Alex and Jim’s marriage starts out as an arrangement of convenience, as per his grandmother. But, Alex is outspoken enough to surprise Jim at every turn, and they come to truly know each other.
A simple story, in an interesting era in America, not quite Victorian, not modern, kind of in between.
