Let’s not forget the calls about the weather, road conditions, queries about when the electricity will come back on, the raccoons out in the daylight, and a myriad of other calls that are answered daily. You are about to experience some of the most heart-wrenching experiences dispatchers are required to handle. This book is a well-compiled account of the struggles the FIRST first responders may experience or be experiencing and how to counteract some of these feelings. With my recent promotion to be a leader for my peers, I believe this book will have a lasting impact on things to look out for and how to help/be the best leader I can be to maintain the resilience at my PSAP.

Incredible read for anyone!

This book was quite a read and has opened my eyes to so much. The information on these pages is critical to any communications manager, supervisor or trainer. But the information is also great for any dispatcher, first responder or member of the public to understand what our Very First Responders experience in this career and the steps that need to be taken to ensure the resilience of those who choose to serve.

This book had great content for the 911 dispatcher. Lots of references and lots of links to help. There is a ton in this book that can be delved into as a whole or in separate chapters. This is a must read for any 911 dispatcher but should be mandated for any 911 supervisor.

I just started this today and let me tell you I am completely overwhelmed with the information. so much of it validates what I already know and feel but so much more of it explains why I am struggling and why I try so hard to fight for my co workers.

This is a must read for any 911 dispatcher. It really sheds light on the struggles that dispatchers face and how easy it is to be overcome with PTSD. It’s refreshing to hear stories of people overcoming.

This will be a good reference book to have in the comm center. There is a lot of good information in it.
It could have used a brutal editing. I don't care much for the style that it is written in. Way too much fluff.
