Nothing could've mentally prepared me for this never wrecking volume. The long-awaited meet-up with Noppera-Bo. The Betrayal. The die-hard Survival. New motivation for Revenge. Tons of fast-paced Action. I missed this kind of fun experience in some of the previous volumes. But, this volume stepped up its game. I'm in awe!
My heart can't take this, some much has happened, THE BETRAYAL I didn't see that coming wtf!! I was routing for you!!! Asirpa my poor child she needs protecting (but lowkey doesn't but still). I need to know what happens that was too much to take in!
Prolly the best volume so far😤. Lots of plot developments and twists, some expected and some not. Also the bit of comedy at the end where Sugimoto kept showing people half-naked pictures of Tanigaki had me laughing🤭.
This series just keeps getting better and better😮💨.
I am in pain, this volume hurted me and also it has some of the best comedic scenes I've recently read. Golden Kamuy is one of a kind and I love it with my whole heart. I can't recommend this manga enough.
Beware. Of. Badgers! Good grief, Satoru Noda gets your heart hammering at the start, gives you a moment to catch your breath, then leaves you gasping with laughter before introducing a new animal champion. The photo swapping bits were predictable, but no less hilarious. And, they were a welcome respite from the brutal violence of the first few chapters. Betrayals, trickeration, mendacity, and more shifting alliances rain down like a hail of bullets in this one. The rapidity with which allegiances realign seems a little to contrived, but I can forgive that. The action is drawn so incredibly in this volume. I can’t say it enough, but this is the absolute best ongoing manga!
The interior cover homage to G N’R is priceless (and apropos). Welcome to the jungle, baby. Yer gonna’ DIEEEEEEEEEE!
Wow—what a rollercoaster of a volume! I gasped, laughed out loud, and honestly lost track of how many times I found myself thinking WTF while reading. This volume is packed with action, surprising twists, and character growth, all while moving the plot forward at just the right pace. It struck that perfect balance that kept me completely hooked from start to finish.
I’m constantly amazed by how Noda masterfully shifts between intense, gripping moments and lighthearted humor, all without ever missing a beat. His ability to seamlessly flip the tone from serious to downright hilarious is truly impressive. Sure, there are moments where the plot armor feels a bit too convenient, but honestly, it’s easy to overlook because the story is just so much fun to read. I’m eager to see what wild turn the story will take next.
Boy, five stars for Hijikata alone. Now I am reading Battle of Hakodate wikipedia and just realized why Hijikata's background card on FGO was Goryoukaku.
You are afraid that those warrior will become martyrs, if they are dead, they can not change sides even as histories glorifies them.
Sir, I didn't even know the whole history of those wars but I had known Hijikata since I was so little.
And yes my prediction about Nopera-bo was correct. I am still questioning all these fractions' motives to get the Ainu gold though but I definitely didn't question Tsurumi's lackeys' motives lol.
Some pivotal moments happen here, as well as some crazy plot twists, brutality, outright chaos and action to keep the blood pumping.
Things really hit an all time epic swell as we reach a major apex in the over arching story with some major turning of the tables, serious revelations, dire situations and shifty cliffhangers.
Action packed! Lots of fire power, and huge group fights. This looks to be a turning point for the series, with everyone moving to a new island, Karofuto, where the gild most likely is. Who will be safe? Extremely fast paced this time around.
Umm... shouldn't a certain character have a really prominent facial scar after the events of this volume? Still great stuff, just wondering if anyone else noticed.
A lot of enormous developments in this chapter - the incredible see-saw of allegiances and betrayals continues to spin!! But most importantly, there's a wolverine attack!!!!!!
One of the best volumes so far, if not THE best. The drama, the action, the fantastic grisly artwork. It all worked perfectly together to create a tense, shocking and badass volume.
