The thing I like about cozy mysteries is that they're not gruesome and stomach turning. What I don't like is when the author dummies down the writing, making me think I don't belong in her target audience. This was a "telling." There was nothing to figure out. The protagonist didn't do anything but be nosy. I do appreciate some of the characters, but we need a little more depth. We also need more Edward, or no Edward at all. Why do it halfway? I've already bought the next two when I enjoyed the first one, so I'll continue with the series. Hopefully, this one was an anomaly.

Honestly, I love all of London Lovetts books. I am so impressed with how engaging her characters are in all her series.
This series (Firefly Junction) brings a different element to the small town feel that cozies offer in a very fun, charming witty way.
I would definitely recommend any of London Lovetts books to anyone looking for a cozy with characters that feel like they are jumping off the pages inviting you for a quick adventure with them.

Another fast paced fun mystery. Edward the ghost is making his opinions known, especially about Jackson 😂😂😂 a bridal party becomes a murder party, when a bridesmaid is murdered.
Why was she murdered? Was she blackmailing someone?
What’s up with the groom?
And is there pregnancy in the bridal party air? More importantly, who is the daddy?
Sunni must sort it all out and write the story of the week.

I like Sunni and her friends. I like Detective Brady Jackson. I like Edward the ghost. I like the relationships that are building between these characters and the mysteries that bring them together. What’s nice is that the stories are short so that there is constant action and not really so much time for the story to slow down or get stale. They’re quick, fun mysteries that keep my interest throughout.

Only the bride thought that glamping would be a good bonding experience for the female members of her wedding party. And the others were correct, proven when the maid of honour was found dead, at the bottom of a steep ravine. Sunni Taylor, on-site to assist her older sister in hosting the event, quickly switched to her reporter's hat as the scent of a good story floated her way.

This second book builds on the fantastic start of the introductory book in the Firefly Junction series. The characters, who were already well-fleshed out, become even more likeable and lifelike. I didn't have to tease my brain to reason out the murderer and motive, but the read was still immensely enjoyable.

"Killer Bridal Party" is another good read in the Firefly Junction mystery series. This time, Sunni's sister is catering a "glamping" bridal party. You read it correctly, the bride is hosting a party in the forest with campers rather than tents. Sunni is helping her sister out with the catering and set up. Unfortunately, the two bridesmaids do not like each other; so, when one of them is found dead on a trail Detective "Hottie" Jackson is called onto the scene.

Making matters worse is that Sunni's best friend predicted that the wedding party would have disastrous results and murder is certainly a disaster. Sunni's editor has her assigned to a story about a detail in the repair of a local bridge while the top reporter ( his future son-in-law) is out doing god knows what. However, that does not stop Sunni from investigating this murder on her own even though the ghost of the inn does not approve of her running around late at night by herself or spending time with the detective. My, my, a love triangle seems to be brewing between an earthly man, a ghost and Sunni. Well, I know who I would choose!

This was a really fun read. All of the characters were so diverse and full of vinegar (lol). I am getting a kick out of the ghost, Edward but I would like to know a little bit more about Detective Jackson. Hopefully, upcoming installments will deliver on my request. This is a series that will definitely keep me coming back for more.

slightly better than the first book but still not good. extremely repetitive and basically the same story as in the first book. the "investigative journalism" is still just breaking the law and impeding on murder investigations and getting away with it with no issues which is annoying and redundant. less unnecessary filler in this book which is appreciated but that's really the only positive.

Sunni Taylor, wears many hats. She is a part time newspaper reporter, as well as getting an old house in shape to reopen as an Inn, but her favorite thing to do is acting as an amateur sleuth, which really gets the town Murder investigator Detective Brady Jackson, (unofficial God's gift to women) wondering where she will show up next-usually putting herself in a situation that is dangerous.

Det. Jackson's nickname for Sunni is 'bluebird' which she earned in the first Firefly Cozy mystery, Death in the Park, when he caught her spying up in a grove of trees, with a bright blue shirt on! Sunni did not think anyone could see her, until he told her to get down!

Sunni also helps her sister Lana with her job as a party planner, and this time around it is a Bridal Shower Camping Party! She also goes to her other sister Emily's house to help feed two new baby goats!

On top of all this there is a ghost, Edward, in her Cider Ridge Inn house, and she can actually see him! The first to see him were her two dogs, which he gladly threw the ball to play fetch with them. Then he hid a hammer from the construction workers, a brother and sister team, Ursula and Henry that he can't stand. His exact words to describe them are "An insufferable pair of halfwits".

Edward is 200 years old, was quite the vision in his time! Of course he is living that time right now and gets quite upset when he sees Sunni going out and coming back after dark! In his words she should be accompanied by a chaperone-oh and did I mention he hates the detective. One thing is for sure, Sunni gets it from all sides! However she is cool and takes everything with a grain of salt, while she has her secret sleuth hat on!

I love this series because all of the characters are well described and interact with each other so well, with the exception of Edward who is grouchy most of the time. Anyway, when the Bridal camp out ends in the death of the bride of honor, everything is complete chaos!

This book has it all; a good mystery, great characters, plenty of secrets, a lot of angst, a handsome ghost, and many many questions that will be answered while you read this wonderful cozy mystery!

I gave this book 5 stars and can't wait for the next Firefly Junction mystery!

Okay. So. Sunni's second foray into amateur sleuthing has arrived and this time she's trying to tie together the clues revolving around the maid of honor's death during a bridal shower. Given that this event was being put on through her sister's event planning business, Sunni has a little personal motivation to get things figured out. Not that her sister was a suspect, but more because she doesn't want Lana's business to take a nose dive because of an unexplained death.

The good news? Sunni gets to cozy up to Jax, he of the chiseled jawline and smokin' hot good looks. The bad news? Well, there's a dead body. That's always bad news, right? Even when the deceased is kind of a jerk and all.

Anywho. Besides sleuthing and giving the hunky detective long looks, Sunni is also still dealing with the renovations on the inn and one persnickety ghost. In other words, she has her hands full. She doesn't let that slow her down, however, and she dives in with all the gusto she's known for. *thumbs up*

The narrator was a little better on this second book in the series. The ghost, Edward, appeared to Sunni and now she's comfortable having conversations with him, almost like a houseguest. Her journalist job and her sister's party venue collide in Sunni's world when one of the bridal party members is murdered. Once again Sunni is off to solve the crime and write a great article about it and once again runs into the handsome detective. This is another light, quick mystery with a paranormal aspect, enjoyable.

I enjoyed the first book in this series so much that I decided to pick up the audio for book #2 (I love that it's only about six hours--perfect for relaxing on a Saturday).

As with the first book, I really enjoyed the characters and their relationships, and I enjoyed getting to know Edward. Some of the mystery felt a little obvious, but I did appreciate the twist at the end.

If you prefer a more character-centric mystery (lots of emphasis on the people and relationships), I think you'll like this series. Witty. Not to traumatic. A fun read.

Rated PG.

This book is well written with a good cast of characters and a decent plot line. It's engaging and entertaining and a cut above the norm for this type of fiction. In this novel Sunni ,the reporter heroine, deals with the murder of the chief bridesmaid of one of her party planning sisters clients. There's some fun sparring with the gorgeous police detective assigned to the case and enough mystery to keep the reader guessing. If recommend these books .

Killer Bridal Party, Book 2 in the Firefly Junction Cozy Mystery Series, was delightful. A bridal party goes camping in the woods. Someone bashes the maid of honor’s head in. Twists and turns shift the suspicion from bridal party member to member. Crack investigative journalist Sunni Taylor is on the job, discreetly. Add a handsome police detective, a very good looking ghost, and a psychic friend and you have a real page turner. Love the series. I am off to start Book 3.

This story unfolds like a daytime soap opera - thanks to our protagonist for noting this. This is just everyday life in small mountain community near the Great Smoky Mountains -until it isn't. Murder has a way of disrupting life. Put our reporter sleuth finds that you can just use your daily connections to solve crimes. The clues are all there if you just run into the right people and ask the right questions.

Another enjoyable cozy read.

Another enjoyable entry although I didn’t find the central mystery here nearly as compelling. And it all resolved a little too easily. Could have used a bit less of the ghost. He doesn’t really add anything of value to the story. And it took me out of the story every time he showed up. I do like the burgeoning romance between Sunni and Jackson. They have an undeniable chemistry and I can tell that it will only be a matter of time until they get together. I’m cool with it.

It's impossible to give Firefly

Junction Cozy books less than five stars. I love them!! I've enjoyed each one I've read so much. My problem is they aren't in Kindle Unlimited. I'll pay $1.99 but no higher. I read two to three books a day. I can't afford any higher. I'm totally addicted. These books are so much fun to read!! I can usually guess who the killer is, but it's fun trying to figure it out. I highly recommend these books.

I love this series. It's fast paced with likable characters. Both human, animal, and ghostly. Life continues with Sunni in a small town at the edge of the Smokie Mountain National Park. There is a better introduction to the resident ghost. A murder at a glamping bridal shower. That keeps the curious reporter and adonis detective crossing paths. A very enjoyable cozy mystery. Now I am ready for the next book to this series.

This was an enjoyable read. I loved the setting of a bridal shower in the woods, it was a good setup for a murder.

I love the dynamics between the sisters and Raine as well as the airy farm environment, there’s something very relaxing about it. However, I’m wanting more from the paranormal side of the story.

I’ve now read 2 books in this series as well as the Starfire and Port Dandy series. I prefer the two others over this one but I’m still intrigued enough to purchase book 3!

Second book in the series. Quick read, engaging characters, interesting mystery, slight touch of paranormal. The attraction between Sunni and the detective is slowly building, and Edward, the resident ghost, appears (LOL) more often in this book. Could be read as a stand-alone, but more enjoyable to be read in order. Recommend.

London Lovett did it again. I tried the first book in the series on a lark and I'm so glad I did. It's a truly cozy mystery and the elements of paranormal is sprinkled in perfectly. Sunni's character is unique and I love how the author is gently introducing a possible romance with Detective Brady. I am hooked on this series and can't wait to read the next in the series.

Entertaining Quick Read

I
Liked how the main character catches herself thinking too descriptivly, when unnecessary descriptive passages were one of the distractors in the first book. Less of that this time. But overall I feel like the mystery part is not delving deep enough. I'll probably read the third one then decide if I will keep going.

As always wonderful

London Lovett's characters are like old friends. This is the second series I am reading. I don't want the books to end be wise I don't want to leave. So there are great characters and while I figured out part of the answer, I didn't get it all and that's what makes this a great read

The second book in the series is continued, as Sunni Taylor along with Detective Jackson work on solving the case together and bring them closer to each other. Amusing read, had me giggling.
Then, there's Edward the ghost of the 18th century... Something tells me he's waiting to meet his great grand kids in the 21st century.

Sunni Taylor is a woman of many talents. Juggling her role as a part-time newspaper reporter, she is also dedicated to restoring the Cider Ridge Inn to its original splendor, with the aim of opening a bed and breakfast. A permanent resident of the inn is the ghost, Edward Beckett. However, her true calling lies in amateur sleuthing, a hobby that often puts her in dangerous situations and keeps Detective Brady Jackson, the town's murder investigator, constantly guessing her next move.

I enjoyed this book as a light, cozy mystery that flirts with the paranormal & romance. The setting beckons you & the sisters are fun but the sassy sleuth lacks something...maybe depth? Feels like there’s only time to skim the surface but the story is good.

London Lovett is such a great writer and this second book of the Firefly Juction did not disappoint! I actually can say that I enjoyed this book more so than the first. I loved that we were able to get a better idea of the relationships between Sunni and her sisters as well as with her best friend. However, I hope we will get to know more of Detective Jackson.
I thought the muder in this novel was well written and I truly had no idea who the suspect would be...or shall I say, the suspect ended up being someone completely different from who I thought it would be. Cannot wait to start book 3!

This is not a very deep mystery and it's pretty darn corny, but it kept me entertained through a boring flight, so that's something.

The best part of this mystery is the relationship between the sisters and the food. There's a lot of food porn. The paranormal part is the weakest part.
