The true enemy has been revealed. The clock is ticking. Everything comes down to one girl. One legend. One. Last. Battle. And Alex is either going to win it, or she's going to meet her end in a flurry of flames and fangs.

As a kid, S.M. Gaither spent way too much time playing video games like Final Fantasy and reading every book she could get her hands on instead of doing silly things like her assigned homework. As an adult…Well, not much has changed. Her goal is to write books that distract others from their life’s obligations, too, thus creating an army of fellow procrastinators over which she can reign supreme. These days, her personal favorite places to procrastinate are in the mountains near her North Carolina home, in the company of her husband, their daughter, and their very spoiled dog.
Good ending to a good series. Broken hearted none the less, but with war there are always casualties.
Favorite quote: “But you weren’t broken when I pulled you out of the water. You were fighting and gasping for air, and you haven’t stopped doing that since.”
I really enjoyed this series. It has everything in it to keep me entertained for days, every time I thought something was going to happen a complete different thing happened. Took me a while to realize I liked the character Alex and in the end she was great :) thanks for the read well worth the years I've waited to finish this series
I actually loved this book so much that I couldn't stop myself from just finishing it... I loved how things took turn and got much emotional when Will and Valkos died in saving Alex, the news of Vanessa and Will's kid got out, Eleanor told about herself etc but was relieved when it was all over (actually it's not) bt still I loved this.😍

This book made me laugh and cry with the ups and downs our heros faced. I am really going to miss this series but I am glad to have finally finished reading Alex's story
I would give it five stars, but I simply am not ready to forgive Eva Truesdale for ripping my heart from my chest and stomping it into the dirt! Now, that's not to say the finale to this series isn't remarkable, it is. In fact, it's a very realistic ending. Well, as realistic as a world of werewolves and lycans and magic can be... Anyways, if you're reading Ascendant, I'm assuming you've read the first three books, so you kind of have to see this story out till the end, right? I'm just giving you a fair warning: Prepare to feel your heart break and have a box of tissues beside you.
I loved this series. I had a lot of trouble waiting for the next book in it. The series had a lot of twists and turns but this review is suppose to be about the last book in the series not the series so here it goes.
I feel this book ended pretty well. There were no lose ends and it was just nicely done. The book picks up right where the last one left off. I feel that Alex has grown a lot since this series has started. She is still a bit whiny I guess you could say but after everything she had been through I think there is a reason for that. I had a hard time putting the books down.
I put this at 4 stars because it did end nicely compared to other books I've been reading but man what just happened? The end fight was so glossed over it kinda made me feel disappointed. The actual end fight just kinda stopped and it went to the "after the fight" type thing. It did leave me a bit off but for a last book i felt the epilogue was a nice touch and tied up the lose ends.
So while I gave the first book 3 stars, I HAD to give the last 5. I can't tell you guys how much I loved this series from the second book on.
Alex was pretty badass, but not in that OP Mary Sue way. She did make mistakes, a lot, but it was about as much as you'd expect from a teenage girl with almost no experience of this new world. And yes, she was reckless, but it did get her places. If anything, her recklessness is what gave this story a happy ending.
From the fight scenes to the romance, this series is captivating and had me attached almost immediately.
If her other books end up being like this series, Ms. Truesdale will quickly make her way to being one of my favorite authors.
No way not will?? I cried he was a good one I didn't want to leave, but she saved a lot and I am glad Vanessa had a piece of will. That I am happy about, so many losses but in the end of all lost they can now have their happy ending and Karl and Alex can finally be with each other without all the evil. Very good story and hates to end but what a ride! Whew
This book doesn't disappoint the fans of the series. If you enjoyed the previous books, then you will like reading about the struggle against the feral and the final battle. It has an epilog which ends the story well and ties up loose ends. All in all, this series doesn't stand out in my opinion, but it is an entertaining read which made me smile sometimes, so I don't regret reading the series.
This has been an amazing series. I started reading through Kindle Unlimited. Alex and Kael have been on quite a journey battling the evil Feral's. Many battles have been fought and victory is sometimes bitter sweet. This book has plenty of action and adventure. Good verses evil. I highly recommend this book/ series to everyone. It's a great read
Loved this series. I really would of liked a bit more of an ending w/ alex and kael. Will's ending was truely heart breaking. What a wonderfully written series. Great job!
Entertaining with enough humor to break up the tension and enough drama to keep it interesting. Helped distract me at a time when my life needed escape
teen girl finds out about her family's hidden lycan history and has to live up to the legacy.
good story, clean, some swearing. kissing, but no sex. last book has one of the main characters pregnant and seemingly not married since the others don't know about the relationship. the main couple has some serious temptation but also have a conversation implicating marriage before having sex.
i did enjoy this series and read it to the end. each book is actually a story to itself and not one book cut into sections, which i appreciate. the last book leaves open the next series with the next gen.
