Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires #9

Compromising the Billionaire

Rate this book
It's hard to believe the sweet blond is a stone cold criminal.
Those lavender eyes. Her lush mouth.
That body.
I won’t be taken in by a sweet pair of tits and long legs.
She’s after my company. She’s after me.
You know what they say about enemies.
I need her close so I can figure out exactly what she’s up to.
It’s all business, I swear.

The more I'm with her, the harder she is to resist.
She's an ice sculpture of a woman: perfect and untouchable.
But I see the spark in her eyes, the fire beneath the surface.
I need her to ignite. Just for me.
What do I do when I discover the truth? She’s everything I suspected her of and worse.
But the real shock?
She’s not the villain in this story.
I am.
Somehow I have to find a way to make it right before I lose the best thing that’s ever happened to me.

Ivy Layne has had her nose stuck in a book since she first learned to decipher the English language. Sometime in her early teens, she stumbled across her first Romance, and the die was cast. These days, she’s neck deep in alpha heroes and the smart, sexy women who love them.

Married to her very own alpha hero (who rubs her back after a long day of typing, but also leaves his socks on the floor). Ivy lives in the mountains of North Carolina where she and her other half are having a blast raising two energetic little boys. I would like to give more than five stars to this book because I've been waiting anxiously for Aiden's story and now that I read the book, I admit, I'm on cloud nine. So let me explain about what I just stated. Aiden is actually the one who sacrificied his life because he had to take care of his siblings after the tragic events that occurred to his family. So he never really thought about his happiness. As a matter of fact, he had a failed marriage behind his back, being married to an emotionless and cold woman. At his company, at the moment, there is a woman who is absolutely intriguing him. She may look like his ex wife but he knows that deep down she is hiding more than she wants to show. What is so confusing to his cousin Cage is the fact that Violet is meddling with Aiden's life behind his back because she has a valid reason (sorry you need to find out the reason because I can't reveal it). Although being aware of the situation, instead of firing her Aiden decides to uncover her schemes by offering her the position of executive assistant at his side. A strategic move? Initially it is but Aiden is completely smitten by her and it will take all his patience to finally convince his family and her that they are meant for one another. Like the previous books of this series, the story is absolutely overwhelming. I enjoyed reading about this family so much. The characters all fit together perfectly. Aiden will finally have his happily ever after and I must say that he deserves it. I was given an advanced copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Aiden Winters is the dedicated head of his family and the CEO of Winters, Inc. Since his parents died, he has felt responsible for his siblings, making sure they traveled the right path, making many decisions for them (because of course he knew what was best for them), and basically being a pain in the butt older brother they all loved dearly. He’s a workaholic who has devoted his life to his family, taking very minimal time for himself and has no time for a relationship.

Violet comes to work for Winters, Inc. under false pretenses and a fake name. She is aloof, polite, efficient and focused. Aiden’s security teams have already realized she’s not who she says she is and have tracked her movements since beginning there. Aiden’s bored with the masses of women he’s already slept with and finds Violet intriguing, smart and beautiful, a puzzle he wants to personally figure out.

Aiden decides to bring her in to his personal admin group to keep a closer eye on her and increase his interactions with her. The more time spent together the more the attraction between them grows. Aiden was more controlling than I remember him from previous books. However, Violet was his match. Although, she did acquiesce to Aiden more than I expected. In return, Violet was able to get Aiden to slow down, decrease his time at work and spend more time with her and his family.

I liked getting to see the other Winters siblings/cousins. Their family gatherings are entertaining.

Gabe was a little excessive in his attitude towards Violet. I understand he didn’t trust her, and with good reason, but I felt his reactions and actions were over the top. Violet held her own with him as well.

Overall, a nice end to this group of Winters siblings and cousins.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC provided by Booksprout and the author.

ROMANCE THAT BURNS WITH FIERY PASSION

COMPROMISING THE BILLIONAIRE - THOUGHT-PROVOKING & BURNS WITH FIERY PASSION. This story surpassed all of my expectations. From start to finish I found it to be absolutely fantastic! Inside; family love, fabulous characters, mystery, betrayal, moments that tug your heartstrings, suspense, tense moments, humor, and toe-curling sensuous romance.

Aiden has been taking care of his family since the age of twenty. He is bossy, a workaholic, protective, wise, charismatic and gorgeous. He is also the head of Winters Co., where the sassy, intelligent, blonde beauty Violet takes a position there for personal reasons. Aiden believes she is a spy of sorts and has his own plans for her. The more time he spends with Violet fiery desires tempt him to melt her icy persona. Their story is one wild ride with a happily ever after that is well deserved.

SUPERB READ and page turner too. Sometimes a story touches your heart and this one touched mine. The reality mixed with fantasy is done fabulously. The characters come alive with dynamic scene descriptions and terrific dialogue. Aiden meets his match with Violet; their chemistry and devotion are quite believable. There were many moments in this story where I found myself cheering. Finding this a most gratifying read {of my own volition without stipulations, I reviewed an advanced copy through Booksprout.} Without reservations, I recommend this read.

Finally Aiden is here!

I have been waiting for this book since I started reading the series. Aiden is the new patriarch of the Winters family and he rose to the occasion admirably. Violet is a mystery to him and when these two connect...watch out! An absolute must read!

When Ivy Layne releases a book, I will put down whatever I am currently reading so I can read it. Highly anticipated book 9 in the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaire series was no exception. Especially excited on the release of Compromising the Billionaire, centered on Aiden Winters, CEO of Winters Incorporated. Aiden became head of the family at the young age of twenty, when his parents and aunt and uncle were murdered. Now that they are all adults and finding love, Aiden cannot seem to lessen his obligations at home or at the office. Even more so when his security team discovers new employee Violet Hartwell is after something. Unable to fire her, Intrigued by this beauty, Aiden doesn’t fire her, promoting her to become one of his assistants. With mystery, romance and a few surprises along with way, Aiden must act fast before they are torn apart forever.

I love this series. I just had a hard time with this one because of the repetition that was unnecessary. I still recommend it though. It was cute and fit well with the others.

4.5 start given for the devlivery of the patriarch of the family he had more in him. . .

I have been patient and it has paid off. Aiden has finally gotten his chance at love again and it was not easy. With his past and ex reminding him that he can't trust anyone at anytime. Things just become difficult for him to see the possibilities of it all. Vilolet had things to overcome herself. She had trust issues and a bit of animosity. The one way for Aiden to check his supisciouns and not cast doubt was to keep Violet close to him. This was not well received, but it did add another level to the story. This was their chance to see more of each other and come to understand more they either of them were currenty grasping .

There were many spots that supported their efforts to be with each other and what their combined efforts could result in. Violet/Vi stood her ground with his family and his ex. The best was the ex. I think she got what she deserved and maybe it could have been a bit more.

I love this series and with each new addition things have you fall in love more with this family and their extended family/friends.

I love, love, love this series - pls never stop writing Ivy ❤️❤️

First off, I have to say I am a big fan! I have read each book as it came out and have enjoyed every member of the Winter’s family and finally we get to read Aiden’s story! I loved it. I couldn’t read it fast enough. If you enjoyed a series where each book is about a member of a large, billionaire family with gut wrenching, heartbreaking downs and amazing ups, this series is for you. Ivy has never, ever disappointed and this is one of my favourites. This story is about Aiden, the family’s leader, their protector, the father figure even though he was a young man barely in his twenties when the family was torn apart - murder, mayhem, suspense, action - and finally we get Aiden’s story. He is a sexy, billionaire, businessman who can seem dark and single minded but is actually fiercely protective, loving, kind and loyal beyond anything else. Start with book 1, I believe it’s free and work through the series, or start here, each book is stand-alone and intertwines with the rest. Highly recommend- you won’t regret

YES, finally we get to read about Aiden. He has is in need of love and long overdue. Violet is a perfect employee and a spy. Aiden has been keeping a close eye and wants to know WHY she is looking into him. So the best way, is to make her his Administrative Assistant. He didn’t expect to want to keep her, Forever. Yes, this story was long overdue and so needed to be told. I enjoyed the twists that came about with Chase and Violet. And Aiden needed a woman that was strong and could push him. Not to work more, but to enjoy life. He had done so much for his family. He needed to find time for himself and Violet.

I loved that we got to see Elizabeth and Violet meet. Vi stood her ground and held on to her man. YEAH!!! Aiden made mistakes that he always did as head of the family but with Vi he needed to realize that she was her own woman and didn’t need his coddling. It was hard to put this book down to work or even sleep. But I did. And we got to see everyone. I was so happy for that. Now we just need to have Chases story told. I’m sure more mystery and bad judgement will arise with that book too. And I will enjoy every bit of it.

FINALLY!!! I have been waiting a long AF time for the oldest brother Aiden story! I am obsessed with him and I am happy how this storyline started and ended. I love the ice queen Violet (fmc) and how Aiden (mmc) had melted her icy personality. Aiden needed help he didn't know he needed reminder about family. The plots I didn't see it coming, and I am glad the transition of going to the next book about Chase (Violet's oldest brother) THE COUNTERFEIT BILLIONAIRE. I do say this is one of my fave book of the series bc I am a sucker for Aiden ♡ I read this on Kindle Unlimited if you are interested!

This is the best one in the series yet. Aiden and Violet’s story is jam packed with beautifully written characters that you cannot help but fall in love with, a storyline that keeps you on the edge of your seat, hot steamy passion that leaps off the pages and so much emotion it had me laughing as well as tearing up. Once again Ivy Layne creates a book about the Winters Family that looks you in from the very first page and you cannot put it down. I highly recommend this book.

AH!!! We FINALLY get Aiden Winter's HEA!!!!! I have LOVED this saga of stories as the talented Ivy Layne has taken us on a journey through books 1-8 and now Aiden, the 'father figure' of his family for the majority of his adult life. Violet is a perfect compliment to him, with her growing throughout the book from one personality type to another...and she's strong enough to push back on the dominant and in-charge Aiden. The family drama and intriqued continued through this book, and I *fingers crossed* hope Chase has a HEA coming soon?! This is my honest review of a voluntarily read ARC that I loved!!!

Love, Love, Love...the best series!

Seeing this book on my e-reader was like waking up on Christmas morning! This story was amazing with just the right amount of suspense, intrigue, angst, and steam. Since I started this series, Aiden's story was the one I couldn't wait to see play out. Ms. Layne did an amazing job detailing and weaving his so that readers knew she was wrapping up all the loose ends. Aiden actually had to learn that even doing things for all the right reasons can just about cost you the love of your life. I am sad to see this one end so soon. I feel like the Winters' family is one I'd love to know and be a part....like the are REAL.This is definitely one to go on a 5-Star #MustRead List. Outstanding work!

OK, so let me start by saying that i absolutely loved this book. Ive been waiting for Aiden's story for a long time. I have read all the stories about his siblings and in each of them was a little here in there of his character but with each book i wanted to know more and more about him.

That being said let me explain what are the reasons why i think this book deserves a 10/10. If you don't want any details or *spoilers* please don't read below this line

1. Aiden is an Alpha male. He is powerful, confident, very attractive, hard working, a shark when it comes to business but extremely protective when it comes to his family and the ones he loves.
When he discovers that Violet Hartwell is working in his company (Winters Inc) and she is spying on him he sets his mind to find out what she wants and to destroy her ; but after seeing her for first time he cant get out of his head. In order to keep a close eye on her decides to make her one of his assistants. He is not afraid to accept that he wants to get involved with who he thinks is his enemy but when things don't go the way he expected and he starts to have feelings for her he is determined to convince her to be his for good. He doesn't care what his family or her brother thinks, he doesn't care that he would be leaving his single life behind, he doesn't care about all the problems that violet might come with, and he certainly doesn't care what his ex-wife or his elite social circle thinks. He is willing to work hard to keep the only woman that has ever stolen his heart.

2. Violet AKA the Ice Queens so composed and impenetrable. She shows no feelings, nothing at all, she is like ice. When she started to start working at Aiden's company to spy on him, find dirt and make him return the company she thinks he stole from her brother she never imagined that she was going to end in Aiden's bed or that she would end up falling in love which who she thought ruined her brother's life.
Her brother being her only family after her parents disowned her was her only support the only person she didn't need to be so cold with, the only person she could be herself, the only person that understood her.
Little by little she discovers that Aiden is not that villain of the story and slowly she lets her guard down, she lets him access the real violet but every time she feels she could get hurt the ice queen comes back and blocks him out. She emotionless and cold even when there is a girl that is dying inside searching for love.

3. OK so Violet is a character i didn't expect at all. To be honest I loved and hated her which i think is a great thing because Ivy Layne was able to transmit so much emotion with this character. It was one of those that you feel for them so much one second and get so angry and annoy you another second later. Violet has a lot of pain inside, she comes form a household where her brother and her were raised without emotions, no love, no caring; they were raised to be perfect to the standard of society so when her brother went against her parents rules he got kicked out the house leaving violet all alone without the only person who ever cared and protected her. After, a couple of years she gets disowned by her parents for not marrying the man her parents wanted; the same man that tried to abuse her (a men which was way older than her).
Her brother takes her to live with him and since then its only been them two. She has no friends, she a lonely girl that now is full of more anger thinking that Aiden stole form the only person who ever loved her.
She is very cold with Aiden and at the beginning i was OK with it but then she continue being like that even knowing that he was a good person and never stole from her brother, she was wrong and lied to him and she was still the ice queen when she should've been humble knowing she was wrong. Then when his family was rightfully suspicious of her she was still ice cold to them not even wanting to earn the love of those that were so important to the men she
was falling in love with. She just had that "i don't care attitude" which I probably wouldn't have mind if i already didn't know all of the other Winter family members characters so in dept. I love each single one of them so much and just seeing violet being so depreciative when they were trying to protect their big brother and cousin, the one who had put his life in hold to raise them after their parents death, the one who was always there to help, protect, and provide for them was infuriating; but then if you saw her point of view she had so much pain it was sad and you understood why she was like that, the little glimpses of feelings the violet gives leaves you loving her.

4. I'm not going to say names but they finally found Ana's missing child and let me tell you i loved i didn't see coming who it was. I hate when stories are predictable and Ivy Lane is amazing at always keeping you wondering what might happen and then surprising you. Ill just say that finding Anna's child will bring a lot of pain to Violet and puts her relationship with Aiden at risk.

5. The Sinclair brothers make an appearance. I love that in each book they always have a part. In this case they help to discover who is Anna's child is and
what Violet is doing working at Winters Inc . I personally think Ivy Layne should go into the Sinclair brothers stories. We already had Axel's story but we need to know more about the other three brothers.

Let me point out that i noticed that it was discovered the Maxwell Sinclair was still alive and not dead like everyone thought. I'm sure Ivy Layne is going to close that part some way or another... Lets see what happens

6. They do get a happy ending and i loved it because it was realistic not like a fairy tale story.

I conclusion i can say i give this book 5 stars; there is mystery and romance and it will keep you hooked. Its longer than the other books which means more amazing moments.
If you haven't read all the other books prior to this one i recommend you to do it so you can understand all the characters in detail and understand all the mixed emotions this book creates. Its not required since the author explain each of the characters a little but you wont regret reading them, and by the time you get to this book you will be sad to know that story of the character you been falling in love with over time is being closed.

Hope you enjoy this book as much i did!! but it you wont regret it

I have a love/frustration with this series. It's intriguing and sexy but the characters actions and personalities sometimes swing all over the place.
It had me put down this book for a few weeks though I did go back and finish.

For instance, what happened to Gage? He was a complete a$$hole and it was not the same guy I loved in his book. The biggest trend in this series is the drama feels like a formula. I don't mind the couples struggling and having road bumps but in addition in almost all (except the first two novellas) there is a huge blow up and one of them (usually the guy) does something so "unforgivable" that she "Never wants to see him again, it's over finito!" And all the other characters gang up on the guy for screwing up. Then he apologizes and is instantly forgiven. Again, I don't mind some bumps along the way the h's aren't perfect and make bad decisions too.

Other parts were wonderful but taking a a break before I read Chase's story.

Ivy Layne books tend to be very wordy when describing a situation, thoughts and emotions. Knowing that, if a question is asked from the H to the h, it may be 2 or 3 minutes before you get the answer (which occurs a few seconds after the question is asked). It drives me crazy sometimes, but I can always skip ahead 10 - 20 seconds at a time.

The reason I docked a star from this story is the the h gets her feelings hurt by two different people towards the end of the book and decides that running away from them and not discussing it is what is best. One, of course, is the H and when he makes a mistake, in her mind, that is it and it is time to move on. He eventually takes the blame and yada yada yada. My problem is that people are going to make mistakes but it is how they respond to the mistakes that shows their character.

End of rant... still love the author!

Violet's weakness and stupidity when it came to Aiden irritated the shit out of me. Plus, there's a thin line between being a sexy alpha male and a sexual harasser. If Violet was sensible and reacted to Aiden as a sane woman should have, Aiden would fall into the later category. For example, when Aiden told her she , being smart and sensible, Violet would have called the HR.

Too repetitive , but a great story

I thought the story line was great, but too repetitive regarding individual secrets.
Like the characters and development of the characters. The multiple tragedies like the murders was a bit much.

Aiden & Violet. I’ve been wanting to read Aidens story since Jacob’s book (book 3). It did not disappoint. I had a hard time putting this one down.

During the purchase of her brother’s company by Winters Inc, contracts on the sale were altered and signed without being reread. Wanting to get his company back after he was screwed, Violet gets a job at Winters Inc and plans to snoop in Aiden’s email and files for some dirt that she can use to force him to return her brother’s company back to him.

Aiden and the security team find out that she wasn’t completely vetted prior to being hired (her resume was BS). Instead of coming out and firing her, Aiden moves her into a position as one of his assistant (he already had 4 but who doesn’t need a 5th). He has her working late on some contracts and ordering in dinners. Realizing she was the only assistant asked to stay late she goes to confront him but his ex-wife walks in. She’s a charming bitch and keeps trying to get back together with Aiden and won’t accept that the ship has sailed and he’s not interest. No problem because Violet informs her bluntly. Aiden then leases Violet to convince his ex that he’s moved on. They are getting hot and heavy but are interrupted. So he asks her to be his date to some charity event (he doesn’t really ask but informs her that she will be his date; then we have a pretty woman moment where he sends over this nice dress and heels for her to wear.

She gets a little toasty off champagne at the event and they leave the party. More hot and heavy in the car then later in a hotel room (his house was a no go when the entire family was there for movie night). He takes her on a business trip to Vegas where we have more sex. On the flight home in the PJ, Aiden finally confronts Violet about her scam she was pulling and wanted her to come clean. He tells her that he knows everything and it doesn’t matter to him. Houston, we have a miscommunication. She thinks he knows about stealing her brother’s company and not caring about him getting screwed but he meant he knew she had been spying on his emails and he didn’t care that she had done that. She sends him her resignation and he shows up at her condo and they have “discussion” (her yelling at him about stealing the company) which ends with Aiden telling her that Winters Inc wasn’t involved in the shady stuff that happened (it was her brother’s former business partner). Meanwhile her brother had come home and when Aiden meets him, he sees that Chase looks a lot like Vance and Aiden takes his hairbrush to have Sinclair see if he was their missing half brother that Anna gave up for adoption. He is. When Aiden goes to tell him it seems that Chase already knew about the adoption and who his mother was (he had come across the adoption paperwork in his parents’ basement). Sensing something is up, Violet asks him about what else he found. Yeah…he had been hiding that she was also adopted. She gets pissed and moves out and in with Aiden.

Violet wants to get the papers regarding her adoption so Aiden and Violet visit the rents/parents. They are a love couple of assholes but Violet manages to find the paperwork. They take it to Sinclair to try and find her birth mother. Despite asking over and over if Sinclair had found anything and being told no, she comes across a paper in Aiden’s desk (while looking for a stamp) with a phone number. She asks Aiden what it was. Yeah, they had found her mother already and didn’t want her to know to “protect” her. Devastated after being lied to by not only Chase but also Aiden, she moves back home with Chase and they go to meet her birth mother. She is a classy bit of trash. Seems she just was a surrogate of 9 babies. A couple would want certain characteristics so she would meet up with a chosen random guy (fitting the bill) and F him until she was preggo. Then turns the baby over and gets paid.

Aiden isn’t taking the breakup well (severe hangover on whiskey). With the help from the sensible people in his life, I.e. the ladies he decides he wants to get her back and tells her that he loves her. That he wants to be a partner in their relationship but knows he will screw up from time to time. Even though she tells him that she may not be able to trust him, I guess the D was too good so she forgives him and they’re back together. Later they are on vacay to Vegas and he proposes. When she says yes he tells her he wants to just get married there in Vegas. He had already flown in the rest of the family for their wedding. HEA!

This was a nice reprieve from all the drama the past 8 books included. Now that the scandal is mostly gone, and there is no more threats to the family or anyone individually this goes back to the simple work place trope and office romance. It was nice to go back to something familiar, something I’ve always liked in general. It was even better that this happens to Aiden and makes sense to start at work because that’s where he spends most of his time anyway. Ivy could have potentially ended the book here because it wraps up all 9 family members and closes the chapter on the last of the scandal and in finding the missing family member. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of reading ahead to see what each book includes after finishing book 3 or 4 that I knew they would find the family member at some point so you get their story in book 10. Normally I would be ecstatic about this, but even though almost all of these books earned a 5 from me, I think I’m actually bored and done with this family. I don’t know if it’s because everything is solved now, or because all the books I’ve literally been waiting for decided to get released this month and I’m behind. Either way, I’m going to read the last book in the Winters Family and then I can come back later on and read about the Sinclair’s which I am really stoked about because they played such a crucial part in this series that I got to know all of them and I want to learn more. Anyway, getting back to Aiden and Violet’s story. At first I didn’t know what to make of Violet. She seemed to carry this veil of anger around her and need to fix what happened to her brother Chase’s company. I didn’t like her at first but I knew there was more to her than that so I gave her the benefit of the doubt and she eventually got me to change my mind about her. Her initial motivation was that she thought Aiden stole the company from her brother and she wanted to get revenge on him for doing them dirty. She maintains this determination up until almost halfway through the book. The facts and everything she thought she knew about it disappear when she finds out from Aiden it was all a big misunderstanding. As soon as this gets realized, that’s when she opens up to Aiden and allows herself to fall for him, effectively losing her “ice queen” personality. In the times that Aiden interacts with her, he becomes a different man. At this point, I’ve only known Aiden as the meddling older brother and cousin who sticks his nose in everyone’s business, effectively making them obey his idea and ways. However, when he meets Violet, his guard is down and he gets this sweet vulnerable side to him that doesn’t want to be lonely and craves a connection that means something. In this instant, I had a whole different view of him. Even though he was strong willed, bossy and wanted to fix things for his family, I liked him as a character. After reading about him with Violet, I liked him even more and like Charlie, I just wanted to see him happy. I enjoyed reading about the softer side of Aiden and how he puts careful thought into how he does things, including making love and the way he worries. He wants those close to him know that he cherishes them and won’t give up. I think I swooned more with him compared to the others. When you combine all this and the relief that the worst you get in this story is the baggage that came with learning about the missing family member and what became of it you definitely earn that 5 rating. I feel like the last book will contain a lot of resentment and trust issues. I just hope it doesn’t have that vibe the whole time.

Okay, I’m just going to say it right up front for all you fans on the Winters Dynasty….. Compromising the Billionaire DOES NOT DISAPPOINT!!!! And Ivy Layne has done it again!!! Nine books and not one is alike. How does she do that??? They are all so cleverly written, but all so intertwined that by now, you feel like you know each member of this family intimately. An amazing read and a book not to miss!

And now it’s Aiden Winters' turn. FINALLY!

Like a lot of you, I have been waiting, and waiting and waiting for Aiden’s story since Ivy started writing this series. I could always envision him….tall, dark, handsome, brooding, cool eyes that were always looking over the family he needed to protect, thrust into the role of “patriarch” at an incredibly young age. The man, who at the age of 20 due to family tragedy upon family tragedy, had to step up and become the father, the mother, the leader, the caretaker of this incredible family. He has three siblings to care for; four cousins to fold into the family; everyone looking to Aiden to lead the way. He had the family dynasty entrusted to him to maintain, a legacy that needs “shoring up” from a terrible tragedy and a future to secure for his family. To say this man had the weight of the world thrust upon his shoulders is an understatement.

Shrewd and savvy, Aiden is “sex on a stick” with looks that could kill. He has it all or so we think. Aiden is now in his early thirties and has risen to the challenge of leading the Winters Family. Has he done it well? Most definitely. Has he made mistakes along the way? You bet. But his family is still together and fiercely loyal to one another. And they are safe. Something that is no small feat for a family that has been in the public eye for over 20 years.

Now Aiden is catching his breath, so to speak. Siblings and cousins are getting married; the perpetrator of those past tragedies has been caught, but something is missing for Aiden. He can’t seem to let go of his patriarchal position. There are still mysteries going on that he can’t put his finger on, and that’s when a certain women catches his eye.

Violet Hartwell. Things aren’t adding up with her. She’s cool and collected, but hard working and efficient. And the more Aiden checks into her, the more he’s intrigued with her. He can’t resist her. He wants her. So, in the old adage of “keep your friends close, and your enemies closer”, he makes Violet Hartwell one of his assistants. And we all know, what Aiden wants, he gets! Little did he know that he would get a woman who challenges him, makes him come alive and draws him to a "light" he did not know existed.

This book is full of hot and spicy chemistry, truly swoon-worthy romance, sizzling sex, and sweet and tender love between our main characters as only Ivy Layne can write. A wonderful and culminating addition to the Scandals of the Bad Boy Billionaires Series. I’m sad to see it end. Truly!!!

Oh, and this is a side note to Ivy………Jacob and Abigail are STILL NOT MARRIED! Ivy…..you’ve got to wrap this up. They have been planning this unbelievable wedding for 6 books!! Is the series really over???

Aiden Winter is CEO and head of the family company, Winter Inc., that was started by his father and uncle. The company just acquired a new company, CD4 Analytics and also hired new employees and one such employee is Violet (Hartwell) Westbrook, but Aiden found out some interesting thing about her. Violet has been snooping into folders, places and emails, she shouldn't be in, in order to find some dirt on Aiden Winter. Aiden knows she is snooping around and is on a mission to keep her close and to find out what she is looking for by promoting Violet to one of his personal assistant. Violet Westbrook was hired 5 weeks ago and her main propose, getting a job at Winter Inc., to fine some dirt on AIden Winter and to force him to give back her brother, Chases company, CD4 Analytics that Aiden took from him. By looking at files and searching through Aidens emails , Violet hopes to find information of any kind. After several weeks working as Aiden P.A., all she came up with was Aiden was a hard working person who was kind to his employees, give them praise when they deserve it and loves his family and is looking for a missing member of their family. The more time Aiden works with Violet, the more he becomes attached to her and Gage, his cousin and vice president, distrust Violet, telling Aiden, Violet will take him and the company down. Until one Monday morning after spending a weekend in Vegas and after a fight with Aiden about Violets lying about why she is working for him, Violet decides she is going to quit, only to be surprise by her brother coming by home early from a job, that kept him on the road several months. Now Chase has to face a family he didn't wanted to face and have his sister learn the truth about their family and the Winter family.
This was my favorite book about the Winter family. It was well written, great characters, and interesting storyline. It only makes me wonder what is next for Ivy Layne to write about, and I can't wait to find out.
I am volunteering to leave a review for a ARC of this book.

Comprising the Billionaire is a very satisfying conclusion to a brilliant series.

Of all the cousins in the Winters family, Aiden is the one who intrigued me the most. He’s the bedrock of the family, loyal to the last but pragmatic in his approach. In this book, which is longer than the other in the series, we see more of the man and less of the mogul.

Ivy Layne writes strong women and Violet is no exception. She’s determined to get justice for her brother Chase and has her sights firmly set on those responsible for cheating him out of his company. Without filling the review with spoilers, let’s just say that Aiden’s life, both professional and personal, will never be the same again. Both Aiden and Violet are strong, determined and driven characters and their journey, with some uncomfortable truths particularly for Aiden along the way, made for an excellent story. Ivy Layne writes with a deftness of touch, with a few clues sprinkled here and there throughout the plot to keep our brains working overtime guessing the denouement. This book was part mystery, part romance, part industrial espionage and business shenanigans but totally 100% riveting.

I’ve read this series from the very start and in this book you get updates on most of the earlier main characters, plus a few new ones. This was one book I really didn’t want to end because I didn’t want to lose contact with the fascinating Winters family. Luckily there is more to come featuring peripheral characters such as the Sinclairs as the main protagonists. In the meantime I have heard rumours of a book featuring Violet’s brother Chase for those members of Ivy’s reading group. Details on joining are in the back of her books and on her website/facebook pages. I joined this and the ARC group mid way through the series and I have not been disappointed. I read an ARC of Compromising the Billionaire for an honest review.

Compromising the Billionaire, by Ivy Layne is a 406-page contemporary romance novel and is the ninth book out of a 10-part series (other reviews can be found below). And since this is a 10-part series, you can expect reviews by this author pretty back to back for the next few weeks as I go through the books. It is written from a first-person POV, two-sided.

Ivy Layne is an author who generally writes dirty, dirty sex scenes. So if you're someone who is looking for some dirty read (which there is nothing wrong with that) this is the book for you. I will warn you ahead of time if you are reading this series, this book in particular had A LOT of sex.

Spoilers Ahead ***

FINALLY I've been waiting for Aiden's story for ages. Why? Out of all the Winters clan he is the most aloof, or at least that is how he appears. His character for the past eight books has shown that he is controlling, but you know he does it because he cares about his siblings and cousins. So who does he fall for? Her name is Violet and she is trying to find the dirt on Aiden to take him down for stealing her brother's company.

So it's a little bit of attempted corporate espionage and a lot of Aiden being alpha. Overall, it is a fun read, not as intense as the other books prior because the murder has been taken care of. The intent of this book is to introduce the Sinclair family and to introduce who the missing Winters is.

You find out how tightly tied together the Sinclair and Winters family are between their family using them for not only security, but adoption. They discover that Violet is adopted as is her brother, Chase (the missing Winters son and brother to Gage, Vance, and Annalise), that's a whole other storyline that takes you down the path of the Sinclair family. All you need to know is Violet and Aiden have power struggles throughout the book and the final book after this one will be about Chase.

In summary, I give this a 4 out of 5.

Enjoyable

Aiden Winters is a man in charge; of his family, his company and his life. Violet Hartwell is a woman on a mission; digging into everything Aiden Winters in order to find some leverage that will force Winters into giving her brother Chase, his company back. A company that was taken with underhanded dealings by the Winters. Unbeknownst to her, Aiden has been aware of Violet's actions and has decided to keep her close by making her one of his assistants. He's also quite taken with her and sees the woman beneath her ice queen facade. No matter how hard she tries, Violet is unable to obtain any kind of dirt on Aiden but that's not saying he's not an ass at times. Eventually, Aiden tries to get Violet to tell him the complete truth. Unfortunately what he says and what she hears are two different things and Violet walks away. When Aiden shows up at her house the next day he is stunned to meet her brother Chase who is a doppelganger for one of his cousins. Aiden sets out to discover if Chase is the missing cousin they've been looking for and to rectify the situation that is finally set before him by Violet's explanation of her spying on him. There's a long sordid history involving Chase's fraternity and the nefarious Maxwell. In addition, Violet finds out that she too is adopted and is devastated when she learns that her brother has known for many years. Eventually violet needs to find her roots and when she discovers that Aiden has been keeping the truth from her she's devastated. He too is inconsolable at what could be the loss of the love of his life. Eventually, all things are explained, apologies are made and reconciliation is accomplished. Violet wants to be a partner in her relationship and not have to be dependent on Aiden. When he finally ate proposes she does except and they get their HEA.

Aiden’s story was the one Winters family members story I could not wait to read. I loved what Aiden did for his entire family since he was 20 years old! He raised his siblings and cousins after each set of parents have been killed. Years later everyone has a significant other and Aiden is still the workaholic that he’s always been. One day Violet is hired and after another search somethings don’t come back clean and Gage wants Aiden to fire Violet. Aiden makes her his assistant to keep her close before he lets her go. Violet feels the bad deal with her brothers company is Aiden’s fault and she is there to find proof only she can’t. Gage is not happy and Aiden decides he wants to figure her out and keeps her. Along the way Violet and Aiden work together after hours and things get heated between them and they both enjoy those times they are together. They start a relationship and Violet believes Aiden will always tell her truth after all the lies that have come to light from her brother, Chase. Aiden knows what he wants and Violet is able to get Aiden to leave his work for his family dinners! Violet and Chase grew up with some really mean parents and their story leads Violet down a path with more heartache. I loved how Chase and Aiden have the same protectiveness but will Aiden’s way of handling the truth come back to haunt him? There are several twist and more secrets revealed about the Winters family so be ready to read this one and not be able to put it down! You will enjoy knowing that Aunt Amelia is still up to her old tricks. Can Aiden turn over a new leaf and become the man Violet knows is inside him or will his mind not listen to his heart, and his sister and cousin??
