Doubt is an intriguing story of Anna, a girl running from Texas to New Orleans, LA. She is running for her life from an abusive cheating boyfriend Tad, whom she catches in bed with her supposed best friend Susan. When she calls him on it he explodes with vile anger and dangerous violence. It takes a gun in his face to get him away from her. Then she flees for her life in fear that he will come back to finish the job.
Anna's new life in New Orleans includes life with her brother, Jeff, trying to regain the family connection but senses some underlying resentment for having to care for her yet again. It also includes Jeff's hot neighbor Ethan with whom she is very attracted but deems off-limits because of his friendship and working relationship with Jeff. She finds a new but odd friend in a flamboyant Franny and her new boss Maybelline who runs the Old World Witchery complete with VooDoo dolls and ouija boards!
Mysteries surround Anna's life that she hopes Dr. Rice can help to uncover. Dangers also surround her and she suspects that she is being stalked by her ex. Ethan will help her uncover some shocking truths that turn her world upside down. With his help and the help of her friend Franny, she will face the mystery of her childhood and realize where her danger truly lies.

Surprise ending
Annie can't seem to get her life together, but she thinks she is off to a good start by leaving her abusive boyfriend, Tad. Annie moved in with her brother, Jeff who lives in New Orleans, to try to get herself on the right path.
Annie is a great character who struggles with life. The author gives Annie many things to overcome and very few people to trust. There was a great twist at the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

DOUBT, bold and dazzling layered, deeply emotional and all-consuming, the story curves full circle as Anna realizes that trust comes at a price . . .
Anna flees for her life, running from her abusive boyfriend, Tad. She leaves him bruised and busted and heads to New Orleans where her doctor, Brother, Jeff, lives. The brother seems to have his life in perfect order and expects Anna to straighten her life up. She's had a troubled past and seems to never get a break. When Anna meets the hottie doctor, Ethan, next door, a romance begins to develop but not without some outside interference. Jeff, the big brother, is opposed. And it doesn't help when Anna finds out that her therapist may be in a relationship with Ethan.
Anna suffers from childhood amnesia and doesn't remember anything before ten years old. Soon her world is turned upside down when she keeps thinking that nothing is what it seems. Paranoia sets in and her world becomes a big ball of confusion.

I loved Anna. She was funny at times and awkward socially and Ethan LeBlanc stole my heart. There's some really great funny moments in the book. I love Franny, the drag queen. A really great story, great characters, lots of laughs and some very intense moments too! The ending was a happy one and this book is a standalone.
Readers will love every minute, every page. As one now expects from the incredibly talented Jane West, gasp-inducing surprises await.

Worst Book I Have Ever Read
Do not waste your time on this. Besides the terrible writing and tired story, the awful grammar made it almost impossible to get through. In fact, I had to look up several words because I had never seen them before, and I found that the words were made up! They don't exist in any dictionary. This was truly the worst book I have read in my entire life. Don't waste your time like I did.

This book is amazing. I am going to devour this author's books whole. Uniquely brilliant and extremely talented. The characters in this book are so flawless and steamy I just kept wanting more and more. The story line is uniquely dark and twisted but I loved it. I can't wait for more from this author. This book will melt your hands, heart, kindle, or whatever you read it on. Get it now.
