Blacker The Berry: Ariana and Deuce

Rate this book
Before Ariana was born, her father broke her mother’s heart, causing her mother to turn her hatred on her. After the death of her grandmother at five-years-old, Ariana was forced to live with her mother who gave her up at birth. Since that day, Ariana dreamed of having the perfect family. She was forced to watch from the sidelines as her mom started a new family that did not include her. She was living a true Cinderella story, hoping that someone would come and save her. From the first time he saw her, Deuce had been in love with Ariana. After receiving advice from his brothers, Deuce decided not to pursue her although everything in him was telling him that that was the wrong decision. That never stopped him from being there for her when she needed help. From the sidelines, he dealt with anyone who caused her problems. He didn’t know the demons she fought with at home though. He hardly understood the demons he faced within themselves. Can Deuce save her while also trying to save himself? Or, will the many problems they face be too much for two people to handle?

Bravo, Bravo 👏

I have to say, Avalon I was a little hesitant on continuing reading this book, because similar things happen to me as well, as a dark-skinned adolescent and I felt emotional. The taunting, teasing and the bullying I dealt with even into adulthood was horrible so I can just imagine how Ariana felt. One thing I can say is that I'm glad God bless me with a loving and wise mother who was very supportive including sponsors, family and friends. In the beginning It started off with things that bothered me as a human being first and second as a mom. I cannot fathom what will possess a mother to harm their child or allow someone else to harm their child. I'm just glad Ariana stayed strong and found someone in Deuce to love and cherish her unconditionally. Great Ending! 👍ReneeG

AMAZING!!!

OMG! This book was amazing. The love Duece had for Arianna was heart felt. Her mom and stepdad needed more than just jail time. I was hoping that they got their added whipped. Even though this is a fiction book it's people in the real world who is cruel and a bully. Having a good support system always needed.

I freaking loved this book.

Duece is bae all day. He wanted Ari and stopped at nothing to get her. Brielle was certainly the devil herself. Cody got his just deserve also. Its a shame how this issue occurs in real life so much. So glad the author wrote this book. Good job on shedding light on such a sensitive but real issue. Loved it from beginning to end.

Heart warming and eye opening.

I loved every minute of it. Read it in one day. Im glad it showed the seriousness of bullying and rape. Im also glad that it also showed that with the right help and the willingness of the victim to get help that they can overcome anything and be stronger than ever.

Ariana went through so much in her life. People don't realize how cruel they really are. I'm glad she had Deuce to give her that boost of confidence. Her mom and step dad needed more time especially her mom. I'm glad that everything was looking up for her and she found love. Great job as always.

5 🌟 read

I enjoyed every minute of this book. Ariana had been through so much that you rooted for her happiness. Deuce was the man he came in and made Ariana hold her head high and love herself. This book was well written and the storyline was wonderful.

Love it

This book has a strong meaning behind it. Ari finally learns to love the skin that she's in and how to find your voice

I loved everything about this story! It had me captivated from beginning to the very end. My heart broke for Ariana because she went through what no child should. I hated her whole family and I'm glad in the end they got what they deserved. I have mixed feelings for Nina because I wanted her to do the right thing. FLIP the NDA she signed. However, I still liked her character because she was there when Ariana had no one. I loved Hakeem, Raheem, Shaheem and Kareem along with their mother. I loved the bond they had as a family. Hakeem had his faults but he was the perfect man for Ariana. I was over Tiara and Bianca's whole "I'm better" attitude but I loved Reese. What happened with Germany was childish and he needs to grow up. The ending of the story was sweet and well deserving for both Ariana and Deuce. This was a great standalone story that I will read again and I'm looking forward to more books from this author.
