Cole Blackpelt makes his living as an underground cage fighter up and down the Gulf Coast. When he was young, he fled his home, believing that his entire family was dead. But a wolf-shifter witch shows up to tell him his brothers are not only alive, but one of them will die if he doesn't help.
Mallory Delgado is the curvy, pretty, but lonely sheriff's deputy in the sleepy down of Lockdale, Texas. Nothing ever happens in Lockdale, except that in the past year, there was a strange multiple homicide that left the old sheriff dead. And now the new sheriff, Ben Smith, has decided to take on the richest and most corrupt man in town, Carson DeLaine. She's worried he's bitten off more than he can chew when a pair of strangers show up in town and Ben falls mysteriously ill. But someone else is coming to Lockdale, an unlikely hero who just might save the day and steal Mallory's heart.

Cole Blackpelt has been fighting his way all over the country trying to block out and take out his pain on his opponents.. The death of his parents and the uncertainty that his brothers survived the massacre has been eating away at his soul and he retaliates the only way he knows how, with his fists.

Cole and Mallory must join forces to tear down the plans of his family's murderer before it's too late. Can Cole act more with his head than his hands with the help of this BBW
A Bear Saves The Town is book 2 in the Blackpelt Brothers trilogy by Macy Babineaux. The Blackpelt brothers are shifters; they can shift into human shape instead of the bears they are. They lived in a place separate from humans with their family until they were overthrown by Craven and their parents were murdered. The three brothers were shown the crack that lead to the human world and were saved for now. They have been hunted by Craven since that time. They had gone separate ways with none of them knowing where the others went or even if they were still alive. Book two continues with Cole’s story. Cole had become a fighter to make a living. So far, he was doing well and had not been beaten and had not given into his anger to the point of turning into a bear. His partner Luther was with him to make sure he was fine before the fight. Luther also made the deals and paid Cole for each fight. This fight started out like every other one. The ref checked both men for weapons and then began the fight. Cole was surprised by the man’s speed and strength; but soon got the upper hand. Then the man pulled a knife and sliced Cole’s stomach. The knife only made Cole angrier and he won the fight. When he went to get paid, Luther didn’t have the money. The fight had been rigged and he had bet against Cole. Cole headed for his truck to leave but found Valinda, a witch in his truck. She had come to tell him that his brother Ben was in serious trouble and needed his help. When he gets to Ben’s town, he finds Ben is in a catatonic state in the hospital. The doctors have no idea what is wrong. Ben has had a spell put on him by a witch using a figure much like a voodoo doll to hold his spirit. Cole, with the help of the interim Sheriff Mallory Delgado, has to find the witch who put the spell on Ben and get her to take it off. To get to her, they have to go through another witch and an assassin. Can they get the container with Ben’s soul in it and get his soul released without endangering the entire town? Who is behind this and what does he want? This book is excellent. It is impossible to put down but can be read in a couple of hours. Waiting for book 3 will be difficult.
If you have ever lived in a small town, you know that a lot happens underneath the surface and even small towns have an underworld. What most small towns don’t have, however, is someone hell-bent on destroying a whole family – or what’s left of it, in any case – through supernatural means. Cole Blackpelt, a cage-fighting bear shifter, is notified of his brother, Ben’s being in trouble by a witch named Valinda, but Cole is about to discover that Valinda isn’t all she seems to be, and not all problems can be solved using his fists. Teaming up with Mallory Delgado, Cole works to save Ben and their other brother as forces conspire against them all.
This novel is the second book in the trilogy and, while I have not read the first book, I found it very interesting and there was not much action that I felt I was missing having not ready the first book. I do think that reading it would give a richer understanding into the events of this story, and I will definitely be looking for it, but the novel is written in a way that there is a beginning, middle, and end. The epilogue does make it obvious that there is another book to follow, but it does not end in a cliffhanger. The novel ends simply with making the reader wanting to know what happens next for the Blackpelt brothers and their mates. I truly enjoyed this book and Macy Babineaux has made her way onto my list of authors to look read. There are a few explicit scenes that make me feel more comfortable recommending this book to readers 18+.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book. This is the second story in this series. In this story, Ben, the first bear brother we met decides to confront the town’s biggest businessman and crime boss, a man named DeLaine who happens to be in the company of dangerous shifters loyal to Craven, the antagonist for Ben’s family, the one responsible for the Blackpelt brothers’ parents and countless others from their Clave. One of the shifters sent to the town happens to be a witch who puts Ben in a catatonic state. Mallory Delgado is one of Ben’s deputies that has a crush and a lot of respect for Ben—until she meets his brother Cole. Then, she can see or think of nothing else than Cole. Big, brash, headstrong, honorable, and sweet when he wants to be, Cole has always been a fighter and a hothead compared to his brothers. After several trials and some insta-lovin’ Mallory and Cole find a way to use their strengths and support each other’s weaknesses to help them fight off this latest group of assassins. I really loved how this story played out. It was just long enough to not make you feel as if you were missing something and not so long to drag the story out with a bunch of tedious details. We even get to briefly meet the third Blackpelt brother. I can’t wait for this story!
Cole Blackpelt, the second of the Blackpelt brothers. He makes a living in underground fights traveling from one town to another. This helps with the restlessness he feels after his family was murdered by the wolf Alpha taking over his clan. He is good at what he does, winning each bout and collecting his share of the money and bets placed. This works well until his manager attempts to throw a fight and bets against him. It is time to stop and re-evaluate his life. He gets a message from a wolf shifter/witch, Valinda, that his older brother Ben may die and needs his help. She tells him that he will fall in love that that may save everyone. Ben and Valinda travel to the small town where Ben lives. Lockdale Texas and Ben is the local Sheriff. Except that Ben is in the hospital in a coma and Mallory Delgado the ranking deputy is suddenly promoted to Sheriff. Ben and Mallory are instantly attracted and are united in their desire to find a way to bring Ben out of his coma. Mallory knows that something happened when Ben confronted the local crime lord. Can Ben and Mallory find a way to help Ben? What about the wolf witch Valinda and her sister, Wylora? This was a fun and fast read. Great steamy parts and nice mystery. I am so looking forward to Nash's story, coming up next!
Cole's father had been the leader of the clave before he was betrayed and killed. Now he makes a living as a bare-knuckle fighter or maybe I should say bear-knuckle fighter since he is a bear shifter. A witch shows up and tells him his brother needs him. Mallory is the deputy sheriff in lockdale, Texas and a human. When her boss Ben falls into a coma there is more trouble going on in the town then she know what to do with. Love the characters and action. It has a great storyline full of mystery, betrayal, intrigue, twist and turns. It a great read. Don't miss it. Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly enjoyed it.

Cole's a bear shifter cage fighter. Not only does it pay well but gives him a way to take out his rage. He escaped his home after his entire family is murdered by the vicious new leader. At least that's what he thought. Timing puts him out of a job and with a message that his brother is still alive but in trouble if he doesn't get help. He arrives in town too late.
Mallory is a big curvy deputy who is temporarily in charge while Ben, Cole's brother, is incapacitated in the hospital. The evil drug dealer in town is escalating his illegal activities. Can she handle the worsening situation? When Cole arrives and insists on helping her so they can help his brother feelings for each other add even more complications.
Trust for each other isn't their biggest problem. Who can they trust? Who can help them? Will anyone with the danger surrounding them?
There is more magic than just his secret shifting ability. Witches, assassins and so much more. An action filled romance you'll enjoy and keep turning the pages. Will brother number three turn up to help?
I voluntarily reviewed this advanced reader copy and I have not been compensated in any way.
Mallory was the deputy who has just become the Sheriff a position she has always wanted but not this way Ben was struck down and she is not sure why but she is pretty sure how. But before she can do much a giant of a man comes into the police station and he was so big he had to bend his head to get through the door for some reason this man touched something deep with in her and she new that this man meant something to her as well as being some kin of Ben's. The town is under seize and it is up to Mallory and Cole to make sure that they save the town and Ben. Carvern Redclaw is behind all of this since Ben came to town Redclaw has been trying to kill him and is determined to destroy every Blackbelt as he did their parents back at their childhood home. Now that Cole has seen Mallory he knows that the witch who brought him here was not lying but she was about everything else. They have a long hard road ahead of them and Mallory and Cole find that there is something between them that they cannot deny. This book is even better than the first book in the series. I was given a copy as a gift from the author. I am providing an honest review without obligation.
I adore these Bear-shifter Brothers – Cole is Terrific!!
Cole believes his family is all dead. He controls his bear by taking part in brutal fights. When his “partner” double crosses him, he is left with disappointment rather than a big payday. A witch finds him to tell him his brother is alive and needs help he heads to Lockdale, TX to do just that. The witch also tells him he will find his love along the way.
Mallory works in law enforcement. When Sheriff Ben goes into a catatonic state, she becomes acting Sheriff – a job she has aimed at, but not this way. When the Sheriff’s brother comes into town and miraculously saves a woman from a fiery building she knows there is more to him that she can see. As these two work together to solve the issue with Ben, the criminal element in the town and additional magical dangers, we are treated to a story with danger, intrigue, romance and edge-of-your seat action!!

Wow once again I am brought to a world of powerful shifters. Cole has been traveling from town to town fighting as its the only way he can control the rage, He has been on the run since "the purge" where his family died. A witch comes to him and tells him his younger brother Ben is alive. He is not very trusting of humans especially after his manager betrayed him, yet something tells him the witch is telling the truth. Mallory is a police officer under Ben who is the Sheriff recently a young boy dies from a drug overdose and Ben has had enough of ignoring the problem. that of course sends him into a catatonic state thereby making Mallory the senior officer temporary Sheriff.
That is basically the opening scene and Ms. Babineaux tells the story in such a way that she kept me riveted to those pages now I am looking forward to what happens next in this war between Blackpelt and Ravenclaw. I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way for this opinion.
The Blackpelt brothers are an exciting crew. As Ben finds himself in trouble, Cole is summoned to come and help him. Cole is the brash, take no prisoners, act before you think brother. He’s been fighting to make a living which keeps his bear under control. When he arrives in Lockdale, he first encounters Mallory and is sucker punched. He is surprised by his connection to a human and the strength she projects. Mallory knows something strange is going on and she needs to figure out how to help Ben. When Cole shows up with the same agenda, can these unlikely allies join forces and fight the evil trying to destroy the Blackpelt brothers? There is a great legend and mystery to this story. I love the world that has been created for the shifters and myths to how they live and interact with the humans. Excited to see where we go next know that we met Nash. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
The Big Baddies have their sights on another Blackpelt brother...
We get a little more mythology with this book delving not only into Cole's past but that of their "Clave" or world. His brother is in trouble and a witch is leading him to Ben. But his dad always said not to trust witches, should he? Mallory, deputy to Sheriff Ben, is all human and doesn't know what to think as she's thrown into the supernatural. The fated mate trope is here but it's not sappy and overwhelming. Mallory is unsure but has a hung ho take no prisoners attitude. This is a good action paranormal read. But we also know the big baddy will be back.
This is a really great read. Mallory and Cole are united to save the town and his brother Ben. They have a nasty villain to deal with who is determined to take over the town now that he has taken down the sheriff.
Cole has been alone and thought his family was all dead. He has been fighting to make a living and deal with his rage. He is sent to the town to save his brother. I really liked the romance between him and Mallory. They make a great couple and have fantastic chemistry. The story has a really good mix of action and romance and it keeps it exciting for the reader.
This is a fast paced read involving corrupt officials, witches, and, of course, shifters.
When Ben the sheriff (from book 1) is put out of action his brother, Cole, arrives to try and save him and the town, with more than a little help from Mallory, the temporary sheriff.
There is violence, shooting, more than one witches curse, and attraction in the story....Mallory is more than a match for Cole!
No plot spoilers, I'll just say that the arrival of Nick, the third Blackpelt brother, at the end of the story sets the scene nicely for book 3......
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book Book 2 in this series doesn’t fail to impress. A story of bear shifters, witches, evil, spells, black magic and so much more. Underground fighter Cole Blackpelt is told by witch Valinda, his Sheriff brother Ben (from book 1) is in trouble. Arriving in the town of Lockdale he never expects to meet a woman who will change his life forever. Acting Sheriff Mallory Delgado. Together their lives will be entwined with such a strong bond that shocks them both. I couldn’t put this story down. So graphic, so interesting. Loved it. Roll on book 3 about the third brother Nathan.
A Bear Saves the Town by Macy Babineaux Cole (bear shifter) and his brothers were forced to leave their father's e secret community of shifters after his father was betrayed and his parents killed. He is told by the witch Valinda that his brother Ben is in trouble. Ben is the sheriff of the town and Mallory is his chief deputy. There is a lot of action, romance, woo-woo stuff where they fight off the evil and get to a temporary HEA... but there is still a book to come and I have to go back anr read A BEAR COMES TO TOWN...Ben and Savannah's story.
This is the second book I have read by this author and I am loving her more and more. This book is full of action, sacrifice, love, and bravery. Not only are there shifters but there are witches. I'm loving the way this story is going and I also love the background of her shifters. I enjoyed reading about the clave and the world that her shifters come from. The magic was amazing and Mallory's abuela was hilarious. over all great read and I can not wait to read Nash's story. I have grown quite fond of these books.
The second book of this series, this has been an entertaining read. The simplicity of the title always gives me a chuckle. It doesn’t take much to get into this storyline, and it gives you just enough action to keep you glued. There is more to come in future books for sure, but there is a partial resolution reached to give us readers a feel good moment. Needless to say, there is just enough spice to this book to make it for mature readers. This review has been written voluntarily
Emotionally charged, sweetly sexy, action packed romantic adventure filled with danger, mystery and an enticing paranormal twist. Loving this trilogy.
Cole Blackpelt is sexy, dangerous and making his living as a underground cage fighter when he is told that not only are his brothers alive but Ben is in desperate need of his help. Mallory Delgado is a sexy, sassy and loyal sheriff's deputy in Lockdale, Texas where Ben is the new Sheriff in town. Sparks fly as they fight to save Ben and the town. Loved every exciting twist and highly enjoyed reading this exciting adventure.
This story is unexpectedly full of twist that makes it an exciting read.
Cole is raw, tough, and totally determined to save his brothers by facing old and new enemies. What Cole goes through to save his not only his brother but a woman that he barely knows.
Mallory doesn't quite understand what's happening to her town or her boss. She understands even less how she is quickly developing feelings for her boss' brother.
Can they work together to save the town and Ben?
I have received an ARC in exchange for a fair and honest review.
This is one action packed magical read. Cole Blackpelt doesn't stay in one place very long. He thinks his whole family is dead and after a betrayal he finds out his brothers are alive. Ben, his oldest brother, is in the hospital with an unknown ailment and in terrible danger. Cole meets his mate, Mallory, in town and the two of them must fight to save Ben and the town. This was a wonderful addition to the series. The next book can't come soon enough. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is the second in the series, and I looked forward to this after reading the first. Cole is a bit of a hot head, full of anger. Meeting Mallory changes his perspective. She is a strong woman, not one to run from the unusual or the dangerous. I enjoyed her spunk and loved how she trusted Cole despite the shifter side of him. It was a fun read, and I look forward to the wrapping up with Nash.
I received a copy of this story as a gift, and this is my unsolicited review.
When Sheriff Ben is in danger, his brother Cole comes to save him. Little does he know what awaits for him in town. Mallory doesn’t know what to do when Ben falls ill. The town is under one man’s bad influence. Will Cole help out? Why is she so drawn to him? Lots of action, betrayal and slow burning romance in this installment of the series. With both main characters POV the drama is that more alluring. Great series!
Its time to stop hiding! Cole Blackpelt has been in hiding for years. He thought his brother was dead but when he receives word that his brother is not only alive but in trouble, he comes out of hiding to help him. When Mallory, his brother’s deputy discovers the brother’s secrets, will she be able to help them both before its too late? For me this was a story filled with magic and danger and will definitely leave you wanting more.
I received a copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is one fast-paced shifter romance! 💖🐻💖
This book will take you on a wild ride! Cole is a bear shifter on a mission to save his brother but he meets his mate, Mallory, first. And from there, they are drawn into a battle that ends in a draw... for now.
Fair warning, this is the second book of a trilogy and it does end on a bit of a cliffhanger. 😉🤫
A Bear Saves the Town is Cole Blackpelt’s story. It all starts when a witch shows up and tells Cole that his brother Ben needs him. Then his routine life becomes a little less routine. I really liked Mallory. She is smart and take no crap. She can handle the rage that Cole lives with in his heart and ease it somewhat. Though this is the second in the series it can be read stand alone. I am really looking forward to the next in the series.
This was a very intriguing and interesting read. Had me hooked from beginning to end. There was plenty of action and of course steamy romance. We do get a temporary HEA but i I'm looking forward to seeing what else is in store for this series. I voluntarily read and review this ARC no minority compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Very exciting read. He goes back to help a brother who is in trouble with all that is going on in the town his brother is sheriff at. He thought he was dead. And then add in the sexy sheriff's deputy. It is exciting, intriguing, suspenseful, emotional and so much more. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.
