Rusty and Sam are now alpha and omega werewolf mates, forming a pack along with Mike. Every night brings the new pack closer to the full moon and Sam's first omega heat, but there's still someone missing...

Nick Bellici is scarred in body and mind from his time in the Marines, and now he's struggling alone with life after war. He's driven away everyone who cares about him—except his best friend Rusty, who won't stop asking him to come to California and meet his new boyfriend.

Rusty Jamison is still learning what it means to have a mate and a pack to take care of as their alpha. Teaching Sam and Mike to handle their new werewolf abilities and navigating the politics of the local werewolf packs keeps Rusty busy, but he can't let go of his hopes to bring his best friend Nick into the pack. That's going to mean finally telling Nick the secret he's been keeping for years.

As the pack's omega, it's up to Sam Hurley to bring them all together. Not so tough when there are only two other werewolves, but when it comes to adding in someone Sam's never met, who's been through things Sam can barely imagine, Sam's newfound abilities will be put to the test. And all the time, Sam's first full moon heat is looming closer...

The Omega's Pack is a m/m (and m/m/m and m/m/m/m) werewolf romance featuring alpha and omega mates leading their pack to a happy ending with plenty of steamy action for everyone!

Let's just get one thing out of the way straight off: if you're at that point in your reading life where the sex just isn't that interesting anymore, and you find yourself bored or even skimming past the sex scenes, then this series definitely isn't for you. But if you're still a dirty birdie, and sticky hot sexy stories are your thang, then look no further than this series!

This book picks up pretty much right where book 1 left off. It's a week later, and Rusty, Sam, and Mike are their own little pack, settled in Sam's home. However, Rusty can't help but think something is missing, and he knows that it's his old military buddy, Nick, who was always pack, even if he didn't know it. Nick's the guy who was injured, who still haunts Rusty, so finally Rusty has to go and get Nick, and save him from himself. And that's pretty much the gist of any plot progression here. Nick has some serious PTSD and depression, and it's up to Rusty, Sam, and Mike to bring him out of it.

And they do that with a werewolf bite and lots of super hot sex!

Once again in spoiler tags for the faint of heart, here is our sex acrobatics list:

Thankfully, for me, at least, this isn't a BDSM type story, so no bondage, no spanking or flogging, and less submission than you'd expect from an omega wolf with two alphas and a beta wolf.

I just can’t anymore. It started of promising, Sam fun aly has sex with the new pack member Mike but quickly goes down hill. Rusty’s parents stop by and Sam starts calling them mom and dad, I don’t know why but I found it uncomfy, and of course the fell in love with perfect little Sam. Also there was some weird macho aloha bullshit going on and quickly lost interest. And then Sam started acting like some 1950’s housewife because of the moon? I don’t know it was weird. Again perfect little Sam is all like oh we have to save your friend Rusty blah blah and I’m only the one who can okay it. Anyways I finally get the a sex scene between all three of them and I can’t even finish and that’s when I knew I had to call quits.

Fabulous Shifter Debauchery!

Well Dessa Lux, you’ve written one of the filthiest, raunchiest, and sex-filled shifter story I have EVER had the PLEASURE of reading. THANK YOU!

I pretty much loved every debauched page of this book. There is a story. And there’s lots of sex. I mean lots. This is shifter porn of the best kind! You see, the sex is connected to the story. It’s unavoidable. There it is. Genius!

So, if gang-bangs (heat driven), knotting, rimming, and cleaning bodily fluids with your tongue don’t get your motor running, then, this is not your book.

But....if you love fantastic NASTY as anything sex, read this now! Well, read the first book first. That one was pornalicious, too!

As a last note, I also want to thank Ms. Lux for enthusiastically describing anew sexual act to me (and I’ve read plenty!). What could I have not possibly read about? Well, here I learned about mouth knotting. Oral knotting....yes, that sounds more proper. Perhaps other authors have written shifter scenes with oral knotting, but I’ve not come across them. Cheers to you for popping my cherry and knotting the stem!!

It came with a side of snark that made it fun too and fun boning is the best boning.

It had more emotional connection than the previous book, but I didn't like some aspects of the shifter world. But I am still liking the plot. Let's wait to find out if there are more books.

A Joyfully Jay review.

I love shifters! I really love it when the shifters live in alpha/beta/omega packs. There is just something about a rough and tumble (but tender) Alpha falling for a smaller, meek (but scrappy) omega. In The Omega’s Pack, the second book in the Protection of the Pack series, we get that in spades. Throw in another Alpha and a damaged new beta, and I’m in shifter heaven.

The four main characters are great. Rusty is a born wolf and a terrific leader. His care and genuine love for his pack mates is very sweet. Sam makes me smile…I mean nonstop smiling, here. He realizes his role of keeping the pack together is an important one, and he does this perfectly. Mike has to adjust to his new reality. He didn’t ask to be bitten. The big, bad wolf in book one did it to get back at Rusty and Sam. After the BBW was vanquished, Rusty re-bit him, saving his life, and making him part of Rusty’s pack. He’s doing well, and he loves being a member of a pack. Nick…poor, poor Nick. He broke my heart. He gave up the will to live after his injury and discharged from the Marines. He and Rusty were so close, and as much as he loves him, Nick thinks Rusty won’t want to have anything to do with him when he sees the scars. When Rusty bites him and brings him to California, he realizes having a pack is exactly what he needs.

My favourite of the series - I love proper H/C and broken heroes (especially with military background), and if I can have that in an ABO shifters book I'm happy as a clam.

This is even better than the first book, probably because the conflict arc is character driven instead of some contrived external threat.

We start with one of the hottest threesome scenes I have read in ages. Rusty and Sam are mates in an open relationship, and the dominant way Rusty leads the sex between Sam and Mike is just *melts**faps**melts some more*

I love the addition of Nick, Rusty's best friend from the Marines. He starts the story as a human broken by an accident involving driving and an IED. He has PTSD, which manifests as panic attacks around cars/four-wheel vehicles as well as crushing depression. He's also heavily scarred and extremely skittish.

Rusty bringing Nick into the pack is the sweetest gesture--giving Nick a support structure to help him heal. There is no insta-therapy. Nick becoming a werewolf doesn't erase the damage, but it allows him to cope with it better. He continues to deal with his depression and anxiety (and a low sex drive), but he's got people around him who understand, give him space, and nudge him without overstepping bounds. Nick gets his shining moment when he helps Rusty during a minor dispute over pack territory, and I just want to hug the guy/wolf.

Literally my only gripe is I wish Nick got to bottom for Rusty (or even Mike, considering their chemistry). Nick is a Beta, so I was hoping for a versatile scene considering it's a given that he'll eventually top Sam. Alas, no such luck (I'm being a greedy bastard at this point because I was also hoping for Sam getting double-penetrated... which UGH that scene with the toy was such a tease).

The latter part of the story focuses heavily on Sam dealing with his first heat. It's a whole lot of Rusty and Mike topping him, with Nick being okay providing auxiliary pleasure. There is a lot of cum. I have no fucking clue how that much semen is even produced. Sam deep-throats Nick's knot at one point. There's a minor case of lactation. I am drowning in a sea of smut. The book ends with satisfied smiles. I am off to read the third installment like the addict that I am.

Better world building along with the sex

There's a ridiculous amount of sex in this book but unlike book one, there's also much more of an actual story to hang it on.

In this the fledgling pack goes off to rescue Rusty's best mate and former Marine buddy Nick, who is alone and suffering from PTSD, aimless and floating in a sea of despondency.

Rusty (and believe me I find it hard to take anyone seriously with that name) however won't give up on his friend and eventually brings him back to their California home and turns h I'll m into a werewolf.

Sam's approaching his first time in heat and there's a huge scene of constant sex which should be more arousing than it is but it's well done to keep things so clear as to what's going on between all four men.

There's not much else goes on protease apart from a few punk pass puppy werewolves trying it on we with the new pack and quickly learning the error of their ways.

The Omega’s Pack is the second book in The Protection of the Pack series. Rusty, Sam and Mike return and there’s a new addition, Nick Bellici, who was badly injured while serving in the Marines. This story is told in third person in each of the MCs povs.

I really enjoyed this book. The pack dynamics are so different here than in any of the other books I've read. The pack, for now, is small with 4 members and they are all so affectionate with one another outside of sex. I liked that there was not a lot of external conflict in this one, it's all about the characters. And the smut. Oh my god there's smut. I didn't expect it to take up so much of the book but it was... inventive. I love when characters are affectionate with each other, and the devil is really in the details. For instance, Rusty sticking a finger in Sam's mouth to make sure he can breathe when a certain something gets stuck in there. I don't know why but I really like it when authors show us the little things that maybe don't seem like a big deal, but show just how much they care for each other.

3.5 stars.. This wasn't as good as the first book in this series. Rusty and Sam great together, and their pack are getting bigger with the addition of Nick. Great sexy scenes but i thought it was a bit slow on the storyline.
Nick was best freinds with Rusty from their military days but Rusty lived California with his boyfriend Sam now.  Nick lived in Indiana and pretended he was okay to Rusty but he wasn't at all. Good days and bad days he coped, his service days played with him still. .Rusty holds a big sercet from Nick but I'd recon its gonna be opened up soon.
Rusty was an alpha werewolf who'd mated and bitten his omega Sam. Sam's Alpha is Mike and a freind of Rusty's.
Things were set to get intresting when the moons phases change for then as new pack.

I really don't understand Rusty and Nick's relationship. They claim there's nothing between them but they were clearly sexually attracted to each other. I mean they've basically had s** before and after becoming packmates. I didn't like that Rusty was fussing over Nick and wanted him to join the pack so much. He almost made it seem like Nick was more special than Sam and Mike and that he only started a pack with Sam so he can be packmates with Nick.

I feel really bad for Mike. It was like he was non existent within the pack. He just floated in and out of the story and was basically only wanted when Sam had sexual needs.

This book focuses on finding Nick and bringing him into the pack. This story includes meeting Rusty’s parents, rogue werewolves challenging the new pack in town, learning to shift from human to wolf and back, and getting through Sam’s first Full-moon heat. LOTS OF KNOTTING

POV... third person

Series or standalone... book 2 in series (suggest reading book 1 but, could be read as a standalone)

Welcome to the Pack

Rating 3.5
In this book we are introduced to Rusty's best friend Nick. Nick has ptsd and rusty and the guys want to bring him in as pack. I really enjoyed how the ptsd was described in this book. It really drew me into the nick character even after he was turned. It did seem to disappear throughout the story sometimes. I also missed Mike in this story he didn't have to much of a story line. Hopefully his character will get more shine in one of the next books because I would like to learn more about this character and what he's feeling.

Why did I buy this? I don't know. It's not that I particularly liked the first one. And I did not particularly like this one. But I was going through a bit of a reading rut, and I guess a mediocre known quantity sounded better than something unknown. I wish I could say I'm not going to read the third one, but I probably will.

Good, but not as good as book 1. I went into it fully expecting lots of sex, but I found myself, dare I say it, skipping through some of the sex to get to more of the story. That's a compliment to how much I am enjoying the world building in the book. Not sure if it's enough for me to keep reading into book 3.

Slutty, smutty, yet I did get the back story I felt missing from the first book. Nick has joined the pack, making it the slutty, smutty foursesome. By the end of the book, I kept thinking, they should burn that mattress. Yet, I still want to read what happens next!
