As dawn breaks on the year 2123, the cannibalism epidemic spreads its tentacles across the formerly great American nation. Jack Kennedy survived his trip to the Merced slaughterhouse, but the danger is far from over.
Some members of the Marshall family will never forgive the teenager they blame for their parents’ deaths. While they seek their revenge, the rest of the cannibals take over the country with the help of their friend, the gang leader known as Dog. The Orenite messiah will become the US President, forever ending the illusions of liberty and democracy.
A group of Old Ones from what had been Seattle arrives to help, along with their army of flying robots. They may be our salvation, but time is running out. And there is another, more terrifying truth that even the cannibals did not expect. That reality will seal the doom of the nation. Jack may survive, but the United States of America will not.
The third episode in Jack Kennedy's story begins where 2122: The Perilous Fight ended. The cannibals are on the run, but not for long. After seemingly being routed, soon they will control the entire nation. All hope is lost when the cannibal leader, Oren Marshall, burns the Constitution in front of the US Capitol building.
A glimmer of hope emerges when the Olympians and their army of robots appears on the scene, but time is running out. Events will spin out of control as new, more insidious realities are discovered. Has the United States been controlled by cannibals for decades? Can they ever be stopped? Jack Kennedy face the most dire threats yet as he and his family struggle to survive yet again. Join the adventure!
I haven't read the first two books in the series but didn't find it stopping me enjoying this imaginative, dystopian story of a very dark future where the USA is overrun with cannibals, which I actually found intriguing and a pleasant change from reading about Vampires or Zombies! Can the country and the American way of life survive? You will have to read the book to find out the answer! Either way I can promise a fun read.
