Greg Vance is a hapless millennial, deep in college debt and with no job to his name. When he discovers how to earn a fortune with gambling on baseball, Greg finds himself gaining the attention of the FBI. He and his friends are put to work and roped into taking down a mob leader in Rome.
Along the way, Greg’s team discovers The Conglomerate, a shadowy clique where high finance meets artificial intelligence. Greg must make a choice between keeping the status quo or poking the hornet’s nest of the planet’s most powerful club.
If you’re looking for a commercial pop thriller that doesn’t take itself too seriously, includes cameo appearances from public figures, and delivers on action and laughs- THE GREATEST HUMANS should be next on your reading list queue.
Leon Cameron is a suit and tie attorney by day, cloak and dagger novelist by night. His first work, THE GREATEST HUMANS, is built on the premise that saving the world is full of unintended consequences.
Raised on the mean streets of suburban Connecticut, Leon was fed a steady diet of superheroes and baseball that helped to develop his imaginative inclinations at an early age.

I really enjoyed this story. Its got a bit of everything in it including great adventure, humour and romance. Its a nicely crafted plot with strong characterisation. It's hard to recommend this to one type of reader as I think everyone will enjoy it.
Normally if a book just didn't suit my preferences, I would not give it a bad review, but I feel that this book tried its damndest to LOOK like it would suit my preferences, but then didn't even come close. In the book's defense, I only got 20% of the way through, so maybe there is something I am just missing, but when I read the title "The Greatest Humans" and see a nifty robot on the cover, I expect.... not pages upon pages about the intricacies of baseball.... and I still don't get the point of all the droll politics talk in the beginning. I ended up skimming most of it. In short, this book was just lost on me. I am disappointed.
Great take on regular people trying to do the right thing and becoming heroes, in spite of the adverse challenges they endure. Very unique and heartwarming.
In The Greatest Humans, we follow Greg Vance as he founds and directs The Greatest Humans Foundation. One part superhero tale, one part conspiracy, we follow him and his friends—ranging from latchkey kids to down-on-their luck veterans—as they take the fight to the people who run the world.
Time moves very quickly at the beginning this novel. A lot of things happen to our main character in a very short amount of time. There are also no scene breaks to indicate that time has passed or to split up the summary elements of the story (most concerning gambling and money) and the more heartfelt character moments concerning Greg and his mom’s struggle with cancer. This creates a bit of emotional whiplash. This occurs frequently in the rest of the novel, but it is most obvious in the beginning.
As it goes on, it does become less common. The story is pretty tangled, as it will be when you’re taking on a shadowy powerful organization, and there is a fair amount of violence. The action scenes do get kind of skipped, as if the writer isn’t quite comfortable with writing a fistfight, for instance.
The plot resembles a comic series plot a lot, with its tangles and twists and growing high stakes. The thing is, the heroes of this story are quite ordinary people who just keep fighting, even when the odds are very, very much against them. With the prevalence of comic book movies and a number of stories based on their premises, there was something refreshing about the way The Greatest Humans enabled some pretty ordinary men and women, making them heroes.
I have to tell you straight out – I DON’T READ FICTION – Never have – never will!!! LOL But after reading Leon's book – I was so impressed – Baseball, Cancer, Mother-Son Relationship, Love the Flexomatic, The Real Mafia (as opposed to the Sopranos), etc, etc, etc. The writer is very talented and should pursue this passion of his. Let me know who gets the movie rights – I cant wait to see it on the big screen. I love love love the cover artwork as well.
The Greatest Humans is an extremely well written book, full of nonstop adventures. I could not put it down. The premise of the book reinforces the old adage “No good deed goes unpunished”; which is a sardonic commentary on the frequency with which acts of kindness backfire on those who offer them. In other words, those who help others are doomed to suffer as a result of their being helpful. A perfect summer read.
I don't know how he does it, but Leon Cameron manages to get inside our heads and allows us to see things through a totally different perspective. THE GREATEST HUMANS™ universe, built on the basic premise that saving the world is full of unintended consequences, this book gets you thinking.
This book was captivating from start to finish. I'm waiting on Steven Spielberg to produce the film! Many elements that could lead to a bestseller. Waiting for the sequel. It really makes you think about what type of human are you?
What a wild ride! This book will keep you on the edge of your seat. It's got some great twists and turns and you'll want to keep reading to find out what's going to happen. I definitely recommend this!
What an adventure! This book captivated me right from the beginning until the very end. I can't wait to read more from this wonderful author. I highly recommend to all who love a good adventure!!
