After catching her boyfriend cheating, Emily reacts badly and gets arrested. She's sentenced to help a police officer teach at-risk kids how to skate. But Emily hasn't been on skates since she was five. This leads her to take lessons from a friend of a friend. Hockey enforcer Michael, otherwise known as The Goon, is not what she expected. He's patient, charming and someone she genuinely likes. So, when she discovers the girl he's dating is the same girl her ex was cheating with, she's left with the task of telling Michael. Their connection bonds them. But being each other's rebound isn't a good way to start a relationship. And if that were their only problem they might have a shot, but there's more to their stories than meets the eye.

The Goon is a full length contemporary romance novel with a HEA. Although part of a series, it may be read as a standalone novel.

Sara Hubbard is a romantic fiction author. Her debut novel released fall 2012 and was a NEORWA Cleveland Rocks winner and a RCRW Duel on the Delta finalist. Sara lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two children (four if you count her husband and her needy labradoodle) and works as a registered nurse.

The girl is more of a "goon" than the guy. She gets probation for using a baseball bat on the wrong guy's car after her catching the boyfriend cheating on her. She has a temper.
So it's not so much a hockey book at all. Still it's a college age girl trying to figure stuff out and be a better person kind of a story. She works out too much in her head but luckily she has a good friend and now a decent boyfriend to encourage her.
Coming of age thing.

They were absolutely, unequivocally perfect!!!

They had me smiling throughout this whole book and left my heart so happy. It was exactly what I needed.

I love Sara, and have loved every single one of her books she’s written...but I think this book and Michael has taken the top spot or is on equal footing to Declan and InCapable.

Loved it! My new book boyfriend!! Goon aka is so stinkin lovable. He is all about honesty. And he is a hunk. And is everything Emily needs in a man. She has her on issues with trying to not go to jail. And boy is there drama in this book! Whoa! And a lot of hot sexy. Double Whoa!! This book is a must read. It had me on the seat of my chair. Needing to find out what happens next.

This book was so cute. I loved it. The romance was fire, the chemistry was there, the drama was there. It was perfect.
