3 years after meeting at the family BBQ Alex and JT meet again and the electricity between them is rekindled. Complicated by both men entering into a marriage of convenience for a **** load of cash for Alex and a mediocre amount for JT you can tell this is more than the money if only they will open u to each other. All in all story dealt with wonderfully with two awkward men (in dealing with their feelings) fall in love and boy do they and the sex along the way.... Oh boy oh boy oh boy. Enjoyed Austin. I'll be back for more....😀

Ok

It was ok, a number of typos and the writing was a bit clunky at times. I have read much better Bates books.

Meh. I really liked the first half of this book, but during the second half my mental rating dropper steadily and by the end I was just glad it was over.

So the writing style was good and the plot seemed promising with a lot of potential for different kinds of conflicts. What came of it was really disappointing.

First, the characters: Especially Alec didn't really seem to have much character. Apparantly he has no job, no hobbies, no friends, no interests in anything in particular. As for the other almost equally plain characters, their motives weren't explained well which would have been important, because they seem to make no sense at all.
Which is also true for a lot of the plot lines as a whole - I'm having real difficulties to summarize which of those were actually important to this story.
First there is the father's will with the stipulation of producing a male heir. I expected the rivalry between the brothers to be of importance here. What happened was, that they summoned Alex to two meetings where they actually didn't have anything to say and then they just disappeared from the book after maybe a third of the story never to be seen again.
I expected the money to be of importance to the story since this is the reason for the relationship in the first place - and having a child to get to that money is a rather severe decision in my book. Turns out that both Alec and JT solve their money issues differently way before any child is born. And they do this without major trouble apparantly, since it isn't even worth any screentime or much explanation.
Also the relationship drama was very forced and blown out of proportion. This whole book doesn't contain a single problem that couldn't be solved easily with just basic communication actually. But after every fight the couple had they didn't adress or solve any issues, they just had sex instead. It got frustrating and boring fast.
And on top of it all there were quite some grammarly as well as logical mistakes throughout the book.

First off there were quite a few grammatical hiccups. Some sentences just didn't read well and the correct actions of the characters weren't being conveyed. It made a few passages confusing to read and there were several times in which I had to got back and reread either because the sentence made no sense or something happened off page and there was a scene change making me think I missed something occurring. The distinction of things in scenes made things a bit confusing ex. type of car that was driven (e.g. a luxury sedan is a sedan why did it matter Alec took his mother's Mercedes and not his own sedan. I don't know cars that well so I had to make sure when sedan was use to describe the Mercedes this wasn't a mistake) or how much debt Wren and JT owed. (e.g. JT was told by the female loanshark that Wren owed her 30k. When JT confronts Wren he tells him it's 12k JT is never told the interest amount but JT asks 30k? after Wren mumbles his debt is just 12K. Why mention the 30k at all since only 12k was needed to pay off the debt and this generous loan shark didn't collect on interest???).

As for the story it started off well, I was enjoying it. Then I got about halfway into the book. I'm going to say 43-45% into the read. Wren behavior, JT unwillingness to communicate to anyone the ordeal Wren got them into and Alec quiet shy demeanor started getting at me in the face of everything that was unfolding. I was annoyed and hurt for Alec that his alpha, his husband, lover and protector didn't much care to protect Alec as he should. He split a lot of his time trying to make sure Wren came out okay even though Wren didn't give a shit about himself or for JT. Wren didn't give any consideration to JT, he wasn't much of as friend, he didn't appear to be trying to pay off his debt and when it came down to JT and Alec's relationship he wasn't supportive going so far as to telling JT he's a fuck up who ruins everything that comes into his life and doesn't deserve someone like Alec.

Alec seemed to have the personality and traits of wallpaper. I mean this literally, his on paper presence in the book was practically nonexistent even when he was in the scene. There's an awareness he's there but you can just pass over him like you do bland wallpaper. I wanted more fire from him especially when JT was leaving him out of the loop and then doing what he did and barely groveling. He came off as a character who should be walked all over,he wasa pushover.

Wren was a interloper and I wanted JT to just end his awkward relationship with him. The MC was suppose to be a family and JT and Wren wasn't taking advantage of it even though their problem could have blown up and become the MC's issues and endangered everyone involved not just JT and Alec.

I also didn't like that the problems between JT and Alec were resolved so easily. It just all wrapped up so quickly and so prettily in a nice little bow. It seemed like the right mature answer/action was to just let everything go, love will prevail even though JT had picked his friendship/ex-lover over his mate and unrequited love of 3 yrs. The great solution of communicating ones intentions would make for a happy future even if the mate was to disagree and fuss about it.

Another thing that bugged me about the book was the sense of time that seemed to pass which goes back to the disjointed passages because things were happening off page and resuming an act/scene later in the next paragraph.

By the end of it I really wished that JT and Alec relationship had just ended and Alec moved on and found someone new.

I know my review is coming off negative but it really wasn't that bad a read. There were certainly parts about it I enjoyed. I enjoyed the first third and Alec's mother seemed like a really cool and supportive figure. The end was cute.

An ARC was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.

Omega Alec Edwards needs the money from his late father's inheritance to help his mother get the surgery she needs after a horrible car accident leaves her scarred. In order to do that he needs to get a husband and have a son. He has no prospects until he runs into the Alpha that caught his attention a few years back.

Alpha JT is looking for a way to get his best friend, and former lover, out of a bad situation. He needs a lot of money fast and knows no matter how much he saves, or how many other jobs he gets will make a dent in the amount he needs. Fate intervenes when the Omega he hasn't been able to forget comes back into his life. Alec overheard JT talking to someone about needing money so he makes JT an offer he can't refuse...marry him and give him a son.

They quickly get married so they can get started on the baby making. It is a race between Alec and his half brothers to see who can get that male heir first. What turns out to be a marriage of convenience quickly becomes more than both of them bargained for.

From start to finish this book had me hooked. I couldn't put it down. I read the previous book in the series and really enjoyed it, but this one I must say is my favorite so far. I felt like there was more character development and I felt connected to them on a deeper level. The one thing I will say I missed in this story though was getting to know JT more. Even though we caught a glimpse of his past, he was an emotional mystery (if that makes sense). This in no way took anything away from the story, but I just felt that his character could have been so much more. I loved the chemistry between Alec and JT, especially in the beginning of the book at the BBQ. Talk about fireworks. I was sad to reach the ending, as I was not ready to say goodbye to these characters.

Hot stuff.

Alec met JT and Parrot at a biker bbq 3 years earlier and JT and Alec never forgot each other. JT meets him again by total coincidence doing a favor for Parrot his friend and roommate. At the reading of his late fathers will with his 2 half brothers he is left well off but the bulk of the fortune will go to the first one who gets married and produces a male heir but seeing he's only the bastard son of his father's ex model mistress his brothers want to pay him off so he'll stay out of it so they can split it, he's an extra hurdle the brothers don't need in the way of their greed . Irked by his brothers dismissive attitude of him Alec decides to offer an arrangement to JT who turns him down at first only to change his mind when he sees what a beaten mess Parrot is ,having gotten in deep with loan sharks and a debt he can't repay. JT moves into Alecs house, plans unfold and the charade begins to come to life starting with them getting married and trying for an heir. They have some teething troubles but keep pushing on through Alecs brothers trying to stir up trouble and become more bonded as their feelings develop. Parrots problems start to spill onto the pair in a shocking way causing JT to reevaluate his marriage to keep Alec safe, but loves him too much to stay away and makes a beautiful declaration to keep him and his family, to give them their over due HEA. Very enjoyable, plot and storyline continually flowed to get you invested in the ending. I received a free advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

J.T met Alec 3 years ago when he picked the omega off the ground because of his sprained ankle and J.T has never forgotten him. Now Alec’s father has died and in the will it states that either Alec or his stepbrothers marry and have a male heir and when they do they will inherit 200 million dollars. Alec’s stepbrothers Andrew and Zander hate Alec because he is the bastard child of their father and they believe that he doesn’t deserve any of that money. Alec meets up with J.T again and Alec propositions J.T and J.T considers the marriage proposal and after awhile he accepts because he needs to help his friend and ex lover with the money. That’s all I’m giving you guys, this was such a fantastic love story with some pretty hot scorching scenes. I loved this story and I know you will too, there’s drama, suspense, danger and plenty more to keep you entertained and turning the pages. This story grabbed me from the 1st page and wouldn’t let me go until the end and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read and this story deserves more than 5 ⭐️.

It simply did not click with me. . .

I struggled to get through this book - I really tried. However, the characters were stagnant almost, as though they couldn't think of original lines, comments, and conversational dialogue that went beyond the same, banal greetings and already delivered attempts. So much went on INSIDE their heads, yet the writer went on for pages about JT's inability and unwillingness to say anything or elaborate further, when Alec should have had the right to such information as his husband. After bailing Parrot out, JT really didn't owe him anything more. He was a bad habit JT didn't know how to quit.

So, rather than spew about how much everything in the book annoyed me, and how glad I am that men don't really give birth given the behavior of our two idiots, I'll just reiterate how much all the characters annoyed and frustrated me with inane mannerisms and greedy motivations. The half brothers, Parrot, the loan shark/cougar -all bottom feeders.

I'm so in love with this book!

Jeremy and Alec were a fated mate. They met three years before the second fateful meeting. Their marriage were based on contract, but the seed of love was planted long before the contract.
Alec had a loving, ex-supermodel mother and two alphas half-brothers. His father had recently passed away and left the deed of a sum of big money to his child who had produced male heir within a legal marriage. And so the offer to Jeremy a.k.a. JT was made.
JT was a member of M(otorcycle) C(lub) and his room-mate/friend/ex-lover was in a big debt and so he needed money in a big amount. Fast. A sole reason he received Alec's over.

There are conflicts here and there but the source of a big fight was from they themselves. Too much sex for my liking but I still enjoyed reading this book.
Other than that it's good. Doesn't leave me with wonders and questions.

I so wanted to like this book more! It started nice, meeting over a barbecue, then meeting again by chance 3 years later. Then came the inheritance problem, add in two mean brothers, a mother that needs surgery and I thought, nothing could go wrong. They got married. And as I kept reading everything just felt wrong. I was about 52% in and I just thought, something should happen soon. And nothing did. I had the feeling that even when something did happen, it was forced, it had no impact. I could not connect to the characters and that made everything lacking.

read this book as part of an arc program. I liked most of the book, was a bit to much drama and emotional scenes between omega Alec and alpha Tj for my taste. Except from all the drama i liked the chemistry, and the way the MC interacted with each other. Alec needs to mate, marry and produce a male heir to get his heritage. The first one of Alec and his brothers that produce a male heir gets all the money. Alec needs the money to help out his mother and is getting desperate. He meets Tj again after 3 years and still wants the Alpha. He finds out that JT needs a job and offers him one as his mate. Tj is struggling with his relationship with his friend parrot and wants to help out parrot. Witch adds more complication to Alec and Tj relationship.

I loved this book as I do most of this author. From the moment they met, Alec and JT have chemistry. Alec needs money to help with his mothers injuries but Alec's father died leaving a will with conditions requiring marriage and an heir. JT's best friend is in trouble that requires money now. Alec asks JT to marry him and help him produce an heir so he can get his inheritance. However, their chemistry is off the charts and feelings are starting to emerge. Alec strikes a deal with JT to get the inheritance. Neither thought that they would fall in love but as with a lot of "arranged" marriages they do.

I was offered an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This is so cute and sexy with just a little dirty. I did get a little annoyed at how our Alpha JT handled things (almost obstinate uncommunicative)but how he made up for it was great. Love the first meeting of our couple kind of a tease. The whole thing with our omega’s mother was a bit weird but I guess with paparazzi and grief and money it kind of fit. I was very happy with how Alec handles the whole inheritance issue at the end :) honestly I liked Alec more as a character than JT but overall JT was still a good “bad boy”.

I was liking this one, even though some information didn't make sense - like the loan, first it was thirty and then twelve. Also, Alec was shy at the beginning and then he was very straight towards sex and initiating. While the brothers were initially as a 'villain' I actually liked them but didn't like Wren and his stuck-up feelings for JT. And then JT leaving Alec for no reason and then expecting to be accepted. I didn't like it as much by the middle of the story.

Good book I would read more of this author.

The complex emotionaltion where spot on. The conflict in the story was ok I feel there was to many and because of that it lack details and depth. The moms part just did not add to the story. I like when story centers around the main character working through personal issue together and not just causing miss communication and rifs in the new buding relationship. If it was not for that I would have given it 5 stars.

MM. Alec wants to help his mother and needs money to do so. His father's will demands a wedding and a male heir. Meeting JT for a second time give Alex a plan. JT has issues and needs as well for the money. JT is less than honest with Alec, even after he confronts him. Alec's half-brothers are horrible. Explicit. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Satisfying

A book is only as good as it's writer's inspiration . This book seemed to be inspired by the struggles of emotions when love and communication don't go hand in hand . It was satisfying to read a story based so closely to real life emotional struggles into today's society .

Marry for Money

When Alec's Father died, as the bastard son he was at the mercy of his step-brothers. The first of the three to be married and have a male heir got the big bucks. JT needed money to bail out his bestie. I liked the two main characters but the marriage for money bugged me. I'm glad they fell in love.

Great read

The books is great in true Austin fashion and would recommend you read. The guys take a while to get it together with issues along the way that are fun to read. But just like in true life if it happens to quickly and without great thought you should run from it. Good indication you are in lust not love.

Good but need to tighten up on editing

I really enjoy this book and the rhythm of the writing. However, there were a few times when there was an error whether it was the amount of money or the wrong city, etc. As a result, I was taken out of the story and then confused. It didn’t happen too many times but enough to mention in this review. I recommend it though. Great story.

Bad boys and the shy guys who love them!

I absolutely loved this story and I hope this is the beginning of a new series. The struggle to bring all of the problems and stresses together and overcome them took some overwhelming patients and care from the characters. Austin Bates has done it again! Way to go!

The inheritance!

He was seventeen when he felt an attraction to a stranger who helped him from a fall.
Three years later they meet again and the same attraction is there. The Alphas mind is saying Mine!
Then the Omega makes an offer of a pretend marriage. This love story is well worth reading.

Worth Your Time!

This is one of those stories that I want to join my paperback collection. It had everything I was looking for and Mr. Bates wrote it so well, in my opinion, definitely 5 stars!

The sex was great and of course there's just enough drama between the pair (and not overdone drama either, I hate that) to keep me invested to the HEA at the end.

Such a sweet romance

Alec and JT was a great couple once JT realized how he felt about his mate. If he'd been open and honest from the beginning, then he might not have lost Alec. This book was very well written and kept wanting to yell at the characters about being open and honest.

A decent enough read.

Whilst I enjoyed this book I didn't think it was one of the authors best stories.

I can't put my finger on it but the characters and the story just didn't fit as well as I was expecting.

Still a decent read though.
