I love this series, so I was super excited for a follow up to everything that went down in the last book. I was not prepared for the emotional roller coaster in this one. The battle is not yet done, and there is still so much at stake. My heart broke for Thane, but that ending made me so happy. And Eshe and Lome?!? I still can't get over it. I just really love these characters.

This is such a bittersweet ending to Thane's story arc. It is so hard to watch what he goes through after losing Bella. Des' idiocy doesn't make that any easier. I feel like this is the most emotionally charged book in the series. Though it's hard to see the emotional turmoil still infecting Des and Darcie's relationship, it does end on a high note and leaves me feeling hopeful for these characters' futures.
