sure companion in the journey of personal development .I love  these books as they remind me to review my lifestyle and make necessary corrections for my well being and betterment.

The plan

10 Essentials to the Blueprint of HAPPINESS is a classic   Self help book as its catchy title and the lovely cover coax me read the book . It is a brilliant book on self improvement. It teaches us the principles of attaining happiness by making changes and understanding the different aspects of our life .

The book starts with the following nugget of wisdom.

“Remember,no man is a failure who has friends”

                                                                                      -Frank Capra’s Movie –It’s a Wonderful life (1946)

It ends with the following words

As Grammy –winning singer Bobby McFerrin rightly sums up life in mere four words-

Don’t Worry…………………….Be Happy.

The Synopsis given on the back side of the cover includes the following sentence highlighting the book's uniqueness.

“Ten Essentials to the Blueprint of Happiness “delightfully portrays interlinked stories from everyday modern life that can change you forever with everlasting bliss.

The book starts with a Preface  which it says as follows:

So let’s go through ten practical tips that would freshen you and make life livable even under stressful circumstances.

Then there is the  introduction .Are  you Happy?

There are 10 chapters ,each giving a thorough discussion with stories and essays with bullets and list points. The subjects include self  discovery commination action ,Marriage, sex ,money,Travel originality share and care and God. There are anecdotes ,questions and answers , inferences ,ideas and suggestions to fit the topic the chapter relates as well as the happenings in the life of the MCs in the stories to substantiate

If the first chapter deals with Gossip ,the third one hints at perception and charisma. Like this all the facets of life are discussed elaborately .There are some instructions and action exercises to motivate you , take necessary steps to achieve happiness in our life.

My favorite

I like the following words of the author on happiness

Happiness is the sole goal of the soul’s journey in every human life, and sometimes it may take the soles off your boot in this journey.

On a more philosophical note, we can never truly taste success if we haven’t suffered the pain of failure , just like we will never know what happiness is if  we have never suffered a tragedy.

I admire Sneha for all her wise advises on money. She represents women's empowerment. The story of Varsha melts our heart as she suffers from Anthropophobia

My verdict.

Bhanu Arora ,the versatile author has crafted the book with his excellent  writing flair . The persuasive and poetic prose would engage us with a pleasant ride in this great journey of motivation.I like the racy literary style of the author and the rhyme and  rhythm have enthralled me.

I have read the book at one go as it has given me immense pleasure and inspiring .For readers I suggest they should take time to go through the book leisurely each chapter  and catch the nuggets of wisdom he wants to drive in.

I recommend this book to all, young and old for a hearty read  and assure yourself an everlasting happiness.  It is a good investment.

Don’t wait but buy the book immediately

The author has pin pointed out 10 aspects of life which, when done correctly will contribute to your overall happiness in life. They are gossips, communication, action, marriage, sex, money, travel, live original life, share and remember almighty.

Gossips contributes to happiness. I got straightened immediately when I read this. Now, how that is possible, something I was wondering. The author advocates that gossiping is good if filters are attached and could be beneficial as well. Gossips many a times gives away some vital information which could help in self improvement, avoiding problems and mistakes and who knows some good career prospects as well. So gossiping not only helps in maintaining social circle but when used ingeniously helps in contributing in social happiness as well. Of course you have to let go of irrelevant gossips which could have negative effect as well.

Author also explains importance of communication in relationship as imperative in life. So is the requirement of action for the implementation of idea. I also loved the chapter on money. According to him, money loves to remain in circulation. So instead of hoarding money in your safe, spend it prudently. In order to make way for more money to come in your safe. But I was not much in favour of author’s opinion about marriage and sex. (more about it can be read on the blog https://thebookworld.org)

The book has been written in the style similar to Robin Sharma's Monk series self help book. Here Bhanu Arora has written various short stories which led to the final take away from that story. The stories served the purpose of build-up for the message. Presenting the lessons in this way made the book one interesting read but. Initially this setting seems to work. Short stories were interesting to read and lesson drawn from them were relevant to the story. But same cannot be true for all the 10 Points which forms the base of the book. The lessons which the author wants to put forward not always sync with the short story.

The aspects of life on which author concentrate in the book helps in improving the quality of life, helps in achieving small materialistic happiness. These, definitely, doesn't overall contribute to the ultimate happiness and peace of mind. In fact true happiness is above all these things.

I am not quite keen to use the word self-help while referring to a book. If you can help yourself what is the role of book. Well, it depends on the how one perceives the whole concept. What I was insinuating was that I would not like to term this as a self-help book. This is more like a friend telling us the blueprints of happiness from his experiences.

Experience is the best teacher. If we read a whole 500 page book of how to be happy, nothing would remain in your mind unless you can relate to the topics discussed. Even if the topics discussed are relateable, still the book might not engage you if not narrated in a way that holds your interest. That's where Bhanu Arora excelled as a writer. From the beginning itself, author succeeded in holding the interest of the reader. His dilemma while his wife is in travail was easily conveyed. We have often witnessed people who always mind their own business in an extremely literal sense. Only when they face a difficult situation does they realize that minding other's business is also important. But to how extend is also important. If someone keep on poking their nose in other's business then it is sleazy. Author has conveyed this simple message along with highly philosophical matters in a simple language, comprehensible to everyone. If someone needs help, he/she need not be well versed in literature. If you need to help someone you should tell them in simple words and that is what this book does.

Happiness is not something that can be served in a golden platter. It is something that lies within. We need to realize it and explore. A great help on that from from the author. One cannot expect a highly philosophical literature with deep metaphors. This book is like a friend who patients tells you life's lessons from his own life , so is the author.

"Ten Essentials to the Blueprint of happiness" is basically a self help book as the name depicts and something very interesting about this book is that each set of advice or life hacks are moulded with a story of its own. This gives the reader the amount of curiosity to stick to the book for a longer period. Something that made me quite confused was the use of same character names multiple times in different stories. If the author had used new name for every new character in each story then it would have made the whole narration a little simpler and clear. Since it’s a self help book it's not something you can finish reading in a glimpse of time. Hence I decided to read the chapters that came under my interest and thought of putting up the review without any further delay. The language used the book is very simple and precise but at few places the story seems a little confusing. Somewhere I felt a lack of clarity overall. But the concept of inducing life hacks by narrating a story was very thoughtful. People who are not much into self guides this book could be a good beginning to start with. Most of the things you will read in this are something you all already know but this book will make you realise how simple it could have been if you had thought about it without being judgmental about yourself. More than being a self help book it's actually a self realisation book.

The reason I picked this book was the title and the cover. Yes I am that person who judges the book by the cover. If anyone wants me to buy their book make sure you present it in a way that I cannot reject. The cover itself looks so happy that I couldn’t stop myself from choosing this book for review. I must agree that I do not regret choosing the book.

Overall a good book for a debut author. I wish I could read the complete book before reviewing but I preferred picking up the chapters that were relevant to me. If you are looking to read something out of your norm try this book as an experiment.

Everyone wants to be happy in life. Though the definition of happiness differ from person to person, one thing is for sure that happiness is a state of mind that can neither be bought or borrowed. One has to learn how to be happy. Some people are born happy whereas some work towards it. “10 Essentials to The Blueprint of Happiness” that has a unique concept where you will find stories revolving around modern everyday life which talk about how to be happy.
There are total ten stories in the book that touch different aspects of life. The stories are simple and very relatable. Anyone leading a urban life will easily relate to the dilemma and situations dealt in the stories. What I liked the most were the simple stories without any sermons and preaching. Otherwise there is always a risk or turning preachy while writing such stories.
The book is a light read with simple and easy language. This makes the read quite effort free and easy. The book has shed some light on the aspects which can make us happy in life without making much efforts. This is a simple read which didn’t take more than a couple of hours to finish.
The cover of the book is very simple. I feel the cover is a very important aspect to attract the readers at the first glance and the book fails at this department. The title of the book is also very non fictitious. It could have been better to attract more readers from fiction category.
Overall, for me “10 Essentials to The Blueprint of Happiness” by Bhanu Arora is an average read which can be read when one is looking for a light read. Does not qualify for a full fledged fiction book neither it comes under spiritual or self help. All in all, may go for it if looking for a quick and easy read.

For the last few months, I have been thinking a lot about happiness. I’ve experienced some changes and difficulties in my personal life and amidst all this, I have been determined to find happiness. This thought of mine was also affected when I read More Happy Than Not by Adam Silvera. So when I saw that Writersmelon had a book up for review that claimed to give us happiness in 10 steps, I immediately rushed to sign up for it.

The book starts with the author sharing a personal experience from his life and then talking about what happiness is. He asks us to evaluate what makes us happy and whether we are happy or not. He talks about the importance of knowing oneself.

The author narrates incidents from his own life and his friends and family in the form of stories. They made the book a bit more interesting and helped us to understand how what the author is saying is useful. There is a detailed analysis of the behavioral traits we have. The booo also provides us with an insight on various aspects of our lives and offers advice on each one of them.

The writing is quite good despite a few grammatical errors. It has a conversational style that makes us read the book quite fast but it’s important to take in everything slowly.

Even though the book is written in a step by step manner, there was a lot of information and explanation of every point. Sometimes I had to read lines twice to fully take in what they actually meant to say.

As the book progressed, my interest started waning. The paragraphs went on and on. The dialogues in the stories were very long and the language used was too formal.

According to me, a self help book should be judged by how well the information in it is delivered and how helpful it is to the reader. It is  important to evaluate the valuable things that we can learn from it. In this book, I found that there was too much information and because of this, it is hard to take out the important stuff and implement it in our lives. The stories went on for too long at times and I was more interested in the moral learned from them.

The beginning of this book kept me very engaged. I think I started losing interest because the later sections of the book were not of importance to me personally. I would say this book is more suitable for people who are 20+

The knowledge provided in this book cannot be absorbed at once so I would definitely like to revisit it in the future. The book is quite inspirational and radiates positivity. I do think that the content could have been delivered in a better way and a bit briefly. Also, I wondered while reading if it’s possible to just create a blueprint of happiness. There wasn’t much that was new to me and It was all just the basic principles we should follow in life.

I do recommend this book if you’re looking to read something in self-help.

10 essentials to the blueprint of happiness, the name easily discloses to you the intent it carries between the covers. The writer – Bhanu Arora pens his personal thoughts and everyday stories into ten chapters each taking the reader towards his belief system around happiness, which is usually accepted & adopted by the society at large.
Anxiety over career progression, office gossips, self-identity, money matters, relationships, travel, leading a dream, believing in supreme power and many other aspects of our daily lives has been painted in a lucid manner by the author and hence makes it a very easy read. Though the author maintains a third person point of narration, but reader can sense his voice across the chapters as there is no single protagonist across all the pages of this self-help book. Each chapter deals with a specific issue actioned through set of characters lightly sketched and carries a self-help mantra as a possible solution. Portrayal of current scenarios & myriad concerns around a modern life dwelling in a city has been well penned but certain references to demonetisation seems unnecessary especially after all fizz around it has died down.I enjoyed reading the chapter on money , it brought about commercial sense in a fun manner without sounding too technical.
I appreciate the effort of the author to bring out his debut book while handling a role of a banker and hopeful that the book will catch attention of young readers. I just wonder whether in today’s whatsapp generation where every day starts with a feel good mantra of life from friends and relatives, would I like to listen to the same knowledge bytes in a form of a book – may be yes – may be no.
Happy to review a debut book of an Indian author, thanks to writersmelon to give this opportunity.

10 Essentials to the Blueprint of Happiness by Bhanu Arora, is a light read on human choices and the decisions that might help them achieve satisfaction in their lives.

The book starts with an experience by the author which tells the reader about the perks of socializing. It lets the reader know about the author happiest moment in life and what helped him realize the meaning of true happiness.

The author has taken the pain of pointing out ten essential points that are somewhat related to the modern day happiness . He has explained each thing with examples, which are mostly stories or life experiences of people around him. He not only gave insights on how to deal with a certain issue, he also wrote about the point of view of the one in the ordeal so as to make the reader understand and not repeat the same mistakes in life.

The book is more inclined towards the people who are probably facing the mid life crisis and has the capacity of help them, as most of the experiences are from the ones with busy work lives.

The book had a great start but the presentation was somewhat dull. The reader might lose interest and procrastinate, even though the book is of merely 132 pages.

As the title suggests, the book is divided into ten chapters, each of them forms an essential to the blueprint of happiness as mentioned by the Author. There is an introduction corner where the author talks about the meaning of happiness, about belief, self knowledge, change, and goal setting.
