Lorelei Daniels is having a terrible day--her self-driving car repossesses itself, she loses her job, and she's about to get kicked out of her apartment. What else could happen? How about a visit from a huge Kindred warrior begging her to come help him rescue another warrior who has been turned into a Cyborg?
Bound Tight is desperate for help. Torn Deep, is his other half--without him, Bound is incomplete. He is certain that Lorelei is the answer--the only one who can help him rescue Torn. But will she agree to come with him?
Because of her advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence Psychology, Lorelei is uniquely qualified to help with the Cyborg problem. But no matter how handsome Bound is, she's determined this is just a business transaction. However, when they rescue Torn, he has lost all memory of his past. It's up to Lorelei to try and bring the two warriors back together in the only way she can--by using her body as a bridge between them.
Can Lorelei keep things businesslike as she brings the two back together? Or will she end up losing her heart as she is Bridging the Distance between the estranged Bound and Torn?
Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.
Main characters: Lorelei and Bound Tight and Torn Deep (yes, these are their actual names hahaha) Type of Kindred: Twin
Lorelei has chosen to study the wrong thing. Her degree is on Artificial Intelligence Psychology with a minor in Human/AI interface which may had been a highly demand degree, but lately it is useless. Scared humans decided to banned or dumbed down to the level of nothing but stupid mechanical servants, all AIs with personalities. As a result, Lorelei has a huge student loan to pay, she was working in a shop that sells clothes for skinny girls from which she is recently fired and her car is taken away from her because she couldn't make the payments. Lorelei is desperate. And suddently a gorgeous Kindred appears and asks for her help. His twin brother was abducted and taken away. He is probably changed now into some kind of cyborg by the “V’radors”. Now he could have become anything from a body-slave to a gladiator and has forgotten his past and his brother. And he is for sale in a place that males are considered inferior to women. Bound asks Lorelei to follow him and buy his brother. She is the best scientist for this position because of ther studies and because of her beauty that will certainly convice Torn to follow her.
Well.. Twin Kindred stories are some of my favourites in this series for mainly three reasons: 1. They have this kind of inverse beauty standards. Twin Kindreds love chubby, plump and rounded, girls. This kind of girls are considered "elite" in their planet and they try very hard to convince the girl that she is drop dead gorgeous. Sometimes the guys are brokenhearted, because they think that they are not good enough for the girl. 2. Twin Kindreds want to share the girl. Who does not want to be shared. Because she feels that she will be the main star in an intergalactic porn movie. The way the brothers try to convince her is hot. And it is incredible funny. 3. Generally they are funny books. If you are a series' fan, you know what I mean.
Anyway, this book is a good example with this theme. I truly enjoyed i!
Well, again equal parts annoyed but again entertaining. I honestly find the body shaming of thin women just as offensive as it is to body shame bigger women. For the record I have been heavy though currently I'm not. But I'm curvy and always will be. So it's insulting to anyone to judge or put down anyone because of size, large or small. And to me personally, I find it insulting to read books that focus so much on size anyway. It's personality that matters for long term relationships. And when every heroine in these books are 'plus-sized' - a term I absolutely hate - and yet they always have body image issues. Sorry, but I don't have body issues. I've been a size 16. I've never had body issues. Then every single book formula is the same! The woman gets to blame some crazy sexual situation for having sexual contact, they always go so slowly with it as if the heroine was a scared 16 year old virgin instead of a woman! It's juvenile.
That said, these issues are an ongoing pet peeve throughout the entire Kindred series. One or two or three books spread out like this would have been fine, but every single one? Jeez. But the real problem with this book was the weak plot. Lorelei's awesome degree was never needed. Any computer engineering scientist specializing in nantes was needed, not a psychologist for AI. Like that awesome plot point went freaking no where. Sigh.
On the plus side, nice to see another Twin Kindred book.
I loved that first chapter of everything going wrong for Lorelei. I liked how we got another Twin Kindred story, but I want to read another Blood or Beast Kindred story soon.
I liked the book, but there was too much insta-love for me personally.
Poor Lorelei Daniels! Within five minutes of each other, her car got repossessed and she got fired from her horrible retail job. To make matters worse, she'll likely be out of her apartment since she doesn't have enough cash in her bank account to cover the next month's rent. When she sees the big, sexy Kindred warrior coming her way, she hopes he has come to take her away. In truth, he has come for her, but he needs her help. His twin brother is missing, and only she has the abilities he needs to help his brother survive.
What follows is another galaxy-hopping romp from the ever inventive and imaginative mind of Evangeline Anderson as Lorelei and Bound rescue Torn and bring him safely home, all the while dodging and defeating anyone who tries to stand in their way. And, if they somehow manage to fall in love on the way, that's just a bonus!
These books are the cheesiest. Like they are written by the same people who screen wrote the original Star Trek. A female-dominated planet where women wear high heels and wear sexy clothes? Healing through sex? It’s a bit much. Also, genders are very binary, Americanism is a stand in for all of earth cultures, and fat fetishes are a thing (but done in a way that includes all the stupid American anxiety about size). Its a little toxic but also low stress brainless.
Bridging the Distance: A Kindred Tales Novel - Evangeline Anderson
Evangeline Anderson’s Kindred Tales series are shorter novels but they are not any less filled with storyline, page turning plots, detailed characters and mesmerizing world building. Equally as wonderful is the appearances of many of our favorite characters from the series as part of the story.
Twin Kindred- I love this breed of the Kindred (my favs),these twins (one light and endearing, one dark and intense) together make one amazing package for one lucky female. Mated to Twin Kindred may sound daunting but there are many benefits to this M/F/M arrangement. Yes of course there is very sizzling sexual tension and some pretty memorable hot scenes. Bound(light twin) enlists the help of Lorelei to find his twin,Torn, who has been abducted. Lorelei has a degree in AI which will help once they find Torn who has been “altered” it’s some nanos and mechanical parts.
Lorelei is more than happy to help since the earth has banned most AI and she needs a job desperately. Besides she is speechless when she learns the Twin Kindred consider her an Elite, a female with major curves.
The author has once again mixed so many elements into this exciting awesome sci-fi story. An amazing addition to the series that has new worlds to explore, danger, parts that will pull at your heart strings, as well as have you laughing and of course seriously in need a fan as no one writes sexy hot like Evangeline Anderson.
I am always secretly pleased when I read that the next book (or novella) will be about Twin Kindred.
For some reason, the attraction of a MFM story with the males having unique personalities is very intriguing. Both Males need the same female to complete their Trio. And all three of them work. To have three unique personalities in a relationship takes work. But the author always knows how to write these stories. The only down side to the Twin kindred stories, is the subtle body shaming. Big or small, we don't have to be politely reminded that these stories are specifically aimed at "plus-sized" people. I am one of these people. But it is all about the wording. Perhaps not so many words on emphasis in the future.
Bound and Torn have been pulled away from each other, and if either of them have a chance at happiness, they need to bridge the distance and form a unity. Que Lorelei. A lovely clumsy human female where nothing has been going right in her life. Then all of a sudden she finds herself the centre of need. In more ways than one.
A heartfelt story with an emotional journey for all characters involved. I still don;t see who Lorelei's degree fits into this book though. I know it was an attempt to show that Females are just as intelligent as any other species. But it seemed like we fumbled through this story. Liv's Nursing career was better handled than this.
Am still looking forward to seeing more of our Kindred Hunks though!!
WOW, Evangeline Anderson did it again. I so loved the characters in this story. This book is a MFM book and can be read as standalone so if you have not read any other books in the series that is fine.
I felt sorry for Lorelei. She was really having a crappy day. Seemed like one thing after another was happening to her and when she thinks things are looking up she finds she is wrong.
I can only imagine the turmoil that Bound was feeling. He was a twin kindred and he really needed his twin, Torn. I love that we got to see the connection grow between Bound and Lorelei before Torn was brought into the picture.
I found the dinner with the Countess hilarious. Talk about a dinner going wrong.
I love that we got to discover why the book was called Bridging the Distance. Yes reading the book you can see why the author chose that title. It was great to see that healing Lorelei, Torn, Bound. It was great to see the Goddess direct Lorelei in the direction she needed to go to help both Torn and Bound.
Of course there are some pretty steamy parts as well along with some things that will make you laugh. I truly loved this story and glad I got a chance to read the book.
I absolutely loved Torn, Bound, and Lorelei. There's something really special about the twin kindred, it's incredible reading about twins where there is 1 dark twin and 1 light twin. Their personalities are so unique and interesting. I think twin kindred may be my favorite, but i say that every time Evangeline Anderson comes out with a new one. Even after so many books in the series, each book is still different from all the rest and totally engrossing. I especially loved Lorelei, she was a great female lead!!!! From the very beginning she wanted to be a kindred bride. Yes, she's having trouble on Earth but that's not what it's about. She has a great heart and goes all in to save Torn. Bound seeks out Lorelei to help him rescue his brother. When they finally get to him, he's definitely not the same as he once was. Can she bring back the old Torn??? Then we get even more drama added to the fold, it was a great twist of events and I loved every part of this story. I'm eagerly waiting for whatever magical awesomeness Evangeline Anderson cooks up next!!

Bridging the Distance is the next instalment in the Kindred Tales Series by the talented Evangeline Anderson. I loved the story, and the only thing better than this story is the prospect of another story coming out soon. Evangeline Anderson has a unique way of making her stories come alive and lets the reader fall into the Kindred world exploring all the possibilities. Bridging the Distance was a cute little story, and although it was clear to see what was going to happen it ticked all the boxes for a fantastic read. The story explodes around Twin Kindred brothers, Bound and Torn and the curvy Lorelei. Lorelei is wondering how her life could get worse as her car is repossessed and Bound is waiting his chance to talk with her and ask for her assistance. It was a nice touch that she was needed for her brains along with how breathtaking Bound found her to be. As with any good romance novel there was a range tangled entrapments, near death experiences, daring rescues and of course, lots of steamy sex. Well worth the read if you have a spare couple of hours to fall into the world we have fallen in love with known as the Kindred World.
Love these Twin Kindred stories – Great MFM read!!!
Lorelei has completed her Master’s in AI Psychology and should be in high demand….except. Someone decided a “Skynet” type issue was to happen and the AI Blocking Bill was born. She is miserable with school loans, lousy housing, poor transportation and a brutal job in a clothes store for teeny-tiny women, while she is curvy. When a twin Kindred hires her to help retrieve his kidnapped and modified twin, she jumps at the chance.
Bound needs help rescuing his twin Torn. Lorelei is not only smart, but an Elite – the epitome of female beauty – ie. Curvy. As these two travel to the rescue an attraction begins – but a twin Kindred feels pain if he is without his twin. Finding and retrieving Torn is only half the battle as he is enraged with the technology that is now a part of him.
Great science fiction romance story. The Kindred tales never fail to entertain with danger, unique worlds and always a large helping of romance.

Lorelei Daniels can't seem to catch a break. And as if the worst day ever couldn't get any stranger, Bound-Tight drops in to tell her he needs her for her specialized AI communication skills because his Twin Kindred brother has been kidnapped and had changes made to him that require her to help. And chaos ensues.
I love reading these stories when I'm looking for something funny and sexy, and there's always a bit of danger involved, some more frightening than others. But they take me to fantasy place where the men revere the women, think the average woman is beautiful, and they'll do anything, including risk their own lives, to keep them safe. They don't cheat, and when they say it's a forever love, it is. Sometimes, I just need that, and that's what these Kindred stories provide. It's been a while since the author has written a Twin Kindred story, so I enjoyed it and look forward to future stories.

Story - I was in a book slump after reading a very emotional book and I just want something different and totally fictional. I happened to come across this delicious little gem. I loved the funny episodes and faux pas Bound and Lorelei encountered on their journey to save Torn. Even though some might consider their sexy times ridiculous and porn-like, but that was exactly what I needed. I loved the lightness and absurdity of the story. I totally enjoyed this book. I'm intrigued by the Kindred and will definitely stay in this make-up world a little longer.
Audio - Mackenzie Cartwright performed remarkably. She had brought all the characters to life and I loved every minute of this audio book.
Ohhhhh!!!!!! I didn’t think I’d ever get to read another Twin Kindred novel, but Evangeline has pulled through with this one for sure. This M/F/M story is just as amazing, although shorter, than the first one. The Dark twin, Torn, has been taken and modified to the point to where his connection with the Light Twin, Bound, is almost nonexistent. Bound has gone to earth to ask for help from an Elite female that has the knowledge of AI psychology in hopes she may be able to bring Torn back. Things start getting back on track and they all discover their feelings, but another set of slavers have now basically wiped all of Bounds memories after attempting to kidnap them all. Their battle to bring back the brothers bond is very adventurous...and sexy too. I cannot wait to see what’s next, I’m really looking forward to the Volt Kindred honestly, that’ll be an interesting one for sure. I’m voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.
>Book Review – Bridging the Distance >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 7th in the Kindred Tales series and ends in an HEA. This book deals with the Twin Kindred, so prepare for an M/F/M story. Bound is trying to save his kidnapped twin, Torn, before he is genetically changed until he is no longer recognizable. Bound finds down on her luck, Lorelei to help him. Lorelei has a degree in AI technology and would be able to help deal with Torn when he is found. >Of course, Bound and Lorelei have to play act in order to get to Torn. This acting involves some super-hot scenes. Once Torn is located and the three characters decide to mate, another threat presents itself, this time involving Bound. Once the HEA is in place, a reader can only take a deep breath and be glad that Torn, Bound and Lorelei made it! >This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this story 5 stars. The story could have been a bit longer, but the story as presented was fun to read.
Evangeline Anderson has done it again, kindred are my absolute favorite alien species ever, i never get bored reading their adventures. Also this is a M/F/M menage romance Lorelei is pretty much having a really bad day anything that could go wrong has went wrong. Bound shows up looking for her help, to save his twin brother Torn, who has been turned into pretty much a cyborg. Bound needs her help based on she has a degree in A.I. and shes a female an Elite [female with full, abundant curves]. so she goes plus you cant beat the pay :) She is intrigued by Kat and her mates and finds her self wondering what that would be like, then she remembers to be professional, that this is a business deal to find and her bound and his brother. I really love the dinner its a bit explosive :).

Evangeline's books are always so well written and exciting. Her unstoppable imagination keeps you riveted to the story. Her descriptions of the scenery, the awful food, the outlandish attire will make you laugh or cringe. In this book involving twins Torn and Bound, Bound's on a quest to rescue his twin Torn from a slave market. Knowing that Torn has been modified with AI intelligence he seeks the help of an AI expert from Earth named Lorelei, who is having a very bad day herself, so she has nothing to lose when he offers her money to accompany him. Their journey and experiences will also reunite with some of our past and favorite Kindred warriors and their spouses. Love it!!
Evangeline Anderson does it again. What is a girl to do when her college degree has become obsolete? Loralei is having a really bad day when her car repossesses itself and she is fired from the only job she can get with her worthless degree or is it? A stranger comes out of nowhere and offers her a job and says she is the only one who can help. Should she go with the stranger? What could it hurt she has no other options.
Bound needs Loralei's help. She has the degree he needs to help his brother. Can he talk her into helping him? His brother's life depends on it.
Loved the chemistry in this book. It is another great installment of the Kindred series. Worth the read. I would recommend this book.

No big surprises as yet another plus-size feisty underdog heroine is scooped up on the adventure of a lifetime by one of those absurdly handsome hulking Kindred behemoths. While Bound may have saved her from a life of tedious mediocrity, Lorelei is able to rescue Torn and not only reunite the twin Kindred, but unsurprisingly form a bond with the both of them as well. Expect a modicum of alien violence, a satisfying amount of graphic sex and flashes of humor. The Kindred World feels like home to me by now, having read all the books, and I am a bit unhappy not being able to contact the Mother ship in my daily life! And where is MY personal Kindred and when will I be claimed?
I enjoyed this story so much for a number of reasons. Firstly, Bound and Lorelei had an instant connection which they quickly both admitted and, because of the circumstances, acted on. Secondly, I loved that the action moved so swiftly. Some of Ms. Anderson’s longer books have a great deal of”dithering” around instead of allowing the characters to move forward in their story. And thirdly, I loved Bound and Torn. The Twin Kindred together make a more than perfect man and they are so wonderful for Lorelei. The shorter length of the story was another plus to this sexy, sweet romance. Loved it.

An enjoyable read with two hot Twin Kindred and the woman who will bring them together (an M/F/M Romance). This is a side story that adds some depth to the Kindred World. Torn has been kidnapped and mechanically altered by another race. His Twin, Bound, must get him back before their bond is severed which will leave him in eternal pain. He hopes that an AI specialist, Lorelei, will be the one to help get his brother back and bridge the gap between them. He can only hope she is the woman for the two of them. I enjoyed this Kindred Tale. I love the Twin Kindred (Sought is my absolute favorite in the series) and Lorelei is the perfect elite for these two separated twins. The author did a good job of telling a complete story in the amount of pages this book has but the cure for the twins just seemed a little too "easy" for a Kindred story (hence the 4 stars). It is an enjoyable book with some familiar friends making appearances.
Just to mention - the Kindred Tales are tales of Kindred warriors with main line characters making appearances but these stories don't further the main Kindred storyline. That being said, I cannot wait for the Volt Kindred.
Bound Tight is the Light Twin of a pair of Twin Kindred. He needs to rescue his Dark Twin, Torn Deep, who is his other half. He needs the help of Lorelei who's probably having the worst day of her life. Her car's repossessed, she can't pay her rent, and she has the crappiest job ever - along with a useless college degree.
It's that AI degree that Bound needs Lorelei's help with to rescue Torn. Will she help? Is she desperate enough for the money he offers her? Oh, sure, but can she REALLY keep it just business?
Love the twin Kindred. This is a new twist on amnesia.loreli leads a rather unhappy life since the need for AI psychiatry was found obsolete after the ban on sentient AI. However, loreli finds her degree not so obsolete after all when she is offered a job by Bound to help save his twin from auction on femalah after having his memory hijacked by slave traders. Great read, of course twist and turns to keep you on your toes. I highly recommend this book and series.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout I voluntarily read and review this ARC no monetary compensation was received the opinions I have expressed are my own. So as usual this was another fascinating addition to the Kindred series. I just love the kindred especially twins kindred who doesn't want two sexy alphas men loving on them. What I really like about this book was that it had a different twist from the other Kindred books!!! My only issue I had was there was much in the drama department and I guess I expected more conflict in the twins getting their memories back. Overall enjoyable and entertaining read looking forward to next Kindred book.
Lorelei is or was working at a dead end job (having a disastrous day) when twin Kindred Bound convinces her to help him rescue his twin Torn. Their pledge of mutual assistance is a memorable journey. Not only do these two seek to rescue Torn they unknowingly seek to rescue each other by meeting the bridge and eventually bridging the gap to their HEA. I got an ARC of this book through Booksprout and I am voluntarily and willingly leaving a review

An amazing and hot addition to the Kindred series. Kindred are hot aliens that believe a woman should be treated equally if not as a goddess. She is a brilliant woman with a degree to show for it. But now her degree means nothing because of a new law. Then her car is repossessed and rent is due. But when a gorgeous Kindred finds her everything may change but he isn’t looking for a mate but has a job for her. Some action, lots of awkward moments and some steamy scenes. Wants not to like.
I voluntarily read and reviewed a copy of the book.
Lorelei is an extremely relatable character. She's struggling to make money for car payments despite her degrees. The meeting of Lorelei and Bound is interesting since he witnesses Lorelei at her worst moments. Bound's just as sweet and caring as any Light Twin and tries his hardest to keep things professional with Lorelei despite the fact that he's basically using her for her "Elite" body. Bound is trying to find his lost twin Torn Deep and it is really hard on Bound since he believes he could've prevented Deep's kidnapping. One of the cons of this book is that it was not long enough. Also, I would've like to have the dark twin's viewpoint. Also, Deep doesn't get a much time with Lorelei like Bound did, however, Deep becomes just as committed to Lorelei as Bound.
Overall this book is enjoyable and despite its short length, it is worth a read.
