Serial Killer
From the age of seven Cuthbert Cuthbert knew what he wanted to be when he grew up. A film director. So why is it that at the age of 22, with a 2.1 degree in film-making, he is in charge of a group of old age pensioners on their way to see the Blackpool Illuminations? Who are quickly driving him up the wall. However, unbeknownst to the beleaguered Cuthbert, a brighter future one of the pensioners in his charge is Grace, a lady who once had hopes of becoming a star of the silver another is Stan, who yearns for more excitement than life at Donny Donaldson Retirement Homes is giving him. And not forgetting, of course, the late Arthur Springett, a man whose serial killer screenplay, already containing fifteen deaths in its two hour running time, ends up having a few more.

Before they took me away I wrote BBC television comedy scripts for Les Dawson, The Two Ronnies, Morecambe and Wise, Alas Smith and Jones, Not the Nine O’Clock News, Ken Dodd, Roy Hudd, and several others. I also wrote the award-winning BBC radio series Star Terk Two.
I started writing books when I retired from scriptwriting in 1995. Up to now I have written sixteen, all of them humour.
Born in New Mills, Derbyshire, England in 1938, I still live there with my wife Delma and my mistress Divine Bottom (in my dreams).

DNF
As I’ve said before, life is just too short for books that don’t do it for me. And this one don’t!
The story is just too narrow and therefore highly predictable. It promises laughs and smiles, but never delivers, and not just because you can see them arriving well in advance. It’s just not funny.
Take this quote from the book, I’m sure the writer didn’t intend it to apply to his own...?
‘... the protagonist had said that he could no longer read the books of other authors, especially not very good authors, without mentally altering their words into more pleasing lines of dialogue and narrative.’
So it goes.

Comic genius strikes yet again
Another absolute cracker from a comedy writing genius .from start to finish couldn't stop chuckling to myself. Terry Ravenscroft is in a class of his own . Can't wait for his next book
