Luke and Adam Kraven are a vicious combination of psychopath's. They have a strict routine that they both must follow to avoid detection. However, Luke becomes obsessed with a local tattoo artist who doesn't meet his usual victim criteria. He doesn't want to kill her, he wants to keep her very much alive. Meanwhile, The Black Widow killer is still on the loose and the Kraven brothers might just find themselves tangled in her web if they aren't careful.
This book is superb. I finished it in around 2 hours because I couldn't put it down. The writing style of Crossan's is gorgeous and easy to follow and to be hypnotized by. I didn't realize the pages were flying by as quickly as they were and as I saw the end approach, I could already feel my heart beginning to break and having to leave such a beautifully twisted world.
It pains me to write this review without any spoilers. I just want to gush about the characters and the different twists and surprises. But I won't be a prick or disrespect the writer like that.
I will say that having read all 3 of Crossan's books now, she continues to grow and become a better writer. I loved her first book to death, her second one as well, her now 3rd published novel had me digging myself up from the grave and dying again. It's a beautiful sort of death, completely worth it, and I'm sure I'll die all over again once she publishes another book.
This is a must read if you enjoy the twisted and strange. It's beautiful. It's romantic. It's wicked. It's gonna be your biggest loss if you pass it by.
And if The Black Widow happens to be around, it may be the last bad decision you ever make, so stay alive. Get this book!
