Remington Kane

Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

Overly simple story. But for me, personally, it filled in several blanks in the Tanner series.

What could possibly top Remington Kane's A TAKEN series or his TANNER series ?!? That would be his A TAKEN/TANNER series !!! Once again, a white knuckle page turner from page 1. Filled with Suspenceful Action. Remington Kane unpredictable twists and turns. The Abduction of Thomas Lawson brings together heroes from most RK's different series. Some characters with dark sides... The gentleman who has overseen missions for, given second chances too and always had their backs-as individuals or together-has been kidnapped. NOTHING will prevent this very mixed, talented group of men and women from bringing him home!!! AND making sure that justice is served!!! Also Punishment!!! As with other RK books readers can enjoy this as a standalone. Much Better as an Entire series!!! One Remington Kane book is NOT enough!!! I received this book as an ARC. I am voluntarily posting this review. Read soonest so that reader can enjoy his other books!!!

Yeah This Was Good!!

Now we know how the man came to be! The writer brings us into the complex world of Thomas Lawson and there are dark roads. With Thomas being abducted, it makes for some strange alliances. These strange bedfellows are friends who come together to bring their friend home. This was not only mystery caliber but there are times when the action is just wow!.Then the chemistry that's created just bounces around and you can really imagine it happening. This excellent writing ,with a storyline that might have been seen but you have not encountered the kind of characters and personalities. This was like a coming together of the best.

The Abduction of Thomas Lawson

The whole gang was here for this one. And they work well as a team. That was an added bonus. The story was typical. The bad guys did something bad and the good guys came in and kicked their butts. I had just finished the Spy Game and this book explained some of what puzzled me in that book. Still haven’t found a Kane book that disappointed me. Recommended.

'The Abduction of Thomas Lawson' kept me glued to the pages. It still baffles me to know that even though this book is fiction, the circumstances that surround Thomas Lawson's abduction within the government are spot on. Sad, but true. So many people want to get to the top and at any expenses. Tanner is the one to balance it out. This book is full of action, creative traps, great characters and a lot of deceit. Definitely a great add to your tbr list. Recommended read.

Taken!

This is a great crossover novel that brings together four of Thomas Lawson's friends as they try to locate and free him after he's abducted. Remington Kane doesn't disappoint with this book, which had me wondering if I would continue to be a fan when it was over. I should never have doubted.

The infamous Thomas Lawson & his FBI Agent girlfriend are ambushed & kidnapped.
Now Lawson's friends are out to get him back! With friends like Tanner, Mr. White, Blue Steele & Jake Caliber the people who have Lawson are in for a very bad day!!
Great book & finally we have the story of how Thomas Lawson came to be.

I read Jane as soon as the books arrive, however this one was weird

I only made it thru the first several chapters but I have one question. Where are Rocky and Bullwinkle? The plot just begs for the introduction of Boris and Natasha.

The abduction of Thomas Lawson

Good thriller though simple in its writing. Very straight forward without a lot of mystery and very little philosophy that added nothing to the story.

Outstanding!

As usual another great story. I don't think he can write a bad story. Every one of his storys has a killer entry and killer plot. A killer ending also helps

So so

Too many players, too rushed at the end. Not completely sure who was bad & what they hoped to gain from it

The story has everything in it. The FBI, the CIA, and other elements which make the story now enjoyable.. The flashbacks provided by the author for the MC's pay is also very good. Excellent read.

Oh my gosh, this book kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. I was so worried they wouldn't get to save Thomas in time for him not to be a vegetable. And having Tanner, Dr White, Jake Caliber and Blue Steele working together was awesome. It cleared up a lot of questions I had about those people.

Good book

Still tending towards confusion. The number of important characters can be reduced by about 30%. Here are 5 more words

No one messes with Tanner's friends! I liked getting to know Lawson's experiences that led him to become THAT person.
