Aria Daniels is sweet, beautiful, and a little innocent. She's also my best friend's girl.
At least she was. Until tragedy took him from us all.

It's been two years and she's ready for a second chance at love. As one of her closest friends, I can't let her date just anyone. Have you tried online dating? It’s harsh. Someone needs to make sure she doesn’t end up in the back of some serial killer’s white van.

I'm happy to do it. After all, a promise is a promise.

But getting Aria ready to find love again is proving more complicated than I expected. Especially when my heart keeps trying to step in.

That can’t happen. She was his. She can never be mine.

And that promise I made… it never included falling in love.

"I know we’ve already crossed a million lines and we’ll never be able to go back even if we want to, but this line, this one takes my heart with it, Aria. Are you ready for that?”

A story of love and forgiveness.. 4.25 stars!

You guys know that I tend to steer clear of the widow trope as that's usually not something I enjoy, but when Shae asked me to read this story for her, I accepted without hesitation because I trust her writing. Even though this novel wasn't as dark as I was expecting, it was still an emotionally provoking and powerful story. The characters were well-developed and so realistic, and I was never bored by where the story took me.

The kinship between the main group of characters was so beautiful to see, even though love is not always easy between those you call family. I could feel myself cringing and reading through my fingers during the last 20% of the novel because I knew there was a bomb waiting to implode, but the way Shae resolved the conflict was so perfect and had me firmly planted on Team Dash! I cannot wait for Silas, Drew and Carter to get their stories as I have a few thoughts about who they will end up with.. ♡

THE REVIEW FOR THE BOOK: DASH

GENRE: CONTEMPORARY ROMANCE.
AUTHOR:SHAE SCOTT.
TYPE:STANDALONE.
POV: DUAL PROSPECTIVE.
MY RATING: 5 emotionally gutted stars.

Its been two years since Aria lost the love of her life to the doomed C-Word. But now she is in the position she never imagined to be. She made a promise to Will, the boy she had been love in with since they were 15, on his death bed that she will continue to live, to love. It was the hardest promise a girl can be asked for but she complied anyway. And now it's time to cease the mourning and go out into the dating world.
Will also made Dash promise him that he will take care of Aria when he is long gone. He became her shoulder to cry on, her support even her solace in hard times. But what they never expected was for him to start having feelings for her.

There started the push-pull relationship between them...the hesitation, the rejections...and the love that healed every one.

This was a beautifully written emotional read...The first few pages left me sobbing for Will and Aria and the future they never had. Will really did love her...and I could feel his desperation for her to be happy even if he could not be the one to make her so.
It was like Will could see the potential of a love that Dash and Aria could have...Unintentionally he gave them his blessing but it took them some time to get that, to accept each other.

I always have a soft spot for the widow/widower trope...the heartbreaking way they lose their love...the healing, moving on, finding love.again.. it's just so amazing...like life goes on, with you..without you.
And this delivers this trope beautifully...the angst was absolutely gut-wrenching And the feelings were pouring out of the pages...Overwhelming read for sure.
I am happy this is just the starting of an amazing interconnected world of Berkshire boys and I can't wait to read more of these men finding their true love.

I want to start off by saying I’ve never read this author before and I’ve never even heard of her until I won an ARC during a giveaway. I didn’t read the blurb before I started it, so I just dove in head first.

I am absolutely head over heels in love with this book. Aria and Dash completely stole my heart. My heart has been in my throat on an emotional rollercoaster from the first chapter. It was heartbreaking and gut wrenching but heeling and so so beautiful! It was written so well.

I’m absolutely amazed that I’ve never heard of this author before. I mean I don’t even know if this is her first book or her 30th. But I’m beyond impressed and I’m definitely reading more from her in the future. If she has other books I feel like I need to go binge read them all! And I’m so ecstatic to read the rest of this series when they come out. Getting to know all the characters involved, I’m completely invested in this group of friends.

Berkshire Boys I cannot wait to read more of this series.
This is my first Shae Scott book and I loved it. The beginning of the story had me worried about what kind of romance it really was. Aria goes through a tremendous heartbreak right away but she's not alone Dash, Carter, Silas, and Drew are their to catch her as she loses her first love and their best friend.

This felt so heavy for me but I need to keep going and I am so so glad I did. For two years Aria is just one of the boys while she tries to find her new normal without Will. She has decided though that she's finally ready to open herself back up to the possibility of finding someone new. The guys are a little shocked and a little over protective.

Dash who seems to be closest to Aria offers to give her some dating tips and a little coaching. It is fun and hilarious and it starts to move in an unexpected direction. But it's sweet and it's new, yet it's comfortable, and then its awkward there are so many emotions.

There story is about hope, knowing when to let go, living for now, and the friendships are amazing. The groundwork laid for these characters really makes you feel a part of their world, and I truly can't wait for more happy, steamy, ever afters with the rest of the Berkshire Boys.

I was given an ARC copy of this book for an honest review.

I loved this one! This one was a great read. This one was recommended by a friend and I didn't bother reading the blurb. I went to start reading this one while on break at work and just a page or two in I knew it was going to be emotional so I put it down until I got home and sure enough I had watery eyes pretty early in the beginning. Aria is a great character. She has been through a lot. She saw her dream and future slip away and now she's ready to get back out there and date. She has Dash, Carter, Drew, and Silas (The Berkshire Boys) who have her back but are a little overprotective. I loved the group text messages. I liked Dash. He lost his best friend. He's sweet and nice. He helps Aria with dating help. They end up spending a lot of time together. They have a good connection and mesh well together. I loved this one from beginning to end.

Dash is the first book in the Berkshire Boys Series. Book one is the story of Dash and Aria. This is a friends to lovers romance and one that has been fun to write.

Aria has had a rough go. She lost her fiancé at 22 and now she's trying her best to find her way back to life. Lucky for her she's got Dash, her fiancé's best friend to help her along the way...I mean, what can go wrong there, right?

Aria met Will Henry when they were 15 and they became best friends and inseparable when he asked her to dance at Homecoming. Her happiest blissful moment was when he asked her to marry him. And 3 months later, they were told of their future: Stage IV, surgery, chemo. And when it was time to stop resisting, he told her, “I wasn’t meant to be your forever; you were only meant to be mine.” When you get to that sentence, the full meaning will crash down on you and you’ll know how deep their love goes. He asks for his family and his best friends to come in so he can say goodbye: Dash. Carter. Drew. Silas.

On the day of the funeral, Aria is still empty and hurting. Strong arms wrap around her as she had started to tremble, and she cried into Dash’s chest. More arms came around her as the other guys held her too. And at last, she felt comfort. Part of Will lives in each of these strong men that surround her. Through them and their loyalty, he will live on. They took her into their group and got her through the days when she may not have made it without them. And after two years passed, she announced at their bi-weekly dinner that she was going to date again. Not that she had anyone in mind, she just didn’t want to blindside them when it happened.

Dash who always seems to be quietly there for Aria to give her his strength, offers to help her find the right date. Their interaction is humorous and it unexpectedly starts to move them to something else. It feels right as it gently affects them and slowly grows. Contrasted to how she feels nothing with her other date attempts, it becomes obvious that there is something deep happening between her and Dash. Could a relationship with Dash upset the rest of their “family”? Or is the love among them all accepting of where this leads them?

This is probably one of the most powerful stories I have ever read. I knew it would be from the start when the reader is taken through the amazing man that Will was and the effect he had on everyone in his circle. Every emotion inside of me was activated and strong through this entire experience. But it’s worth reading and feeling something so beautiful. I am grateful to have opened my heart to become part of this. Well done and amazing story.

This story is about a girl that loses the love of her life, but his 3 friends welcome her into their group and they help each other to move on. After two years we see her trying to get into the dating world with the help of one of the guy friends. Attraction is felt but the guilt might be too much to keep it going. Can they begin their new love or will the past make it impossible?

Oh my gosh! From the get-go it hit my heart and I balled my eyes out. The author makes you feel like you are right there, apart of that group. So emotional but in a good way. I loved the way Dash took care of her and hearing his feelings for her as they developed in a new way. My only complaint was being reminded constantly that Dash was a man-ho. I could’ve done with all that but at the same time I guess it was necessary because it helped to make it the reason some were leery of the relationship. I wouldn’t have minded the actual sex scene happening sooner but honestly this was a great story. It made you feel so many emotions. What a great book. Obviously I highly recommend it.

Dash is swoony & funny & romantic & steamy & a well rounded emotional romance that is a great start to this new series!!

The story starts out with heartbreak - grab tissues. I probably shouldn't have started the story on Halloween, because it's the anniversary of my dad's death, and reading the prologue of this story ... I wasn't really emotionally ready. It made it difficult for me to get into the tone of the first half of the story, with Aria & Dash. That's not the story's fault, tho! It's well written & well paced. Just, my advice, don't start it on an already emotional day! : )

Okay! SO! Dash & Aria start out as friends - he's trying to help her jump back into the dating pool, but not get splashed by the DBs! LOL As they spend time together, having Bachelor nights & searching dating sites for the right guy for her, things start to shift. And then there's the tequila, doing what tequila does best... *grin*

There are lots of text conversations that give LOL moments. There's the family connection w/ the guys - Carter, Drew & Silas. I love these guys & the way they continue to look after Aria after their loss. I didn't so much love Silas for a little bit there, but he totally redeemed himself!

I should stop now, as this review is getting long & is basically just gushing over the swoon. I highly recommend this story for the emotion, the banter, the humor, the romance, and because Dash the playboy becomes Dash the swoony boyfriend & I loved that transformation!

: )

This is book one in the Berkshire Boys series. I really liked this book. It is well written, entertaining, and steamy. My emotions got a good work out with this book. This author is new to me but after finishing this book I will be adding more to my reading list. I can't wait to get my hands on the other guys stories.

Two years after Wills death Anais finally ready to move on and start dating only Aria has zero experience dating. When Dash finds her on a dating that is primarily used for hookups, he decides she needs help so he volunteers to teach her how to spot the losers online. Can Dash help her find someone? If I could give 'Dash' more than 5* I would. Using the word 'Contemporary Romance' sounds so underwhelming in what is truly a beautiful piece of writing. I stayed up until the early hours of the morning to finish Dash and Aria's story - to have not read this monumental love story to the end was inconceivable! Be prepared you will need tissues!

The 'Berkshire Boys' are going to be one hell of a series and one readers will not want to miss!

The Berkshire Boys have been best friends since they were 8 years old. 5 boy's who did everything together and when Will find's his love at 15 with Aria the 5 become 6! But when at 21 they loose Will and the 6 become 5 the bond between, Dash, Carter, Drew Silas and Aria is even stronger.

'It's like sending Bambi out into the forest on the first day of hunting season. It's not a good idea'

2 years on and Aria tentatively is thinking of dating. But she had been with the same person since she was 15 she never really dated dated. The boys aren't happy about it as only protective brothers would be. Dash offers to help Aria to ensure she can weed out what is good and what is bad. As Dash become's Aria's coach things start to subtlety shift between the two. The couple of dates that Aria does go on leave her feeling numb there is no butterflies in her tummy as there is when she and Dash are together whether that is watching TV together or going on long midnight rides. A kiss changes everything but how will the other Berkshire Boy's feel when they find out what is going on right under their noses. Will they be supportive or will the guilt be too much.

'Dash' has real depth and feelings there is no way you will not be drawn into this book of new beginnings after a devasting loss. Will's letters are just beautiful and a great addition to the story.
"I've given my heart to this man in front of me. He took all the sharp, jagged pieces, and he put them back together and then asked to keep it safe for me".

I received an ARC from the author thru Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving my review. This was such an emotional love story. Will and Aria both lost someone very important to them. It has been a couple of years and it is time they start living again. They have a connection, a shared history and secretly love each other, but they have to sort thru all the emotions to find a future together. Their story was so well written and finds a way for them to love without guilt.

After Aria lost her fiance Will she has his friends including his best Dash to help her through. It took her two years to finally admit she is ready to move on and Dash agrees to help her jump back into the dating world. Dash has always been crazy about Aria but she was his best friends girl but now maybe he can direct her to himself. There are strong emotions at the beginning of this book but in the end she realizes that maybe the right guy has been standing right in front of her all along.

This is the 1st in a new series and what an amazing beginning this story is. Aria has had a tough go of things as she lost her fiancé, but now after 2-years she feels read to move on and maybe have a 2nd chance at love. The Berkshire Boys lost one of their own and they have taken it upon themselves to look after Aria as Will would have wanted. I loved the dynamics between these lifelong friends. Dash is one of the group of friends, and he has always had feeling for Aria but never made a move as she was off limits as his friends’ girl. Now she is ready to move on Dash is there ready to help her. This is a beautifully written story which is an emotional roller coaster throughout, as well as being humorous and entertaining. I cannot wait to read the 2nd book, and I highly recommend this for all.

Shae Scott is a new to me author and I will definitely be going back and reading more of her work. Dash was an emotional read that breaks your heart and puts it back together. Make sure you have tissues near by. This was a beautiful story about finding love again after losing your loved one.

Aria has lost the love of her life. She makes a promise to one day date again and now two years later she’s ready to try, only she has no clue how to date. Thankfully she has the help of her best friends.

Dash lost one of his best friends and he made him a promise that he’s finding it harde to keep. How do you help one of your best friends date and find love?

The journey these two take was perfect for them. I absolutely loved Dash and all the secondary characters. I can’t wait for the next book in the series. I can’t recommend this book enough. Read it!

This is the first time I’ve read this author and I really enjoyed this book. Dash is the first book in the series and it’s a perfect introduction to what’s in store for us. The story was unputdownable and captivated me from the very first page. It’s heartwarming and so eloquently written. Dash and Aria’s relationship was absolute perfection . The author has captured every emotion so beautifully. My heart broke for Aria and Will . I loved the beautiful friendship between the guys and I am intrigued to read how the other guys stories would unfold . Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. Would highly recommend this book.

This isn't so heavily emotional, but it was so beautiful to see how the author embellished the familial and friendship values between the boys and Aria after the death of her fiance. Especially them being so protective of her but at the same time support her no matter what.

Another thing I loved most is how the moment Aria and Dash knows their relationship dynamic change, they immediately take the stride towards it. Obviously, the wait for them to finally realised it was excruciating, but it was still worth it. Their story kind of dragged a little bit, in my opinion, but it is still a fun read especially with the other boys' antics.

This is one heartwarming story and I can't wait for the next story. I hope it's Silas's story.

This is only book one of the Berkshire Boys series and I am already in love with all of them. We get an introduction to all the boys and if this story is an indication we are in for a treat. The focus of this one is Dash and Aria and boy is it emotional, word of warning you will need tissues. I liked the character and world building because I felt like I got to know both main charcaters and I easily became immersed in their reality. The friendship between all the guys made for fun reading and the glimpses we got of them ensured I will be reading all their books. I liked the way the change in their relationship was written, the pace felt natural I loved the practice dates which were fun. The chemistry was easy for the reader to see and I liked their slow realisation and then all bets were off and it was hot hot hot.

As I've said you will need tissues as the first part of the book was heartbreaking. A well written book you will laugh and cry at but it is a must read.

This is book one in the Berkshire boys series. Wow was that an introduction! If the first book was any indication...this series is going to be Amazing! These childhood friends lost one of their own. Their best friend Will. They are taking it upon themselves to watch out for his fiancé Aria, like Will would of wanted. What happens when one has feelings for her. Does she feel the same? How will this work? First of all the dynamic of the group is funny, loyal and down right amazing. The chemistry between Aria and Dash is sexy and extremely heart warming. This book had me laughing out loud and shedding a few tears. I am Already looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

What the hell, man? I was not ready for this!

Shaw Scott introduces a new series called The Berkshire Boys. A band of brothers (friends) who grew up together.

Will and Aria have been together since they were 15. Their love grew throughout high school and college until Will proposed. Sadly, a few months later Will was diagnosed with cancer. This was a rough prologue to read as my Mum and best friend both passed away from cancer so this was extra emotional for me. I cried. Will was such a good guy - “I wasn’t meant to be your forever; you were only meant to be mine.”

Spoilers Ahead:
Oh boy. I'm 10 percent in and can tell this is another book where I need to write my review/reaction as I read.

At 10 percent: what a heartbreaking start! I rarely read romances where the hero or heroine has lost a former love due to death. The plot of this book piqued my interest though so I'm pushing through this heartbreaking start.
At 22 percent: the easy chemistry between Dash and Aria is apparent. I'm loving their interactions. There's no sexual tension at this point, which I'm happy about. It wouldn't be realistic for them to develop sexual attraction so quickly after years of platonic friendship. The potential is there though, underneath the surface, waiting to be unleashed once their walls come down.
At 33 percent: I spoke too soon! Hello, sexual tension, welcome to the party! There's tons of sexual tension at this point and the author did a masterful job creating it. It's realistic and the author picked a perfect way to force those walls down to allow Dash and Aria to see each other as potential lovers.
At 60 percent, I'm loving this story. The connection between Dash and Aria has evolved in a realistic way and I can't wait until they give in completely to their feelings. They are tentative due to what's at stake but their desire for one another is too strong to not spill over into their actions.
At 75 percent in, I'm loving Dash and Aria's relationship but I don't understand why they don't tell their friends. Explanations are given but it just doesn't make sense to me. On one hand, I think it's no one's business but theirs. On the other hand, the friendships portrayed in this book make it seem like Dash and Aria should know their happiness would be accepted. Either way, my disagreement with them keeping the relationship a secret isn't hindering my enjoyment of the story. It's wonderful so far!
At 87 percent, I'm seeing Dash and Aria's happiness isn't really being "accepted" quite yet but the months of lying about their relationship contributes to that reaction. The guys are just super protective of Aria and it will take time for them to wrap their minds around Aria and Dash being a couple. I can't wait to read each guy's book, especially Silas' story!
At 100 percent, I'm in tears. The ending of this story was just absolutely beautiful. I can't even remember the last time a romance made me cry.
Do yourself a favor. Read this beautiful story.

This was my first time reading this author, and I'm so glad I took the chance!! I really love the widow/widower trope and having them find their second chance at love. There's something so peaceful and beautifully tragic about it, and add to the fact that this has a slight forbidden twist, I was all here for it!!

Two years ago, Aria lost the only man she had ever loved to the wicked disease that Cancer is. She makes a promise that she will open her heart to love someday, even if she never thought it would be possible. She felt a piece of her die when her ex fiance was lowered into the ground, so seeing her flourish into the woman she came to be was just so beautiful. And I got the feeling that Will knew all along that she would end up up with Dash.❤

Aria is now at the time in her life where she is trying to date again, and after one disastrous -- yet hilarious -- encounter, Dash offers to be her dating coach. They just never expected to fall in love with one another. But what a beautiful journey it was!!

Dash is a playboy, but he's so honest and respectful that I was never annoyed by it. And I loved that when he started to develop romantic feelings for Aria, he never once thought about another woman. Once he opened his heart up to A, that was it, and that's just so rare in romances these days!! He had his own insecurities, but these two navigated everything so naturally and authentically. There friendship blossomed into such a true love in the most epic of ways!

I thought this book would be more darker/angstier than what it was, but it was still so beautiful. I loved the pure friendship that radiated between Aria and Drew, Silas and Carter had and vice versa. I can't wait to see who all these amazing men end up with!!

Oh, what a sweet story! Dash is the first book that I’ve read by Shae Scott, and I am definitely going to be checking out her other books in this Berkshire Boys series!

When Aria’s fiancée Will died of cancer, she was crushed. They’d been together since they were teenagers, and just as they were planning their future together, it was ripped away from them. Although Aria wanted to wanted to wallow in her grief, Will’s best buds wouldn’t let her, and she eased into his place in their group.

Now, it’s two years later and Aria thinks she wants to dip her toe back in the dating pool. So Dash volunteers to help show naive, vulnerable Aria the ropes — and ends up falling in love with her in the process.

I really loved how well the guilt and pleasure was written in this story on both sides. Although Aria didn’t want to be alone any more, she felt like she was betraying Will by moving on... especially with his best friend. And Dash had very similar feelings as he began to see Aria as more than a friend. There is a really nice arc to this story as the two of them wade through their emotions and try to find their footing as a couple.

Dash is super sweet, so patient with Aria. He takes all of her broken pieces and puts them back together again. I loved the connection between these two and their story was perfection!

I was a hopeless romantic with this book. Talk about having a sad start but then it turns into a fun, flirty and sexy read.

I absolutely thought this story was adorable, I loved Dash and Aria. Their chemistry was undeniable and what started off as Dash being Aria's dating coach, turned into pretty much Dash being her actual date every time they went out. It was a forbidden love and they both knew that it was so wrong, but it felt so right. They knew all their friends wouldn't approve of them if their friendship turned into more.

It's been hard for Aria to move on and she feels lonely but the guys are always there to lift her spirits and have made a promise to always, always look out for her.

Can Aria and Dash cherish their past memories and move forward as a couple?

I definitely will cherish this book at heart. It was heartwarming and the characters were downright lovable. I can't wait to read more of this clan because these guys are definitely worth reading about!

Sweet

This a new to me author and I really enjoyed this book. There was a bit of backstory needed, and also character development for the other Berkshire Boy books to come in the future. So it was a bit wordy, but I get why. We need to care about these characters. We need to want to know what happens next. And I do. I want to know who’s going to tame Silas, win Carter’s heart (single parent romance, anyone?), and if Drew’s ex is going to come back for a second chance romance.

“This thing we’re doing, it’s not friends, Aria. We both know that. Friends don’t do the things we do.” - Dash, Shae Scott

Gah. My heart broke for Aria when this book started. I know we needed to hear this part of the story, but man. It felt brutal. The letter Will wrote. The letters he left for Aria through the guys. Heartbreaking, but beautiful.
Dash was just what she needed. I honestly loved his character.
This was a sweet book. It felt a bit wordy at some points, but I get trying to fully set up the series with book 1.

“I’m Will. The one who loved her first.”

Oh man. I cried at the beginning and cried at the end. 😭 I’m not sure why this book has so little reviews, maybe because it’s a tad sappy? Idk, but man it so bittersweet. Sometimes you just need this type of soul cleansing. I love dark and bully romances and this one does not fall under either. It’s a bittersweet, love story through and through.

Aria loses her first love, the love of her young life. He leaves her behind along with his four best friends. This little group manages to heal each other, together after he’s gone.

This is a true love story. It’s sweet, painful and endearing. It’s focused on their story. There were certainly some side stories the writer could’ve taken you, like you wonder what happened to her friend- she’s there at 5% in and then you don’t “see” her again until 75% in! So a few things like this added in would’ve probably made the story not quite as sappy but it’s still a wonderful story. ♥️

Loss can be complicated for everyone impacted. Aria has suffered tragedy but she is still here so at some point there is the need to move forward. When she decides it is time Dash decides he wants to help. He is also being a good and protective friend. But we all know that good intentions can often lead down an unexpected path. What happens when you start to want what you wonder if you should? This story does a wonderful job of being hopeful for the future, encouraging that people live and it shows the beauty and value of friendship as well. And it showcases the wonder of second chances at finding love and happiness where you least expect it.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A tight group of friends lose one of their members to cancer, on his deathbed they all promise to take care of his forever girlfriend, Aria.

But as time passes one of them starts to care more than he should about her.

This was beautiful story about a second chance to find the love of your life, sometimes a bit slow but at the same time understandable to get the whole picture of the love that grew from sadness to something pure and real. The story also brought many side characters that shine on their own and make this story a bit more interesting, totatally recommended.

Was not expecting such a sweet story! Aria’s world is turned upside down when her fiancé passed away from cancer while they are in college. His pact of friends, Berkshire Boys, make sure she’s taken care of. Eventually she decides it’s time to start saying again but she’s only ever dated Will. Dash steps in to help her learn to fate again, neither one of them expected what would happen. Their love story may not be what they expected, but it was perfect!

Shae Scott did a wonderful job in the details and the way she writes is incredible. From the heartbreaking beginning to the Happily Ever After ending there was so many times I caught myself laughing. Amazing job to Shae Scott and I can not wait to read more in this series and more from this author in general.
