Shelby and Cole are on their way back from their previous adventure in Book 2, Fool's Gold. Shelby assumes that their train is taking them to Skagway but Ken and Kinsey, hikers on the trail with them, inform them that the train is going to Carcross! What is Dad up to? Is that really Grumpa at the train station and is Dad really staying on the train?
What's all this about a scavenger hunt? The grand prize is a three day sled dog race for two. The instructions include playing fair but what about some of the other members? Do they play fair? How are the kids going to get a photo with the Duchess as well as a polar bear. Dirty tricks? A lake trip in the dark? Good story with a great lesson on helping others. Kids will enjoy it.
