I was born in Montreal, Canada, at a very young age, where I still live with my spouse, Joanne, under the watchful eye of Krystalle and Midnight, two black females of the feline persuasion. In a former life, I completed my studies at McGill University and worked in various management capacities for a handful of firms for countless years. From there, considering my extensive background in human resources and finance, it was a logical leap in my career path to stay home and write crime thrillers.
My first stab at writing was actually in 1995, the result being my first novel, "Vigilante". Two others of the same series followed by 1997 but all three remained dormant until publication in 2009. Since, besides writing a stand-alone, five other thrillers have joined the VIGILANTE series. I also penned "Something's Cooking", a faux-erotica parody and cookbook under the pseudonyms Réal E. Hotte and Dasha Sugah. I'm currently working on "See You in Saigon" and "The First Sixteen", two further installments of my series. I have to say, I'm enjoying this writing gig.
Other interests besides writing and subtly persuading people to buy my books include reading, making noise with my six guitars, painting (oil and watercolour), cooking (year round though I love the grill in the summer), traveling and planning to work out soon. I've also been known to sleep on occasion.

I love this series of books the author has written. Suspenseful, exciting, with so many interesting plots and characters that once I open one I have to keep reading until I finish! A new person finds himself in contact with some very unsettling folks after his mother is taken because a group is looking for her ex. He is also Carlos' father, but has had no contact with his son or ex-wife for years. Carlos goes to his uncle, Chris, unknown to him a member of a 'special' team. Wild action as there is fighting between criminals, and positive Intel received by the Team. A totally enjoyable read as you are brought through different locations, listen to the thoughts of those after Carlos' father and watch the actions of a young man new to this type of problem.
If you are an avid reader of Bouchard’s Vigilante series, which you probably are, you might think he is starting a new series as you begin to read this one. No familiar names. We have a dude who is a super hacker within the dark web. He sets up sites that allow other people to pirate digital media. Stealing would be a good word. He hooks up with the grand poopa of the dark web. Sort of a job interview. Turns out that this is Chris and the beginning of the book is mostly comic relief, before we get to the meat of the story. Chris’ nephew, Carlos shows up. His mom, Chris’s sister has been kidnapped. Her ex-husband has stolen from the mob and they are not too happy about it. Thus begins the very well designed plot to get her back and find Carlos’ father. It probably isn’t a Spoiler to tell you that the bad guys do not fare well. Lots of good times and sad times too. All packed in to one book!
"Vigilante #14: The Nephew" by Claude Bouchard is a gripping crime thriller in the acclaimed VIGILANTE Series. The story centers around Chris Barry, a millionaire and government operative, who is stunned to discover that his sister Donna, presumed dead for over forty years, is alive but has been kidnapped by the ruthless MS-13 gang. Donna’s abduction is tied to her ex-husband's disappearance with the gang’s cash and cocaine. When Carlos Garcia, the nephew Chris never knew he had, appears with this troubling news and a plea for help, Chris is propelled into action. With the support of his Discreet Activities colleagues, Chris embarks on a perilous mission to rescue his sister and exact revenge on her captors. The novel delivers high-stakes suspense, intricate plotting, and a compelling exploration of vigilante justice, making it a standout addition to the series.
Still wondering about the first chapter - though interesting, it seemed to have nothing to do with the rest of the story! The 'team' comes together to go up against a notorious drug gang. Their many skills and resources come into play in this fast-paced read. I can't believe I've binge-read all 14 (so far) in the Vigilante series! Yes, they're binge-worthy!
I like the vigilante series and have read them all. Each seem to get better and better. This one had one outcome I hated.———————-//—SPOILER——————///——I would have loved to see a reunion between Chris and Donna. I wish the author hadn’t killed her before they met and got caught up on the 40 lost years. But I hope he include more of the nephew getting to know his uncle in future books.
Oh do I like this Vigilante series from Claude Bouchard! The only small bug is that I continue to found them smaller and smaller because the plot is quite amazing and the way the author used all the characters keep you on the edge of pages turning faster and faster! Thanks to the author to share his great talent and just can’t wait for the next one!!
I have enjoyed everyone of Claude Boucharrd's books, this was no exception. The Nephew provides a look at the personal side of our hero Chris, but the introduction of this new player also changes the playing field, giving the possibility of new and different storylines. Looking forward to further adventures from tbh is series.
