Liz is a Canadian author who grew up in the Middle East. She has a degree in Bioarchaeology from Western University, and when she isn't writing about her own snarky characters, she is reading about other people’s snarky characters, babying her herb garden, loitering on social media, or taking care of her furbabies.

Liz dabbles in both paranormal and contemporary erotic romance. Her paranormals are usually dark and angsty, and her contemporaries are stress-free smutfests, but you'll find both riddled with feels. Most of all, she loves writing realistic characters in fantastical settings.

What worked for me :

1 Severus and his POV
Edgy, conflicted, charming character.

2 Severus and Alaric
Epic supernatural bromance.

3 World building
Strange, secretive, very cloak and dagger. This was a major plus for me.

What didn't work for me :

1 Moira
Neither the character, nor the POV. She is in trouble, is mysterious, is in the middle of a dangerous situation, a lot of the action revolves around her.
But Moira didn't fit into the dark, cruel world Liz Meldon has skillfully crafted.

2 Pace Issues
The dialogue was quick, snappy, fun and tender. But the inner musings, descriptions seriously slowed it down.
Hoping for more dialogue in the next bundle.

Book 2 was stronger than book 1 on various levels.

When I find an author I love, I tend to binge-read them like crazy.

Well, the amazing Liz Meldon is my current binge read. And her super sexy angels and demons paranormal romance series The Hunt kept me biting my nails and one-clicking "Preorder Now" for months.

I've already praised Meldon's first book, Predator, which introduces us to the incubus demon escort Severus and the graduate student Moira. (Yes, of course I'm a sucker for a paranormal romance with a graduate student heroine.)

I'm delighted to report that The Hunt series gets better and better. Meldon did an amazing job world-building with Predator, managing to pull me into a world of angels, demons, and hybrids with all my disbelief cheerfully suspended.

That world only gets more intense, fascinating, and darker with the following books, Prey, Stalker, and Killer. Meldon gets so many things right in these books. I'm always impressed by authors who can write both adrenaline-pumping actions scenes and Kindle-melting erotica, and Meldon certainly belongs in that camp.

What's more, her plot was delightfully unpredictable. The few times when I found myself thinking, "Oh, crap, here comes a big miscommunication meltdown," the characters surprised me by being reasonable, thoughtful, and compassionate. Which meant the challenges Severus and Moira - and the amazingly fun cast of supporting characters inhabiting the world around them - were much bigger and far less ordinary than just navigating the depths of an intimate relationship.

That's what makes any novel for me, be it a paranormal romance, an epic fantasy series, or The Brothers Karamazov. The characters have to be believable, and the reader needs to connect with their struggles.

Ultimately, that's why I loved The Hunt so much. I fell for Severus, with his downtrodden past, his desperate striving to do the right thing, and his fathomless loneliness. And I fell for Moira, with her courage in the face of adversity, and her stubborn insistence to hold on to what's good about her life, even if it means bringing her best friend into a world of angels and demons.

If you're looking for your next epic read, you can't go wrong with The Hunt series!

I read Predator and Prey separately as they released and loved them both. Liz Meldon has created a world of angels and demons that is both original and exciting. This series has it all - romance that is nothing short of smoking hot with the chemistry between Severus and Moira, suspense as Moira searches for answers about her father, and intrigue and danger as they get closer to the truth. Add in all the terrific characters along with the witty dialogue and this is one impossible to put down read.

PREDATOR

Severus has dealt with being at the bottom of social hierarchy all his long life. His kind, incubus, are considered lowly leeches at the best. Tired of all the scorn he decided to live among humans and obtain his sustenance from them. He lives his life as an escort, a perfect front for his true nature. In his line of work he he seen many unusual creatures but his entire lifetime couldn't have prepared him for Moira.

The past year has meant drastic changes for Moira. Everything about her is different. So much so that she can't bear to look herself in a mirror because the creature looking back isn't her. It can't be. Plagued with questions and unable to find answers, she just assumes that she has the same mysterious disease that took away her mother. She couldn't be farther from the truth.

Fate brings these two unlikely beings together and they share no similarities. Still the demon inside Severus longs to be near Moira and she can't seem to stop thinking about him. Together they try to seek out answers unaware that a higher power is out to hunt them.

I CANNOT BELIEVE THIS BOOK, Y'ALL!!!! I am so stumped and honestly didn't see this story coming. It is without a doubt one of THE BEST paranormal romance I've ever read and SHIT IS JUST GETTING STARTED.

Moira intrigued me and man I can just feel that her story arc is going to be epically amazing. I am so here for this soon to be a badass heroine and honestly I am just waiting for her to kill some worthless creatures. GIVE MAMA DEATH!!!!!

Severus is my most favourite demon and I know I said it like it's real but humor me I AM IN LOVE!!!!! An escort who also is an incubus and doesn't really want to kill humans? Can he just please love me back?? I am so pumped to see more of his dirty talker side because who wouldn't want that?

Liz Meldon is just a master of whatever she writes and I KNOW she can write anything she sets her mind too. Basically, she is either a magical being or an evil mastermind but we'll figure out soon I reckon. Eagerly awaiting the next part of this gorgeous series!!!

PREY

Severus has found out about Moira's secret. A secret she didn't even know. A secret that has put both their lives in danger. When they set out to look for Moira's father they unknowingly become targets of an enemy that won't stop till they're dead.

Can Severeus and Moira find a way out of this mess unscathed?

I AM SHOOK!

I cannot believe what happened in this book, y'all! I sat there with my jaw dropped, heart running and zero sense of time. I was so freaking engrossed in what was happening and GOD DAMN IT, Liz Meldon killed it with this book. I am dying for more Severus and Moira. These two are the cutest, fucked up pair ever. <3

I was dying at everything happening in the book because obviously it was painful af but because I was genuinely scared for my babies. I seriously wasn't expecting all of what happened and I think I'm still in shock.

I am desperate for the next book because I NEED to see Moira kick ass. I NEED to see Severus and Moira fall in love. I NEED these babies to be happy together forever.

PREDATOR (Book #1)

Incubus Severus is a male escort and being the epitome of many a human fantasy, has women beating down the door to give him his next fix. Grad student Moira Aurelia thinks she's dying and wants to experience an orgasm before she dies so she books a session with the best male escort. Severus is intrigued by the beautiful Moira who brings out his inner demon. Moira doesn't realize she's isn't human until Severus connects the dots and comes to a startling conclusion. But someone else already knows what Moira is and doesn't want anyone else to find out about her ... which means Moira's days are numbered. Note: This story ends on a cliffhanger.

Liz Meldon delivers an entertaining, intriguing and steamy story that will draw you in.

PREY (Book #2)

Incubus Severus is risking his life to help Moira to find her angel father. Severus feels something stir in the pit of his lonely black soul whenever he looks at Moira and he wants her. Angel-human hybrid Moira Aurelia wants to find her father to talk. Moira is glad to have Severus on her side and plans to make the most of it while trying to ignore how gorgeous he is. When Moira accidentally reveals her angelic nature in a demon bar, she becomes wanted so Severus has Moira stay with him in his bespelled and hidden home to keep her safe. Moira ignores the danger she's in sneaks out the first chance she gets and ends up getting kidnapped. Will Severus be able to save Moira before it's too late?

Liz Meldon delivers an action-packed, suspenseful and steamy story that you won't be able to put down. I can't wait to read Stalker, Book 3 of The Hunt series, to find out what happens next.

Predator
This quick little gem introduces us to a supernatural world that exists beside our own that most of us mere humans believe is nothing more than fantasy. But in this world, all the creatures that go bump in the night are real, including demons, witches, vampires, and angels. Severus is an incubus, a demon of lust. He’s come to terms with what he is and how most of his fellow demons view him. Moira is a college student who’s once perfectly healthy body has betrayed her. Nothing in her world is the same anymore. When these two meet, loads of questions come crashing to the surface. I’m loving these characters. I’m loving the intrigue around Moira’s ancestry. And after the way this ends, I can’t wait to read the next book.
Prey
Wow. I think I’m just a little numb now because the words refuse to come. This was a darkly emotional read. It picks up almost immediately where the first book left off and carried me away. I’m not completely impressed with Moira’s too-stupid-to-live actions, but I understand why she does them and why they were necessary for the story. I loved watching Severus and all his protective instincts. Now I’m even more desperate to read the rest of the series.

Book one: Predator: I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Instafreebie and am voluntarily leaving a review. An engaging and dark story about Severus and his fascination with Moira. Moira a college student working on her masters and hired as a TA has been going through severe changes in her body. She has been to the doctor and they don't know what is causing it to happen. According to Severus she is a goddess. He can't explain why she has affected him so and why she is not like the rest of the other human women he services. This is a quick and exciting read. Cannot wait for the next book... I need to find out what happens.
Book two: Prey: I loved the dark, suspenseful romance between Moira and Severus. Moira is coming to terms with herself and the changes in her body. She is not dying but developing new strengths. Can't wait for the next book. This was a page turner.

Predator - book 1

A great introduction to the Hunt series, Predator slowly brings you in to the supernatural world.

Moira's story is intriguing and draws you in. It was well written and compelling enough to keep you glued to the pages.

The introduction of Severus was enticing with a lot of heat thrown in.

I can't wait to see what is in store for the both of them.

Prey - book 2

Book two in the Hunt series immerses Moira in the dark world of demons.

The relationship between her and Severus starts to heat up and the danger to her comes to a flashpoint.

The book is so well written that I couldn't put it down. It slowly built to a dramatic crescendo that you have to read to believe.

I love where the author is taking the story and have loaded book 3 in anticipation.

I received an ARC of The Hunt: Book Bundle #1 and this is my honest review.

I love Liz Meldon’s novels do it’s no surprise that I was delighted to get my hands on The Hunt: Book Bundle #1. Each of the books in the set, Predator (book 1) and Prey (book 2) is superb. These were one hot sexy set of novels and definitely recommended. Each had just what I wanted and was well written and with a great plot and great cast of characters. I frankly adore Moira Aurelia and Severus, and the rest of the cast if characters is pretty amazing as well. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - these two books definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book set is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.

This is a bind up edition containing book one Predator and book two Prey in the hunt series, a dark supernatural fantasy series by Liz Meldon. I loved reading these books that introduces the readers to the world of dark supernatural creatures existing alongside humanity demons, angels, Witches, fae. A very entertaining and enjoyable books to read but with some dark scenes so readers beware of torture.

In Predator we meet an outcast demon an incubus named Severus also known as Russ Tanner an escort who feeds on the life essence of his clients but he doesn’t kill them. He resides on earth In Farrow’s Hollow. Moira Aurelia is a grad student at Farrows university after the death of her mother and after her twenty second birthday began going through unexplainable supernatural changes her eyes went from green to a bright blue, her chestnut brown hair fell out and grew back pure white, her freckles disappeared, her skin tone went from natural tanned to pale, she’s had weight loss as well. She feels insecure about her changes and has largely withdrawn from social gatherings except for hanging out with her best friend Ella. Moira hires Russ for a night of passionate sex, he’s intrigued by her and his demon awakens inside of him something that hasn’t happened before, she’s immune to his incubus charms. She makes him feel more alive than he ever has, but as they’re getting it on she freaks out when she sees his eyes change to pitch black, she flees. Severus can’t get her out of his head and starts stalking her much to the amusement of his friend Alaric whom suggests she maybe a hybrid. Desperate to get answers about Moira leads to a confrontation where she tells him about her mothers warning before her death and then the changes she’s gone through her mother never told her about her father but gave her a card with Seraphim Securities on it, the sight of it unnerves Severus she tells him she tried taking photographs but they all came back with blurry faces. He tells her that her mother was human normal but her father is an angel who would kill her because she’s an angel hybrid a nephilim he flees the room, but his demon fights him to stay with her especially when he can hear her sobbing so he returns and offers help to find the identity of her father but warns her she will need to be careful. Unbeknownst to them an unseen figure is watching them and regards Moira as the mistake he needs to keep hidden from the others especially now that’s she’s started changing the angel her father his thoughts on her mother and on her are extremely nasty and is digusted by her existence and makes a comment while she’s smiling that her days of smiling are limited.

In Prey following the Events of the previous book Moira and Severus have made a pact to find her father an unknown angel working at seraphim securities so she can get answers. After a failed attempt at seraphim securities leads them to hide out at Severus and Alarics spell hidden home, where Severus gives into his desire for her and lets his inner demon out. Severus decides to go to Verrier the former prince of hell and Alarics father with the sketches of the angels to get names and leaves Moira in the club while he’s in the meeting unfortunately Moira catches the attention of a creepy demon named Diriel that leads to physical fight between Severus and Diriel Moira worried for Severus inadvertently uses a unknown power against Diriel exposing the club full of demons her angel hybrid status, leading the demons to want a piece of her. Severus has her stay in his home and not leave until things are taken care of, but she sneaks out one night to hand in papers only to be kidnapped by Diriel. Whom relishes in torturing and humiliating her over the next three days and tells her, that it was her own angelic father that hired Diriel to kill her, but he won’t just yet he plans for her wings to grow feathers so he can sell the valuable feathers. Luckily Severus along with his witch cousin Cordelia and Alaric they rescue her and take her back home. Moira plans to get revenge on her father and Diriel and hopes to expose her fathers indiscretion. I loved the chemistry between Severus and Moira and with Cordelia and Alaric, this book was a very interesting book to read.
