Submission Is Her Only Power!
Wow! What a great read from the very first page, fast paced action,page after page, absolutely brilliant! so full of intrigue, betrayal, greedy politicians who are power hungry, kidnapping and death and that’s just for starters. You will never know what are lies and what are truths in this wild paced story. It never stops with all the twists and turns in this superb read by this new magnificent author. I shall certainly be watching for any of her reads in the future. The descriptive prose of this superb author is amazing, it made me feel I was in that book with them, I felt it all!
Once you meet Jack in this roller coaster of a read, you will want to heal him too, he is a dark broken man and Riley really wants to accept her Dark Angel and put him back together! Is Jack her knight in shining armour,? or is he the Beast he portrays? You will have to read this highly recommended novel to find out!

Riley signs a contract for several million dollars to Jack Turner. He is in charge of the mob in New York City. It was that or try to ransem her back to her family. Plus, she saved her ex from losing his fingers. He took her to secret poker game and lost eleven million dollars. So, Jack took Riley! At first, Jack wanted to " train " her for his !on boss. After him spanking her several times and refusing her clothes and chaining her to wall, she doesn't change her beliefs . But it back fires on Jack. He falls in love with Riley and can't allow her to go. She falls in love with the good side of Jack. But there are misunderstandings and gunfire between them. Then he has to rescue her from his dangerous mob boss. But it has a surprise ending with a happily ever after. Lots of BDSM themes and sex. So, adults only!

great cover, newbie author to me ... never sure how Amazon does it ... suggests these books to me and like were they not authors yesterday ... weird. but the point being glad they suggest them or i might never hear about them. sucked into a totally different world and that dude on the cover is totally staring u down. yep! eye war. eye candy. whichever. look forward to reading more from Tamsin (new name to me, nice to meet ya!) Powerful story
This is a powerful story between Riley and Jack.
Riley is engaged to Caleb, and was very unhappy with how he was treating her. But he asked her to go with him one night ...out. This interested her as he rarely asked her to go with him. Turns out he went gambling. There were several others at the game, including a man who looked older, slouched down and poor. What hen Caleb spent all his cash...he put Riley in the pile, and lost. Turns out he now owes the mob eleven million dollars.
Jack was from the mob and he procures women for his boss for shipment as slaves. And he wanted Riley for himself. So he forgave the 11 million dollar debt, sort of.
This is a fast moving, long story full of alpha mob, sexual activity and fast paced action.
I loved the book, loved the characters, loved the story line, and was sad when the story ended.
This book is for mature readers due to the sexual content.
If you want to find out the rest of the story.. buy and read the book. You won't be sorry.

“Sexy-steamy, dark & suspense-filled thriller”
I received an Advance Reader Copy for TAKEN AS HIS PRIZE: A Dark Romance (Fallen Empire, Book #1) written by Tamsin Bacall and voluntarily reviewed this book. Jack Turner is a man who runs most of New York’s crime syndicate, and he saw an opportunity to have Riley Lark, a woman who showed up at the right time, right for his plucking. Now as his unwilling prisoner, Riley is trained to by Jack be his possession, to respond to his touch, which her body likes…no matter how much her brain protests. But Riley was only his toy until she is given as promised to his partner, a man who is rumored to be even dangerous than Jack.
This was my first read from this author, and I found it to be wholly engaging, with both characters struggling to deny their heated chemistry for each other, well balanced against the mafia backdrop. I definitely look forward to reading more of this author’s stories!

Great dark mafia romance!
Riley never really saw herself as much of anything other than ordinary. Her family, friends and even her own fiancè never compliment her. In fact they are downright cruel and make her feel inadequate constantly. Her fiancè, Caleb drags her to a high stakes poker game with him and ends up losing quite a huge chunk of money that he can't pay back. As things beat up Caleb decides to tell Jack, the mob boss for New York city, to take Time has payment instead of his hand or anything else. Grab this book today to find out what happens to Riley. This is an emotionally charged story and comes with a few different twists that make it one he'll of a ride. One of the best dark romances!!!
Wow I really loved this book hard. The characters really had depth. I was having a love/hate thing for Jack. I admired the fight that Riley had in her. She has heart and brains. Willing to go to great lengths to protect others before herself. Riley's and Jack's connection was complicated and dark but also sensual and electrifying at times. I loved the happy ever after. This was the first book I've read by Tamsin Bacall and I can't believe I'm just discovering her work.

You don't know Jack!
I lost a lot of sleep over this book and it was so worth it! Jack took Riley from her fiance over a huge gambling debt. He wanted her but wanted to defile her even more. Riley was defiant and tough. Jack was so conflicted. He is such a perfect villain with a little heart. Oh did I mention drop dead gorgeous. Without giving to much away just go ahead and read it. Excellent story, perfect amount of naughtiness, and if course a happy ending. I definitely recommend this.

Don't waste your time or your money
I love reading dark romances especially anything to do with the Mafia. This however no just no. Unrealistic!! I made it to 55% and couldn't keep going. The main characters irritated the heck out of me. Riley was annoying. The author tried to write her as a strong woman but she came off weak in my mind. And the male lead Jack major let down written to be an a*hole and never recovered.
It's hard to find a good mafia read. They start off OK and the go down hill quickly. Just like this one did. Don't waste your time find something else.

Exaggeration.. Silly..
I have read many dark slave type novels and everyone has the same basic concept for the leading lady. She defies in words and thoughts and her actions are dumb and skewed morally. I really would love to see the lead lady giving a good fight before she succumb to the weakness.. But all these dark novels have the most annoying weak ladies and its very predictable and get boring.. Thjs book is no different.. All talks but nothing in action.. No defiance at all.. Alot of exaggeration..

Really enjoyed this debut
This unique heroine and her anti hero are stand out characters. Dark mafioso,non con,captive storyline with BDSM elements highlighting humiliation and spanking must be in your wheelhouse. The sexy storyline with its action and thrilling conclusion was compelling if not a bit untenable but I am all about the fantasy and was able to go with the flow and appreciate the escapism. Will read more from this new author.

Enjoyable
Enjoyable read. Riley is taken as payment for fiances gambling debt. The expected happens.
The only thing that interrupted my reading flow was a couple of times people were described as white. Wasn't any need or relevance to point this out. Like the 'old white men' in the boardroom was one of the times. If there was a point to this I completely missed it? Anyway, lost a star for it. The other star was lost just for the story being nothing out of the ordinary.

Tamsin has my attention
First book I've read by the author Tamsin Bacall. I read this book a few years ago and I'm glad to have found it again. I enjoyed reading this as much as I did the first time around. I admire Rileybfor holding out so long, in other novels of this nature, the heroine would've caved like 40% into the book. I loved riley for her strength and discovering who she is in this book

I truly enjoyed this book. I liked the character development. I was a little disappointed in the ending. I felt like Jack capitulated how his personality had been a little too quickly. I love an HEA ending but felt a little dissatisfied with the sudden touchy feely Jack at the end.

Not as dark (thankfully) BUT very romantic
This book was an excellent read with enough action and drama to satisfy any reader. It was a quick read and well worth the money! I will definitely be on the lookout for more books from this author. Happy reading fellow bookworms :-*

I love happy endings!
Unexpected action! Lots of snarky and sass! The back and forth with trying to redeem one’s self is a crazy ride and this story was one that I enjoyed very much!

Love the hard way
Riley seems to be a dreamer. She is stronger than she knows. Jack does not live up to his killer persona. Jack has a heart under all of those scars. The ending was action packed.

Surprised it was so good
I'm actually surprised this was such a good book. I got hooked after the first few pages. I enjoyed the characters except for Caleb, and I'm looking forward to reading more books from Tamsin Bacall. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely!

Kept me guessing.
A great story.kept me guessing right up to the end.I'm glad Riley got what she wanted in the end and they both admitted Their true feelings. A great Love story under all the violence and corruption.

Couldn’t finish
At about 55% I just started skipping through the heroine is awful, he’s not that alpha. Just blah and boring and she got on my nerves a lot.
