Men of Meadowfall #4

Two Alphas, One Omega

Rate this book
(Alternate cover edition of ASIN B07CRMW4JX)

A lonely omega. An ageing alpha. Valen's an alpha, too, and he wants them both.

Sam Brentwood had everything... and he's lost it all. At eighteen, he left the love of his life. At nineteen, he miscarried Valen's baby. These days, Sam's hidden his heart away, working multiple jobs to afford a house.

Valen Tolstoy has a secret—two, actually. One: he's never stopped missing his omega. Two: he's dating the station's second-in-command. Harris is two decades older than Valen, richer and better than Valen can possibly be. Sooner or later, Harris will realize Valen's not worth hanging around, and he'll leave.

Ten years ago, Harrison Fields lost his family. Afraid of risking his heart with another omega, he's tumbled into bed with someone just as risky—his subordinate, the fire chief's son. But Valen is young, rough, and they don't always get along. So Harris hires a private instructor, hoping to tighten their relationship.

To Valen's shock, the chef Harris hires... is the omega who left him, the only omega he's ever loved. Worse, Sam's in heat, and it flings Valen into a rut.

When the embers from their steamy night cool, Sam discovers that he's pregnant with Valen's child. Afraid of a relationship, he tries backing away—only to find that the two alphas he met... won't let him go.

Two Alphas, One Omega is a 115,000-word standalone Alpha/Alpha/Omega non-shifter MPreg romance, with dirty jokes, a much-anticipated baby, and two alphas longing for an omega to protect.

Ooooh, so this one may have bumped Meadowfall #2 out of my #1 favorite spot! I ADORED Sam, Harris, and Valen together. So much emotion, chemistry, connection, angst and doubt, and love there between the three of them.

We first met Sam in the last book and I'm so glad this was his story! Sam is an omega, who used to be with Valen back when the two of them were teenagers, until they split up and Sam lost the baby he was carrying (not a spoiler since it's in the blurb). I loved Sam, his quiet strength, his strong will, and love for his alphas and baby. Loved him!

Since then, Valen (who is an alpha) has met Harris (also an alpha). They are both living together and also working together at the fire station. Harris also has his own history of loss, and it's something that initially brings Sam and Harris together, since they both know what the other had gone through in a sense. And, oh yeah, Harris 50 and Sam and Valen are 30, so bring on the angst!

I loved the emotion in this one - each of these three men have their doubts, worries, and ultimately think the worst - that the baby won't make it, that Sam and Valen deserve each other without Harris, that Harris can be a better alpha for Sam than Valen ever could be - you get the drift. There are misunderstandings, but not I-wanna-smack-you-senseless misunderstandings that many books have. (Well, maybe one...) Throughout it all, as Sam's pregnancy progresses, they fall more and move in love with each other. And WHEW, these three were smokin' hot together!

I love that this book covered all 9 months of Sam's pregnancy, with days and weeks going by at a time instead of months like a lot of books do. I love all the little moments the 3 shared, from picking "dad" names, to buying and giving baby clothes, to the scent marking and mating. I just loved it. One of the best things I have read from this author, and I can't wait for more!

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Another wonderful book from the Meadowfall series. I enjoy Anna's writing and how she develops the relationships between the MC's.
Please check the content warning before reading this book.
Sam, our omega, has a wonderful balance of being strong in what he has survived but vulnerable to emotion. He is the best friend of Wyatt from book 3, working at Wy's Drive In as the Cook.
Valen was once Sam's Alpha but couldn't make the commitment Sam needed. He is physically strong but after such a rough childhood with some awful parents he struggles with self belief. He's happy in his current relationship, though to some it's slightly taboo to have two alpha's together.
Harrison is old, as he says, but enjoys being with Valen. After losing his omega he's shied away from being with one again and is staying "safe" with alphas. Their relationship has a lot of strong emotion with them both being alphas but it's easy to see they care for each other.
Valen already knows Sam but it takes no time to continue his attachment and Harrison starts caring all too soon for his liking. They come across as a wonderful triad, each bringing something different to the table and offering each other different things too. Both alphas are able to show their softer side with the omega, caring and doting on him which, when with another alpha, isn't as easy to exhibit.
My one thing from the story that slightly irked was how long it took for them all to communicate and actually say what they felt for each other and themselves.
Anna's writing of them is great, a lot of strong emotion throughout the story, both highs and lows. I've enjoyed this series and it's good having past characters popping in in other books in some way, tying them all together.
I would recommend this book and series, I think it has got better as it's gone on.
I received an ARC and am happily giving a review.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this story. We saw Sam in the The Omega’s Stepbrother and I was glad to see him get his own story. What’s interesting all of these guys don’t believe that they will ever find someone in their life to stay and love them but they find so much more.

There is quite the dynamic between all of these characters individually and when they are all together. I loved Sam’s innocence and how accepting he could be no matter what. Harris can be a bit gruff but deep down cares and does show it to his alpha and omega just not always in the same ways. Valen needed to do a bit of growing up and accepting his child was the best step he took for them. I liked how this book tied in characters from the first book in the series too.

I don’t have a lot to say I guess but it was a good book and a great addition to the series.

I liked the characters in this one for the first half of the book but boy oh boy was this one too long. A lot of repetition and it just dragged on for far too long with too much backwards and forwards between the three men.

This is my favorite of this series. So well-developed. Very interesting relationships (within reason of things you'll expect to find in this kind of book).

Sam, Valen and Harris are cute together, I enjoyed them as a throuple. Some of the internal angsting got to be too much, too repetitive but my only real, big issue was with the abusive parents.

Both parents hit Valen as a child and as an adult, his mother is absent or using him and his father/fire chief continues to be emotionally abusive, as well as actively encouraging Harris (his subordinate and Valen’s work superior) to physically beat Valen for discipline.
This is not reported or dealt with in any way, Harris at one point worries about losing the respect of this man and sort-of friend…?
Worry over losing his job, sure, Harris has made a couple of HR-worthy infractions too, but the respect of child-beating scum? Who tf cares.
And then both parents attend their wedding.
And are introduced to their grandchild, which is absolutely mind boggling to me. If my partner was abused by their parents—who continue to treat my partner badly—you can bet they’re not coming within shouting distance of my baby.
And I would STRONGLY encourage my partner to take some distance, at the very least until their parents can act with basic decency and respect.

Between this book and the last book, I’m a little concerned by this writer’s approach to abusive families.

I really like omega/alpha/betas books. I always find fascinating how the authors take their own spin on it and work to create something new. From this series, I've read the first three books in Kindle and I liked them but this one I felt it didn't deliver something I enjoyed. Within the first 16% of the book, they are jumping on the bed. I didn't think the characters were well-developed. I hope the author would have gone into Valen and Sam's past relationship sans the sex and describe more of their romance and background. I also would've liked a bit more of Harris' relationship with his past omega. I felt the book was a bolt of angst, sometimes without sense and actions that only made the book longers without need. All around, the book was full of sex - which hot, not complaining there - and angst, feelings that were said and not heard and more angst.

MMM read. Sam is a young omega, struggling to live on his own. He and Valen were together years ago, but Valen did not want to commit. Valen is now with another alpha, Harrison, and they must keep their relationship hidden because of a perceived stigma. For all Harrison's maturity, he is very callous with his actions and communications with Valen and Sam. A long read which left some issues unresolved, like Valen's parents and co-workers.

No I love yous

This book was nice. I liked that the alphas helped sam cook, and were so gentle with him and respectful. Why two stars were knocked down was because Harris hardly says I love you. Harris never says I love you too Sam and maybe once to Valen. Harris in general wasn’t my favorite character. But Valen? He was written so beautifully and Sam
was such a sweetheart.

This would have been a 5 star read had it been edited and lost about 300 pages.

Every moment of this triad's indecision and "they dont need me" whining was detailed.

Dont get me wrong, the sex was good, but it was dragged out too much.

Not bad

Interesting take on an Omegaverse. Don't often get menages in them, so that was something different to read about. Overall, not too bad.

This book has it all

What a wonderful story Ms Wineheart has written for us. And like her previous tales in the 'Men of Meadowfall' series there is just enough that is different in the story to keep your attention without having so much that you start getting confused.

Wyatt and Raph from Omega's Stepbrother are s significant part of this story but their backstory is explained well enough so if you haven't read book #3 you'll be OK. Wyatt's friend Sam is the omega in our story. A decade ago he and the alpha Valen had been boyfriends but things had happened and they had split up and that tale is a sad one - no spoiler here. Sam has been working as a cook/chef at Wyatt's drive-up restaurant along with other odd jobs trying to 'get by' in life. He just recently advertised to give cooking lessons.

The alpha Harris has hired him for six lessons for himself and his boyfriend - Valen. So when Sam shows up at the house where they live, there is an 'interesting' getting reacquainted and acquainted scene in the kitchen that involves all three and the kitchen counter. Suffice it to say no lessons happen the first night, at least cooking lessons.

The relationship develops with its ups and downs of daily life for a while and all three are becoming committed to each other. Both Harris and Valen are firefighters and at one devastating fire Valen goes into a heavily burning building because he hears a child crying. Harris, as Leader, sends someone in after him when he's been in too long and he has been injured. While Valen recuperates in the hospital for a week, Sam and Harris get a chance to have some time together when not visiting Valen. During this time each alpha thinks they should back off and let the other be the alpha in the typical alpha/omega pair. Of course, the omega Sam disagrees.

There follows some pregnancy challenges, a break up where each man wants what he thinks is best for the other two, sad reminiscing of two previous pregnancies, the wedding of Wyatt and Raph, a robbery or two, and the successful birth of Sam's son Landon.

This is a long book, but there is so much story that I don't think you'll find yourself thinking it's too long. In fact, I was ready for a few more pages in the epilogue, but it got the job done. I had already read the previous series books, but I don't think you need to read them first. This title can stand on its own.

Continuing the saga of the Men of Meadowfall, the story deals with Sam, who is known in the other books as Wyatt's best friend and cook, and his relationship with two gorgeous alphas, Valen and Harris. Sam is a gentle omega, with a sweet demeanor but a steel core, who tries to live his life as well as he can, even though he's lonely and secretly wishes he could find love and have children, like the other omegas he knows. After a serendipitous encounter, he reunites with Valen, his former beloved alpha, with whom he broke up because he realized Valen was immature and not ready for a real commitment, despite the strength of their love. Even more surprising is the fact that Valen is involved in a taboo relationship with another alpha, Harris, and though Valen is completely commited and in love with Harris, the older alpha doesn't want to admit his feelings for the younger alpha. The book explores the complications of having more than two partners in a relationship, the jealousies and insecurities that come from age and financial status differences and miscommunications, as Valen always feels like a lesser alpha when he compares himself to Harris, and Harris himself feels insecure because he's older than Valen and Sam, while the omega feels insecure in his connection with both alphas, because he feels like he's interfering with their already established relationship as a couple. At times, I got frustrated with all the main characters, because they seemed to make trouble for themselves unnecessarily. It was a cycle of miscommunication through good intentions, in which each man hurt another man, while trying to do good, and it just made me want to knock their heads together, and it made the pace of the story slow down. Otherwise, I very much liked it, both alphas are very loving and considerate in their own ways, and Sam is a very lovable person. Having the love and attention of two gorgeous men who love sharing is the ultimate fantasy, and I'm glad Sam gets his happily ever after. Some reviewers mention that there was a lot of sex, but I personally don't see the downside, it was very exciting and well written and it makes sense that the characters would enjoy themselves a lot since they are healthy, grown men. I loved it! Overall, it is a lovely addition to the series, and yes, it does bog down at times, but it is enjoyable and romantic and utterly delicious.

I heard about this throuple when I read the Meadowfall Firefighters series and wanted to read their story. I should've known I would have a problem with them considering Sam was barely mentioned in that series. From my collection it was only Valen and Harris who made appearances. This just proves how unimportant Sam was.

I am honestly so frustrated and disappointed with this pairing. I got so sick and tired of the alphas feeling inferior, being over dramatic, and pushing Sam towards the other alpha. The only person I truly felt bad for was Sam. Throughout the whole book, all Valen and Harris did was fight and run from each other without considering Sam's feeling.

Valen was an empty shell when it came to his feelings for Sam. He claimed to love him but it was all infatuation. He fought harder for Harris than he ever did for Sam. Sam was often forgotten. I hated how he never made up/grovel for his mistake. He was sorry for two seconds and then moved on. He didn't even bother to learn and prepare for Sam's pregnancy. It's frustrating how you can clearly see that how he loved Harris more. He let Sam walk away twice because he couldn't make a commitment but that was never the case for Harris. Harris was always the center of his world and Sam was just an afterthought. One final thing, Valen is selfish, self centered, immature, and a weak excuse of an alpha.

I am disappointed with Harris and Sam's progress/relationship. It seemed like they had a connection/spark at the beggining but that died instantly. I hated how he put a wall up against Sam simply because he was an omega. It was so unfair to Sam. It was kind of hypocritical, too. He claimed to be with Valen since he was an alpha and it would be easier to be with him than an omega but it was clearly because he loved Valen enough to be with him. I never felt like he wanted to make any sacrifice for Sam or truly loved him. It's like he only liked Sam because he was having Valen's baby. I hated how this book was basically about the alphas and their stupid stuggle/love for each other. Sam was unfortunately an outsider/third wheel and just living in their world.

My heart goes out to Sam. I wished he had a stronger backbone and more pride. I wished he had made the alphas work for his love. It's like Sam didn't feel deserving enough so he was willing to take anything he could get. He was way too nice and forgave the alphas way too easily. He deserved so much better.

Harris, Valen et Sam

2 Alpha, 1 oméga.
2 Pompiers, 1 cuisinier Pro.

Enfants : Landon , x , x

.
.

Well, I got sucked into this one...

This is an omegaverse mpreg story. Harris is 49 years old and is an Officer at the local Fire Station. He is involved with the Fire Chief's son, Valen, who is 20 years his junior. Both being Alpha's this is often frowned upon, so keeping their relationship from Valen's abusive Father is number one priority. Sam, was Valen's omega and left him at 18 when he found out he was pregnant and then lost the baby. Ten years later, Harris unsuspectingly hires Sam to teach him and Valen basic cookery skills and lets just say the heat in the kitchen is not down to the evening meal....and then we have a bun in the oven....

Each of them has issues, either from the past or their situations or even dealing with the present time - age difference, suitability as a mate and worthiness of the relationship being just a few of the worries. The angst and miscommunication amongst the three of them seemed to fester, situations were talked about without any real words, each man struggling with their feelings. Assurances often rang hollow and were they "really" listening to each other?? It drove me crazy!!

The last third of the book, after the big blip and some serious grappling, they FINALLY got their heads into gear and realised they worked best as a "thruple" the story then moved swiftly and it was less like wading through treacle. The ending was sweet and left me tooth-achingly content.

Overall, entertaining read.

Your alpha ex lives with a hot alpha & they both want you. What's an omega to do!

What a great addition to the Men of Meadowfall series. This world is vibrant, the characters come alive. I was fully caught up in their lives. Old friends are back. Danger is part of the job. And the love between the three of them is unconventional. Deep set fears surface. How can they survive? I loved this book!
Sam is struggling. When he books cooking lessons for an alpha, he gets way more than he bargained for. The alpha is in a relationship with another alpha, who just happens to be Sam's ex. To complicate matters, Sam is in heat. When Harris signs up to cooking lessons he never expects the teacher to be such a hot omega. Finding out he is Valen's ex is a surprise. They offer to share Sam's heat. Once Sam agrees, everything changes.
Valen must face his commitment phobia. Harris must face his fear of losing another omega, and dying before the men he loves. And Sam has to face his fear of losing another baby. Come. Join them on their journey to HEA. You will love this book!
Triggers: a past miscarriage is dealt with, sensitively. There is also reference to a death during childbirth. There is also violence due to robbery attacks. I was in no way offended by any of these subjects.
If you haven't read the rest of the series, I recommend doing so. It will be time well spent.

Why shouldn’t they pair up with whom they like? HOT story with an answer.
In this world of alphas, omegas and betas each has a function, one of which is that alphas pair up with omegas and omegas have the babies. The gender of the alpha or omega is almost irrelevant. What if there are more than two though? There are so many taboos: age differences, alpha with alpha and multiple partners. So many pasts to overcome or forget.
In this story we meet Sam an omega who is trying to make some extra money by giving cooking lessons at the client’s home. On this evening he goes to Harris’ home or should we say mansion? Harris is an alpha, 49yo but most importantly, secretly living with his lover, Valen, a 29yo male alpha, both of whom are firefighters…at the same station…where Valen’s father is the Chief! Alphas DO NOT pair up with one another. Oh My Gosh the kitchen scene when Sam and Valen meet up again…OH, did I not say that Sam and Valen had been lovers until their break up about ten years before?
So many secrets, so many questions, so much angst…maybe a little too much angst for me, but I still couldn’t read fast enough to see if Sam, Harris and Valen got their HEA. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it is recommended for those who like finding love in unexpected ways. Must like descriptive (wink) M/M and M/M/M love.

I received an ARC edition of this book from the author.

I'm not a big fan of second-chance romance or May/December romance and menage is very hit or miss. But I really liked this story.

Working out a romance between three people (and adding in the stigma with two alphas together) is not an easy journey, and this story actually deals with a lot of the difficulties of negotiating the romance. There isn't a quick easy fix and the characters don't magically all fit together. They each have a lot of baggage that needs to be worked out, and I feel like this story actually shows the characters growing together to get their HEA. There were still plenty of moments that made me want to just lock them in a room and tell them to work it out already!

I thought the balance between dealing with the re-connection between Valen and Sam and then the newer relationship of Sam and Harris was very nicely done. The parts are with Valen and Harris together add a certain tension to the story, they had a really great chemistry but still had to get past so many misconceptions. But I have to say my favorite parts are all three of them together, it was nice to see how all together they really helped each other fill the missing pieces.

This is an interesting book for me as I don't read M/M/M books very often but I really enjoyed this one. I wanted to read Sam's story as I loved him in the previous book and I wasn't disappointed. It is well-written, has a lot of angst and misunderstandings, a second chance at love for Sam and Valen and a lot of hot sex. Harris, Valen and Sam are all very different but they each bring something special and necessary to their relationship. I love seeing two alphas together and how adding an omega to the mix made their relationship better in many ways. Sam and Valen do not care that Harris is much older than them but he can't seem to get past it. The biggest obstacle for all of them is that none of them can see their own worth and how much they need each other. Their lack of communication and inability to ask each other for what they need could tear them apart forever as they can only be happy if all three of them are together. It was great to catch up with the characters from the previous book as well and I look forward to reading more books in this entertaining series.
I was given an ARC to review by the author.

The 4th book in the series, “Men of Meadowfall” keeps things very interesting. I was glad that the baby was Valen’s because I just had a soft spot for the crazy guy and both him and Sam had a relationship before. Harris was great as the older lover in the threesome and the love was equal all around.

I love all of Anna Wineheart’s books and this is an excellent addition to a wonderful series. Each lover has their own set of issues they brought to the relationship and Sam needed love the most to me. Everyone needed to hear the other loved them and Valen, even being an alpha needed to hear it from Harris. Harris had the problem with being older then both Valen and Sam, but Sam was just so good and kind at accepting Harris as his alpha.

It’s a very touching story of starting over, learning to trust and love and I feel anyone one would enjoy the book. It could be read alone, but it has characters from the previous book involved. I highly recommend it. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced read copy of this book.

I am reading this series a little out of order. That is because I needed a book with a baby on the cover to fulfill a scavenger hunt category. I never usually do that, but the description of this book just caught my eye as soon as I read it. It sounded like something that would be a good fit.

I enjoyed reading the book for the most part. I didn't mind the angst and loved the main characters. I do have to admit liking both menage and mpreg books though. So, some people may find that this book doesn't fit them based on either of those genres.

The biggest thing that I didn't like about the book was the amount of sex. I think sometimes books can have too much to the point that it starts making the book become boring. This book bordered on that. I want storyline with a little hot sex instead of sex with a little storyline.

Anyways, the storyline still managed to keep my attention enough that it made me want to go back and read the first three books in the series. I have a suspicion that I am missing some returning characters and stuff. I am interested in what they are.

*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*

Two Alphas and an Omega - the title says it all so I won’t recap the story because I think the blurb speaks for itself.

Anna’s latest book completely blew me away. This book was a good length, it didn’t drag or get boring and the characters were developed exceptionally well.

Sam is alone and broken yet he pushes himself everyday, never giving up on life despite what’s happened in the past. I adored Sam - he was sweet, shy with a beautiful heart and personality to match.

Harris is an alpha well past his prime but being with Valen makes him feel alive and young. Add an omega to the mix and Harris finds himself feeling insecure about his age. Will he let his fears and insecurities ruin the true happiness he’s found?

Valen was funny, crude and always had sex on the mind. His own insecurities stem from his childhood but can he overcome them to have a happy future?

Sam, Harris and Valen had phenomenal chemistry. Valen made me laugh with his jokes, banter and flirting. Harris was the serious one but he balanced out their relationship. The author captured the characters emotions, fears and insecurities perfectly.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

After reading Omega's Stepbrother, I was waiting and hoping to one day see Sam get his happy ever after. In this book he got that and more. Your heartaches for all that Sam, Valen, and Harris go through but, oh my, how it makes them stronger. With three different personalities there was a lot of working through things going on to make their triad work. Valen an Alpha that is rough around the edges, has a past with Sam and kinda needs to grow up a little more into his role as an Alpha. Harris the older Alpha that has had a sad past that Sam only knows too well about. He is stable, well liked and has such a big heart. Sam the soft spoken omega that has endured such loss yet keeps his head up and moving along. This was a wonderful story that sucks you in holds you even after the book is done.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book and am giving an honest review.

I received an ARC from the author. She also wrote 'The Wizard by the Sea,' which is one of my most favorite books of all time!

This is a romantic tale fraught with misunderstandings and selfless acts which almost tear this menage apart!

Two alphas and an omega, who have doubts about their own worth and their role in the relationship, are also dealing with parental issues and work place discord.

Since this is a paranormal, the norms we may be used to accepting are not in place; so some of the ideas are surprising and tantalizing at the same time.

The plot is fast paced and the romantic encounters beautifully written.

If you enjoy strong men with less than perfect ways of solving problems, (i.e. they don't talk to each other enough), you'll love this book!

After his omega died, Harrison became determined to never let someone back into his heart. After his childhood, Valen was determined that he would never bond and marry. After loosing his alpha, Sam was determined to spend his life alone. One cooking class brings them together. Will Harrison be able to overcome the age difference? Will Valen be able to see that he is worth something? Will Sam be able to let the past go?

Loved the dynamics of this book. The big part I enjoyed is each person brought something into the relationship and they were able to balance each other out. I felt that each person's feelings and reactions were justified due to their past, but was happy when they bonded together to overcome it. Great read!
