This was a pretty good read... It started with lots drama and read at a nice fast steady pace... Had some Dom/sub going on... Shady women and men fighting feelings... and some women that went through a lot and are now stronger then before...
I love Storm... I hate to see what she went through being in love with Play who was no good... He cheated but felt that because he was doing wrong so was Storm and he took his jealousy out on her... I hate that she stayed and put up with him for so long... Especially after the big loss she went through... I am so glad that she had her best friend Aboya... This was her sister that was the most amazing loving person that Storm had that helped her in all ways... If it was not for Aboya and her family, I don't know where Storm would be especially with raising Rain... All was going good while Storm was living with Aboya... She didn't have to worry about bills... But she hated not being able to contribute... But Aboya would not hear of it because she had a really good job making a lot of money so she just wanted Storm to focus on building herself up to get on her feet for herself and Rain... But one night when Storm quits her job at the movie theater... She finds out what Aboya does and becomes intrigued... This is where her life begins to change...
Aboya is a great friend to Storm... She has a job that she is nervous to tell anyone about... Even her best friend because she felt like she would be judged... But once she finally let it be know what she does she felt more free and comfortable... Her and her boss Canton have a strong attraction to eachother but do everything in their power to fight it... Well with one favor that Aboya stepped in to help Canton out with leads him to see even more of what he likes in her... Yet being stubborn caused him to be rude and they both would not let that wall down... Just when there seems to be a shift in their relationship... Here goes that wall... but just as quickly realization sets in and Canton has to let it be known and now... Looks like these two may have finally gotten it together... But he left a lot of baggage sitting around... Will they be able to settle into a good life or will the past and loose ends shut it all down before they can really find their happiness...
Damon is Canton's brother and partner... He is a really good guy and he takes very good care of all his employees... He is married to a woman named Zoe that I can not stand... They are an odd couple to me... She thinks everyone is below her and like she does no wrong, while Damon is always trying to help others and does not think less of them... She thinks that Damon would never leave her because of how she looks and what she does for him... She is so confident in her position... That is until Damon met Storm at the company party and hired her for him and his wife... This is when she started to see a different side to her husband... Now she is being all sneaky and moving funny... She is hiding something but not sure what... And with her trying to hide her secret and being jealous of Storm she comes up with the biggest lie ever to her husband...
Storm and Damon have a connection that they cannot explain... Yet they stay respectful of his marriage to Zoe... it is really hard because each day and interaction build up this connection more and more... Until finally Storm tries to put a stop to it... But Damon does not want that... But when Zoe lies to him he decides to cut off all interaction... This is a big hit to both of them...
Just when Storm is trying to now figure things out again... Her past presents itself to her doorstep and now she is fear for her and her child's life... How did this happen...
Will Zoe get caught up in own web of lies... If so will she lose everything she has been working so hard to hold on to... Will Damon see the truth and go after the woman that he really loves or will he be stuck with Zoe forever... Will Stirm and Rain be okay or is their life really in danger... This was an ok intro so far and truly not at all good...
This was not what I expected to be reading but as always, 1) I always give the benefit of the doubt and 2) when an author is good, it's very hard not to see their vision through until the end without any judging.
Storm man, she was dealt so much since that fateful day that right now anything remotely different she will take and that's what has me looking sideways to this intro. It doesn't feels right or good at all.
Damon man is on another dimension and for some one priding himself to be so attune or so a tune to his businesses and home, he does look dumb as all. I mean come on, you supposed to be this big bad boy and you don't get nothing but have your wife and sharing her and all, nopes not feeling it.
Now canton is the BAE do this book, even though Damon and Storm are the main character and all. He is everything a book boyfriend needs to be for the reader, to be wishing and escaping. Charm, swag and ruthless is all wrapped around this fine specimen and I just wish he does move up to be the main hero in this story.
Aboya, girl I like you but I think you should be for Damon more than Canton and Storm should be for Canton because baby girl, you are doing it.
This is a somewhat twisted and confusing story and I do hope it does change and gets better because this saddistic way Damon/Zoe/Storm is so not my cup of tea while the light BDSM of Canton is exactly what a book could use.
In any case I will reserved my full review for the end and until I have given my undecided attention to all three books, but man Storm needs to woman up and put her foot down and assert herself as the only thing a man would want and there is no sharing, ever...

I was hoping that Play didn't show up after Storm got her life together n raising Rain. How the hell did he find her after all this time. Man her n Damon just broke it off whose gonna protect her n Rain now. I'm so glad that Aoyama n Canton stopped playing games wit each other. They make a cute couple. I can't wait till Zoe gets caught up in her lies cuz Damon is going to be really pissed off. Great job mama! This was fire right here! 🔥🔥🔥🔥

Thank goodness I was wrong, I love the friendship/sisterhood between Storm and Aboya. The Hayes brothers are nothing to ply with. That cliffhanger was unbelievable sheesh. Why you do that to us. Omg this book was great. It’s a different read than my usuals but it was good and refreshing. The storyline was amazing. The characters kept you guessing what was to happen next. You did a great job waiting for part 2

See I knew Storm was going to be the one who ended up hurt. What they have is so forbidden but it's true. Play should have stayed away but I do hope he changed his ways. Canton better not play Aboya. I can only imagine the drama Zoe and her dizzy sister about to cause.

Loved it.
I gave taken a liking to this BDSM stories and I loved how it was mixed in. Now I need to know what Zoe going to do cause she not pregnant. Storm is shook cause her baby daddy has popped up. Hopefully he on the up and up or else. I am to happy for Canton and Aboya to get together.

Great story line
I loved the story and the story line. My favorite character was Canton, his development was great. I won't spoil the story, I will say the characters were relatable and enjoyable. I can't wait for Zoe's world to blow up in her face. Excellent work looking forward to continuing this series

Better than expected
I loved this book, I'll admit that I almost stopped reading it because I assumed the typical "Thug Love" plot but I was wrong. The story kept me interested and it flowed well and I connected with the characters. Can't wait for part 2
