I found this book in a secondhand shop. I genuinely enjoyed every adventure Ossian and Samuel had. The magical creatures were a delight, and I was particularly captivated by the mysterious Petronnella.
What struck me most profoundly was the strong, provocative emotion surrounding Samuel and Ossian's parents—their dilemma between their children and their work schedules. It was harsh to read, but it reflected a difficult reality. While life doesn't always offer magical solutions or fairy-tale endings, this book managed to deliver a deeply satisfying one. It ended with that beautiful scene of a happy family spending Christmas Eve together, which felt both earned and heartwarming.
