Rhys thought he’d escaped his abusive cultist husband, but shortly after settling back into Oceanport, he discovers he’s pregnant—from his ex. Determined to give his baby a good life and to do it without his ex’s knowledge, Rhys needs a job. Luckily, his brother’s wedding planner needs a manny. Which sounds perfect, until Rhys shows up for the interview and he realizes his new boss used to be his secret childhood crush.
Ethan spends his life planning everyone else’s happy ever afters—too bad he can’t make that work for his own life. He certainly never planned for his wife to walk out on him, or to end up the single father of two boys, yet somehow that’s where he’s found himself. But if it’s hard on him, it’s worse for his sons. Emotionally wounded, 3-year-old Caleb’s struggled in every daycare Ethan’s tried, and 12-year-old Nathan’s chased off every nanny Ethan’s hired in between. Ethan needs someone special, who can bridge the growing gap between him and the boys and make them whole again.
In Rhys, Ethan finally finds that someone. But as he watches Rhys’s slowly knit his family back together, he finds himself falling for the courageous young omega. Only, Rhys is still healing himself from his last relationship, and so is Ethan. It looks hopeless. But Rhys is done running, and Ethan has a plan—can they create their own happy ending from the ashes of their past?
Ann-Katrin Byrde is a writing duo comprised of Ana J. Phoenix and Kate Lowell. As a team they strive to bring you the best mpreg stories they can. They both love to write, read and dream. In their spare time, you can often catch them hunting wild plot bunnies in the fields of their imagination.
Awwwwwwww I loved this! This one is probably tied with the third book in the series as my favorites, heck, it might slightly edge out Kade and Shane's story, honestly. Because I adored Rhys and Ethan.
Rhys has just gotten out from the cultish religious group that he was in and is trying to get a divorce from his husband - he's also just discovered that he's pregnant. Looking for a job now that he's in Oceanport, his brother suggests he be a manny for his wedding planner, Ethan.
Like I said, I loved Rhys and Ethan together, (I love that they were switching things up in bed!), and I loved the family that they made. I loved Ethan's kids, and how much they came to want Rhys be a part of their family, especially Nathan! (And awww, Nathan with his crush). That's what I love about Ann-Katrin's books, and this series especially - the sense of family. There are so many couples from her previous books involved, and I love getting to see them pop back up.
There is of course some drama - both Rhys and Ethan are trying to get divorces from their spouses, and neither one are very easy to deal with. But I love that after Rhys and Ethan talk, they are very steadfast in their love for the other, and determined to make things work.
Also? Conner and Jake are my OTP and I can't wait for their story. They still have some growing to do (I think with the epilogue jumping ahead a year and a half they're like...15 now?) but if ANYONE gets in between these two sweetie pies I will end them! :P
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I am obsessed with any book miss byrde writes but this one has to be my favorite so far. I was looking forward to rhys's book. I also loved how she snuck connor & jake in there. I cannot wait for the next ocean port book. i never want this series to end!
I received this book by the author for a honest opinion. This is the 5th book in the oceanport series and is the book of Rhys who in the previous book of his brother who helps him to escape the clutches of his vinist(religious cult) husband. Bruised, battered and disillusioned with life he's on the mercy of his family but that all changes when with the help of his twin he gets a job as a Manny. The only problem with his new job is that he's working for a man who hes had a crush on since he was a kid. Slowly but surely this progresses into a full fledged relationship. But its not all plain sailing what with children still in distress of there mother being absent and a vinist husband who just won't sign the divorce papers and being pregnant by said husband its a bit of a long road to their happy. I really enjoyed this book and once more being immersed into the world of oceanport. This book had some difficult subjects to tackle but did so perfectly and I loved the characters. There was some really sweet moments and quite thoughtful (the butterfly plasters) and I liked that Rhys wasn't quite a social butterfly who found it easy to interact with people. A really good read which I was expecting and was not disappointed.
This is a sweet story of second chances for both MCs. They both have had disastrous first marriages and deserve nothing but the best the second time around. I love Ann-Katrin's take on the omegaverse and MPreg. I spent a good amount of this book with a sappy smile on my face, occasionally sighing with happiness. It was the perfect way to spend a weekend!
This is a great story if you are looking for a fun, romantic, fluffy listen. John Solo does a fantastic job with the narration. There is very little angst, lots of family values, other couples in love, and friendship in the small town of Oceanport. I enjoyed how the children were portrayed as real and troublemakers, adding to the story instead of being angels.
Wow! Despite enjoying all of the other books in the Oceanport Omegas series I didn't anticipate how wonderful this story would be. Two men, an Alpha and an Omega, one abandoned by a spouse, leaving two sad, confused, and and hurt children behind. The other had been rescued from a repressed Omega Alpha dominated Vinist "cult". The Vinists had been so rigid the Omega was not encouraged to keep in contact with his large close family, in particular his twin brother. This is a lengthy book that pulls the reader in and keeps you hoping as well as guessing. I read this ARC in exchange for an honest review, but I enjoyed it so much I acquired the book in order to support the author to encourage her to keep writing.
If you have kept up with the couples from the previous Oceanport books, you will be happy to revisit with them in addition to meeting new characters. One of them is Ethan, the Wedding Planner, an Alpha & primary main character who will be coordinating the weddings of two couples, one full of wild & ever changing ideas. Ethan is a patient man. He has to be since at times he has to corral runaway brides and talking nervous grooms down from the roof. Luckily Ethan has his good friend and go to Florist also known as the biggest Gossip in town, but always a friendly ear to voice complaints as long as they're nothing salacious she can spread across town.
Romance, broken hearts, blackmail, and lies are running rampi in the small picturesque Maine oceanside community. The Wedding Planner needs another of a rapidly dwindling supply of Nannies that his rebellious twelve year old son keeps running off, despite not being able to care for himself or even of greater concern his little three year old brother. Fortunately one of Ethan's clients has a twin brother who is searching for a job. As an Omega, Rhys has had child care training in school, and knows how to run an household from the very rigorous training and expectations of the Vinist community he'd finally gotten away from.
Rhys became a Godsend to the little family. He returned the stability that was sorely missing. He and the boys got along great, keeping each others confidences. Opening up when they felt they couldn't with their Dad. Rhys was beginning to make the house a home again. There was an electrical charge that sparked between the Wedding Planner and the Manny, but both were too ethical to cross the Boss / Employee boundary. Until the little tradition of kissing under the mistletoe.
This was such a sweet story yet full of drama and angst. Rhys and Ethan were perfect for each other except a few little matters: a secret pregnancy, a child sorely missing his mother, gossip, loss business, and oh yeah that small thing of both of them only being Almost Divorced.
It's always a pleasure to go back to Oceanport, and read these wonderful stories. I enjoy seeing the characters of past books show up, because it is like meeting old friends, but more importantly, I get to read a lovely romantic story about an omega getting his happy ending. This time around, it is Rhys who gets his prince charming, and Ethan is wonderful. Working as a wedding planner, Ethan needs all the help he can get, after his harpy of a wife decides to abandon him and their boys without a backwards glance. His children are going through a difficult time emotionally, which is causing the oldest boy to act up, causing all the nannies to quit, and leaving Ethan in the lurch. Since he needs to earn a living, he is in dire need of a good nanny, and this is how Rhys comes to work for him. Rhys is also in trouble, as he is living with family, with no income and a baby on the way, while still living with the fear that his horrible, fundamentalist monster of a husband will show up and try to take him back to the cult. Making matters even more complicated is that Rhys used to nurse a humongous crush on Ethan when they were younger, and Ethan has a romantic heart and a soft spot for people in trouble. Their attraction is immediate and phenomenal, but their relationship develops quite naturally, there is no rush and, differently from the other stories, there is no heat to cloud their feelings for each other, no crazy, unavoidable pheromone induced mating. They simply like and then love each other naturally. This is not to say that there isn't any passion between them, because oh there is! Their love scenes will raise a person's blood pressure. I liked that they complimented each other very well, and that Rhys' sweet gentle nature made Ethan's kids feel safe and happy, so that their becoming a family wasn't too angsty or problematic. There are obstacles in their way, in the shape of undesirable, horrible exes, and some miscommunications, but the happily ever after is well developed and well deserved. Ethan is able to show Rhys that he is worth more than his "good" omega qualities, and Rhys is finally able to see how a real alpha treats his mate.
In a word: Read the thing. Another great installment into the Oceanport Omegas series. Featuring the twin brother of one of the leads of the previous book, this book is mostly about moving on after toxic relationships and finding love again. We were first introduced to Rhys in the previous book, as his twin brother was trying to help him escape from a cult he’d married into. It was hard going, but Rhys is free now and just waiting for his shitty husband to sign divorce papers. One small issue he has now is that he’s pregnant by his ex, which could possibly threaten his new-found freedom. All he can do is hope that he can get his divorce without his husband finding anything out. In the meantime, he’s staying with his cousin’s family in Oceanport and needs to get a job to support himself. This is where Ethan comes in. Ethan is a newly single father – his wife having run off in the night a year before – and is in need of a nanny. Rhys’ brother volunteers him for the job and that is truly that. This is a fairly standard parent/nanny romance, but I still loved it. There’s some drama in the story with both Rhys and Ethan’s toxic exes, Rhys’ pregnancy, and Ethan’s children’s behaviours, but this sticks to the Oceanport Omegas tradition of not going over the top with the drama. At least, between the two leads. Rhys and Ethan’s relationship ran pretty smoothly despite all the potential obstacles thrown at it, and any miscommunication arose honestly and didn’t stretch out for too long. Along with Ethan, Rhys, and the children, I enjoyed seeing cameos from the characters in previous books, and those characters show up a lot (which makes sense since I’m pretty sure Rhys is related to most of them). Especially Connor and Jake, who seem to be developing a cute little romance of their own in the background. With Rhys and Ethan both working to move on from their past relationships to form something new together, I really enjoyed this story. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.
Omega Rhys escapes a bad marriage (and a cult) and becomes a manny to wedding planner Ethan's two kids. Only Rhys is harboring secrets...he's pregnant with his ex's baby, and he's falling in love with his employer.
As with the other Oceanport Omega books, family, mpreg, and children are central to the story. In this case, it's Ethan's two sons plus Rhys's impending little arrival. Complicating matters are that Rhys and Ethan are both still married but separated from their spouses (so there's no real sense of cheating here).
There is some mild steam between Rhys and Ethan, but I'd say it's less heated than the previous books. Characters from those books also play a part in this story, including Rhys's twin Nick, so I'd recommend reading those beforehand.
Narrator John Solo delivers a good performance here overall. I liked his voice for Rhys, but not so much for Ethan...I found it too measured and clipped, which I'm assuming was intentional, but it didn't seem to fit the character for me. The female voices also leave much to be desired.
Oh, my Goodness! We finally got another Oceanport Omega book and is it a doozie. Rhys is the twin of Nick from the last Oceanport story that was married to Jeremy, a member of a very strict religious cult that suppressed Omega’s. Ethan’s wife left him and his two adorable children Nathan 12 and Caleb 3. He needed a nanny for the boys but Nathan kept running them off because he didn’t like them for one reason or another. Then Nick told Ethan that his brother Rhys was looking for employment. They hit it off right away and sparks started flying between the family and Rhys. There is a lot of ups and downs but they really do get their HEA. As usual Ann has another winner on her hands with this close knit family group and as usual you get an update on the other family members. So dust off your reader, set back and enjoy another walk thru Oceanport!
I cannot say enough good things about this book, this author or this series. I absolutely loved it! We have met Rhys in previous books and I felt sorry for him because of how he was treated in the Vintist community and especially by his husband. I hate the way Omegas are treated by some people just because they are Omegas. Ethan is such a great Alpha and he was so good for Rhys and in true un-Alpha behavior stepped up and claimed Rhys' baby from his ex so he could be saved from that horrible "religion". Rhys is such a good fit in Ethan's family with the boys and all the hurt their mother caused and then came back in the picture to cause. I applaud both Rhys and Ethan for standing up for themselves with their respective exes.
I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
The Wedding Planner’s Manny is the fifth book in the Oceanport Omegas series. This series should be read in order for maximum enjoyment.
Rhys married his husband expecting a romance but instead found himself trapped in a cultish nightmare. He finally escaped his abusive husband and suffocating cult only to find himself adrift and lost. Working as Ethan’s manny gives him the stability and purpose he needs to move his life forward. Not only does he find himself a new job, but Rhys ends up finding love and a family. I adored this book. Watching Rhys find himself and fall in love was beautiful. There was a lot of emotional and dramatic moments, but it was balanced out with some sweet fluff and steamy moments.
Rhys is pregnant and back in Oceanport after leaving his deeply religious bigoted husband. He takes a job as a manny to look after single father, Ethan’s adorable kids. Rhys has never been good socially and I loved his uncertain, socially awkward but very kind personality. Since Ethan’s wife had left him, I was expecting a straight-to-gay or GFY journey, but Ethan didn’t struggle for a second. I liked the “revenge of the exes” storylines, with both Rhys and Ethan struggling to disentangle themselves. Overall: pleasant, cute, and very likeable. 🎧 John Solo does a great job narrating this series.
The Wedding Planner's Manny is book five in the Oceanport Omegas series by Ann-Katrin Byrde and like the previous books in the series, delivers a wonderful and we'll written story with loveable characters. Ethan is a loving Alpha that shows omega Rhys that not all Alphas are horrible lime his ex, and is willing to have a relationship with Rhys even though he carries another man's child. Rhys helps heal Ethan and his 2 sons from the scars of an ex's abandonment. Together they build a family. Definitely a recommended book.
Another great Oceanport story. Reese is recovering from his marriage and the mental games that were played. Ethan has his own past baggage. Both are kind of in a limbo between the past and present. But there is a past that goes back even further and that seems to open up more between them. Together they each have the strength to put there past behind them and move toward a future together. I like how Ethan has Reese's back without question. His willingness to be less than typical shows his real strength.
I was really interested in seeing more of Rhys after his appearance in the previous book, I especially wanted to know how he ended up marrying into such an oppressive culture because he seems really level-headed. Either way, I liked him and Ethan together, they had a really sweet slow-build romance that I totally bought even though it also kind of happened suddenly. The one thing I wish was different was that I wish Ethan had been introduced earlier in the series just so he was more familiar.
I had thought this was going to be a good story to read. Boy was I ever fooled! It was boring. The book was too long. I got tired of the back and forth of Jeremiah keep getting mentioned in just about every chapter. And the grandmother, even though it was a nice gesture for the author to bring her into the picture, I got tired of her as well. Then the cherry on the top, Laura makes her appearance! What a piece of cow dung Laura is. The book should be rewritten and shortened. It's not worth reading in its present form.
I was so glad to see Rhys get to a safe place and find happiness with Ethan. Both of the guys were coming off a stressful/challenging relationship, and neither of them were really in the right headspace at the beginning, but it was great how they both really just supported each other and became friends naturally (even with Rhys working for Ethan) before advancing things. I loved Rhys' relationship with the kids, and I was glad to see the other couples thriving and moving forward with their lives.
Book number five is just as incredible as the first in the series. Sweet Rhys and Ethan are just meant to be. And I fell completely in love with little Caleb and Nathan. I love how the kids play an integral part of the story, I read mpreg because I like the family aspect and this author does not ever disappoint. Low angst and genuinely likable characters keep me coming back for more. This author is definitely on my auto buy list for sure.
I enjoyed this one the most out of all of them so far. I liked watching Rhy win over Ethan's kids. It was great to watch both these guys make a family after both of them had been in rather bad marriages. I still don't get why Rhy's continued to defend his ex husband or the appeal of the cult life. Ethan's kink for pregnant people was a little weird as well but this was an enjoyable read in a sereis that too me was feeling a little repetitious.
After reading all of the series this i have to say is the best one to date the way Ryths came into himself after coming from a broken marriage and feeling like he wasn't worth nothing and then meeting Ethan his childhood crush was wonderful and heart warming even his crazy grandmother so can't wait for the next.
I listened to this book instead of reading it. I thought the narration was good. There was an editing mess up on the audio version though. I can't let that effect how I felt about the story. This mpreg series is one of my favorite of the genre. Each story is very sweet and I love the couples. Each book is is as good as the others.
This was really quite charming. We have a very family-oriented alpha and an omega who desperately needs to find his feet and re-establish his life. I loved the kids aspect and how much both MCs grew and supported each other despite the insidious efforts of their no-good spouses.
This is an omegaverse about a manny/nanny omega with some low angst about escaping a cult/abusive husband, but the writting style wasn't working for me and the romance was rushed. I stopped at the middle because it felt like the book could end there and there was still 150 pages left, didn't care enough.
I would have given this book 5 stars as it was that good. The missing star is because of amazon. Many of the pages were missing. Very poor transmission and poor quality control by Amazon!
Omg this book was absolutely amazing. This book was a page turner that I just couldn't stop reading until the end. I had absolutely loved reading this book. I would highly recommended this book.
I really love this series, I do have to accept tho, that Rhys was an idiot for sleeping with his ex just to have him sign the paperwork. But I loved their relationship and their past, plus the children were a plus.
When I encountered Rhys on Nick and Zander's story, I thought I wouldn't like him... but oh boy, when I read his story, I think I like him more than Nick 🤣 Reading this made me want an Ethan for myself. How perfect is he, eh? And I wasn't expecting the Nathan-Conner-Jake scenario there. Cutie!
Another phenomenal book in this series. Beautiful love story. Although there were many bumps along the way, fated love won out in the end. I highly recommend reading this book and the entire series.
