💕Max and Abby, are you ready to let bygones be bygones?🚤

A good second chance 💚romance with intrigue and a touching look at the ravages of Alzheimer's on family. No graphic steam, but🚤 cruise owner Max and his high school 💓 heartthrob Abby have an intense connection that they've consciously put on the backburner for 13 years through mutual avoidance. Max has a family that is not averse to a little manipulation (all in the name of love and happiness) and that's how their carefully choreographed distancing ends and dormant romance reblooms.

I liked the way author Milan Watson used changing POVs to bring us each main character's thoughts and perspective, including the mysterious thief who entered Abby's life in search of his next treasure. In fact, the thief provided an exciting twist and subplot to Max and Abby's romance. When his identity was finally revealed, I was totally surprised!

And, what's a good second chance romance without some obstacles and misunderstandings to overcome. Blame it on youthful bad choices, but this couple had some trust issues that just kept resurfacing. Abby was a sympathetic character all along with her steadfast devotion to and sacrifice for the grandfather who raised her. It took me a while to warm up to man-about-town Max, but I got there in the end.

The story, though part of a series about the romantic pairings of Susan and Mac Sullivan's adult children, is perfectly fine as a standalone, but it did whet my curiosity about what's in store for singleton Liz, Max's only sister. (Probably the next novel In the series!)

In sum, an enjoyable story with romance, intrigue, tender moments, some angst and suspected betrayals, and a satisfying conclusion. Made me want to check out North Carolina's Cape Fear area, too!:-)

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Summer Loving by Milan Watson

At least five stars, can't go wrong with Milan's books. Max, owner of River Cruises boat has a mother that fancies herself a matchmaker and has chosen Abby as the one for Max. Max and Abby were in love in high school. She suddenly broke up with him. No explanation, just gone out of his life. His mother has now "hired" Abby as the Cruise boat's event director, much to Max' dismay. I do understand why Abby did what she did, I just think she waited too long to tell Max. They both have misconceptions about the other's reasons for doing what they did so they are still apart 13 years later. Very well written, great characters, realistic situations, just enough mystery to be interesting. Grabbed me at the start and I couldn't put it down. Beautiful love story, highly recommend it.

Can a forgotten summer romance be reignited?

Max Sullivan has it all or so he thought until Abby stepped onto his boat and back into his life. He is blindsided when he finds out his mother just hired Abby as the new events coordinator for his business. Max is suddenly reminded of a summer romance that had ended too soon.

As they fight against the re-emerging feelings and the heartache from long ago, it becomes clear that Abby’s life is in danger. Will Abby follow her heart this time? Can Max forgive her for what happened thirteen years ago? Who is threatening Abby’s life?

Thanks to the best kind of matchmaking mom, Abby and Max are brought back into contact with one another in this exciting and sweet romance. They had dated 13 years ago, but Abby broke things off with no explanation. She's now been hired on a director for a cruise he owns, but danger is following her. The chemistry that they have ignored for years doesn't take long to re-ignite, but they have so much more than their personal drama to worry about. This is a book I read a standalone, but the excellent writing makes me curious about what treasures the other stories might hold. While the grandfather isn't the main character, the Alzheimer's part broke my heart. My own grandmother had to go through it at the end of her life, which made it particularly impactful for me. From the smooth bits to the bumps, this is a deeply rewarding read that I highly recommend. The author does a great job of giving us a lot of heat and shows real tact with how a sensitive subject is addressed. Well done. This is a voluntary review of an advance reader copy.

Max,
Your high school crush is all grown up.
Abby…
She of the midnight laugh
And the will of iron…
She haunts your dreams.
The one who got away.
The One.
Whatever you tell yourself
In order to cope with that hole
She left in your heart.

Second chance romances are one of my favorite genres, so I was looking forward to this one. No disappointment here!!
I loved Max and Abby… and getting a chance to revisit the funny, wonderful Sullivan family.
Bottom line: Cruisin’ into the sunset… 5 stars.

What a great second chance romance with lots of drama and suspense. Thirteen years ago, Abby and Max were an item until she broke it off and he never knew why. Left heartbroken, you can understand why he's not happy to find out that his mother has hired Abby as the events coordinator for his business. It's evident that the feelings are still there for both of them but the drama just begins. What secret was she hiding, who is trying to kill her and do they get their second chance at an HEA. Well written with complex, likeable characters. You'll find it hard to put this book down. I read a reader copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Summer Loving
by Milan Watson
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Good story of past love and second chances. Abby Sims and Max Sullivan hadn't seen each other for 13 years, but now they're working together. Can old hurts be forgotten and or forgiven? They try to fight the feelings they appear to still have for one another. But as they deal with their feelings, someone is trying to hurt Abby. Can she lean on Max? Can she trust him? Max wants to be there for her, but can he reconcile his own pain when Abby is involved? Good story, enjoyable and exciting!

I received this book as an ARC.
It was enchanting! I could visualize the scenes and smell the scents of the river. I was sitting on those Adirondack chairs watching as as the water flowed by. I say all these things to let you know that the author paints a very vivid picture of the story she is creating. The characters are ones you want to befriend until you find out they might not be worthy. This is the first book I have read in this series but I have already ordered the others and look forward to many more to come.

Max and Abby’s story is a second chance romance with a little suspense and drama weaved in. I enjoyed the book but felt the characters were a little childish in their reactions for being in their thirties. I was intrigued and excited for the suspense and drama but felt the climax to the story was a little lacking and felt very rushed and resolved in a matter of minutes. I would have loved to have had more build-up, drama, and suspense.

With this being the third book in this series I do see growth in the writing and am excited for what Milan Watson will have in her future books.

Summer Loving was so much fun to read. I could really relate to the characters. I really like Abigail Sims who is strong and stubborn. She is also looking out for her grandfather, who is her only living relative. Max Sullivan has loved Abby since high school when she broke up with him and broke his heart. The drama over Max's mom hiring Abby to be the cruise event planner on his boat sets off all kinds of interesting drama as the sparks begin to fly.. Add to that someone is after the trinkets that Abby's grandfather gave to her. My favorite part of the story is that the author really surprised me at the end of the story and I did not see that coming at all! I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review

Romantic Suspense
This is an interesting story. It is a second chance romance filled with suspense. I have not read any of this series and this episode stands alone quite well. I was a bit disappointed in the ending. I felt that the dramatic climax was way too easy for the good guys. A felon that good at his job should have been harder to take down. I received this book for free and voluntarily chose to post my honest review.

Another good book

I am so glad to read about the Sullivan Family and how each of their sons meet and fall in love with three very distinct women. Meeting Abby and how she got into Max Sullivan's life made a great story by this gifted author. The very tormented Abby and Max history made this story a hard to put down book. A great family of Susan and Mac.

Distracted by Non-Story Elements

While I really liked Abby and Max's story, I was distracted throughout by grammatical and punctuation issues. (That cost the author a review star.) I wish the text had been clean, so I could have just enjoyed the tale.

Abby Sims has just landed her dream job as Event Coordinator on the Cape River Dream. Only one problem, Max Sullivan the owner of the boat has not been told that his mother hired Abby without telling him. He gets on his boat and hears the voice of the girl that broke his heart 13 years ago when she walked away from him without giving him a reason.

Max is livid and orders her off his boat, and she declines to leave saying she was hired by his mother and she would not leave until the mother says she must go. They an not trust each other. She is an excellent worker, and increases his boat traffic. They finally agree to work together and be civil to each other.

This is definitely a book to buy and read the story. It is very well written and has amazing twists and turns before the story ends happily ever after.

When one day Max goes to work on his charter and sees Abby greeting the guests instead of his mother, he is particularly angry. His mother hired the only woman he ever loved and who tossed him aside, chattering his heart, without his consent. He has to find a way to get rid of her…
The mystery behind the romance was absolutely captivating. Normally, I would have taken away a star for the insufficient proofreading (some mistakes are just annoying!), but the plot was so unexpected and well woven in that I decided to leave the five stars. Since I don’t want to give any hint, I will leave my review at the fact that nothing is as it looks like and wish all the readers a lot of fun ☺.

Milan keeps the reader interested in her stories. Max and Abbie meet up again after thirteen years, sparks fly and keep on flying. Max and Abby have a lot of.things to workout before they can be together again. Abbie broke up.with Max in high school because she needed to take care of her grandpa. Max didn't know why she broke up.with him.until Abbie came .to work on his boat as a cruise director. It took time for them to work thru their distrusts of each other before they could get together again.

Abby broke off her relationship with Max thirteen years previously. Despite countless female encounters since, Max has never forgiven her, so he is unhappy when he discovers his mother has given Abby a job in his business. Can Max discover the reason for her actions all those years ago and can Abby forgive him for not fighting for her and moving on so quickly to other women?

An interesting story. I found it started out a bit slow but improved. I was pleased I read to the end, the story has a twist I wasn't anticipating. I was intrigued with the suspense and surprised who was the perpetrator. The romantic portion seemed drawn out and somewhat immature for adults.

Absolutely Beautiful

It was heart warming, but kept you at the edge of your seat at times also! Also makes you wish you had a family like The Sullivan’s!
