3/5 I read this after hearing how graphic and violent it is both in gore and in sexuality. I know I am a horror loving degenerate so I expect a little backlash from people when I read depraved shit. This is depraved shit. This is torture porn and borderline porn porn. If that's not for you, and I'm sure it's not for most people, just stay clear.

Healers in the world of Redo of Healer are generally looked down upon weaklings. Keyaru is an abused healer for the strongest team in the world sent to stop the demon lord. He is abused, raped, and kept drugged. After the final confrontation with the demon lord Keyaru develops a skill, drug resistance. Free from his fugue he assists with slaying the demon lord and receives a magical item. He then uses this time to go back in time four years to get revenge on his teammates who've been torturing him this whole time.

The writing isn't great but I thought it was fun "degenerate". Keyaru goes back in time and starts his master plan. For those of you that are squeamish this involves him raping and torturing them. The artwork while rather graphic is not pornographic, at least up to this point.

I hear the anime is just as bad so I may have to give that a watch eventually.

There is no official English release so I had to read fan translations

SPOILERS AHEAD: Redo of Healer is a novel about a man who seeks to get revenge on a guild that has mistreated him in the beginning. This manga has incredible art style that is very clean and expressive throughout. I really enjoyed seeing the character faces and even body language as the manga went on, this particular series giving everyone the crooked sadistic eyes even varying bodilly proportions.

The story is slightly above average for its genre, it has a very good pace that is not too slow enough to get to the exciting parts. The manga is slowly getting darker with acts performed as time goes on. The only complaint is sometimes some of the women felt too trope heavy and added in too quickly. I was perfectly fine with the first 2 women being there for awhile. But the demoness could have been skipped and then Norn should have been added at the most proper pacing. Norn is probably my favorite now. I wouldn't mind if she was the main focus from here on out. I will finish the series, when more is released. I will be back to work more on this review.

Some time ago I watched the anime and it left a lasting impression, so even though the manga is still ongoing I wanted to read it when I stumbled upon a mention of it. I have to say... honestly, it's pretty bad.
The MC has his own harem and is really into torture and rape because of his traumatic past. All the sexual and torture scenes are short (sadly), but there are a lot. The characters aren't fleshed out and the story could be really interesting, but falls flat. The style is generic and boring.
Nonetheless, I found it entertaining. I already knew the story before I started reading, which meant I could thankfully skim over many parts, otherwise I probably wouldn't have liked it at all.

RECENSIONE DEL BLOG CODEX LUDUS
Ciao a tutti,

Redo of Healer volume 1 è il manga in questione.

I love a good revenge story and if your stomach is strong and you don't have triggers this is as good an anime to sink your claws into as any other to get that fix. Began reading this when the anime aired, but didn't want to spoil the anime so I dropped it, finished the anime's first season (which I HIGHLY recommend as the art is fabulous), then picked this back up. The artwork is beautiful, and the pace clips along at a pretty good rate. This volume is definitely good fast little binge read on rainy day when life (and other people) have truly pissed you off.

I liked it, but somehow the anime has more content? But the manga has immaculate art!

Trigger warnings: Rape. Sexual violence, torture, assaults, graphic violence.

Yeh this is not a series for everyone and is definately not recommended for those who struggle with the darker side of literature. It is an interesting tale of magic, time reversal and revenge but definately full of the more depraved side of human nature. It is an antidote for me to the happy ever after romances and the more cheerful books but even then there are sections of the series I am finding done distastefully.

Okay, I actually finished this a while ago, but needed time to process.

So, like, I’m guessing, most of the people that picked this up, I was intrigued by the level of controversy and after watching Goblin Slayer, figured nothing could really top that.

Yeah....

First of all, let me be clear: this is not Shield Hero or Dexter or any other show about a “bad guy with a heart of gold” clique. This is a story about a victim of abuse that has had all compassion, empathy, and humanity ripped from his soul and his only way of coping with what he’s been through is to get revenge by doing to his abusers what was done to him. There is no redemption arch or anything below the surface. It is all just surface. The main character is a bad guy and not only does he know he’s a bad guy, he does not care. Like I said, if you’re looking for more beyond that, this is not the story for you.

Now, all that being said, is this a bad story? In my opinion, no. It’s a disturbingly real depiction of very disturbingly real abuse and the results thereof. In a way, it’s kinda like Tiger King: you’re not really there to root for anybody but you just gotta see what happens next.

Do I want to see him get his revenge? Eh.... that’s kinda like asking me which section of the Human Centipede I wanna be—ideally none but there is the obvious “better” option out of a list of terrible choices.

Will I watch the anime? Eventually, maybe. But I already know there’s at least one scene that I’m leaving the room when it comes on.

(Not gonna lie, his reaction to the second Demon Bird Trial was pretty damn funny. Seriously, no redeeming qualities)
