Mistake number one: falling in love with a man who betrayed me. Showing up on his doorstep years later asking for his help? Also not brilliant.
Haven: Naive. Foolish. Call it what you like, but I let myself get conned by a man who claimed he loved me. Nine years later, he’s as sexy and compelling as ever. I find myself wanting to believe he’s changed, wanting to believe I’m his, him to touch me. But how the hell am I supposed to trust a con?
Ethan: Grifter. Master manipulator. Hustler. Call it what you like, but I’m damn good at what I do. I earn trust, I break it, and I never make mistakes. Then Haven knocks on my door, every bit as gorgeous and brilliant and impossible as I remember, with her curves and wholesome innocence. I’ll protect her. Earn her trust. Make her mine.
Fueled by dark chocolate and even darker coffee, USA Today bestselling author Jane Henry writes what she loves to read – character-driven, unputdownable romance featuring dominant alpha males and the powerful heroines who bring them to their knees. She’s believed in the power of love and romance since Belle won over the beast, and finally decided to write love stories of her own.
In book 2 of this series, we get the story of Ethan and Haven. They were together 9 years ago but Ethan was a bad boy back then. In those years, he has come to regret what he did to hurt people and is trying to make up for all the wrongs he did. Haven's parents were one of his "wrongs" so imagine her surprise when she asks for help from the Masters and discovers Ethan is one of them! Shock, anger, hurt and betrayal surge through her as she decides if she wants to continue to get the help she needs from them to get a client, who was wrongly convicted, out of prison. This is a wonderful story of second chances. Jane and Maisy totally bring the characters to life and feel all the emotions as Ethan and Haven struggle to find their HEA! But there are still forces at work who are determined no one will find the answers Haven and ALL the Masters are searching for. Completely fell in love with this book and now I can't wait for the next one!
Awesome ! I found the book to be very intriguing. Full of twist and turns that kept me captivated throughout the entire book. The characters drew me in and kept me wanting more. I definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a great read
Masters of Manhattan, Book #2. The past explodes into the present, and nothing will ever be the same!
Max Pederson's accused of murder. His attorney, Haven Wright, believes he's innocent. But how to prove it? The case against Max is ironclad. In desperation, Max sends Haven to the Masters. Five men, security experts, supposedly hold the key to his innocence? What could these men possibly do to help Max? When Haven shows up at their penthouse apartment, she never expects what she finds. Xavier Malone, the Wall Street tycoon? Anson "Saint" Daly, the legendary thief? Two others, Caelan Jamison and Walker Smith, who she knows nothing about? Seriously? And where's the fifth man? Enter Ethan Warner, consummate conman and Haven's worst nightmare. Nine years ago, Ethan, or Tad as she then knew him, destroyed her life. She's never forgotten, nor forgiven, him. Now she's supposed to accept him, his "team," to save her client? But the case against Max is set in stone. Although she'll never trust Ethan, the Masters seem her only hope to save Max. When the investigation ties Ethan's biggest trauma to Max Pederson, no one, not even Haven, can keep him away. Worse, the explosive chemistry that pulled Haven and Ethan together nine years ago now burns brighter than ever. With the stakes climbing higher with every move, and Ethan put directly in the line of fire, can Haven allow herself to care? Is this just another con? Ethan's the consummate chameleon, always has been. And just how much does she truly know about the other Masters? She fell for the explosive physical chemistry and Ethan's smooth lines once before. She won't be stupid enough to do it again! But when the ultimate betrayal puts Haven's life at stake, can she put her trust in the Masters? Will her past condemn her present? Can shattered trust ever truly be repaired? Or will Haven's belief in redemption doom her, her client, and her entire future?
This book took me by complete surprise. When we first met the Masters, they were a mismatched group of men thrown together by a common goal. They're still a disparate group of men with that same common goal. But while their dedication to that goal is unquestioned, it certainly doesn't mean they've come to grips with their differences. But what makes this story unique are Ethan and Haven. Ethan's suave, easygoing, a natural charmer. But nothing about him is as it seems. And Haven? Dedicated, hardworking, determined, rock steady, Ethan's the last thing she wants or needs. But can that be the truth either? These two are as diametrically opposed as two people could possibly be. The premise of the story is as unusual as it is explosive. Absolutely nothing is clear. None of this should work. The discrepancies between the Masters, Ethan's opportunistic nature, Haven's past trauma, the revelations that slowly emerge throughout the story, everything seems completely unworkable. The scorching heat between Haven and Ethan is the last thing either wants or needs. The over-the-top mystery, constant conflicts, and apparent changing loyalties keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the entire book. The story was so engrossing that I couldn't read fast enough. The action is nonstop and constantly changing. You never know from one page to the next what any of the characters is going to do. Jane Henry and Maisy Archer have again accomplished what seems like the impossible. This story not only works. It's beautifully done and one of the best romantic mysteries I've read. I literally couldn't put this book down. Thank you, Ms. Henry and Ms. Archer, for another fantastic book that I absolutely loved. This book deserves nothing less than five stars!
A final note. This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language and sexual scenes. If you don't enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON'T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON'T ENJOY THE BOOK. It's not fair to the authors. They work hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you'll object to a book's subject matter before you buy it, you're doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.
EARN TRUST, THEN BREAK IT. ASSUME EVERYTHING AND NOTHING.
As a fan of the dynamic writing duo of Jane Henry and Maisy Archer, I was excited when I saw that they had a new series, Master of Manhattan, and couldn’t wait to get into the book. Now, book two, which I have anxiously awaited has arrived, and it was just as intense and exciting as the first.
Who are the Masters? Well, they are five men who inherited a penthouse, a fortune, and enough information to jointly go after a group of criminals who have killed and destroyed many people, good people. But why these five men? Because each one of them lost someone important to them by the same people, and in her dying wish, it was for these men to make justice happen to the guilty, not necessarily through legal means, but however they need to complete their task. Each man is known for their various skill sets, and that doesn’t necessarily mean honest work. “Remember your purpose.”
How it all starts, they will each receive an invitation to the penthouse, and watch a video by their benefactor, Eugenia Carmichael, widow of Federal Judge Trevor Carmichael. Anson Daly, lost his mother, Ethan Warner, his twin brother, Caelan Jamison, his fiancé, Walker Smith, his best friend, and Xavier Malone, his sister. “These five men are powerful—skilled—driven.”
The story is an on-the-edge-of-your-seat page-turning tale that has a great cast of characters, and plenty of action, mystery, suspense, danger, and angst. The second story will mainly involve attorney Haven Wright, and former hustler, grafter, Ethan Warner. Only, nine years prior, Ethan went by Tad and was involved with Haven, and scamming her parents out of their life-savings. What will become of this new discovery, of righting the past, making redemption and maybe even steps towards a future?
“The words you’re looking for are scum-sucking criminal fraud. Say it with me.” –Ethan
“Every penny you took. They didn’t lose it, Ethan, you took it. And he’d taken even more than that—my trust, my faith, my innocence—things that could never be redeemed.” --Haven
The plot will have Haven representing Max Pedersen, charged with murdering his wife, Emma, and at the request of Sabrina Fowler, she will meet the Masters, the five men now working to right the wrongs, each for someone they lost, but for many other innocent people. With Haven the attorney for Max, and learning that his cell-mate, Luis Rivera, may have key evidence in helping them in their quest for solving the crimes, and aiding in justice of their own. The story will have Ethan needing to get into jail so he can speak to Luis and get more information, but it is risky and costly too. “Safety. Refuge. Sanctuary.”
Once again, the Masters are masters at their crafts and talents, and together, they will make a difference in the lives of several people. Nine years may have caused heartache for Haven, but forgiveness is sweet when it is honest. The sexual chemistry between Ethan and Haven sizzles and is hotter than years before. Now there is dominance and submission. The story has several various discipline scenes along with explicit sex.
“Some things are always going to be second nature. I’ve just—reassessed my priorities, let’s say. I don’t need to use my talents to make a score. Now I have the Masters, and more than that, I have you.”
Adult Crime Novel with elements of Adult XXX Romance

ARC Received from BS for a Voluntary and Honest Review. I also got the book📑 with KU. This is a very well written book📑 with a well thought out plot. I do wish the authors had headed each chapter with the name of the character talking. The book is written from dual points of view, with Haven and Ethan being the two characters. Recommend.
Romantic, EROTIC, edge-of-your-seat suspense mixed with a character-driven plot – HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!! In this second book of The Masters series, “HUSTLER”, the writing team of Maisy Archer and Jane Henry have another phenomenal hit on their hands! I am half in love with these men, and that is merely because I’ve only been given the privilege of delving into two of the five men who are known collectively as The Masters. And these characters are so rich and well developed, one could only hope they would walk right off the pages! While readers can get a vague idea of the plotline from the blurb, this reviewer wants to let readers know “You are in for a treat!” “HUSTLER” is the pinnacle of second chance stories Not only do readers get the titillating, erotic scenes de l’amour that Archer and Henry are known to write, they also are graced with a suspenseful tale full of mystery, intrigue, and danger! Add to those compelling attributes writing so smooth one will hardly realize that the “read to the end of the chapter” has turned into a sunrise serenade. Yet the word compelling doesn’t satisfactorily describe the reader immersion that takes place when this writing team is involved. It matters not if the romance is contemporary, paranormal or something darker; Henry and Archer have taken erotic romance out of its mold and brought it into a new and wonderful territory. So, if you would like a taste, then take this STRONG suggestion to purchase your copy of “HUSTLER”, today. It is well worth the price of admission into the world of The Masters. Although I was given an ARC copy of “HUSTLER” to prepare this honest, voluntary review, I plan to purchase a copy to support my favorite writing duo and place the novel in my FAVORITES collection on my Kindle! I highly recommend you do the same! Happy pages! 😉
Haven Wright is a defense lawyer working for Max Pederson who is charged with the death of his wife, Emma. Max asks Haven to go see a group of men who can help her with his case but little does she expect to see the man who betrayed her many years ago.
Ethan Warner made a lot of mistakes in his past but he is a changed man and working on discovering who killed his brother. When his past walks into the room, he vows to make it up to her and her family for taking away so much from them.
Will Haven trust Ethan and believe that he has changed? As the two and the rest of their group get more involved will they be able to find their way out of the mess they find themselves in?
This was a great follow up to Knave and the book is definitely getting more intriguing.
Haven was a great character who fell in love with a con man who took away her parents future but now he is back and is completely changed. Ethan has to prove to Haven how much he has changed and how he truly still really cares about her and wants a second chance.
The two definitely had loads of chemistry and their scenes together were hot!!! It took Haven a little bit to trust Ethan again which was completely understandable.
I was defintley nervous about the plan on where Ethan had to go but it was the best one they had although they didn't know who was good or bad. Ethan gained a lot of knowledge in there and I was happy that they were able to put it to good use.
The end was scary but I was very happy on how it all turned out but I am really curious to see where the book goes next and if they can get Max out of jail soon!
I'm loving this series. The guys are crooks who are doing good things. They are mostly reformed. Only mostly. They still do the things that they always have done, but now they do them to find out who killed their friends and loved ones, and they are bound and determined to bring them to justice. Not necessarily the law, but justice.
Ethan was a grifter. When he got the invitation to show up at a penthouse, along with several other men, he finds out that the prison riot his twin brother, the prison guard, was killed in wasn't an accident and he was murdered. He and the other guys are left a whole lot of money and they form Masters Security.
Haven knew Ethan many years ago, but as Tad, not Ethan. He and his partner scammed her parents out of their money, and she fell in love with him. It broke her heart when he just disappeared and she found out that he had taken her parents' money. Nine years later, she's working as a lawyer in Manhattan and is defending Max Pederson. He sent her to the Masters, where she was surprised to see Ethan.
I really liked this story. We have a second chances romance going on as well as a whole redemption storyline. I love how well the Masters have integrated into a unit. They all have their own role to play and personality, but they are a family and it works out really well.
I don't blame Haven for being angry at Ethan. I would've wanted to bloody strangle him as well. I mean, either one was bad, but for him to do both? Yeah, that's bullspit right there.
I'm looking forward to the next book and seeing how things are going to fit and work out for all our peepz.
Fantastic second-chance romance, and an amazing second book in the series!
This book is Ethan’s turn, as the investigation that brought the Masters together now has drawn in Haven, a defense attorney who is also the one girl that Ethan had to leave behind years ago, even as he left his heart with her. Haven has never gotten over Ethan’s betrayal, but being back in his orbit brings back all the feelings she’s been trying for years to forget.
Once we’re given all the details of Ethan’s history, his metamorphosis becomes not only understandable, but inevitable. His feelings for Haven are the most honest thing about him, and I really loved that he didn’t have to struggle much to admit where he’d gone wrong and what he needed to do to make it right. It’s like he knew all along that he was just waiting for a second chance with her, despite knowing that there was no real chance of it happening.
The investigation really heats up in this installment as the men put themselves at risk to find the truth – all the different layers of the truth. The developments of the many friendships – the men with each other as well as with the women who are joining them – are extremely well-written. This series is packaged as standalone romances with a unifying story arc, but the intricate emotional depth goes well beyond a typical romance. This is a world you want to dive right into and never come up for air. I’m absolutely hooked, and am anxiously awaiting the next book in the series. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I am absolutely loving this series by Jane Henry and Maisy Archer. They make such a great team and produce books that have you satisfied with what you have read, but always eager for so much more! Hustler is no exception and is the second of the Masters of Manhattan series which follows Ethan, a 'Master' at manipulation and hustling and Haven, a lawyer who had become an unexpected victim of Ethan's past ways and is struggling to put her past hurts aside as she fights for her client's freedom and safety.
These two have a past that needs healing and together they fight, with the support from the other Masters to right wrongs that have occurred, not only for themselves but for others having experienced injustice. I enjoyed seeing Ethan take responsibility and develop as more than just a hustler. Yes, he has times when he was overbearing and demanding but love drives him to keep Haven safe. When these two figure out how much each other means to one another, Ethan's dominating ways ramps up the heat on some steamy bedroom fun! I certainly think the no nonsense and endearing Haven is a perfect match for Ethan.
I am loving how this series is interconnected and you certainly don't have to have read the first to thoroughly enjoy this one but, I think you certainly get more if you read as a series so you can see how the Masters and their stories are developing. I am eager to see how the rest of the Masters find the answers they are looking for while bringing the Bianchi family to justice!
Customer Review 5.0 out of 5 starsReunited ByDonna Lon April 20, 2018 Format: Kindle Edition Could this series get any better,it's a big yes.The authors have again produced a gripping tale that sucked me in and kept my attention.I do recommend reading book one to familiarize yourself with the characters and their backgrounds. The Masters are using their combined skills to discover who is responsible for the death of loved ones. They all seem connected in someway,it's a game of cat and mouse.I loved the trust and understanding between the Masters,it is based on their own life experiences. They all have damaged pasts that they had locked away without dealing with them before becoming a family of sorts. They are predators sizing up their prey,it was intense, uncomfortable and downright dangerous at times. This is a classic good girl/bad boy story.Haven had her heart broken by Ethan nine years ago,Ethan is not proud of his past but is a changed man.Can he convince Haven to accept the Masters help to prove that her client is innocent, and make up for past wrongs.Ethan finds himself in danger while in prison seeking answers to his brothers death and to free a innocent man.The plot includes innumerable twist and turns with immoral, corrupt forces. The chemistry between Ethan and Haven is magnetic as they burn up the sheets. The ending has left me eagerly waiting for next book.
I love this series! I read Knave last week and absolutely fell in love with the Masters of Manhattan! Jane Henry and Daisy Archer have got it exactly right on the nose with the mix of action adventure and steamy romance. The dynamic and banter between the five heroes in the group and their varying personalities and back story is a fascinating mix that will really appeal to lovers of the genre. For fans of Jane and Maisy you won't be disappointed with the sensual dynamic we know and love from this great author team.
Ethan and Haven's story is as different from Anson and Sabrina's as their differing personalities. Whereas in Knave its all insta love and fiery passion, Ethan and Haven have a past that goes back ten years and there are wounds to heal between them. The story is exciting and action packed and uses all the techniques of high tech gadgets and undercover dangerous situations, but there is also a strong story of love and forgiveness to invade your heart.
I highly recommend this series. Can't wait for the other three stories. I think Walker is next. Hustler can be read as a stand alone and doesn't have to be read after Hustler, but I'm sure you'll enjoy reading both! Especially as they are both in KU. After Hustler, you'll definitely want to read Knave so why not just read it in order?
I have to say that I'm loving the Masters of Manhattan series! It's got the right mixture of suspense, angst, romance, action and a touch of dominance! This book is our look into the enigma that is Ethan. He appears on the outside as happy go lucky but inside he is a ball of regrets. His life was planned out from the time he was a child. His father was a grifter and that is the path that he continued to follow. Along the way there was a girl that made him regret his choices but he was too young and dumb to alter his path. Now here we are and she steps back into his life as the attorney for one of the men that has come under the watch of the Masters. Haven had her perfect world thrown out of wack when she was young by a handsome grifter and she has learned not to give her trust so easily anymore. She never expected to see him again or what his real name was. This is a classic enemies to lovers with a lot of side drama added. As with the first book Knave, the book will have a HFN ending but the complete end to the storyline will not be revealed. I highly recommend this series to all fans of romantic suspense. It's told from dual POV and it's a fun, sexy, gritty book! I received a review copy from Booksprout and this is my freely given, honest opinion.
Ethan Warner runs headlong into his nine year old past in the form of Haven Wright, one of his victims. He and his partner conned her parents out of their life savings, then he left without a word, knowing she'd fallen for him. Now she's forced to work with him and the rest of the Masters in order to follow the next set of clues and strands of information that have lead the Masters to finding out who is really behind their loved one's deaths. No matter how hard or sincerely he tries to apologize for his misdeeds, Haven is having none of it. After obtaining information from Max Pederson about a young man Luis, who was put in jail by the Bianchis, Ethan volunteers to go to jail so he can get close to this potential witness. The fact that he's willing to do this gives Haven pause to reconsider her feelings for him. It's definitely not sunshine and roses in prison for Ethan as he's beaten to almost an severly but does connect with Luis and obtains valuable information. The Masters are able to set another plan in motion that will protect Luis and get the information they needed to put Ethan's twin bother's killer away. Ethan recognizes that the Masters and Haven are truly his home and his family now. He loves Haven and she returns that love wholeheartedly. They get their HEA.
“Hustler” is book 2 in the Masters of Manhattan series by Jane Henry and Maisy Archer and if you haven’t read any of this duos books, I suggest you start with book 1 and then, quick like a bunny, grab a copy of “Hustler”. The overarching premise to the stories is a group of men with seeming no connection whatsoever are brought together to figure out who killed someone close to them. And from there…the hunt begins.
In “Hustler”, we finally learn who killed Ethan Warner’s twin brother, Eli, and we meet his love interest, Haven Wright. Their relationship is rocky from the start with some spectacular arguments as pride plays a key role in their interactions. At the same time, their chemistry is enticing and for every negative spark, there is an even brighter positive one.
I’m really enjoying this series. The camaraderie between the Masters is amazing whether it’s “frat house” fun or actual brotherhood and both Ms Henry and Ms Archer are doing an amazing job of bringing the love interests into the folds. And I would be remiss if I didn’t point out that the romance elements are downright sexy.
Hustler is the second book in the Masters of Manhattan series, and while it could be read as a stand-alone, I highly suggest reading the book one first to fully understand everything. Ethan is a master manipulator with a past that haunts his dreams and a vendetta against the people who murdered his brother. Luckily, he has a team, the Masters, who all have his back, but when a lady from his past walks into his apartment asking for help, he wants to right the all of the wrongs and claim Haven for his own. Or will the people they’re fighting against get to her first?
Oh my goodness, I loved this book! It was a second chance romance with a lot of steam, a dash of spank, and a whole heaping of suspense! Ethan was incredible. He was willing to sacrifice so much not only for justice, but also for Haven. Haven was determined and feisty, but also willing to forgive and loyal. I absolutely loved the direction that this book took for the overarching series, but I also loved the direction that Ethan and Haven traveled. I really enjoyed reading this book and I already can’t wait to see what the next book will bring!
In Hustler, we meet Haven, an attorney that is sent to the Masters for help in proving Max Pederson did not kill his wife. Haven has a history with Ethan Warner who she knew as Tad but Tad was a grifter and conman who stole her heart, then her parent's life savings. Ethan has a lot to answer to as he never forgot Haven and hopes he can get a second chance with her. This is a fast paced story with a lot of intrigue, danger, risks and hot, steamy sex for Ethan and Haven as the Masters cooperate to get the answers they all seek and get revenge for their loved ones killed by the Bianchi crime family. I loved seeing the Masters and the ladies that reside in the penthouse together. The teasing and interaction had me chuckling at some of their antics and how well they have learned to live together and support each one's special skills that help to bring more insight to the deaths of their loved ones. I am looking forward to the next Masters of Manhattan and to see what special lady comes to be brought into the family of "frat boys."
This is a series about a group of 5 men who seek vengeance and truth about someone who they have lost, each bringing a unique skill set to the table. Collectively they are known as the Masters. This is the second book and focuses on Ethan and Haven. Ethan used to be a con artist with no conscious and was very good at his trade. 9 years ago he took both Haven's virginity and all of her family's money. He now regrets his previous actions and wants to make amends for all of his wrongdoings.
Haven is working as a Lawyer for Max who has been wrongly convicted of killing his wife and Max asks him to go and speak with the Masters to ask for help. This is when Haven discovers that one of the Masters is Ethan.
This book has steamy well written scenes, drama, suspense, a great story line, strong loveable characters and is a really great read. This is a standalone book although I would recommend reading the series in order.
This is another amazing book by amazing authors and I can't wait for the next book to come out. 5 Stars
I read this book as part of an arc program. This is the second book in the Masters of Manhattan series. In this book, Ethan's story is told. Ethan was a conman who swindled many people out of their life savings in his prior life, including Haven. Haven was a young woman when she met Ethan, who was using the name Tad at the time. When he took her virginity and conned her parents out of their money, she became very jaded. Haven went on to be a lawyer and was now hired to defend Max Pederson of murder and Max sent her to the Masters for help. When Haven first sees Ethan, she thinks she now can make him pay. Ethan apologizes and tells her he will pay back the money and that he is a changed man. Ethan asks Haven to work with them and help Max. While they are working together, Haven realized she still has feelings for Ethan and Ethan decides she will be his again. I love this series so far. The connections between the Masters are becoming more apparent and the case is building for justice. There is a lot of danger and twists in this story. I can't wait for the next book. Good series!
I could not put this book down! There is no rest for the weary. The suspense keeps you reading looking for answers. The steamy sex scenes make you desire more. The relationship between all the character is so intricate that you cannot miss a word.
Each character received an invite to a place with no explanation. As they all begin to show up, more and more of the back story is revealed. As more details are described, the connections between all the characters are revealed. Those connections run deeper than even they knew. The unexpected romance, enemies who become teammates and surprising twists keeps the reader not only interested in the story but also searching for answers along with the characters.
Jane Henry and Maisy Archer are the perfect writing team. The combination of their writing styles created a story that keeps the reader on their toes, begging for more. Hustler is a must read. I highly recommend this one.
Jane Henry and Maisy Archer have a magical way of bringing characters to life. Ethan and Haven are very believable and likable. Haven and Ethan both have old pain from how they parted 9 years earlier and the authors did a wonderful job within the plot of healing that pain and giving them a second chance to a very sexy HEA. The underlying plot continues from the first book as some of the Masters discover how and why their loved ones and friend were murdered. The storyline was strong and very compelling and has enough foundation to be read as a stand alone though I strongly recommend Knave, the first book in the Masters of Manhattan series. I look forward to the future books to learn who each of the masters find love with and discovering the reasons for the other murders. I received an advance reader copy from Booksprout.
This was my first time reading a book by these authors, and I loved it. I unfortunately missed the first book Knave (this will be rectified!) so missed some of the story but it was easy enough to catch up. The main male MC, Ethan, was a bit of an ass but it was nice to see how he redeemed himself throughout the duration of the story. I'm not going to post any spoilers as I hate spoilers in reviews, but there was a scene in the middle of the book that I thought summed up his determination to be the man he needs to be for Haven. The main female MC, Haven, was a sweet personality with a strong edge. The chemistry between Haven and Ethan was swift and consuming, which I liked. I highly recommend this book for anyone. Sex scenes weren't overly graphic but well fleshed-out, the plot took some quick turns. I'm looking forward to the next in the series <3
I love that these books are as much stories with real plots that you have to pay attention to or you will have trouble following along and interesting, true to life characters. These books are as much about that as they are about the sexiness (which is awesome and I love too). We got a look at Ethan in the last book and Anson’s view of him. And in this book we got a much more in depth understanding of him and what motivates him. We also got to meet his Achilles heel, or perhaps better put, his savior, Haven (gotta love that name, as she is his haven). So no real spoilers. You know there is a HEA, after all. But what amazing story, with great characters. I love that we keep getting more each book. I can hardly wait for X’s story. Although I know I am going to love everything the incredible Henry/Archer duo gives us. ❤️
Gahhhh I’m in love with this series!!! The way the story is unfolding in each book just makes you want to have the next book in your hands as soon as your finished with one! Ethan is the “con” in the Masters. He can talk you into giving him your first born child and you wouldn’t even know it. He’s good at what he does and very valuable to the operation the masters have going. Haven is an attorney sent to the masters to help her client out of prison for a murder he didn’t do. When she shows up and starts talking to the others in walks Ethan. A blast from the past that she is not happy to see. I mean he did steal all of her parents life savings and retirement not to mention her heart. This is a great story about love and forgiveness. I’m loving every one of these books and can’t wait for the next.
I really, really love this series!! I highly recommend you read book one just to fully enjoy the details of who is who but it can be read alone! Ethan is a con man, grafter and his past is full of regret, one of the main ones being Haven. He doesn't blame her for how she feels now but has no intention of letting her get away this time!! Haven was just doing her job, helping her client when her biggest mistake and deepest regret re-entered her life!! Can two people who have zero trust between them but still feel that connection find a way to make it work? Can Haven see Ethan is not the man he was, the past changed him too. The storyline is building, evolving and keeping me on my toes! I love that I don't have a clue what might be next, no fun if I already have it figured out!! I hope there are plenty of these to come, love how this is building!!
This is book 2 of this series and it is an amazing read! Ethan and Haven's story will keep on the edge of your seat. Ethan is a master manipulator and a con artist, and has a vendetta against the people who murdered his brother. Him and all the other Masters are all there for one purpose, to the right the wrongs in their lives. They all lost somebody they cared deeply for and are seeking some kind of revenge on them. This will make them powerful and ruthless. Haven is a lawyer that you will have encountered in the first book. She had her heart broken and her parents had all their savings stolen by Ethan. They both have trust issues and resentment. Can they overcome all this ??? This is great story and I can't wait to see what the Masters have in store for us in the next book. I voluntarily reviewed an arc.
Wow these ladies are pulling no punches in these delicious books, they have action, drama and so much passion that its really hot. Book two in this fantastic series sees Ethan getting his turn at love once more. Her name is Haven, she is now a defence Attorney and one look at Ethan and she sees red. For she knew Ethan 9 years previous, when he used her to steal money from her parents, and now he swears that he has changed for the good, and he is part of Masters Security. But she must trust him given the fact that she has come to this Security team for help of her Client Max Peterson.
I really loved reading this book, is worth while reading, these men really know how and what there ladies need.
This book, the second in a series, is thoroughly enjoyable with good characters & great dialogue. I've read a few stories by these authors now and they all have that common thread. While not completely standalone, I believe that you would be able to enjoy this without reading book 1 but the over-reaching story is a continuation that flows into the next book, so don't think it's going to be wrapped up nicely at the end. My only issue with this book is the completely unrealistic way that it bends the situations to fit the story. Without giving plot spoilers there are things that happen that are so outside the realm of reality as to be ridiculous. So, for the sake of a good read, embrace the flaws and enjoy a good read.
A second chance story amidst the fight against villains
Do to others as you would have them do to you, or so they say. A life lesson Ethan hadn't learned in due time. Many years ago, he had conned Haven. To him, she was just another one of his victims; to her, he was her entire world. Nine years later, fate unites them again. This time, they are allies in the battle against the mobsters who are guilty of Ethan’s brother’s death and Haven’s client’s framing for the murder of his wife. Passion reignites, past mistakes are atoned for, trust is regained, and love unites them.
Not surprisingly, when the two lady authors pair up, the readers are gifted with a beautiful story of romance and suspense which will keep the hooked up to the very last page of the book.
I Love this series and the Masters are to die for. This one is Ethans story and when Haven walks back into his life after a lifetime( by the way I love her name ) of wrong doing they both have their work cut out for them but the sparks are still there and their will be forgiveness and life changing decisions to be made. I loved these characters their passion for each other and determination to make it work was intence at times but these two deserved it all and more with no shame to express their feelings. The Authors bring these broken men to life now lifetime brothers through their words to repair the injustice that happened in their life and I cant wait for the next one.
