Tulsa, Oklahoma, 2000.

Fernando “Ox” Sanchez spent more than two decades as an enforcer in the Brazen Bulls MC before he was named to take the Vice President flash from a brother lost in club turmoil. In the time since, as Ox has settled into his place at their president’s side, the club has cleaned out festering wounds and begun to heal.

The Bulls are strong and growing, their work is expanding, and Ox’s life with his old lady is perfect. Their love has never wavered in fifteen years, their lust for each other still burns hot, and together, they’ve made a home that is a sanctuary from their past and their present.

Life is good. But Ox came from nothing, and scraped for years just to get by. He’s lived long enough to know better than to take the good times for granted.

Madonna “Maddie” Donne met Ox when she was at her lowest, and with him at her side, she’s climbed to heights of success and power matched only by the Bulls. After spending her whole life fighting for survival, she built herself up from that nothing, and Ox offered his shoulders for her to climb on when she couldn’t reach alone.

Together, they’ve built a beautiful life. But that beauty won’t protect them from the fight they’re about to face.

When Ox, named for his size and brute power, takes ill, he and Maddie will need every ounce of strength and resolve, every moment of love and trust, to fight the battle before them now.

Note: explicit sex and violence.

I was born and raised in the Midwest, but I was transplanted into the dusty soil of Northern California and have apparently taken root there. An inveterate geek and gamer, I am a fan of many things considered pop culture and maybe even lowbrow.

As a reader, my favorite genres are science fiction and fantasy, but as a writer, I've found my home in romance--or perhaps it's better to say simply "love stories." I have a yen to try other genres, too, at some point, but for now my muse wants to tell stories about lovers and families.

I write for the joy of it, and I write stories that I want to read. If others like them, too, that's just the cherry on top. I’m not interested in rules and formulae. I follow my muse and my characters and let them take me where they want to go, wherever that might be. I like big emotions, dark and light.

I like complicated characters with flaws and weaknesses as well as strengths, and I like each character’s strengths and weaknesses to be different from those of other characters. I’m much more concerned that my characters be interesting and diverse than that they be widely considered to be likable. I try to create people, not types.

Likewise, I want my stories each to be distinct from the others. Once I’ve told a story, I don’t want to tell it again. So even within a series, one of my books might be very different from the next. Some might be very dark, others equally mild.

That isn’t to say there aren’t trends and recurrences in my work. I’m drawn to certain themes and settings, and my muse has her favorite toys and tools. But I guard against those tendencies becoming a formula.

The English language is filled with so many words and yet I can’t seem to find the right ones to convey how this book made me feel. Please excuse my lack of words to express the feelings this book brought out in me. The story is so realistic that I was humbled by all that happened within the pages.

First I must mention there is an author's note at the start of the story. If you don't read it prior to reading the story MAKE SURE you go back and read it once you are done with the story. You won't be disappointed. It'll add to your own experience with the story.

It's been days since I've read the book and I'm still thinking about it. One thing I took away from this story was HOPE. No matter what was happening in the story, Ox and Maddie’s commitment to one another and the trust they had in each other left them (and me) believing their love was bigger than the here and now.

Ms. Fanetti outdid herself with this book. The story amazed me at how it was brilliantly told. It's one story I will continue think on and refer back to when I’m faced with difficult times. Once I was done with the story I hugged my loved ones even tighter and was thankful for our bond and time we have together.

FIGHT is the sixth book in Brazen Bulls MC series. You can read this series without having read any of the other MC series Ms. Fanetti has written, so far. This series is set back, in time, before her other series … it starts out in the 90’s. If you love the thrill of intense scenes mixed with strong characters than this series is for you! ACTUALLY, ALL of Ms. Fanetti's books are for you. There's no sugarcoating happening in these books. The characters are strong and battle through each situation to come out a better version of themselves.

PICK UP THIS SERIES AND READ IT!

June 2020 - One of the toughest books I've ever read. Also one of the most touching, passionate, and fierce love stories I've ever read. It's a story that leaves readers vulnerable. It's a story that makes a statement and a huge impact on how we think about our own morbidity and mortality. It's hopeful and devastating all at once but completely beautiful. My original review below is one I'm quite proud of writing. I knew this story would rock me for personal reasons but it also uplifted me for those very same reasons.

5+ "Tell me what you need." Stars

I'm an emotional reader. I want the hard feelings. The dark parts of human nature. There's something I stay away from though, usually. Because of personal feelings I find easier to keep buried. A no-go topic if you will. Five years ago however, when Susan Fanetti's writing first changed my life, I vowed I'd read the phone book if she re-wrote it. I have never been more proud to keep that vow.

"...shaded everything he was, everything he had."

Fight encompasses what true love looks like when faced with the most dangerous, degrading, awful battle of one's life. How do we survive it? What does this battle look like for us, for our partner? Where do we go from here? This book is a warm blanket wrapped around the intense fight for life and how true love should still shine despite the constant uphill haul to some kind of freedom from the heart break. It's the beautifully passionate fight of this couples life. It's a vital chapter to the Brazen Bulls story in so many unique ways.

"He would give her what she wanted. What she needed. It was the only thing he wanted in his life."

This book struck some deeply personal chords. There are so many decisions and motivations present here that I've experienced in my life. That one singular, heart wrenching experience in my young life that changed the course of many of my beliefs into adulthood was so eloquently and honestly portrayed. Gritty as always, no holds barred in her presentation, it was almost as if Fanetti was holding up a mirror for me to look deeper into my own past. And isn't that what reading is all about? To strike something inside you, to stoke your emotions in any way, to be relatable. Even when it's really tough and I'm not going to try and circumvent the fact that there is nothing overtly glamorous about this particular story. It's really hard and bittersweet. You have really think about the glamour. You have to BELIEVE. You have to have FAITH. Even when it's hard to remember that you need it. Even when you'd rather be angry and sad. Because I'll tell you one indisputable truth - Fight filled me with so much HOPE there were times it was hard to breathe.

"Not because she wasn’t afraid, but because she was always afraid. Fear and doubt rampaged inside her with every new decision, every move forward, but she went forward anyway "

If the goal of life is to love and be loved, Ox and Maddie have met it a million times. Their relationship is sexy and fun, serious and everlasting. The way these two have stayed connected through their years and how deeply they feel for each other should be everyone's goal. The sacrifices never even come close to spoiling the love. There's no choice for Ox and Maddie but to be each others rocks always. They've nestled a life for themselves neither could ever imagine being without. Their bravery throughout this book, understanding each of them on a more intimate level was the best experience. It's not about putting someone else first, or losing yourself in that person; it's about finding the best you with this pillar of support by your side. Someone who understands you, someone who will FIGHT with you. It's so simple in it's complexity and so very pure.

Fight is Susan Fanetti's most vulnerable piece of work yet, in my opinion. I don't know if that's because how personally the story affected me or because it's plain to see from her incredibly honest and brilliant story telling how much this story personally affected her. That these words came from a place that's so painful to go yet she scaled that tragic mountain to give us this beautiful story anyway is a treasured gift. To reach inside yourself like that, to go back and relive moments of utter heartbreak and express those emotions through beautiful words with an inspiring love story, especially through an MC romance - well it just leaves me in awe.

"Forever and ever"

This book gave me strength to dig back into old wounds I didn't even realize I had, to uncover those buried feelings. To take something that impacted me so much, changed my whole life and see it through someone else's eyes. To look at things in a different light. To remember more fondly. To cry tears I never knew I needed to shed. It refreshed me to see some of my own thoughts reflected back through Ox and Maddie's love. It made me strive to be a better partner. And to re-avow that my partnership has the strength, should we ever need it, to be this full of love even in despair. My faith in the intangible became a little stronger.

And my unwavering belief in this author's gift has never been stronger. Thank you, Susan Fanetti, as always for giving the world your stories and these characters, all of your cool, all of your unfiltered emotions, and all of your steadfast honesty even when it hurts.

Read the rest of the Bulls before getting into Ox and Maddie. Here's my 5 star reviews for each in the series:

Book One: Crash
Book Two: Twist
Book Three: Slam
Book Four: Blaze
Book Five: Honor

Fight is the perfect title for Ox and Maddie’s story. This is a difficult and emotional story to read mainly because of the subject matter and knowing the outcome won’t have a happy ending. Ox and Maddie’s love story is a wonderful and beautiful one and that’s also why it was so hard to read Fight. Their love is irrevocable and despite what the future has in store for them that will never change. These two characters changed each other’s lives for the better. The Brazen Bulls also shows what their club stands for. It’s a family and they’re loyal and supportive especially in their most darkest times.

I can easily feel in the words and the story that this is a subject that hit close to home for the author. She depicts the good and the bad equally and doesn’t hold back which is also why the emotional impact is so intense. I don’t read these kind of book because of the subject but I’m a huge fan of this series and knew the author would give Ox and Maddie a worthy send off and she delivered.

Susan Fanetti at what she does best. The complex emotions between people. In a lot of contemporary romance you get to see the falling in love often angst ridden and messy and the glorious Happily Ever After... and that's it. This is a story of what comes next, love only growing over a long period of time between two people who are by no means angels but are very real, flaws and all. And what happens when a terminal disease means they'll have to say goodbye. Obviously an emotional read about love and impending loss, keep the packet of tissues handy.

5 beautiful, amazing love story stars. I don’t even know where to begin with this review. I have read all the books in the series and before this book I didn’t have really have any feelings about Ox or Maddie at all and wasn’t that excited about a book about them to be honest. As usual, Susan proved me so wrong and by the end I loved Ox beyond any of the other Bulls, and I loved Maddie too and understood her so much more. This story is just everything. Heartbreaking, beautiful, amazing story of love. *I recommend that if you know you want to read the book, skip the author’s note at the beginning and go back and read it after. That’s what I did and I’m so glad. It contains spoilers and I experienced the full range of emotions by skipping it. If you’re not sure this book is for you, then read the note first and will tell you what you need to know before you read*.

Soooo, sadly, I did not, could not and will not read this one. The author’s note at the beginning of the story is why.

I’ve said it be4(not sure if anyone actually reads my reviews lol), I read to escape realities. A book that talks about someone suffering from things such as rape/abuse/mental or physical trauma does not do it for me. Esp not something such as cancer or other terminal illnesses

This author chose to advise us at the onset of the book which i really appreciate. Thnks again Susan, but no thanks Susan.

I really wanted to rate this book less than 5 stars because of the gut wrenching emotional roller coaster it had me on, but I couldn't do it. In fact I would rate it higher if I could. As usual, Fanetti takes a heart breaking situation and writes such a realistic story that many of us can say, yes I've been there. I've read more than 20 books by Fanetti and 90% of them have all been 5 stars.
Fight is mainly about a beautiful love story between two imperfect people, Ox and Maddie. But it is a perfect match of soul mates meant to be together. I could feel the love and Ox became a member of my best heroes list. He lived and breathed for Maddie and he was the center of Maddie's world. It's a beautiful love story and shows you the way we always want to hold on to the ones we love. Then there's the love from all the club brothers. It's wonderful to see strong, alpha men show their emotional side for someone they love. When you read the last page you will not be able to leave Ox and Maddie behind for days. One spoiler I'll put out there is that there is no HEA but there's no death either.

Wow. This book is the best of the series and touched me on so many levels. Actually, I think this is one of SF's greatest love stories she's ever written. She says she isn't labeling it a romance (because of a certain aspect you can read about in the Author's Note if you want to know the spoiler), but I absolutely consider this to be a romance because I believe to be labeled as such, the story should be focused around a deep, unbreakable and forever love between two main characters, and this story definitely has that and more.

Ox and Maddie have the kind of love for each other that most people just dream about. Let me be clear - there is a lot of dark in this book. It was hard to read about some of the characters' histories, experiences, hardships, etc. It was heartbreaking, infuriating and/or sickening at times. I spent a lot of this book with a lump in my throat or tears running down my face. However, that's why this book is so special. The way Ox and Maddie found each other, the trust they put into each other, the faith they had in each other, the strength they gave to each other, the life they made together, and the peace they found together... it was truly something else. This was one of those books that showed you what complete and selfless love looks like, and no matter what was going on in the story, it just made you feel good when they were together.

To top it off, the many examples of love, support and friendship shown by the Brazen Bulls were also really moving at times and had my heart in my throat.

"Te amo, nena."
"Te amaré para siempre," she answered. "Forever and ever."

I have been binge reading this series to get myself caught up. This author writes some of the best MC books in the genre. She rightfully admits her muse is blood thirsty. You will get a true sense--I think--of life as a 1%. So in my binge, I haven't been leaving written reviews--just ratings. I can go back and fix those but I felt a need to tell you about this book.

For me, a 5 star rating goes only to those books that some how move me or make me question or feel something I hadn't previously considered. There are a ton of good books out there and I read a lot. This helps me sort out the Excellent from the very good in the book world.

Here is what I have to say about Ox and Maddie's book. It is not a romance. They are deeply in love and trust each other completely. They are super s3xy together. This book takes their relationship and stands it on end. It tests who they are together and who they are meant to be. It strengthens the bond of brotherhood within the MC. It is the first book that I can remember EVER, that I sobbed through. From about 25% on I was teary eyed off and on, but then the sobs came. Enough that I could no longer read the words. I dreaded every page but I needed to hear the rest of Ox and Maddie's story.

I didn't read the author's disclaimer at the front of the book. I like to go into these things and just experience it. You may want to read it--or not. I went back to it when I had finished. It explains the heart of the story and why she wrote it as she did.

The words, the content, the love--all of it will forever stay with me. Worthy of a 6 star rating if I could give it. Excellent!

Things are changing with in the Brazen Bulls and I can't wait to see what is next!

Gut wrenching. Heartbreaking. Crushing. Susan Fanetti has always managed to reach into my chest and squeeze my heart with her writing. Fight, the latest installment of the Brazen Bulls MC was no different. The story of Ox and Maddie’s journey through his entire battle with cancer: symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and terminal prognosis hit too close to home for me. Having gone through this pain with my mother could explain my tears and sobs as I read through each page. But I have a feeling Susan deserves all the credit for my emotional state. She’s a master at creating characters and a world where you can’t help but go all-in. I loved Ox. Adored him. His love and devotion for his old lady was stuff of legends. And to end the book knowing their life together had a rapidly approaching time limit, was excruciating. I don’t regret reading Fight but Susan’s warning about triggers should have made me realize that I needed to read this in the light of day where happiness was abound. Not at night in darkness and doom. :( 5 stars. Love you, Ox!!!

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would.
At the start of the book Susan has an explanatory note about the content, because there is a theme or trigger that is the epicentre of the story and may be too close to home for some people. I, however chose to skip the note and went in blind ready to just experience whatever it had to offer. Susan has written some amazing stories and this book is certainly one of them. It's the first book I've read of its kind and I am not surprised that Susan told the story with such warm, compassion and a raw & realistic view, she never holds back.
Ox is the Brazen Bull's VP and Maddie is his partner, they have been together over a dozen years when this story starts and I think Ox just jumped to the top of the list on my Brazen hot bunch richter scale, he is a mountain of a man, hell bent on giving his Maddie the best life she could possibly have, he truly is a gorgeous character. I really loved how Susan ended the book too, it was at the perfect stop. That is all I'm going to say about this book, no way I want to give anything away. Just to say it's worth the read, there will be tears, there will be love, herein lies an amazing story.

This was absolutely brutal. I'm not speaking of violence, there is some it is a biker book after all, but to the illness. Maddie and Ox have fought to have their beautiful life together and to read all of the shitty things that go along with this illness, well I just hope if it happens to me, one of my bucket list items kills me rather than go through what Ox does.

I would warn readers that while there is a heavy presence of the bikers we love and a visit from Irina and her delightful little bratva, this is about survival of an illness and how we as patients want to be treated. A fight for life because of an illness, it's effect on loved ones and how we choose to live our lives. If you want to use multiple boxes of tissue, this is for you.

Possible triggers for people who have had loved ones or good friends suffer from a long term illness

Awesome

I read the trigger warning and thought about passing this up. The subject matter is personal to me and I'm sure a lot of of other readers. I'm so glad I didn't. I know this isn't supposed to be labeled as a romance, but to me it was. Even with knowing what's to come there's no denying the love and devotion that Ox and Mads have for each other. I think think this is truly my favorite of the series because it's real life for a lot of us. Thank you

I truly loved Ox and Maddie's story..
Although I did Not like the ending.. The story did not end as I thought it would or maybe I should say It did not end the way I was expecting it to end. There's no closeure for me, I feel like I was left hanging with an open wound in my heart. For me It just doesn't feel like the end of Ox and Maddie's story..
Will there be a Brazen Bulls MC #7. ?

I’ve spent my time crying (still am!) over this more than anything but my god, it was a beautiful story. The is definitely best from this series because it hits into all of the feels... Ox and Maddie were fated for one another from the moment they met years back.

It was heart wrenching to learn about Maddie’s history and I am absolutely in awe with her strength and resilience to be a badass woman.
Ox helped her rediscover herself and gave her love and freedom. He is truly a strong and mighty protector.

Their story begins during the present 2000 while they are in their late 40s and are still madly in love with one another. Ox is running with the club business meanwhile Maddie with her escort service.

Ox begins to suffer from back pains slowly which he kept brushing off as nothing in the beginning but when the pain eventually catches up with him, worse than ever, he and Maddie discover the unthinkable cause.
The journey from there onwards begins in another whole way... and cue to endless tears too. Firstly, it was so unfair because Ox and Maddie still have forever left to spend together. Maddie survived an awful and tragic past after she was rescued by Ox. They built a life together and it feels like it hasn’t even been long enough.
This is where the fighter in Maddie emerges. She is hell bent on saving Ox and refuses to accept anything less than that. Meanwhile, Ox wants to accept that the remaining bit of time he may still have left, want it to be spent with Maddie by his side.
It was a battle throughout... it kept hurting me but yet, it made me smile through the pain. Ox and Maddie’s love only grew strong from there and it made them realise so much more what they want together.
The entire crew from the series have been another wonderful support for Ox and Maddie. That strong family bond they have was so endearing.., especially the OG old ladies❤️

The last few chapters though, I cried as much as I equally smiled because it was so beautifully bittersweet and it was perfect in every sense. Of course, I would’ve wanted the best way ever possible for these two... but if there was the next best way, it would be this ending, undoubtedly.❤️❤️

Why do I love the sweet torture of a book that completely crushes me? Ox and Maddie's story did just that...big, fat, crocodile tears were free flowing and I loved every minute of this book...thank you SF for the warning, even though it didn't help control all the emotions that this brought out. I, too, lost my father to cancer (in pretty much the same way and practically the same age) so, although this was a tough read, it was also cathartic.

Wonderful.

What a wonderful book. So, so sad but full of love and strength. Beautifully written showing sympathy, understanding and compassion, both for the characters and the situation they are faced with. I intend to read it again as much of it was read with tears filling my eyes. Thank you Susan for having the bravery to write this, it is a book I will never forget.

Heartbreaking

First thing is that I'm happy there was not a death to end this book. Second thing is that this story was told in an honest and heartfelt way. I love Ox and Maddie. I just can't express how much I loved this story and the way all characters came together as a family.

Beautifully written.

This is a beautiful (although sad) story about two people that had been together for 15 years. They were so in tune with each other. They had their HEA and were living it daily. Then Ox and Maddie have to deal with Ox's devastating illness. This story pulled at my heartstrings. Yes, you need tissue for this book. But it is so beautifully written. I loved it!

That was heartbreaking & beautiful. I knew going in what was going to happen because she warned us so I can only blame myself for the snot I have currently running down my face with the tears. Of course, I wouldn't recommend reading this book without reading the previous books in the series & I wouldn't even start the series if you can't stand violence or heartbreak or aka being "Fanetti-ed".

Not the beginning but the end of an unforgettable love story

*contains some spoilers*

Susan Fanetti is one of those authors who can write anything and I know I’m gonna love it, regardless of the genre or the trope. I’ve had Fight on my Kindle since the day it released, but after I read the author’s note I just couldn’t read it, but I had to get myself into the right frame of mind to tackle it. Don’t misunderstand me, it’s beautiful, but at the same time so heart-wrenchingly sad that I about cried my way halfway thru it. It’s an epic love story of two people who in different ways both had a difficult start in life but through grit and will managed to carve out a place for themselves in this world that is hostile to people who are different. They meet when they are adults, both in their thirties and having already experienced more than their fair share of the dark side of life. It’s essentially love at first sight. When we get to meet them, they are already middle aged and their love story and early live is told in flashback, because this book is not about the beginning of their story, but about the end.

Fernando “Ox” Sanchez, a mountain of a man and the scary enforcer of the Brazen Bulls MC has never been ill a day in his life when all of a sudden he is beset by steadily growing pains. Macho man that he is he thinks it’s just an ulcer and proceeds to ignore it until the night he collapses and is diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer. After having witnessed firsthand the slow and torturous death of his father from liver cancer that turned him from a vital man into a grumpy shadow of his former self Ox swore to himself that he would never go thru the same thing. But Maddie is not ready to let go of the love of her life and makes him fight. Ox is also not ready to let go and so agrees to try chemo but the aggressive treatment is worse than he thought, but he endures it stoically, until it almost kills him. Then they try radiation, with much the same results, and they come to the conclusion that they don’t want to spend the remaining time of Ox’ life with him suffering. So he stops treatment and they pack up and go to the place in Mexico on the beach where they were carefree and happy at the beginning of their love, enjoying haggling at the market, cooking, observing beautiful sunrises and making slow languorous love.

Although both Ox and Maddie appeared as secondary characters in previous installments of the series they never struck me as particularly likable and Ox behaved once or twice in a way that made me rather dislike him. But whereas before he was just part of the fabric of the club now we learn about his humble origins and the way he fought his way out of poverty and turned himself into the man we have come to know. I think his relationship with Mads is one of the most poignant love stories Susan Fanetti has ever written, how this strong, stoic man deferred his own needs and wishes to give Maddie everything she wanted and needed. I loved how they and their love was enough unto itself. After seeing all the club women pop out babies left and right it was so refreshing to for once meet a woman (and a man) who didn’t feel the need to procreate.

As much as this book is about death and the end of life, it is also about living every moment and experiencing joy, sadness, tragedy and love to the fullest of one’s ability till the end. An unforgettable tale of love and struggle: 5+++ stars.

COMMENTS/NOTES:Best yet. I felt for them thru the entire journey. We were warned that this wasn't a hea, so I was ready. Ox came across as such a powerful, fearful, hulky figure thru out the other books. His job was to use fear, hurt, and pain. I did shock me that he had such a peaceful home and existence with Maddie. That he was so different at home and with her. Having experienced cancer, chemo, etc the portrayal was as real as it gets. It's a heart breaker.

You know you’re in for a challenge when the introduction to a book comes with a warning. As a reader who doesn’t stress about triggers in a story, I followed the advice for the brave and skipped right on to chapter one. It was a good move because I believe even though there are hard to digest scenarios raised in Fight, they were all handled with respect and care.

This story isn’t a downer, far from it, it was uplifting. It ran my emotions ragged, which I believe is healthy every now and then to experience. Ms Fanetti brought me to tears, left me with a lump in my throat, made me smile and most importantly showed me the beauty of love and how precious it is.

The story focuses on Ox and his partner Maddie. Both are enjoying the good life and the fruits of their hard labor now, having experienced a lot of hardship in their early years. Maddie subtly shines a light on their affluence and influence by being known as a master takeout-orderer. Being the master shopper, cook and dishwasher-loader in our house had me aspiring to such heights myself!

Their life is complete but that’s not to say they don’t experience hard times in the present. Throughout their struggles they maintain a healthy life balance and continue to share their inner thoughts and place a considerable amount of trust in each other. It was during these times, this hard reader reached for the Kleenex on more than one occasion.

When the good times flourished from the troubled moments, it was a cathartic cleansing. The thoughtful gestures, the consideration for others and just doing the right thing by others was another reason I didn’t hesitate to bring out all the stars for Fight.

What I adored was the mature reflection on female friendship from Maddie’s point of view. There was no judgment between the way the younger old ladies partied hard and the laid back way Maddie and her friends chilled together. It was recognition of different ways of unwinding.

Fight is a relationship driven story set within the Brazen Bulls MC. There was sufficient club time, taking the overarching story between books in this series a little further. More importantly it got the balance right. I still got the feeling of a strong imperfect brotherhood, resistance from within and outside the MC to the lifestyle and a clear view from a seasoned feminine voice. Maddie showed her willingness to bend and accommodate the people around her at the same time as embracing every loving moment she could.

What I struggled with:
The unthinkable business that came to Maddie’s attention
Cruel harsh realities of life

What I loved:
The Sisterhood (OMG, the contents of the little boxes was perfect – they brought on happy tears)
Taking time out for a holiday – perfection when I least expected it
Spanish lessons – Might be a bit hard to stay focused, but a fun way to learn!
Brotherhood, traditions and respecting others
Hurt and the way it was addressed in the book
Imperfections acknowledged but not as a regret
Understanding each other and never fearing to share having a different opinion

read the preface to the book so I knew the story was about dealing with a serious illness with a loved one but I was still not prepared for the depth of both the love and anguish in the story. I am so glad I read the story and I absolutely loved Maddie and Ox’s story but I also cried thru the last third of the book. As always, Susan paints an honest picture of what it’s like to go thru a devastating illness with a loved one and I found myself remembering feelings I thought were long healed when I dealt with my mother's death over 30 years ago. Yet, while there is sorrow in this story, there’s also great joy as Ox and Maddie’s love weathers every storm, where they are clearly loved and cherished by members of the Bulls and as we see a changing of the guard beginning to occur between the original members of the MC and the younger generation who will one day take their place as leaders of the club. I was also really proud of the way Susan handled the racism that comes up in the story, it wasn’t the main focus of the book but it was realistic and what I thought was an accurate portrayal of how some MC’s feel about people from racial-ethnic backgrounds.

This book is riveting and will keep you up until the wee hours, once I started it I couldn’t stop until I finished it. I will never forget this book and I will never forget the love that Maddie and Ox have for each other, it’s one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve ever read.

This book was an absolutely amazing gift to read. I would give this story 100 stars! Every book in this Brazen Bull MC series is top-shelf and I have read all six books (to date) back-to-back. Each book seemed to get better than the one before it which is a testament to Ms. Fanetti’s amazing story-telling. But this book ... this book is just beautifully written and THE BEST BOOK I’ve read this year. I really love this author’s writing style and her way with words. This story has all the feels: happiness, sadness, love, being scared for ones self and for your loved one, loyalty by the MC family, and BIG FAT TEARS! OMG, the tears! I felt the most genuine, deep, emotional kind of love between Ox and Maddie and I love the way the author ended this story. I will definitely read this one again and again.

NEED TISSUES!!!!!
This book is beautifully heartbreaking. This is a hard review to write. I have never gone through anything like this so to put into words is difficult. I cried so many times from their struggles and the love they have for each other.
Ox and Maddie met after she had been hooking for many years. Trying to get away from her abusive pimp proved difficult until Ox steps in and she gets free. They have been together ever since.
Now they have the biggest fight on their hands. They didn't let it bring them down. Ox was willing to do anything for Maddie. Which she feels guilty for the pain he is suffering just so that he can be there for her.
As they try to keep how serious it is to everyone and just live for the moments that they have. It really puts it into perspective that you live for the moments, love why you can and don't leave anything unsaid.
