Travis never expected to meet the love of his life, especially not with a guy like Gary-his very own Superass. But now that he has, he's not letting him go.
He's got the ring and a plan.
But when his proposal during the biggest fundraiser of the summer doesn't go as expected, it's up to familiar friends to make sure this day ends with someone putting a ring on it.
Because these guys know the hardest thing about love is simply FINDING IT.
*This 17,000-word Metropolis story contains adorable antics, sexy shenanigans, and a fabulous HEA.*
Riley Hart is the girl who wears her heart on her sleeve. She's a hopeless romantic. A lover of sexy stories, passionate men, and writing about all the trouble they can get into together. If she's not writing, you'll probably find her reading.
Riley lives in California with her awesome family, who she is thankful for everyday.
Travis and Gary will forever be my favorite couple in this series. I absolutely loved their story and none that followed compared to its greatness. I was pleasantly surprised when this one showed up in my feed. I one-clicked this BB real quick but I didn't read it until I had myself a re-read of the first story. This book gave me a great excuse (not that I needed one) to visit one of my favorite couples again.
If you've read the previous books and enjoyed them then you will for sure enjoy this fun short sexy read. The whole gang is in it making sure Superass and Trav get the proposal they both deserve.
This was a sweet and sexy little interlude, following book one couple, Travis and Gary, as they survive a comedy of errors during a fundraiser they’ve put together where each plans on secretly proposing to the other.
It was fun to see all the gang back, together, happy and thriving. There was plenty of banter and cheekiness, plenty of sweet moments of friendship, and plenty of romance and heat between Gary and Trav.
Just what these in between stories are made for - a chance to catch up on a favorite couple to see them thriving and happy and ready to make the final commitment!
Travis and Gary are both ready to take the next step, not knowing that the other is secretly planning the exact same thing.
Fun sexy and quite romantic, Metropolis fans won’t be disappointed!
I'm not really a fan of reading about proposals, so a novella that's all about proposing is never really going to be my thing! That said, it was funny, and very typical Gary and Travis behaviour, but yeah I'm just never excited to read proposals, especially super public ones!!
A comedy of errors throughout this cute short will remind you why Gary and Travis are so good together. This is a good short to catch up on Gary and Travis before delving into Evan and Frankie.
Oh what a fun little story. I love Travis and Gary. They're so cute and fun I enjoyed this look into their lives, to see how much they've grown. So good to read them getting engaged and a little angst with Travis losing the ring and Gary getting locked in the storage closet with Frankie and that friendship grows. You also see Travis start to trust Evan after he started hanging out with their group of friends.
I picked this up as a bit of a pallet cleanser admits a string of mpreg books. It was perfect!
Lighthearted and full of feelz, we spend the day with Gary and Travis as they tackle their biggest fundraiser thus far, as well as a dual proposal.
Of course, everything gets turned upside down until the Scooby Doo Gang comes in to save the day.
For me, this was a fantastic departure from the last book in the series—I couldn’t stand Derek. I only had to listen to him say ‘Daddy’ twice in this one; and ‘hole’ only once.
I’m guessing the next book will focus on Frankie and Evan and should make for a good read.
Finding It was a really cute and sweet novella. I loved catching up with the boys of the series, and I loved how hard Gary and Travis wanted everything to be perfect for what they had planned for each other. I'm looking forward to Evan and Frankie's book.
What a fantastic surprise!! Excellent read!! I'm not giving anything away...you MUST read this!! It funny, sweet, romantic and sexy hot!! So much fun spending time with the Metropolis boys!!
I loved this novella that takes place between book 3 and 4! I love that it had all of the guys and all of the couples together, and I loved getting to see where they all are after they first got their HEAs.
Travis and Gary are just great together, and Derek and Jackson continue to steal the scenes that they are in. I adore this group of guys and love seeing them all happy together!
Big things come in small packages, or so they say. This didn't read like a novella, but rather a full length book. An absolute MUST for anyone that read Faking It or for fans of the series in general!!
This novella was everything! It made my Grinchy-heart grow three sizes and I swear my face was starting to hurt while reading it from smiling so much. The gang is all back but the real stars of this story were obviously Gary and Travis who are so delightfully in-sync with each other it had my heart soaring.
The boys are all back to help Gary and Travis put on a huge fundraiser event. During the event, Travis plans to surprise Gary with a proposal but a series of unfortunate events shows both Travis and Gary what's important. First, Travis lost the ring, then the caterer is a no show, suddenly Gary disappears, and over the course of the story you see that all the nerves that were built up slowly melt away. You can't have some elaborate speech memorized when it comes it love and in the end, you have to speak from the heart. *cue the swoon*
These two are so stupidly perfect together, I just want to hug them both! I am still smiling as I write this review. My initial resentment towards Evan melted away over the course of this story and I am actually excited to see what happens to him next. Derek and Jackson are still their naughty selves but my favorite ride or die couple will be Hayden and Cody. I just love everything about this series!
Great story of Gary and Travis, each planning to surprise the other with a proposal. Problem is both have things preventing them from getting to do it the way they planned.
The whole gang is present, including Evan and Frankie who are now roomies and haven't had their own story yet.
Really nice, but definitely needs to be read after the first three. No standalone for this one.
That was the cutest chaotic proposal ever!!!! Gary and Travis are so in love it’s adorable!!!! I loved seeing the gang and how they have brought Frankie and Evan into their little family!! Onto the next book!!
This is the perfect icing on the Metropolis cake for Gary & Travis and the Metropolis Family. Please note anytime ppl make plans for the perfect outcome...the universe laughs! The next story in this series should be Frankie & Evans!
‘Trav and I worked hard to put that together, and we found out that we enjoyed planning these fundraisers’
Southern gentleman Devon McCormack grew up in the Georgia and according to his biographical information from a very young age ‘he spun tales the old fashioned way, lying to anyone and everyone he encountered. He claimed he was an orphan. He claimed to be a king from another planet. He claimed to have supernatural powers. He has since harnessed this penchant for tall tales by crafting whole worlds where he can live out whatever fantasy he chooses.’ Devon is a gay man and focuses on gay male characters. In this book FINDING IT- Book 3.5 of their Metropolis Series (FAKING IT was Book 1) he joins California author Riley Hart who states she is a hopeless romantic, ‘a lover of sexy stories, passionate men, and writing about all the trouble they can get into together.’ The team works very well together!
Somehow Riley and Devon understand the varieties of interpersonal relationships between same sex matches and they put this all in a macrocosm of a dwelling place that caters only to gay men. In lesser hands the idea of a fundraiser for gays alone would stretch credibility, but Riley and Devon make it work – very well – and add a hefty does of erotica to the scheme!
The story is very brief – 73 pages - and the brevity just makes the resolution that much more satisfying.
The synopsis makes the story clear: Will you marry me, Gary? Travis never expected to meet the love of his life, especially not with a guy like Gary-his very own Superman. But now that he has, he's not letting him go. He's got the ring and a plan. But when his proposal during the biggest fundraiser of the summer doesn't go as expected, it's up to familiar friends to make sure this day ends with someone putting a ring on it. Because these guys know the hardest thing about love is simply FINDING IT.’’
This is very fine writing and the voice sounds like one author instead of two – a factor which is as high a compliment one can pay to a duo who have joined efforts to write one book!
Rounded up to 4 stars. "Finding It" is a must read novella in the Metropolis series by Riley Hart and Devon McCormack. In this important interlude, we find Gary and Travis about to make a huge commitment to each other, but not before we have a fiance that loses a ring, a fiance getting locked in a closet, and a host of friends determined to help make this important day go off without a hitch. They say "It takes a village to raise a child", well it takes ALL the Metropolis men to help make an important, pivotal day go off without a hitch. Meaningful and heartfelt, this story shows Gary and Travis coming full circle. It's a humorous, emotional read that reminds us why we adore the Metropolis men so damned much.
Gary and Travis have enough to worry about organising their biggest fundraiser ever. On top of this, both are supremely nervous about proposing to each other. With catering issues, lost rings, and lost boyfriends, can anything go right? I’ve recently listened to the first three Metropolis audiobooks and even I had to refresh my memory about who was who in this ensemble story, so this can’t be read as a standalone. Apart from that, this is a very satisfying super-sweet catch-up with all eight main characters. I was sort of surprised at how anxious Travis was, it didn’t quite seem to match his always-cocky character, but this was probably the biggest moment of his life so far. Audio narrator Michael Dean is superb as always.
What a great way to revisit all our beloved characters...with a proposal. Everything that can possibly go wrong will & does go wrong for these two before either can get on bended knee. Life throws a bucket full of hijinks at these boys as they attempt to get the other to the perfect place to share their perfect moment. But we all know what is said about the best laid plans...
This adventure is fun and quirky but in the end our MC's find their perfect moment in each other as they begin their HEA.
A fun snippet to wet our appetite for Evan and Frankie's stoty. Should be interesting...until then!
I had fallen in love with the boys in Metropolis almost a year ago and let me just say this new short was just what this series needed. Always enjoyed reading the softer side of Travis. Travis and Gary are just cute beyond words. They have such a strong bond. As always the other characters are a treat to read and hadn't lost any of their charming personalities. I was really pleased to read the group had expanded to include Evan and Frankie. So happy that this was created. Now I need to read the series all over again. :)
Gary and Travis are the greatest couple. I was so happy to be involved in one more hilarious drama filled day!! The Metropolis Series is filled with friends, passion, happily ever after and tons of laughter. I so enjoyed this entertaining, funny day with the gang. Please don't let this be the last story, what about Evan and Frankie finding their forever men??? I HIGHLY, HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS GEM OF A SHORT AS I ALWAYS RECOMMEND THIS FABULOUS SERIES!!!!!
I love that we get to see the two boys who started this whole series off in this surprise novella. Derek & Gary love each other so much so that they both secretly are planning on proposing to the other at an event they both are working on. But self doubt and fears set in for both but with the help from the rest of the Metropolis crew and a few glitches along the way, they both get to surprise the other.
Gary and Travis get their ring and forever commitment. Aww lovely read. Nice story to catch up with Gary and Travis, as they host another charity event and both decide to formalize their love commitment. It's fun, fast paced and a touch of drama.
I'd give 4 stars, nice to catch up with the couple. Would be nice for a longer book to have this as a free bonus chapter associated with book1.
